In His Book, “Your Next Leap of Faith” Shanne Winnings teaches you how to Live Fearless in a World Dominated by Fear. And let me tell you, Shane shares from experience when it comes to stepping out in faith, or should I say leaping. In the space of just nineteen days, Shane, a former Army Special Forces officer and police officer went from a public, six-figure career to an unpaid, full-time missionary position across the country. His story exploded across social media, and to this day he reaches millions each week with his audacious daily encouragement to be a light in a dark world. Shane shows how hearing God's voice changes the trajectory of your entire life, Throughout the book, he infuses you with courage to cast off the world's crushing expectations and go all in for Christ. Sadie and her Bible study group invite you in to hear them talk about the biggest challenges of their 20s that they've experienced so far. And with Sadie and Christian's 90-Day Challenge coming up in the new year, what better way to prep? Sadie, Elyse, Bella, Grace, Lydia, and Freddie all candidly share where they've struggled most: discernment, devastating tragedies and choosing to believe God is good through it all, healing from past sins and patterns, and walking through difficult times as a friend and as someone who needs support. We also share encouragement to keep going through the tough times. When you look back, you will see how God's faithfulness and love has never wavered. After 7 years, Sadie, Bella and Rebecca are FINALLY recording a follow-up conversation together and a lot has changed for all of them since their last interview: vocabulary, Instagram trends (who remembers #ManCrushMondays?) fashion and Bella's braces! And with 7 years of change have also come 7 years of more wisdom, more life experiences (marriage, children, homeowners) and giving themselves more freedom to choose what they want to invest time and effort into. Bella confesses the real reason for taking an intentional step away from Instagram. Sadie doesn't understand why she sees so many Instagram feeds that are scrubbed of any cringe pics. Rebecca and Sadie talk about traveling with kids and they all laugh about a certain story Honey's been sharing with everyone lately. The three sisters share fashion advice (high-low) and they encourage us to all stop the comparison game. And Bella still doesn't understand one thing people often say to her. Ryan is the Founder, President, and CEO of Niles Industrial Coatings in Fenton, Michigan which he has led for close to 21 years. NIC is a best-in-class safety, coatings, and technology company focused on commercial and industrial painting across North America. As a serial entrepreneur, Ryan has founded and led multiple companies in the home building, commercial scaffolding, commercial services, and investing areas. Ryan is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Medical Technology and is currently in the Harvard Business School President's Program. Ryan is also a member of the Young President's Organization (YPO). Fun fact, Ryan and I both graduated from Grand Blanc High School, where I was a year ahead of him, so this was fun for me to connect with an old friend. I respect Ryan's business intellect and how he leads by example, with humility and authenticity, and putting his people first. He has created a unique learning culture within his company and is having a noticeable impact on his community. He is an incredible husband and father who leads with character and integrity and knows how to live life to the fullest. You will enjoy this conversation, so let's jump in! Show Notes:4:00 – Ryan begins by sharing his origin story. He shares his experience growing up in a family business and why he wanted to leave to chart his own path, leading into why he “took the leap.” He says that his father encouraged him to get out of the family business and pursue something more “stable.” 9:00 – Ryan talks about his experience being laid off from his job in 2002 and the emotions and lessons that came with that. He then begins to start his own business but struggles to get his family to get on board. With the support of his dad, he gets his new business started. Quote: “I see consistently that at your lowest point at your darkest hour in life, generally, that's when the seeds of your greatest successes are being planted and people just have to have faith through those dark seasons.” – Bob 12:00 – Ryan states that he wants to raise his kids to be fearless because he feels that fearlessness is what built him. 13:00 – Ryan shares how his wife supported him in the “unstable” parts of his career and how his dad's partnership impacted his life and career. 