Choosing To Be a Stay-At-Home Mom…Over and Over AgainWhen Karen Stapley’s family struggled financially, she tried to go back to work. But that path never opened, so she and her husband accepted the outcome and moved forward in faith.Despite resenting the stigma that BYU students who major in elementary education are doing so “just to get married and have children,” Karen Stapley did eventually leave her job as a teacher to become a stay-at-home mom. But that doesn’t mean she stopped teaching—she just switched to a different classroom. For the next 17 years, Karen taught at church, at young women’s camp, in her community, and especially in her home. Though an exceptional and entertaining teacher, she is more well-known in social circles for being creative, crafty, and inclusive. I dare you to find someone who has not felt love from this woman. But being home and available to the masses also came at a cost. When the housing crisis of 2008 hit the Stapley home with a vengeance, Karen tried to go back to work to help the family financially. But no doors opened. Earlier, when she returned from a trip to Ethiopia with a desire to start a non-profit organization that could increase literacy in developing countries, she got the same message. No.Through these experiences (and others like them), Karen faithfully acknowledges that the Lord has a plan for her life and for her career. Currently, that plan involves her being at home—ready and available to serve whenever and wherever she is needed. What You’ll Learn in this Episode:How Karen uses her education to serve her family and othersWhy she didn’t go back to work when her family fell on financial hardshipThe opportunities she had for personal growth while being homeMost Importantly: How she has seen the Lord’s hand in her career.Mentioned in this EpisodeDefinition of Career: An occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with opportunities for progress.

“When you feel like you’re stuck in your own head and you can’t get out of your own way, the best way to change that is to help someone else.” It was January 3rd 2011 when Chris Winfield finally checked into rehab after drinking since the age of 13. His addiction led to an isolated life, which had created a ‘god-sized’ hole that left him wanting more. On the outside, everything looked good. The company he co-founded employed over 100 people and grew to a bunch of offices, but he wasn’t happy. Then a piece of pizza changed his life. During a phone call where he was trying to save his imploding company, his 3 ½-year-old daughter appeared looking for breakfast. Chris wasn’t available. The sight of his daughter stretching up to the microwave to reheat her own pizza changed him in a heartbeat. If he couldn’t be available for the most important person in his life, something was drastically wrong. He had to do different. The pizza moment kick-started a daily habit that’s fueled and shaped Chris’s life ever since - and it’s all focused around helping. And with the law of reciprocity stirred into motion, Chris’ life transformed. “Whatever you put out is going to come back to you in some form.” Nowadays, Chris’s life is all about helping other people. As co-founder and CEO of Super Connector Media, Chris empowers entrepreneurs with their publicity and marketing so they can get their message out into the world. Do you consider yourself intuitive?I sure didn't. I believed intuition was for other lucky people and was never something that I could hone and practice. Boy was I wrong! I have since learned that our intuition is within us all, we just need to learn how to access it and trust it. And this is what my guest Natalie Miles and I speak about in today's episode.Natalie Miles is a Spiritual Mentor, Psychic Medium & host of the So You Think You’re Intuitive podcast. However, Natalie is not the typical psychic medium. It is her life’s mission and soul calling to inspire people across the globe to connect with their own intuition, so they can feel more connected and help themselves, each and every day. She believes that everyone is born intuitive, but most people have forgotten how to use their natural gifts. Natalie has been guided by Spirit to be “the door opener” and reactivate people with their intuition so they can live their most authentic life.IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL HEAR:Why she calls awakening a reactivation Why some of us are naturally more intuitive than othersWhy some children are exceptionally gifted and talentedThe first time she met her spirit guide as a childWhat it was like to be a highly intuitive childHow her childhood dog helped her family to awakenHer big life boulders that forced her to listen to SpiritWhy perceived disastrous things are actually signs to redirect youWhat shadow work is and why it’s importantWhy universal energy affects usHow we had similar dreams and we dream as a collectiveHow I need to open up to receiving messages via the dream stateUsing your imagination to connect to your intuition and really practicing and trusting what is comingWhat it’s like to be clairvoyant and how one see’s with the third eyeWhat our spirit guides are all about LINKS:Instagram @iamnataliemilesSo You Think You're Intuitive podcastA Guided Online workshop to learn how to connect with with your guides - Your's for 50% off, just use the code - PODCAST See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
