She spent 17 years working as a dancer in NYC, touring and teaching, and eventually creating the umbrella for her work, The Sacred Body. The nature of her work through The Sacred Body exists in three parts:  The first part is the sharing of practices of embodiment, and the reclamation of the body as sacred in all of its many forms. The second aspect is the support of the re-emergence of the sacred feminine, the honoring of women's wisdom, and the healing of the matrilineal lines. The third aspect is the remembrance of the power of ritual and ceremony to support these deeper experiences of embodiment and awakening. Her work through The Sacred Body has taken many forms, including, dance and performance, teaching, private movement and healing sessions, the holding of sacred space, the writing of poetry and prose, the creation of home and hearth, and the path of motherhood as a sacred movement into women's wisdom. Ultimately, her work is in service to creativity and healing, and the movement towards living an embodied life in harmony with the cycles of nature, and imbued with the power of spirit.

Vajra, Mala and Bell: Buddhist Practice Supports — Why they're indispensible in Vajrayana

Why are vajra, mala and bell called “practice supports” and what do they actually represent? Why is a Vajrayana Buddhist practitioner expected to always carry a vajra, mala and bell, at least symbolically? How can they be used in our daily, mundane lives to symbolically strengthen this bond? What are the guidelines for the use of a vajra, mala and bell?In this presentation, we try to answer these questions, and more, in our special coverage of the indispensable vajra, mala and bell. All three, together, represent, the most important veneration objects of Refuge in Buddhism: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Together represent the Sacred Body, Speech and Mind of the Enlightened Buddha. Importantly, they also represent Method, Dharma, and Wisdom. The vajra and bell are virtually synonymous with advanced Vajra yana tantric practice — together with the ubiquitous mala. Advanced practitioners also always have a one-handed Dhamaru drum representing blissful activity and wisdom.A Tibetan practitioner is rarely separated from these powerful meditational and ritual symbols, just as the vajra, mala and bell should never be separated from each other. In Tibetan, the sanskrit term Vajra translates as Dorje. The Bell, in Sanskrit is called a Ghanta. Even non-Buddhists might recognize the symbolism of vajra and bell immediately, among the most widely recognized symbols used in Buddhism.Literally, each time we meditate with the vajra, mala and bell, we are engaging with a symbolic compendium of teachings of the Buddha: the Body, Speech and Mind of Buddha. We think of them in that order: Body, Speech and Mind of Buddha, or Compassion, Dharma and Wisdom, or Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.Support the show

When it comes to spiritual practice, we tend to again see the body as secondary. Yet, what if the body is the vehicle for the transformation of consciousness? In this episode we talk about how it important for us to STOP shaming our sacred bodies and how we can begin to love them. I introduce the concept of connecting with your feminine energy and sensuality, and how embracing pleasure will help you to create more energy so you will be fulfilled in so many areas in both your personal and professional life. When you own your sensuality as a woman, we free ourselves from guilt and shame. We break down the walls and allows our pleasure and creativity to flourish, your confidence and body image will soar, and your relationships will deepen. In your sacred body, lies a power and pleasure beyond what you have been told or could ever imagine. When you learn how to connect with this power it is life changing. Embracing pleasure and sensuality does the following things for you: 1) Reducing stress, 2) Embracing love and intimacy and 3) Awakening your sensuality. This is a sacred invitation for you as a woman to come home to love and accept all of you. To rewrite the narrative of our body, so that we can connect with our femininity and sensuality. “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”  1 Cor. 11:24We begin, today, the Triduum—the three great celebrations of our Catholic Faith.  Yes, there are numerous celebrations that take place throughout the year.  But these three celebrations are the heart of our faith and are the culmination of all of our worship.  We begin today with the celebration of the Lord's gift of the Most Holy Eucharist given through the priesthood He instituted.  Tomorrow we enter into the mystery of His Crucifixion.  Saturday after sundown we enter into the glory of His Resurrection. On Holy Thursday evening, we begin the Triduum with the commemoration of the Last Supper.  This event in history, which took place as a Passover meal shared with Jesus and His Apostles, begins the gift that brings us salvation. On Holy Thursday, we hear the Lord say for the first time, “This is my body that is for you.”  We hear Him point to the gift of the Holy Eucharist as His gift to us, given for our holiness and fulfillment.  It's a gift we will never be able to fathom or comprehend.  It's the gift of His complete self-giving and sacrificial love.If we could only understand the Eucharist!  If we could only understand this precious and sacred gift!  The Eucharist is God Himself, present in our world, and given to us to transform us into that which we consume.  The Eucharist, in a real way, transforms us into Christ Himself.  As we consume the Holy Eucharist, we are drawn into the divine life of the Most Holy Trinity.  We are made one with God and are given the food of eternity.   On that first Holy Thursday, Jesus also offered an example of the perfect humility and service that we are called to imitate as we become one with Him.  He washed the feet of His Apostles so as to teach them and us that His Body and Blood are given so as to enable us to love as He loved.  The Eucharist transforms us into true servants who are called to humility.  We are called to humble service of others.  This service will take on various forms but it is what we are called to.  Do you serve those around you?  Do you humble yourself before others to care for their most basic needs?  Do you show them you love them by your actions?  This is at the heart of Holy Thursday.  Humble service is a beautiful expression of our own intimate union with the Son of God.So often, true “greatness” is misunderstood.  Greatness is often perceived with a secular understanding of success and admiration.  Too often we want others to admire our accomplishments.  But Jesus offers another view of greatness.  On Holy Thursday, He shows that true greatness is found in this humble act of service.  Imitating Him requires that we surrender our pride.  And this is made possible when we consume the Holy Eucharist with faith.  The Eucharist enables us to love and serve others in this humble way.  And that love and service is an act that will win the hearts and souls of others for the Kingdom of God.As we celebrate Holy Thursday, we are all challenged to ponder our humility and to commit ourselves to a radical and total gift of self to others.  Reflect, this night, upon whether or not you imitate the humility of our Lord.  Are you committed to seeking ways in which you can serve others, showing them you love and care for them?  Let Holy Thursday transform you so that you can imitate the great love that Jesus offered us on this glorious night. My humble Lord, help me to understand what it means to be a servant.  Help me to live this humility in my actions.  May the gift of Your most Sacred Body and Blood transform me into the person You desire me to be.  Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2022 My Catholic Life! I highly recommend Tantric Physics I & II!"First explored in Tantric Physics Vol. I: Cave of the Numinous, the new release from Anathema Publishing, Tantric Physics II: Sacred Body, Sacred Space continues to express the haunting inner realizations of initiatic perceptions. Embracing both the right-hand and left-hand paths, the text reveals a unique vision of a Tantric physics utilizing all branches of Vaidika sciences: Yoga, Ayurveda, Jyotish, Vedanta, and Tantra."Far from a dry academic text, Tantric Physics II: Sacred Body, Sacred Space reveals an intensely personal initiatic vision of the human body, Shivaite and Vaishnava gnostic streams, and the mysterious path of the Aghori leading unto the Womb of the Dark Goddess in all her intoxicating manifestations."The intro music is “Awakening” by Paul Avgerinos (magnatune.com/artists/albums/avgerinos-gnosis?song=3) and the outro music is “Diana Nemorensis (A Ritual in Four Parts)” by Noumenal Vibes x Giulia Turolla (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnHKyfY_Paw). In the second half of the interview in the Chamber of Reflection, Craig and I continue to discuss Tantric Physics, diving very, very deeply into an exploration of gnosis, gnostic bliss, birth and death, and much more. In all my years of recording this podcast, few interviews have resulted in a more in-depth analysis and a discussion that goes straight to the heart. Did anything unusual happen when St Philip received Holy Communion during his Mass? In this episode we read about some of the things that characterized the way St Philip received Communion after he was ordained. Fr Gallonio reports that St Philip showed an incredible eagerness to receive the Sacred Body of Christ and drink the Precious Blood. Those who were close testify that St Philip seemed to be tasting something very delightful. We know that St Philip would wear off the gilding at the rim of the chalice. St Philip even left his teeth marks in the chalice. What are we to make of these details? What do they mean? Last episode we read about the way the Holy Spirit filled St Philip's heart and body with the effects of divine love during Mass. The Mass is the gift of Christ's love. The Mass is where the love of Christ is made most present to us. The Eucharist is the means by which we become loving persons. It is as though the Holy Spirit made St Philip into a living lesson about the value of the Mass. As many sections of Europe in the 16th century were rejecting the Mass and forgetting about its power, the Holy Spirit did marvels in the life of St Philip during Mass. St Philip reminds us that the Mass is where we encounter the Holy Spirit and are filled with the love of God.