15:00 – Rod breaks down the biggest pivots that he made and how fearlessness played into those, one of the decisions being joining YPO. How important is it to him to protect the fearless trait within him to grow and manage his business? Quote: “It amazed me. When you really want something, how much you can get done.” – Ryan 19:00 – Ryan delves into his business endeavors with his dad, where he experiences extreme risk-taking. He emphasizes the importance of having high trust with your partner, the power of negotiation, and the efficiency that comes with valuing people and caring about the customer. Quote: “I think it [the margin] improved more from the culture and what we did once we started investing in the people and our equipment and that's what drove the margin not the pricing, and I think people miss that so often.” – Ryan 26:00 – Ryan shares how he views risk and why he leans into it. Ryan says that recognizing his gift of connecting the dots and being aware of things around him helps him to take risks. He shares that he takes risks when he has fully thought them through and trusts that he understands the risk that he is taking. 31:00 – Ryan shares that his secret power is his ability to pick up the phone to ask questions and be open to opinions and viewpoints. How important are different points of view and perspectives when it comes to decision-making? 34:00 – Ryan talks about his upbringing and struggles with not feeling naturally smart. He talks about the importance of finding your gifts and leveraging them. He says that having humility is vital when realizing your gifts and weaknesses. 37:00 – Ryan shares the ways that he helps his team find their giftings and lean into them to help them get joy out of what they are doing. He states that teaching his team to understand themselves is the starting point as well as accepting that everyone is a different kind of leader. Quote: “Our purpose is to unlock potential.” – Ryan 45:00 – Bob emphasizes that it all starts with asking the right questions to unlock value. 47:00 – Ryan delves into what “Niles Industrial Coatings” is doing and the notable projects that they have done and are currently working on. He states that their focus is bringing better solutions to major corporations. 53:00 – Ryan sheds light on the truth that you are going to fail. Why is it important to not always follow the status quo but to be looking for new territories to expand to? How do we learn quickly and recover quickly? 56:00 – Ryan shares why he identifies his company as a “technology company.” 59:00 – Entrepreneurship and business leadership comes with obstacles and sometimes “life or death” decisions. Ryan goes back and highlights times of crisis in his career and shares how he navigated these times. Quote: “Things are never good forever, things are never bad forever.” 1:10:00 – Ryan dives into his family life and how he has been able to build balance in his life running a company and being a family man. He is honest and says that it is a life of extremes– a lot of business time and a lot of family time. 1:15:00 – Ryan shares his favorite family traveling experiences. 1:18:00 – Ryan shares the main takeaways from his YPO trip to Italy, mainly about family businesses. 1:20:00 – Ryan talks about what motivates him and excites him about his work every morning. 1:25:00 – Lightning round questions. 1:27:00 – Final question: “If you were going to give the State of the Union address tonight and have the opportunity to talk to the entire country, what would you say?

My guest Mike Forrester is passionate about being a men's transformation coach, helping men to be freed from fear, anxiety, anger, doubt, and depression and to change their lives as well as the lives of their families. He knows all about the journey to freedom as he walked it for over 15 years. He shares about his toxic relationships with his father and mother, who were physically, emotionally, and verbally abusive. He brought this toxicity into his marriage and raising his children. He eventually sought the assistance of other men to help him in his journey and has been able to find the self-worth, confidence, and courage to be the husband his wife deserves and the father his children deserve. His Living Fearless coaching programs give men hope through helping them to develop life strategies and giving them support so that they know they do not have to be alone on this journey.Website: https://www.hicoachmike.com/Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/hicoachmikeInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/hicoachmike LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hicoachmike/Linktree: https://linktr.ee/hicoachmikePodcast: https://LivingFearlessTodayPodcast.com

