The disappearance of 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard has taken a shocking turn. The California girl vanished in early October 2025 after a cross-country trip with her mother, Ashlee Buzzard — and now investigators are alarmed by the mother's strange behavior and disturbing past. Welcome to Surviving the Survivor, the show that brings you the #BestGuests in all of #truecrime. In this STS episode, Emmy Award-Winning Host Joel Waldman and a panel of detectives and investigators take a closer look into the missing girl's case--and her mom. According to officials, Melodee was last seen on October 9 near the Colorado–Utah border during a multi-state road trip in a rented white Chevy Malibu. Days later, Ashlee returned to California alone. Investigators discovered she allegedly switched license plates mid-trip and may have disguised Melodee in a wig to avoid detection. Ashlee has since refused to cooperate with police or reveal where her daughter is. Authorities now consider Melodee an “at-risk” missing child as growing evidence points to deception, secrecy, and a troubled family history. This case has captured national attention — and many are asking the same question: Where is Melodee Buzzard, and what is her mother hiding?Support the show & be a part of #STSNation:Donate to STS' Trial Travel: Https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/GJ...VENMO: @STSPodcast or Https://www.venmo.com/stspodcastCheck out STS Merch: Https://www.bonfire.com/store/sts-store/Joel's Book: Https://amzn.to/48GwbLxSupport the show on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SurvivingTheSurvivorEmail: SurvivingTheSurvivor@gmail.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Nine-year-old Melodee Buzzard should have been in a classroom in Lompoc, California. Instead, she's missing—and the story unfolding around her disappearance is hauntingly familiar to anyone who followed the Harmony Montgomery case. Former FBI agent and expert witness Jennifer Coffindaffer returns to Break the Case to dissect every known detail of this developing investigation, from the last verified sightings to the eerie gaps that have law enforcement scrambling for answers. Coffindaffer recounts how the case began not with a frantic 911 call, but with a report from the Lompoc Unified School District after Melodee hadn't attended school for months. The child's father died in a motorcycle crash when she was only six months old, and her mother, Ashley, appeared to have spiraled since. A chilling interview with Melodee's grandmother revealed a home in squalor, unfit for a child, and a family paralyzed by distance and dysfunction. By the time Child Protective Services intervened, it was already too late—Melodee had vanished. Law enforcement has released a crucial timeline. Melodee was last seen on October 7, 2025, at a California rental car agency, traveling with her mother, who reportedly planned a cross-country trip to Nebraska. Surveillance footage shows the child heavily clothed, possibly wearing a wig—a potential attempt to disguise her identity. As Coffindaffer points out, these details suggest intention, preparation, and deep secrecy. The FBI and Santa Barbara authorities have since executed search warrants, but so far, no confirmed trace of Melodee has been found. Through methodical breakdowns, Coffindaffer urges the public to share Melodee's image widely, drawing parallels to how social media once led to the discovery of Gabby Petito. Every share, every view, could be the one that brings a missing child home—or finally reveals the truth about what happened to her. #MelodeeBuzzard #MissingChild #TrueCrime #JenniferCoffindaffer #BreakTheCase #FBIInvestigation #HarmonyMontgomery #CPSFailure #GabbyPetito #TrueCrimeCommunity Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Welcome to your weekly UAS News Update. We have three stories for you this week. First, DEXA secures a nationwide BVLOS waiver for drone deliveries, DroneDeploy launches Progress AI, and a drone pilot finds a missing girl in Wisconsin. First up, U.S. drone delivery company DEXA has hit a major regulatory milestone, securing a nationwide Beyond Visual Line of Sight, or BVLOS, waiver from the FAA. This is a huge deal because it allows the company to conduct autonomous delivery operations across the country without needing visual observers on the ground for every flight. This approval puts DEXA in an elite group alongside giants like Amazon Prime Air, Wing, and Zipline, who are all pushing the boundaries of commercial drone logistics. In addition to this new BVLOS waiver, the company already holds a Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate, which legally allows them to run a drone airline. They also have an airworthiness certification for their DE-2020 delivery drone. Having all three of these in place is the key to unlocking scalable, repeatable, and, most importantly, profitable drone delivery services. They're using their own U.S.