Reclaiming Confidence Through Movement and Healing with Amy Schadt - Ep.325

Wickedly Smart Women

What if your body held the key to the confidence, clarity, and creative power you've been chasing in your mind? In a culture that rewards logic, productivity, and stillness, so many women have been shamed into silence, not just verbally, but physically. In this episode of Wickedly Smart Women, host Anjel B. Hartwell interviews Amy Schadt, certified life coach and embodiment expert, to explore what it means to reclaim movement. Amy shares her journey from being a shy, voiceless child to a dynamic force for healing through her Radical Embodiment Method. From her early years as a dancer to the profound loss of her fiancé and the grief that followed, Amy opens up about how embodiment has been both her refuge and revolution.  Whether you're a creative aching for space to breathe, a woman recovering from trauma, or a leader craving more alignment in your entrepreneurial journey, this episode is your map. Because when you come back to your body, you come back to your power. What You Will Learn: Movement can be a powerful and valid form of communication, especially for those who struggle to express themselves verbally. Early childhood movement, like dance or physical play, is a natural way of processing emotion. Embodiment is not just a trendy concept, it's a deeply personal journey of reclaiming presence, sensation, and self-expression. Personal loss, such as the death of a loved one, can become a catalyst for transformation and rebirth through embodied healing. Entrepreneurship can be an empowering path for creatives who want to earn income in alignment with their values and passions. Many creatives struggle with subconscious beliefs that money is harmful or will rob them of authenticity. Embodied practices can help entrepreneurs navigate fear, burnout, and identity shifts as they step into leadership. Physical movement can support emotional regulation and self-soothing. Healing the body-mind disconnect can unlock access to deeper self-awareness, personal power, and creative flow. Shame around moving “too much” or “being too much” is often rooted in outdated expectations and can be released through embodiment work. Connect with Amy Schadt Website Connect with Anjel B. Healing the Inner Child for True Transformation with Anat Peri - Ep.324