Of all the conversations we've had with Jamie, this one is the cornerstone. One of the main messages I want you to extrapolate from the conversation is understanding why we so easily lean toward behavior modification instead of heart transformation. Whether we want to admit it or not, kids are dating a lot earlier now than when we were kids. We're discussing a pretty heavy topic that honestly, should be talked about more...Teen Dating Violence. Even if your children are still young, and nowhere near dating age, it's important to know how to talk to your kids about teen domestic violence and for you to know how to recognize the signs.According to the Teen Dating Violence website, "Healthy relationships require hard work, communication, and a level of maturity that may not be present in teens. As a result, many teen relationships – nearly one-third – are characterized as either unhealthy or violent." www.teendvmonth.orgTeen dating violence is not just physical, but can also include emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and stalking. It can take place in person, or more commonly on social media. Nearly 1.5 million girls and boys have admitted to being in an unhealthy relationship. Unfortunately, teenagers are not the most forthcoming so we need to make them feel safe and comfortable with communications with us.We are honored to be joined by Yolanda Oliver of @live_fearless_inc. Live Fearless, Inc. is not a passion project for Yolanda, it is her life journey. She is 1 in 4 women who've experienced violence in a relationship. She is the 68% of children exposed to violence in her home, not only did she survive she now thrives. Thriving did not come without struggles as Yolanda openly shares. A seed of purpose was planted in Yolanda, to serve women and children who are in crisis, fighting their way out of domestic violence situations with assistance to help them navigate through the struggles with support and resources as they journey to living withOUT fear! _________________________________Like what you heard? The Bible talks about going through both Hills and Valleys in our lives. Remember, the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike. This might seem like God has abandoned us while we are in our Valley but God can turn everything around for His perfect plan for our lives. I have realized that the times I feel very close to Jesus and give my trust to him is in the Valleys of life. I need to have total dependence on Him because usually things are out of my control. We all go through Hills, Valleys, and Plateaus in our life but it is our job to seek and grow in relationship with the Creator of ALL things through every season. Remember, you are loved and valued by Jesus. Dive into a relationship with Him. Once you take the first step or the one hundredth step towards Him, He will be ready with open arms! 38 Volume 3 Spiritual Renaiss--How to Live Fearless of Life and Death by Vern Grimsley
There's a crass saying about break ups that, "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." That's certainly one way to go (and I can't say I haven't tried it in the past!), but the route I chose after my most recent one was to zoom in on the experience and really look at how I co-created all the parts that made it not a good fit. It's humbling work, not always pleasant, but so worthwhile for the long term and today's guest has played a pivotal role in the process with me. Terri Cole is a fierce and loving friend, brilliant therapist and coach, and someone with an abundance of wisdom and experience to share. She is super grounded as her new tagline, "It's not magic, it's psychology" indicates, and we dove deep into really important topics smart, highly driven and achievement oriented women (and men) should all be aware of in relationships. From our subconscious drivers and downloaded relationship blueprints to high-functioning co-dependency and gas lighting, this conversation is a big one. Listen more than once and pay attention for the parts that make you want to shut it off because they hit so close to home. We'll be doing a follow up webinar on Jan 11 to go even deeper and take Q+A, too. The link to register for that call as well as some extra resources Terri provided are all in the show notes. Enjoy! About Terri Cole: Terri Cole, LCSW, founder and CEO of Live Fearless and Free, is a licensed psychotherapist, transformation coach, and an expert at turning fear into freedom by combining practical psychology, thought innovation, and harnessing the power of intention to create sustainable change. In this episode, Terri shares: 1. Unraveling control and manipulation in relationships 2. Understanding gas lighting, transference and secondary gain so you can spot them from now on 3. Looking at why we attract less than optimal romantic partners so we can stop doing it 4. Quitting co-dependency
In Feb 2015, I did a 5-day symposium consisting of 25 interviews with powerful and inspiring women sharing their stories and advice for transcending life’s struggles, fears and doing it their own way. We got so much incredible feedback on the interviews, we decided to turn it into a podcast. At times during the interviews when you hear us refer to the series or interviews that have already been done, keep in mind these interviews have been repurposed and may not follow the original order – but stay tuned because we’ll be airing four each month on Mondays alternating with fresh new episodes called “Ask Liz” every Wednesday. Rejecting and accepting gender roles 2. Becoming the one you love 3. How to functionally release and put words to anger (including the passive-aggressive kind)