-made aircraft and a direct-to-consumer app called DEXA NOW. Next up, DroneDeploy has just announced a new tool that called Progress AI, and it's designed to completely automate construction progress tracking. Instead of someone walking a site with a clipboard and manually marking up drawings, this system uses AI to analyze data from drones and 360-degree cameras to generate fast and reliable progress reports. DroneDeploy claims the platform can deliver reports with 95% accuracy within minutes of the images being uploaded. One of the coolest features is its natural-language interface. This works without needing a complex Building Information Model, or BIM, which lowers the barrier to entry for a lot of companies. Early users are already reporting great results, with one project engineer saying they caught a framing issue with a door install just by reviewing a walkthrough, saving them days of rework. Progress AI is currently in early access and is expected to be widely available in October as an add-on for DroneDeploy customers. Last up, a real-world drones-for-good story! A volunteer drone pilot in Milton, Wisconsin, is being called a hero after he found a missing 4-year-old girl in a dense cornfield. The girl, Lou Easton, is autistic, nonverbal, and reportedly doesn't feel pain, which made her disappearance incredibly urgent. With sunset approaching, her family feared she had wandered into a nearby cornfield. That's when Rock County officials called for aerial support. The hero of the day is Jeremy Harring-Spoerl, a volunteer with Wisco Aerial and Ground Services. He launched his DJI Matrice 30 drone and got to work. In just 40 minutes, he spotted Lou deep in the cornfield and was able to guide rescue teams directly to her location. She was found safe and unharmed. This is a perfect example of why drones are such incredible tools for search and rescue. A drone can cover a massive area far more quickly than a ground team, and thermal cameras can spot heat signatures that would be impossible to see otherwise. Stories like this are a powerful reminder that for every headline about drone bans, there are pilots out there using this technology to save lives. A huge congratulations to Jeremy for a job well done!Alright, and the team will be back from Oshkosh next week, so no Live on Monday or Post flight this coming week, but we'll pick back up the following! https://dronexl.co/2025/07/14/dexa-faa-bvlos-waiver-drone-deliveries/https://dronexl.co/2025/07/21/drone-hero-saves-missing-girl-wisconsin/https://dronelife.com/2025/07/22/dronedeploy-launches-progress-ai-to-automate-construction-tracking/

Were there missing girls in Biscay? Sex ratios in Northern Spain, Fiveteen 1550-1899", publicado en el número 19 de la revista Investigaciones de Historia Económica. Presenta, María Gómez Martín, profesora ayudante doctora de Historia Contemporánea en la Universidad de Oviedo y miembro del equipo de divulgación de la AEHE. Learn more about your ad choices. It's been called one of the most curious cases of A Missing person in New Hampshire history because there are so many questions when it comes to the disappearance of 14 year old Laureen Rahn.
Somi doesn't normally go through her husband's things, but their house has been so cluttered, she's going to lose her mind. From the back of their closet, she comes across old VHS tapes and a VHS player that she doesn't recognize. Home movies, old memories? She pushes the tape in and presses play. The screen lights up. It's a bed and two naked bodies. Her husband… and another girl laying next to him. There are words written all over both of their bodies in thick marker, words like ‘Prince' and ‘King.' Then Somi sees the blood. The girl has a long slice down her private area; she's bleeding, trembling, completely terrified. The male—her husband's voice—snaps at the girl, “Endure it even if it hurts.” Then he proceeds to SA her. Somi is frozen—but her mind is in overdrive—she can't shake the feeling that she knows the girl—she can't place a name but she recognizes the girl's face. It was the same one on the missing posters in town. The girl in the video was the little, 8-year-old girl that had gone missing a year ago. Audrii Cunningham's body has been found along the Trinity River after water levels were lowered, allowing detectives access. Don Steven McDougal, 42, led investigators to the location earlier in the investigation. McDougal has now been charged with capital murder. Don Steven McDougal has been a person of interest since the first 24 hours of Audrii Cunningham's disappearance. He was arrested on an unrelated charge. In 2010, Don Steven McDougal was working in a local garage with Elic Bryan III. Bryan says McDougal seemed like an OK guy, until one night when McDougal had too much to drink and Bryan had to kick him out of his house. McDougal left, briefly, and came back with a knife, slashing tires and trying to stab Bryan. Bryan had to get his gun to try to run a drunk McDougal off his property, but it took police with police dogs coming out to track him down and take McDougal to jail. Don Steven McDougal admits he was supposed to take Audrii Cunningham to the bus stop but he has yet to tell investigators if she made it to the bus stop or not.
