Grief and resilience are two of life's hardest teachers — and in this episode, Mohan Ranga Rao shares how he transformed unimaginable personal tragedy into insight, spiritual growth, and healing.Through the story of his blind daughter and her battle with cancer, Mohan explores how we can find meaning in suffering, develop emotional strength, and reframe grief not as an end but as a sacred passage. Drawing from Eastern philosophy on suffering, Mohan explains the roles of karma and dharma, the difference between pain and suffering, and how gratitude, compassion, and resilience are cultivated through hardship. If you're seeking answers to:Why bad things happen to good peopleHow to cope with devastating lossWhat it means to live a life with purpose after tragedyHow spiritual insights can help you heal…this conversation will give you more than comfort — it will offer you tools. You're a working mom who wants to lose weight, but you keep running into the same wall: who freaking has time to learn how to lose weight for the last time??That was exactly Emma's question when she was on maternity leave. Emma is an amazing, beloved Yummy Mummy client I invited onto the pod to speak about her experience. Before she joined, she knew she wanted to drop her post-pregnancy weight, but life was already bonkers with a newborn (she has 3 kids, after all!). Then add weight loss goals on top of it? It seemed like way too much to commit to.Emma had made so many attempts at weight loss over the years, she could tell you exactly how many calories are in a banana, but no approach seemed to work. They definitely didn't last. She was doubtful anything ever would. She didn't know what else was left that she hadn't already tried. You can see where I'm going with this ;) Emma joined the Yummy Mummy Experience (YMX) and found everything she'd been missing from the other weight loss strategies she'd been trying for years. Listen into our conversation and hear Emma share about:Why she decided to commit to YMX The doubts and fears she felt when she decided to lose weight for the last timeHow YMX provided the missing key that unlocked her weight lossWhat choice and freedom mean when it comes to a new food mindsetThe impact of the support and guidance of a true communityAnd mama, if Emma's message speaks to you, you're here at just the right time. Doors are currently OPEN for the next cohort of YMX! Today's guest is the wonderful Gina Livy.  Over the years I have received a lot of DMs from people asking me if I know Gina, if I'm familiar with her work and her weight loss approach. And my answer is always a resounding yes. And after today's conversation, I'm an even bigger fan than I was before.  We talk about her approach to weight-loss  in today's episode, BUT also get into her evolution as an entrepreneur, and getting told countless times that she's charging TOO LITTLE for what she offers. But as you'll hear,  she came out on top - building a multimillion dollar business (we're talking over 8 figures) - and she did that by following her gut. ***And I want to make the point that we do talk about weight-loss in this episode, and it can be a tricky subject to navigate. Especially because we just talked about body image last month on this very show. But I think it's important to note that the two subjects are not synonymous. Weight does not correlate with worth, and I want to recognize that there are a lot of unhealthy obsessions and messaging about weight that we still hear about today. But the fact remains that some of us, at different points in our lives, might want to take steps to lose weight for a variety of reasons. None of that is true. Weight loss success is relative. What works for someone with 20 pounds to lose isn't always going to work for somebody with 200 pounds to lose. In today's episode, I'll discuss the power of meeting yourself where you are, and how to be successful with sustainable weight loss. On this episode of Allison Answers, Kathryn Monaco-Douglas shares her inspiring story of turning tragedy into triumph by starting her own support group “Widowed Not Alone” for widows and widowers. Kathryn lost her husband when he was only 44 years old, and was told she had to wait 3 months before joining a support group. She also struggled to find a therapist she connected with and felt alone in her grief and pain.Kathryn felt that widows and widowers were missing adequate support in those early days of grief, and she was determined to change that. Kathryn became a grief coach and built support groups for people grieving the loss of their spouse. As Kathryn explains, grief is a complex and multi-layered process, and it's not something that can be overcome overnight. It takes time, patience, and the right kind of support to heal.Oftentimes, grief can grip us in a way that feels paralyzing and we get stuck in a fog that feels impossible to clear. Going about regular habits may not feel right, but Kathryn and Alison are here to tell you that you are strong and you have to keep going, but you don't have to do it alone. It's okay to ask for help, and there are many resources available for those who are grieving. Whether it's joining a support group, seeing a therapist, or talking to friends and family, there are many ways to get the help and support you need.In this episode, Kathryn explains how her support group for widows is different from others, how she felt she lost her identity when her husband died, how she navigated dating and re-marrying, the trauma and PTSD that can come with losing a spouse, and how her support group “Widowed Not Alone” is changing lives by bringing hope and healing.Key highlights:The loss of Kathryn's husbandHow Kathryn helps other widows navigate loss and griefWhy Widowed Not Alone is different from other grief programsThe identity loss that can happen after losing a partnerPTSD after lossWhat to look for in a therapistIf you are dealing with grief, don't hold it in - reach out for helpHow to get involved with Kathryn's programsConnect with Kathryn Monaco-Douglas:Website: widowednotalone.comInstagram: @widowednotalonePublic Facebook Page: St. Matthew's Young Widow and Widowers GroupConnect with Alison:Instagram: @alisonanswers | @lagercounselingWebsite: LagerCounseling.comYouTube: Alison AnswersFacebook: Alison Lager Lcsw CasacPurchase Alison's book: “The Wake Up Call”Alison Answers Facebook Group: Join HEREWomen of Excellence FB group: Join HERE

