Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

After speaking up about an issue impacting farm workers in her community when she was 14, Monica Ramirez found her voice. But the road to being heard was much longer. Nely spoke to Monica after her letter, "700,000 Female Farmworkers Say They Stand With Hollywood Actors Against Sexual Assault" was published in Time Magazine in 2017, went viral, and sparked the Time's Up movement. Monica tells Nely about the death threats she received due to her work, the chapter of her life when she couldn't afford housing, and the fight for farm workers she has continued, unwavering, throughout. Monica's journey is a powerful one— one that we should celebrate during Hispanic Heritage Month, and always. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Monica Ramirez is a Transformational Belief Coach and self-proclaimed Warrior of Love. Monica shares her personal experience with divorce, having been married and divorced four times. She delves into the emotional journey of divorce, discussing the feelings of guilt, shame, and anger that often accompany the process.Monica also challenges the societal norm of harboring resentment towards ex-partners and instead encourages listeners to view their exes as teachers and opportunities for personal growth. Join us as we explore strategies for shifting mindsets and finding compassion in the midst of divorce. Three of the strategies Monica shares include: · Shift your perspective: Divorce can be a painful experience, but it's important to remember that it is not a reflection of your worth. By shifting your mindset towards viewing your ex-spouse as a teacher who helped you learn and grow, you can find compassion and understanding.· Give yourself time – while it may be difficult to be alone, it is important to learn how you want to be treated and how to choose a partner that will provide the loving relationship you want. That time for yourself is individual, but it critical not to rush the process.· Take time for self-reflection: It's crucial to give yourself time and space to process the emotions that come with divorce. By reflecting on your own choices and understanding why you chose your partner, you can gain insight into your own needs and values, ultimately leading to personal growth. About the Guest:Creative, Passionate, and Deeply Connected… Monica is the Warrior of Love. Since she was born, she was very open with her gifts and dedicates her life to unearth them. Join my discussion with Monica Ramirez, Warrior of Love as we talk about overcoming limiting beliefs and how to use awareness, understanding, and remembering how far you've come so that you can use your ego as a tool instead of the enemy. We discuss the societal programming that leads people to doubt themselves and lose touch with their true potential and emphasize the importance of unlearning these beliefs and reconnecting with your inner divine being.Highlights:1. Many people don't believe in themselves due to societal programming and messages received from childhood and we can unlearn and rediscover our true identity and purpose.2. The ego is seen as a tool for self-awareness, providing insights into areas that require inner work.3. Working at the subconscious level is important to reprogram limiting beliefs that hinder personal growth. Personal growth occurs in layers, and each level presents new challenges and opportunities to learn.4. 8. The ego can be viewed, not as an enemy but a part of oneself that can be harnessed for growth and self-improvement.5. 9. Do you have, or have you in the past had chronic issues with your health? Have you ever said to yourself, friends, and/or family, ”I don't understand what I did to feel so bad so often.”? If your issue is more in the area of depression or anxiety, have you asked the same question?  If you've been following Guided Spirit Conversations for a while, you have heard about the connection between mind, body, and spirit. How when you begin to heal the wounds you've brought in with your incarnation, or your emotional traumas, your body will begin to heal and those acute issues start to disappear. I have experienced this quite a few times in my life. I would say that the most difficult time was right after my first marriage. I was really unhappy with my decision to marry my first husband and adopt his children. I still hadn't worked on my other past issues and now I was in the deep end of a relationship that was filled with much dishonesty. When we got together and talked about our roles, it was presented that we would be a family unit. That he would be participating in our lives as more than the breadwinner. After I became legally bound, the agreement changed. Everything but making money for the household was thrown on my plate, including disciplining his children. Yes, I adopted them, but I didn't expect to be the main disciplinarian. It all seemed too much. Then one day I felt the flu coming on and went to bed, not to leave it for two weeks. One day I awoke feeling absolutely great. This lasted for about two weeks and BAM! I was back in bed unable to do most things, for I couldn't stay awake to do the things on my “to-do list”. This back and forth lasted for two years when I was introduced to a homeopath. This amazing woman not only helped me begin to function physically, but she brought my childhood and homelife into our conversations. This was one of the early nudges that got me on my spiritual path. Though I began to heal my body, my true healing didn't begin until I began my first mystery school. The rest, as they say, is history. This week on Guided Spirit Conversations Podcast my guest is Monica Ramirez, The Warrior of Love. At different points in Monica's life, she had physical issues such as Lupus, RA, Fibromyalgia as well as depression. She healed herself from these maladies through her spiritual journey. It's the various modalities she's learned that has helped her to not just heal herself, but her many clients. In addition to all her modalities, she teaches her clients how to master the art of love; for self and others. Don't make the kids feel like they had any part in the break up. Listen to Monica Ramirez and Michelle as they talk about how you can control your ego and have that positive parenting through divorce. Remove the guilt and the shame from the kids, talk to them with love. “I know divorce is hard. The best thing you can do is try to remove your ego. Try to remove your ego and think what is the best I can do for my kids? How can I help them out? Because every act has consequences. Monica Ramirez, Activist Organizer, Founder of Justice For Migrant Women, and Co-Founder of Poderistas, The Latinx House and Alianza Nacional de Campesinas, talks to us through her journey that inspired her to ask questions at a very young age to her migrant farm working parents, “why are farm workers not celebrated when it's time to work in the fields, but fisherman in our town are welcomed back with celebration?” She pursued that question to become  “ The Voice of The People” in her hometown newspaper at the age of 14 when someone gave her that shot to write a column that would give visibility to the farm workers who came every year. What started as her curiosity and passion for writing, led her to her life's purpose as the daughter of migrant parents to be a social justice attorney for migrant farm workers and her projects, “The Humans That Feed Us” and her 15 year anniversary of “The Bandana Project”. Monica has also created pathways for change to the way Latinx is seen within the larger media lens, through The Latinx House and Poderistas, which has created a powerful advocacy circle of Latinas in Hollywood, such as America Ferrera, Eva Longoria, and Alexandria-Martinez Kondrake. As April is known as Sexual Assualt Awareness Month, (SAAM), she tells us of her protest letter for Time's Up Movement, which was later published in Time Magazine as “Dear Sisters” that became the reached into Hollywood's  storytelling foundations, such as Sundance and Netflix, that will be creating more open door opportunities for the Latinx community to be the writers and producers of our own stories. We need to tell our own stories, and now is our time. Monica is listed on Time's 100 list for 2021 and she is bringing us all with her. Muchas Gracias to Monica Ramirez and her teams for making this podcast possible for Latinas From The Block To The Boardroom and our audio engineer, Robert Lopez of Latinasb2b.com to content editing and audio. -Theresa

