Welcome back to The Dad Central Show! In today's episode we have the pleasure of diving into the topic of mentorship with our special guest, Kevin Harris. Kevin is the President of Radial Mentoring, an organization that offers free resources on mentoring. Throughout the conversation, Kevin reveals the story behind Radical Mentoring and how it all started with the founder, Regi Campbell. Feeling overwhelmed by the individual needs he encountered, Regi discovered that spending more time with fewer people could have a greater impact. This led him to form a mentor group with a diverse group of men, kickstarting the mentorship program's expansion. Now, Radical mentoring is active in over 550 churches across 42 states and 14 countries, helping leaders and churches implement effective mentoring programs through their support and resources. Kevin shares how the ministry is funded by those who have been impacted by it, allowing them to continue their vital work. But the episode isn't just about mentorship. Kevin delves into his personal experiences as a father and how they have shaped his outlook on life. Reflecting on his own upbringing and the discovery of what brings him life, Kevin offers valuable insights into finding balance, practicing self-care, and navigating challenging relationships. We also get a glimpse into Kevin's family life, from raising two boys heavily involved in baseball to the significance of his 16-year-old son driving out of the driveway for the first time. Through his own journey of forgiveness and healing, Kevin shares the impact of mentorship and the generational impact it can have. Throughout the episode, Kevin's passion for creating a culture where fathers can embrace their true selves shines through. He encourages men to seek mentorship, to share their stories, and to be authentic and vulnerable with their loved ones. By modeling these behaviors, Kevin believes we can positively impact future generations and create stronger families. Kevin Harris, president of Radical Mentoring, joins The Redeemed Man podcast. Radical Mentoring is a ministry facilitating group mentorship opportunities and helping individuals find the tools to lead groups. Rather than being one-on-one and topic-driven, the organization's group mentorship model, as envisioned by founder Regi Campbell, mirrors the conversations Jesus had with disciples and followers: open, freewheeling, sharing stories rather than giving lectures. “What we are saying is your qualifications to be a mentor are your life story, your life experiences, and your willingness to open your life up to younger men and tell them about some of the places you've been and the mistakes you've made,” explains Harris, who benefited from the group himself while dealing with depression and career-related stress. “Not just to have you teach us everything you know.”Visit The Redeemed's website for downloadable discussion question sets, show notes, inspirational articles, more resources, or to share your testimony.Join our Exclusive Newsletter: Signup today and be the first to get notified on upcoming podcasts and new resources! The Redeemed is an organization giving men from all backgrounds a supportive, judgment-free environment, grounded in Christian love without demanding participation in any faith tradition, where they can open up about their challenges, worries, and failures—and celebrate their triumphs over those struggles.Have a redemption story? In this episode, Jacob shares many stories from his upbringing that have led him to where he is today - running a non profit, a coaching business and a media company. Jacob shares the struggles that he faced along the way and the turning point in his life when he made a shift and didn't look back. Jacob made a list of the things that he couldn't live without - extreme sports, traveling, and helping people, and he found a way to build a life around them. This episode is packed full of inspiration. Jacob hopes to change the way people view skateboarders and after hearing this episode, you might just ponder the idea that skateboarders can do incredible work and also skate. Jacob Jenkins is a skateboarder and entrepreneur born in Charlotte, currently living in Phoenix. He moved to Arizona after backpacking around Central America for seven months and created Now Evolving Skateboarding Worldwide, a 501c3 nonprofit that focuses on building influential leaders through skateboarding while donating skateboards to foster care and feeding families in need. His inspiration came from seeing so many people around the world struggle and from the deep connection he had made with locals through the love of skateboarding. He made a commitment to himself that he would go back, build skateparks, and make the world a better place. He has donated over 100 skateboards through his nonprofit to local foster care and children in need around the world. The process is simple, when you buy a skateboard, NESW will donate one. He has also hosted the first skate competition in the Galapagos Islands, events in Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Arizona. But, his proudest accomplishment has been feeding families in need, consisting of a thanksgiving food drive where volunteers get together to deliver thanksgiving feasts to at-risk families throughout the holidays.Follow Jacob on InstagramGet a skateboard = donate a skateboard

But the catch is this: not everyone who is in leadership or has that title is skilled to pass on what is necessary for those following. The good news is that we all can learn how to do a better job IF we are open to learning what it really takes. This is what great leaders know, but you can too. On today’s episode, Jon sits down with Kevin Harris, President of Radical Mentoring, to talk about getting men involved in the church. A lot of men get on a career track and figure to make up for lost time at home and church later. They feel like they’re doing what they’re “supposed” to do, instead of what they’re “called” to do, but when you’re off-purpose, it’s exhausting. Once you align your life purpose and your calling, the exhaustion will slip away and you will begin to experience radical change. If you’re feeling stuck on the treadmill of life, you’ll want to listen in to this conversation to learn how, through mentoring, you can experience a life-change that brings you closer to God and matures you in discipleship and leadership in church. Kevin Harris is the President of Radical Mentoring, which is an intentional, small-group mentoring process to help church pastors engage men, build a core group of leaders, and transform their churches. He’s passionate about being a resource for church leaders that have incorporated small-group mentoring into their disciple-making strategy. Kevin and his wife live in Atlanta with their two sons. EP. 40 is here‼️ Regi Campbell, Founder of Radical Mentoring, joins the podcast. We are honored to have Regi on the podcast, as he shares his wisdom and insight in how radically mentors men. Regi has personally invested in 144 men through a small group setting. The success of these groups led Regi to found Radical Mentoring. “The only love that's real is the love that's demonstrated. That means you are opening up your heart, you are telling them your ugly stuff. You are opening up your network to them. Everything I have is available to you because I love you. I want for you this flourishing relationship with Jesus, with your wife, with your kids and with your church.” EP. 40 is brought to you by YOU! Shannon’s passion, in addition to helping others realize the freedom they receive from delegating, is to bring to light the challenges women face in the workplace. From finding the courage to ask your boss for a flexible schedule, to deciding if there is an option for you outside 100% full-time onsite office work and a 100% full-time stay at home mom.