When water reaches the weaker soil that lacks the minerals needed to make it stronger, it normally washes it away. Because of this, farmland stays fertile much longer. Slow runoff, Increase infiltration and/or groundwater recharge, Increase soil water retention, Filtration of pollutants, More sustainable agriculture, Prevention of biodiversity lossWhat has he witnessed most on his farm as a benefit? Why did he start?Does it take special equipment? What crops has he learned work well together? What else has he learned in general? Is it profitable? What is he excited to try next? What is Stock Cropping?Where did this idea come from? What resources has he learned the most from? What livestock does he involve?Do each type of animal play a certain role? Can this work during cold or winter months? If not, where do those animals go during those months?Does he see this becoming wider spread? Is it profitable? What else does he want to share? What does success look like to him?Summarize Close w/ contact info

Some of what Jackie and I talk about is dark and might not be easy to listen to. But if you're a bereaved Mom, you'll understand. I think that at some point every bereaved Mom has thought she wants to be done with this life so she can be with her child in Spirit. And we have them more than once. I know I have. Let me be very clear: except in very rare cases, that does not mean we're suicidal. But that's the reality of this journey. We want to be here with our loved ones, and we want to be with our loved ones in Spirit. I'm grateful that Jackie was so open and vulnerable about her own dark night of the Soul and how she rose from that place that, as I said, we all go to on this journey.Jacqueline's son, Mario, went to Spirit in 2015 at the age of 22. At her lowest point, a yoga class helped her rise from her grief and connect with her son in a truly magical way.  In this episode we talk about:Journaling to rememberThe human body as a conduit for SpiritHow to differentiate between Spirit and our human ego when channelingHer experience of seeing Jesus when she was a small childThe step we often miss when we prayThe importance of stillness and being comfortable in it“Shining from within” in HeavenWhat her son, Mario, told her from Spirit about our feelingsHer advice to those who don't believe they're receiving signs from their child or other loved ones in SpiritThe magnet for miraclesThe role free will plays in our connection with our loved ones in SpiritThe connection between Angels and pairs of animalsHow things manifest in the Spirit world/HeavenWhat happens to our Soul right before we take our final breath in this lifeThe choice we each have when we experience great lossWhat happens when we don't allow our emotions to be feltYou can find Jackie on her Facebook page.

She struggled with yo-yo weight loss cycles and the emotional toll that comes with it. When her son was diagnosed with Autism, in her early 30's, she began researching and training in alternative care and treatment strategies. Once she began to feed her family real food, she saw and felt immediate improvements in the well-being of her entire family. She also began to explore the underlying emotional triggers that had led her to struggle with weight and health issues for so many years. She finally shed excess weight that had troubled her for decades when she uncovered and released her subconscious weight loss blockers. It was not about the food, and it was not about lack of self-control. With decades of experience, as well as her training as a certified Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, Emotional Weight Loss Coach, and Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Nancy has developed an approach based on “healing” and empowering her clients, allowing them to feel confident and to love themselves.