How many times have you convinced yourself you were healing—reading the books, attending the workshops, repeating affirmations—only to find yourself stuck in the same cycles? In this episode of Wickedly Smart Women, host Anjel B. Hartwell interviews Anat Peri, inner child expert. Anat dismantles the illusion of surface-level self-development and invites us into a deeper, more embodied path to transformation.  Anat's story is a masterclass in surrender, resilience, and leadership. She pulls back the curtain on why mindset alone isn't enough and how emotional resiliency is the true foundation of freedom.  If you've ever felt like you're “doing the work” but not actually changing, this episode might just be the wake-up call you need. What You Will Learn: How growing up with a “just think positive” mindset can unintentionally lead to emotional suppression and anxiety. Even a seemingly trauma-free childhood can create hidden wounds that shape adult behavior and relationships. The impact of emotionally unavailable parenting on future romantic patterns and the development of codependency. How traditional healing methods like mindset work and NLP often fall short without addressing the body and nervous system. What it means to live in your head versus being fully embodied. The difference between awareness and actual healing. What it's like to rebuild your life guided by intuition instead of external validation or cultural expectations. How working at the Chopra Center supported Anat's reconnection with herself through meditation and holistic practices. Why transformation can feel like walking through fire and why it's worth every uncomfortable step. The origin story of Training Camp for the Soul and how Anat turned her healing into a powerful business. Emotional resilience and nervous system capacity are important in being an effective coach or healer. How Anat's Mastery Certification Program equips coaches with more than tools. Why you can't just coach from your own healing story and what makes a sustainable coaching method. Connect with Anat Peri Training Camp for the Soul Connect with Anjel B. In this session, I explore why so many of us feel lost in modern life and why meaning seems to be slipping through our fingers. We'll tackle the big questions—how did we get here? Why are birth rates plummeting? Why does hedonism leave us empty? And what did Nietzsche mean when he said, “God is dead”? I'll unpack the four horsemen of the meaning apocalypse—nihilism, narcissism, consumerism, and distraction—and why so many people today struggle to find purpose. But it's not all doom and gloom. I'll also share practical solutions for reconnecting with what really matters—your body, your community, nature, and a deeper sense of purpose. In this fascinating conversation, Dr. Anna Lembke, Stanford Psychiatry Professor and author of Dopamine Nation, unravels the secrets of addiction and the delicate balance between pleasure and pain. We explore topics such as the neuroscience of kink, the psychology of addictive personalities, and how contemporary issues have reshaped our culture. We delve into the psychology of craving, the lessons addicts can teach us about resilience, and practical steps anyone can take to avoid falling into dopamine traps. This episode might challenge some of your conventional thinking (hello pain) while offering grounded, science-based advice for living a more balanced and intentional life - to make sure you get a bit of aftercare to ease the journey. Description: The Embodiment Coaching PodcastA twice-weekly conversational offering for coaches, embodiment teachers and anyone who sees the body as more than a hunk of meat.Embodiment Unlimited hosts Mark Walsh, Karin Van Maan and Christina Dohr interview leaders and innovators from embodied disciplines. Mindfulness, trauma therapy, martial arts, meditation, somatics, yoga, and movement practices generally, are all discussed, with educators, academics and experts from around the world. The flavour is usually light-hearted and practical.Website:www.embodimentunlimited.comTakeaways: The podcast review emphasizes the importance of knowing your podcast's purpose and audience. They mentioned networking but later said they would judge their success by gaining more business. Audio quality is crucial; a muddy introduction can deter potential listeners significantly. All the pre-recorded spots needed improvement. Networking through podcasting can be as valuable as achieving high download numbers. Hosts should strive for engaging dialogue rather than a formal question-answer format. Clear calls to action are essential for directing listeners to your offerings effectively. Using storytelling effectively can enhance listener engagement during interviews and discussions. We both thought things "picked up about 13 minutes when you got to a topic that inspired a little more passion in the guest, and the conversation became a little more conversational and casual. The courage to talk about some topics that people may shy away from was a positive step. People love opinions, and living of fear of upsetting people is no way to live. There is a name for those people, "Not your target audience."The website would look better with the newer version of the Libsyn player. The follow buttons could be a bit more uniform and update date. Hello and welcome to "Peaceful by Nature." I'm your host, Sage Simpson, and today I'm thrilled to present a deeply personal and insightful conversation with the wonderful Joy Clarissa Taylor. This is a genuine, vulnerable exploration into the realms of grief, femininity, feelings, releasing the grip of over-exercise and under-eating, embodiment, and the profound ways in which awakening happens within and through our bodies. In this episode, Joy and I delve into the complex terrain of grief, sharing our own stories and experiences with an openness that allows for genuine connection. It's a candid conversation that acknowledges the messiness of life and the beauty found within those moments of vulnerability. Our journeys have been profoundly transformed by yoga, and we take a moment to share the impact it has had on our lives. From the physical practice to the spiritual and emotional dimensions, we discuss how yoga has become a transformative force. The concept of embodiment takes center stage in our conversation, and that awakening is in and through the physicality of our being. It's a perspective that encourages a deeper connection with ourselves and a more conscious presence in our daily lives. Jennifer Lynn is an embodiment coach for mamas. It is her ultimate passion and life's mission to elevate and raise the collective consciousness via attuning and connecting to our children. She believes that personal transformation happens when focusing on healing the self and reparenting the inner child, which allows mamas to more deeply and energetically connect to their children. Jennifer has been on her healing journey for over 15 years and during that time studied Shamanism, Reiki, Meditation, Energy Healing, and Holistic Health and Nutrition. She takes an encompassed approach to supporting mamas on their path of transformation and evolution, incorporating pieces of all her many studies and modalities in her work with women. She empowers her clients to awaken their feminine wisdom so they can embody the divine qualities of her truest self, and in doing so embody and model for her kids the mama who is healed, the mama who is whole. Two talks on decadence from Mark's recent workshops in Bled, Slovenia.   Mark covers "Falling back in love with ourselves", "How to actually enjoy life and "The antidote to decadence." www.embodimentunlimited.com for community, courses and free stuff from the leaders in the field of embodiment. Mark on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/warkmalsh/   "In a decadent society people die from comfort, fail from ease, and hate life because of luxury. We have an excess of food so die of heart attacks and the like. This is established. The easiest products to buy are high sugar, high processed fats, alcohol etc. We are surrounded by dopamine mouth crack, and then told we need willpower to diet. The deep satisfactions of life are also only found the other side of HARD too. Finding purpose is uncomfortable until it's a joy. Long-term relationships are sometimes uncomfortable as well as a joy. Deep spiritual practice is uncomfortable as well as a joy. Growth is hard. People are hard. Life is hard FFS!"
