En 2024 se cumplen 150 años del nacimiento de Antonio Palacios, el arquitecto que quiso transformar Madrid en una ciudad cosmopolita y dejó su huella en icónicos edificios.Por cercanía familiar, en su Galicia natal se habituó al trabajo de la construcción, su padre trabajaba en las obras del ferrocarril y la familia de su madre era dueña de canteras. Allí adquirió la afición por el diseño y el dibujo que le acompañó toda su vida.Pero será en Madrid donde estudie Arquitectura y junto a su colega y amigo Joaquín Otamendi forme una sociedad que compartiría proyectos durante casi veinte años. Uno de ellos, el Palacio de Comunicaciones, actual Ayuntamiento de la ciudad. Su aspecto clasicista le convierte en una especie de catedral civil que, a su monumental fachada une un espacio interior funcional y bien organizado.Este edificio marcó otras obras posteriores como el Hospital de Jornaleros de Maudes, inspirado en los hospitales renacentistas; el Banco del Río de la Plata, en el que las cariátides y las columnas jónicas de la fachada le confieren un aspecto de templo clásico en plena calle de Alcalá; y, no lejos, el Círculo de Bellas Artes, quizá la más polémica de sus construcciones, que también evoca el clasicismo griego.Palacios fue, además, uno de los arquitectos del Metro de Madrid, donde dejó su particular huella en los azulejos que daban claridad a los nuevos espacios subterráneos.Al final diseñó ciudades utópicas y proyectos visionarios que no llegaron a realizarse. Dibujaba constantemente y su imaginación no tenía límites, pero él se mantuvo fiel hasta final a un estilo que muchos definían como ecléctico, mezcla de clasicismo y elementos y materiales modernos.El documental, con la firma de Modesta Cruz, cuenta con la participación de tres arquitectos, Álvaro Bonet, Jacobo Armero y Miguel Lasso, y con el catedrático de Historia del Arte de la Universidad de Santiago, Jesús Sánchez.Escuchar audio

PSV haalde de groepsfase niet door Benfica en die liepen het veld af met de gedachte hoe dat nou kon. En Ajax moet precies hetzelfde hebben gedacht. De vloek van Hollandse clubs tegen Portugese clubs.' Toch bracht Ajax dit duel te weinig om aanspraak te mogen maken op een overwinning vindt Mikos Gouka. ‘De laatste weken kregen ze meer tegengoals in de competitie, maar dit duel liet Ajax het aanvallend liggen. Ze creëerden echt te weinig kansen. Al was het ook een masterclass verdedigen van Otamendi. Wat was die goed zeg. Ik heb nog nooit een verdediger gezien die een spits buitenspel duwt.' Zondag wacht de volgende belangrijke wedstrijd: De Klassieker. En bij Feyenoord kwam het nieuws naar buiten over de blessure van eerste doelman Justin Bijlow. ‘Die heeft een voetblessure en ze zijn nu aan het kijken of er een operatie noodzakelijk is. In dat geval, en die kans is groot, kan er een streep door zijn seizoen. Dat stelt Feyenoord wel voor een probleem. Orif Marciano is nu eerste doelman, maar daarachter zitten twee jonge keepers van 20 jaar. En een transfervrije doelman halen kan nu ook niet meer. Dus Marciano moet wel fit blijven.'