Has your relationship with your body kept you from embracing all that you are capable of? As women, we receive the message that our bodies are shameful and even dangerous at a young age. We are taught not to trust our bodies and to tame them to others' expectations. In today's episode, I share with you the name I've created for this experience:  The Sacred Body Wound Almost every woman carries the Sacred Body Wound, and it impacts the way we treat ourselves and interact with the world. Do you struggle with identifying and processing emotions and feelings? Do you feel ashamed of your body? Do you battle with an eating disorder or otherwise self-harm? Do you avoid exploring your sexuality, or hyper-focus on diets and weight loss? These are examples of the Sacred Body Wound at work, and it affects each woman differently.  Regardless of how this wound manifests in your life, its primary goal is to make you forget how sacred, miraculous, and wondrous your body is.  Combatting this wound plays a vital part in our paths toward embodied healing and self-liberation. And giving a name to this wound is the first step toward winning that battle.  Join me in today's episode to learn more about The Sacred Body Wound and how to begin to heal it in your life. Listen to episode 354 now! In episode 354 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss: [2:51] How the practice of naming can empower you in your path toward embodied healing [6:24] Questions that can help you identify patterns and gauge your healing progress [9:40] How naming our wounds can help us to remove personal identification [10:54] What the sacred body wound is and why it's important to combat it [15:49] How we begin to experience the sacred body wound even as young girls [17:20] What to do now that you can name the wound that separates you from fully embracing your sacred body

At this powerful time of human isolation, let us remember one of our most potent inner medicines which we may simply call upon to heal and be stronger, the power of breath. Pranayama, the practice of breathing in harmony with universal rhythms was handed down by the world's oldest known cosmic physicists, scientists - the Vedic seers of the Hindu Tradition. This knowledge of prana, along with numerous breath practices can help us to seal health and keep us in harmony with our universe.Prana is the kinetic force of the universe.  It causes  the earth's movement around the sun.  This earth - a mass heap of dirt becomes a mobile dynamic entity - vibrating with complex life, because of prana.  She is made alive, and in turn, generates the life source for every human and organism which dwell on her.  Prana moves the air, water, nerves, and memory cells, and controls expansion and contraction of the earth's surface.  The ebb and flow of the oceans and the moon's orbit around the earth is propelled by prana. Prana controls the breath of the planetary heart.  The fantastic rise of heart-related diseases and other health impairments are due, in part, to the dysfunction of bodily prana.  When breath suffers, sadness prevails.  This eternal breath moves the entire universe.  Imagine the earth spinning in her galactic dance with other planets in the cosmos.  What a gorgeous feat it is to observe prana.  The breath of the planet is the source of vitalization and renewal.  When this layer of energy is sickened, the earth and her inhabitants exude fear, pain, tremors, and spasms.Support the show (http://paypal.me/wiseearth)
