In this latest installment of Unidentified History, Dave gives a debrief of Contact in the Desert. He had the opportunity to spend a day at the largest UFO/UAP Convention in the world and, spoiler alert...he had a hell of a time. Dave discusses with PC Tunney and DJ his takeaways from the event, including the state of Disclosure, why we need to take Experiencers more seriously, why not enough attention is being paid to USOs, and did Dave capture something odd on his Night Vision goggles? The guys also discuss a recent allegation made to Representative Eric Burlison that the tic-tac might have been Lockheed-Martin tech all along. Could this be true? In the second half of the show, we finally get to our first historical deep dive as the guys break down the Battle of Los Angeles. Over 5 years before Kenneth Arnold and Roswell, at the beginning of the USA's involvement in World War II, the skies over Los Angeles erupted as over 1400 rounds of ammunition were fired into the darkness at an unknown object(s). But no planes were downed, no wreckage was found, and the entire incident remains shrouded in mystery. Was a UFO involved, and if so, was this the first mass UFO sighting in North America? The guys take a fresh look at this iconic incident to see if anything new has been learned in the past 80 years and whether there is any way to solve one of the enduring mysteries of Ufology. Once thought to be solely the stuff of science fiction, UAPs (UFOs) are very real to millions around the world. In 2021, the US Government confirmed that leaked UAP video was legitimate. Ever since, there has been an explosion of interest in the topic. Yet, we are no closer to understanding UAPs, where they come from, or who/what is behind the phenomenon. In this new series, we look to bridge the gap between the past and present by looking at some of the most important UAP sightings in history and determining whether the question of "are we alone in the universe?" might have already been answered.About the Chairshot Radio NetworkLaunched in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in sports, entertainment, and sports entertainment. Night vision for years was considered to be one of, if not the greatest, capabilities that the modern American warfighter had at their disposal. Having the tool however, is only part of the discussion. To dive further into this, I'm joined once again by Rick Hogg of War Hogg Tactical, to talk about Operating behind the tubes. While there's certainly been leaps and bounds of technical development over the past two to three decades, in the end, the experience of the user consistently comes through in the conversation as the real differentiator. We spend time talking on training applications under NODs, including your dry fire, and Rick provides insight on battlefield force multipliers, as well as the environment wildcards that can take all the advantages that a good set of tubes can offer, and take it away. Another great conversation, give it a listen, and enjoy!Check out more about Rick, and War Hogg over at www.warhogg.comVisit our sponsors! Our Patreon - www.patreon.com/prepared_mindset_podCustom Night Vision - www.customnightvision.comOrion Training Group - www.oriontraininggroup.comOne Hundred Concepts - www.onehundredconcepts.com

Ohjaaja Luca Guadagninon (mm. Call Me by Your Name, 2017) Queer -elokuva pohjaa William S. Burroughsin tekstiin. Toimittajana on Pauliina Grym.
On this episode of the Acceptable Accuracy Podcast, hosts Philip and Tyler are joined by guest host Kyle and Chris from Blackout Ballistics for a deep dive into the world of night vision. We talk about getting into vision gear, the challenges and surprises of shooting under nods, and how it all translates into the competition world. The Political Winds Have Changed... But Have They!? What will the new era of politics mean for the hunting and shooting industry? Will hunters continue to be targeted and censured by social media conglomerates? Will the gun industry continue to be in the crosshairs of politicians? A lot of questions but do we have any answers... or any glimpse of hope?! Based on a listener's email, Jrad and Steed are talking all things night vision in this week's Chubstep. The guys start with the ‘Chubistory' of night vision in the military and it's ties to what was found in Osama bin Laden's compound and Ben Affleck before getting to the way too complicated ‘Steed Science', why Chappell Roan makes Steed regret his timing joining the military, dining in pitch black, and unrelated knitting at a Regina Spektor concert.
Night Vision is one of the most popular ways for those invested in their personal capability, to "level up" by simply adding a device to their gear. As civilians, this is even more true, as while it's more accessible now, perhaps more than at any other time in history, it is still very expensive and out of reach for many. To dive into the reality that many of us face in affording such tools, I sit back down with Duncan Greene. Duncan and I have gotten into a pair of previous discussions on the Night Vision market, the realities of the devices, and their financial requirements. However, as the world changes, and the economics of the market come into play, it has a direct impact on what we as prepared civilians can do for ourselves. If you're someone who's on the fence about getting a device, don't be, just do it. However, you should also give this discussion a listen, you may learn a few things and be surprised on what you're able to do for yourself!Visit our sponsors! Our Patreon - www.patreon.com/prepared_mindset_podCustom Night Vision - www.customnightvision.comAmerican Defense Manufacturing - www.admmfg.comOrion Training Group - www.oriontraininggroup.comOne Hundred Concepts - www.onehundredconcepts.com

Hunting technology has come a long way—from basic iron sights to thermal optics, from traditional camo to AI-powered smart scopes. But where do we draw the line between innovation and fair chase? In this episode of PH Journals, I dive into the impact of night vision, thermal optics, scent-blocking camo, and long-range shooting advancements on modern hunting.