Post By: Adam Turteltaub The numbers on money laundering are shocking. Monica Ramirez Chimal, Partner at Asserto reports in this podcast that between $3 and $7 trillion is laundered annually. Despite the large number of dollars, enforcement tends to lag, with only a small fraction of cases reviewed by authorities or even caught by compliance programs. Part of the challenge, she reports, is that compliance programs are often not up the challenge. Controls are not as strong or comprehensive as they could be. In addition, the pandemic is creating new opportunities for money launderers. There are less face-to-face meetings and transactions may have less documentation, and what documents there are may not be reviewed as closely as they should be. At the same time money launderers are changing their tactics, using students and housewives, for example, to open dummy accounts. They are even taking advantage of the explosion in pet ownership, passing money to people while they are out walking their dogs. Listen in to learn more about the complexities of this issue and what organizations can be doing to ensure that they are not caught up in a money laundering scheme.

Procrastination, defined by putting things off, falling behind, and then feeling badly, is a normal behavior but one that can cause real problems when taken to extremes. It can present as a symptom of depression or anxiety or perfectionism. it's remediation can help create a sense of relief or respite from these other conditions. A first step in addressing problematic procrastination is to raise awareness that procrastination is occurring so that it becomes more of a conscious choice rather than a simple reflex. Next, it is helpful to understand the motivations that cause the behavior, which vary across different people. Some people procrastinate as a simple short-term means of avoiding having to do tasks they find aversive. Others avoid due to social evaluation fears or self-doubt. Others procrastinate due to poor organizational skills and difficulty accurately estimating the time it will take to accomplish a goal. Procrastination can also occur as a practical means of social manipulation (such as when delay in cleaning one's room will cause another to do it for you), or as a result of existential paralysis over not being able to complete tasks with a (self-imposed) required level of skill or quality. Its important to pick a single instance of procrastination to address rather than try to stop the pattern globally. Keeping change goals small and manageable makes it possible to maintain motivation to change and to measure change as it occurs.
