Do you have a moral duty of care towards your husband or wife? What does a ‘sense of duty' even mean? You CHOSE your spouse. Above all others. You made promises to each other. They have one life to live, and they chose to spend it with you. The way you treat each other today matters because the life you share will be over all too soon. One of you will be the first to go and that life will be over. The jobs, the cars, the money, the house extensions, and all your petty squabbles will mean nothing. In the final analysis, all that counts will be the legacy and quality of the relationship you had the courage and moral fibre to create. That's a burden one must take seriously, and so to that aim, I would urge you to allow yourself to feel obligated to give them the best of yourself that you possibly can. https://youtu.be/Ppt6pJ_ZetE?si=hVeybML0lxmFRLFW Laura How 14.7K subscribers 31,400 views May 12, 2025 #sex #marriage #relationships ▼▼▼NEWSLETTER SIGNUP▼▼▼ https://laurahow.com/newsletter-signup/ ▼▼▼SUPPORT MY MISSION▼▼▼ https://laurahow.com/support/ ▼FOLLOW ME▼ Instagram → / laurahow Facebook → / laurahowcounsellor Twitter → / laurahow ▶GET IN TOUCH◀ Website: https://laurahow.com/contact/ ▶BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS◀ Website: https://laurahow.com/book-recommendat... ▼ ⌚️Timestamps ▼ ──────────── 0:00 – 1:08 - Intro 1:08 – 2:31 – What is a Duty? 2:31 – 4:30 – Marriage Vows 4:30 – 6:15 – What's Sex Got to Do with It? 6:15 – 7:20 – Why Not Feel Obligated? 7:20 – 9:24 – Sex is Love & Love Means Duty 9:24 – 11:15 – A Decision to Love 11:15 – 11:37 - Outro ──────────── #marriage #sex #relationships BOOK A SESSION ▶▶▶ https://laurahow.com/online-coaching-...

For Valentine's Day, Gretchen Ronnevik and Katie Koplin talk about the trend of writing marriage vows, and some of the pitfalls of such a trend. What are the purpose of marriage vows? We look at trends, from both conservative and liberal perspectives, to define marriage beyond "for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health." We look at the history of marriage vows, what was going on in the church at the time, how marriage was redefined from being a sacrament to being a vocation, and the implications of all of that. With an eye on freedom, they talk about the burden of the younger generation to be unique and define themselves as a couple, and consistently reinvent the wheel. The gift of tradition can be burden lifting, so that you don't lose the plot of what marriage is, and what it is for. Sunday Sermon by Kevin Jensen — In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives us commands relating to our marriage vows, teaching us not to commit adultery in either the physical act or in the heart, and teaching us not to divorce. With these commands, plus similar teaching on divorce later in his ministry and then from the apostle Paul, we learn not merely to abstain from adultery and divorce, but to honor each other's marriage vows, and to devote ourselves to keeping our own. Texts: Matthew 5:27-32 & 19:1-12, 1 Corinthians 7:10-16
A submissive wife is committed to upholding her marriage vows, demonstrating unwavering loyalty and fidelity in both thoughts and actions towards her husband. She will actively avoid circumstances that could pave the way for unfaithful thoughts or behaviors.

There may have been a time when pornography seemed like just "a guy issue"; something that all guys do. However, we now know that pornography affects the body and brain similarly to heroin.Dannah Gresh experienced what many spouses are experiencing today when her husband, Bob, confessed his sexual and porn addiction. Although he was in ministry and did not want to hurt his wife, there was no other way to confess.Dannah wavered between hurt, self-loathing, and anger. She settled on the fact that she made a commitment to her husband before God to love him 'for better or for worse' and was committed to help Bob find healing.I sat down with Bob & Dannah to discuss their story, which culminated in her new book, "Happily Even After: Let God Redeem Your Marriage". This is one of the most vulnerable and transparent interviews I've experienced. Because of their willingness to allow us to look into those areas of their life, I believe countless marriages can find the healing that they are experiencing.------------------------FROM THE SHOW:Get Dannah's Book!https://amzn.to/417KZihRebecca's Website:https://dannahgresh.com/Happily Even After Podcast:https://open.spotify.com/show/1al4PzAf04JvZx3PCnh4IiFollow Rebecca:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dannah_gresh/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dannahgresh.truegirlSupport the show----------------------------------------MORE ABOUT THE PODCAST:Behind The Mike website:https://BehindTheMikePodcast.comEmail:Mike@BehindTheMike.netSUPPORT THE SHOW"Buy Me a Coffee"SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS:Sponsor a Child Through Compassion:compassioninternational.sjv.io/XYxJg4Covenant EyesGet 30-days FREE using promo code: BEHINDTHEMIKEhttps://covenanteyes.comWatch these podcasts on YouTube!Follow Us!FacebookInstagram

Why vows at the alter, wedding chapel, church need more thought about Who's doing the promising to another in marriage. Sure, it's the 20 year old Woman making that FOREVER promise. BUT, how can the 20 year old self make a promise for ppl she's never met (inside) which is the 30 year old, 40 year old, 50 year old. Do you remember your wedding vows, could you tell us what they are and more importantly if you have been keeping them? Sorry if that feels like a bold and challenging question, but the point is that many of us have forgotten what we promised our spouse at the start of the marriage! There are a few reasons this happens, tune into the episode to hear what those are. But the more important thing is to ongoingly remake your promises to each other to be a match to the next season of life together and for the individual people you are becoming. It was our anniversary this past weekend, and the practice of recreating our promises with each other is something we do each year. In this episode we will share with you the exercise we do and share with you the promises we just made with each other. Then you can do the same with your partner and create the future you truly desire for your marriage! Cancel Culture. It's the buzzword of the age. Cancel everyone who's not in line with the consensus of The Mob. Cancel Christmas. Cancel 2020. Cancel the divorce. Wait, what? Cancel the divorce? Why, divorce should be the first option when a couple experiences difficulty in their marriage. At least that's how worldly minded people think. Chuck Knapp, our guest on this episode, says that the Cancel Culture, while real and problematic in the here and now, is actually advantageous for the Gospel. It just makes God and His word more real to those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. As a radio personality in both the Christian and secular realms, Chuck has long had a deep love for God and a desire to have the fruits of the Spirit manifest in his life. While not the personification of perfection, he's found the means to return to God and His word has allowed him to remain faithful. In fact, he and his wife even cancelled their pending divorce as they both dove deep into the Scriptures, and the truth contained in them, and allowed them to be real in their life and marriage. That's a Cancel Culture we most definitely approve of! In our conversation with Chuck, you'll hear: -How Chuck got interested in the afterlife...03:15 -Pushing the boundaries of what could be said on the air while remaining clean...07:30 -Why Chuck chose unemployment over a lifetime job offer in radio...11:45 -Why it was so easy to let loose in an environment that was known for its predictability...18:30 -Leaving radio ministry to pursue the desires of the flesh...22:30 -The dangers of forsaking the armor of God...29:15 -The process of restoration of the soul...33:30 -Why Chuck and his wife cancelled their divorce...36:15 -Chuck's wife Cheryl shares her perspective on the cancelled divorce...40:30 Resources mentioned: Book: https://amzn.to/3s3ElIp (Undefeated Innocence) by Chuck's wife, Cheryl Book: https://amzn.to/3scz558 (Created for Connection) https://firstbaptistmountainhome.com/media (The Rhythmic Community ) course offered by Chuck's home church