God is still speaking, and one of the most profound ways He does so is through dreams. From Joseph in Egypt to Peter's vision of clean and unclean animals, scripture is filled with examples of the Holy Spirit using dreams to reveal God's plans. Acts 2:17 confirms that in these last days, the Spirit continues to pour out prophetic visions and dreams, guiding believers into divine revelation. Our springboard for today's discussion is: Acts 2:17—“And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”Dreams given by the Holy Spirit are not just random thoughts but powerful messages. They often bring warnings, encouragement, or direction. Have you ever woken up from a dream that felt different—so vivid and powerful that you couldn't shake it? That could be the Holy Spirit whispering wisdom, calling you to pray, or showing you something beyond your understanding.Prophetic dreams align with God's word. They never contradict scripture but instead confirm His truth and direction for our lives. The challenge is learning to discern His voice in our dreams, seeking wisdom in interpretation, and testing them against the Bible. This is where spiritual discernment and prayer become essential.Question of the Day: Have you ever had a dream that you felt was from the Holy Spirit? What did you do with it?Let's Pray: Holy Spirit, open our hearts and minds to Your divine revelations. Help us discern the dreams You give, and guide us in wisdom to understand and apply them. In Jesus' name, Amen.Let's Get To Work!Support MyR2B Ministries: Your support sustains this ministry and helps us spread God's voice to more believers. This is a public episode. Daniel was troubled by his vision of powerful kingdoms rising, speaking against God, and waging war on the saints. The forces of darkness seemed unstoppable, but their end was certain. Hard to believe it's already been three months (and then some) since I first sat down with Jake, but he's back, and we're picking up where we left off. Since the first conversation we had together, Jake has migrated to a new role with Herrington Arms working in sales, marketing, and even helping in customer service. Beyond that, in his role in law enforcement, Jake is currently going through the state approved instructor course for Ohio, to allow him to teach and qualify other officers. Throughout this whole discussion, we talk about some of the in's and out's, the challenges and rewards if you will, of the growth and development that he's experiencing. As always, we offer plenty of opinion, and insight into different ways of doing things, especially when it comes to training and performance. We also spend just a little time hearing about the trip out to Las Vegas for SHOT Show 2025, and the work Jake and Redline Consulting are putting in to their Night Vision events this winter.Visit our sponsors!Patreon - www.patreon.com/prepared_mindset_podCustom Night Vision - www.customnightvision.comAmerican Defense Manufacturing - www.admmfg.comOrion Training Group - www.oriontraininggroup.comOne Hundred Concepts - www.onehundredconcepts.com
In a world that has developed a collective fear of the dark, how can we navigate the not-so-positive feelings that we experience? In episode 121 of Overthink, Ellie and David chat with philosopher Mariana Alessandri about her book, Dark Moods. They talk about how the obsession with light fuels toxic positivity, the ways shame amplifies dark moods, and the harmful effects of associating light with good and darkness with bad. Why does society disregard negative emotions? Does the medical field pathologize grief for good reason? And should we strive to make people feel better when they're experiencing a dark mood? Plus, in the Patreon bonus, they consider the difficulties of experiencing emotions that lie in a gray area, different types of anger, and whether we need to move away from metaphors of light and darkness entirely.Check out the episode's extended cut here!Works Discussed:Mariana Alessandri, Night Vision, Seeing Ourselves Through Dark MoodsGloria Anzaldúa, Borderlands/La Frontera: The New MestizaWilliam James, The Varieties of Religious ExperiencePlato, The RepublicMiguel de Unamuno, The Tragic Sense of LifeSupport the showPatreon | patreon.com/overthinkpodcast Website | overthinkpodcast.comInstagram & Twitter | @overthink_podEmail | dearoverthink@gmail.comYouTube | Overthink podcast

How do we recognize our wounds as portals to new realities? How might accepting and tending to feelings of powerlessness birth deeper devotions of our paths? Where are we creating artificial separations between pain and beauty? Where have we been taught that our powerlessness makes us unworthy? The theme for January 2025 is The Miraculous Portal of The Wound. In this episode, I share some contemplations for us to return to throughout the month. But what if these two aspects of our work are potential lovers who simply need to practice collaborating so they can finally understand they're not enemies, after all?In this conversation with Michelle Pellizzon-Lipsitz, we explored this juicy liminal intersection. “This will be a particularly ignorant episode… from an historical standpoint” - Steve, on WHM's lack of history education On this week's special We ❤️ Movies episode, we're chatting about Royal Rid's 2000-era action epic, Gladiator! How great of a run did this film set off for Russell Crowe? How easily eerie is Joaquin here? Did Jesse Ventura try to snag an audition along with Sven-Ole? How intense is that tiger sequence? Is the CGI'd Oliver Reed the first cinematic instance of Hollywood going to Tarkin Town and should we be calling it Oliver Reed-ville instead? And how funny is that “They Say No” decapitation? PLUS: How is this movie only one of THREE times Royal Rid was nominated for Best Director? “It's almost too much of a conspiracy for a sequel to The Fugitive to handle.” - Andrew, on the conspiracy plot On this very special patrons-only episode of We Hate Movies, we're chatting about the soggy, unnecessary continuation of The Fugitive, which is a flawless movie, it's the very flawed sequel, U.S. Marshals! Why couldn't Wesley be allowed to do some martial arts in these fight scenes? Why is it just another hunt for a wrongfully accused fella? Is this film one of the first ever instances of—hold it right there! This episode is for subscribers only! First of all, yes, we are discussing the four-hour and twenty-three-minute extended edition! How magnificent is John Noble's demise in this movie? Of all the stuff they could've cut from the theatrical, why on Earth did they ditch Sarumon's big fall? How horny is Eowyn for Aragorn? Was there a funnier way to include Sean Bean in that one scene? “His Joker has haunted me more than Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson or Mark Hamill!” - Andrew on Cesar Romero On this week's episode, we're kicking off We ❤️ Movies month with a fun-AF conversation about the super-silly, action-packed, superhero camp classic, Batman: The Movie! How incredible are all of these performances? Between this movie and filming the TV show, was the studio working these actors like dogs or what? Why is Batman stashing all his vehicles (land, sea and air) right out in broad daylight? Why are so many marine animals being obliterated throughout the film? And who were they kidding with that anti-alcohol line, everyone on this set was drinking before noon every day! “BIIIIIIIIG DAAAAA-DAAAAY!” - Steve, enthusiastically For this week's FOUR-OR MOVIE Spooktacular selection, we're talking about the last good one from a true horror master, George A. Romero's Land of the Dead! Shouldn't they have dirtied up Simon Baker's handsome-as-hell appearance for this gritty-ish character? Who else wanted, nay, needed, more Dennis Hopper in this movie? How cool is that Priest Zombie head-snap move? Couldn't they have shown us Big Daddy walking underwater like it's a Pirates of the Caribbean movie? And anyone else catch the Tom Savini cameo? PLUS: George A. Romero and M. Night Shyamalan battle over Pennsylvania Film Director Supremacy! Land of the Dead stars Simon Baker, Dennis Hopper, John Leguizamo, Asia Argento, Robert Joy, Joanne Bland, Tony Nappo, Phil Fondacaro, and Eugene Clark as Big Daddy; directed by George A. Romero. Janisse & Chelsea Rebecca, to chat about the outrageous sci-fi FOUR-OR movie, Leprechaun 4: In Space! How cheap are these computer animated ship effects? What was with that Ray Charles joke? What's going on with this Mittenhands character? Does having this extra bug monster crowd the field for our beloved monstrous Leprechaun? And how about those exploding genitals, huh? PLUS: Captain Picard turns down the offer to install a disco ball in 10 Forward for… reasons. “It's a bunch of dead-eyed, CW, catalog models…” - Andrew, on this cast of dead meats On this week's episode, the 2024 Halloween Spooktacular continues on the FOUR-OR MOVIE journey with the absolutely dreadful box office juggernaut, The Final Destination! How silly are all these 3D gags? Why did they cut the budget so harshly on this one, thus killing all their special effects? Why did the writers think the script needed that slur when you can already tell that the character is racist? And how in the world do you make one of these movies without the legendary Tony Todd? PLUS: Eric and Steve conjure the Bye Bye Man! How great is this Freddy-assisting dog that pees fire? Did we really need to start the movie with a Bible quote, when a scroll about the lore of the Dream Master would've been much more helpful?
