I remember that when I joined Fox 4 in the early '90s, I was assigned to cover the Mad Hatter's Tea & Luncheon, and I said, "Man, these Texans are living up to their reputation. Everything is bigger in Texas. Everything is flashy and more glamorous in Texas!" That's why I invited my next guests on the show. They are the leaders of the Mad Hatter's Tea & Luncheon this year. Shane Walker is a hat designer, and he's really critical to the success of the show. Therese Rourk is the president of the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum, and Sarah Friedman is the chair of this year's event.

Joseph Hogue of the YouTube channel "Let's Talk About Money with Joseph Hogue" says investors want to keep the bulk of their money in simple buy-and-hold strategies and shouldn't be swayed by wild recommendations coming from the blogging and podcasting community, but also says that they should scratch the itch of their fun side -- if they have one -- by taking controlled chances with the fun-money portion of their portfolio. Jillian Johnsrud, host of the "Retire Often" podcast, discusses why and how people should plan regular breaks and re-sets in their career. Shane Walker, chief executive officer at Qube Money, talks about how modern tools are helping consumers take control of their money in ways that, until recently, would not have been possible. Financial adviser Jim Blankenship — the blogger behind "Financial Ducks in a Row" — talks about why consumers and investors are feeling uncomfortable with the stock market in record-high territory. Ava Johns, affiliate marketing specialist at Turbotenant.com discusses how affiliate marketing is used by influencers and popular blogs and podcasts, and how consumers may want to pay attention to how those deals work. Plus Joe Saul-Sehy of the Stacking Benjamins podcast gives his impressions of how FinCon — and the world of bloggers, podcasters and content creators — has changed over the years.
On this week's episode of Behind the Roar turn back the clock with two of Wests Tigers ‘Originals' who played in the club's first season in the NRL, and in the very first match against the Broncos at Campbelltown. We chat to WT Player #8 Shane Walker – who zooms in from his worksite – and WT Player #15 John Skandalis – who strolls in from his worksite, the corporate sales suite at the Zurich Centre. Both players reminisce about the good old days, excited about Saturday's past players get together at Campbelltown, when suddenly informed mid-recording that former teammate, WT Player #4, had passed away. We talk about Terry - the footballer and the larrikin, we look at a couple of key battles that will take place on Saturday evening, including the match-up between two of the game's best props, Stefano Utoikamanu and Payne Haas. We also discuss the move of John Bateman to lock, the impending NRL debut of former Super Rugby star Solomon Alaimalo, and the rising stars involved in junior rep Grand Finals on Saturday at CommBank Stadium. All that and more on episode 48 of Behind the Roar!
In this week's episode of Behind the Roar we chat to Wests Tigers very first captain, Darren Senter. Senter played 226 NRL games in total over 13 seasons. He made his debut with Canterbury Bulldogs in 1992, playing three seasons at Belmore before joining Balmain in 1995, where he played five seasons there. He played another five seasons at West Tigers but decided to hang up the boots in 2004. Despite missing out on the club's maiden premiership in 2005, he's got no regrets about making that tough decision. Senter was one of the more experienced heads in the side during an era that saw the emergence of future Wests Tigers greats, like Benji Marshall, Robbie Farah and Chris Heighington. He talks fondly of all three men. A hard-nosed hooker who was fitter than a fiddle, Senter draws some comparisons between the team from the early 2000s and the current squad. “We had a few really experienced guys like Terry Hill, Jarrod McCracken, Shane Walker and me, and then there was this batch of young guys coming through like Benji and Robbie.” Ahead of our first home game in Campbelltown this season, Darren recalls the buzz around the place ahead of the team's very first game at the same venue against the Broncos in 2000. He says it was also at Campbelltown where he played perhaps the best game of his career. We also chat about life after footy, the importance of staying connected with former teammates, why family matters so much, and the origins of his nickname ‘Hollywood'.
On May 18, 1989, 2-year-old Christopher Dansby was playing with his mother at the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers playground in Harlem, New York. His mother, Allison Dansby, needed to run an errand and left Christopher in the care of her own mother. Upon Allison's return, Christopher was nowhere to be found, vanishing without a trace. Then, nearly three months later on August 10, 1989, one-year-old Shane Anthony Walker was also at the same playground in Harlem with his mother, Rosa Glover, when Rosa was momentarily distracted, Shane disappeared. The circumstances of these disappearances raise questions, was there a potential connection in these cases or was this an inexplicable coincidence? Regardless these cases have baffled not only investigators, but the families and their community alike. Anyone with information about Shane or Christopher is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1800-577-TIPS or you can call the New York Police Department at 646-610-6914 or the New York Housing Police Department at 212-410-8500. 8 Click here to join our Patreon. During 1989, three unrelated African American baby boys went missing under mysterious circumstances from New York. Andre Bryant, a one month old baby boy disappeared from Brooklyn, and his mother, Monique Rivera was found murdered the next day. He has never been located. Christopher Dansby, a 2-year-old baby boy went missing from a park located near the Martin Luther King, Jr. apartment complex in May 1989. Three months after Christopher went missing, 18-month-old Shane Walker went missing from this same park under eerily similar circumstances. In 1989 two toddlers, Christopher Dansby and Shane Walker, went missing from the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers Playground in Harlem. Their case remains unsolved, and the boys have never been found. There were some other missing children that some believe could be connected with the disappearances of Christopher and Shane. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Christopher Dansby's and Shane Walker's disappearances. In the beginning, the police did not believe that the two were connected. But, eventually, they came to believe that a connection was possible. Eyewitnesses gave descriptions of a man in each disappearance. Some theorize that both boys were abducted as part of an illegal adoption ring. As mentioned before, the death of Alonzo Brooks was basically reopened because of the attention that the show brought. Another story that has gotten renewed attention centers around the disappearance of Christopher Dansby and Shane Walker. Both kids were abducted from a Manhattan playground in 1989. Both kids have not been seen since.“It's like a nightmare, and everyday you wake up, and you're still in the nightmare. Some days, I just don't want to go on,” Allison Dansby, who was 26 when her son disappeared, said in 2014. She elaborated on her tragic experiences in the Unsolved Mysteries episode. With these kids now having been missing for over 30 years, hope is starting to dwindle. However, without any bodies found, there is still a chance for the families to be reunited. For those that haven't seen the episode or heard of the case, Here's what we know about the circumstances of the children's disappearances.Support the show

Today I am discussing the disappearances of Christopher Dansby and Shane Walker from New York City in 1989. These incidents are so similar that putting them together just makes sense. Both were black, male, toddlers, taken from The Martin Luther King Jr. Park 3 months apart, around the same time of day, on the same day of the week. Not only that, but their families also lived in the same building of the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers just 2 floors apart from each other. And perhaps most chilling of all, both toddlers were last seen playing with the same set of children before they went missing. Christopher Dansby went missing from The Martin Luther King Jr playground in New York City on May 18th, 1989, when he was just 2 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, floral print shirt, blue jeans, and green and white sneakers. Christopher is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He has a figure 8 scar on his thigh. He would be in his early 30's now. Shane Walker went missing from the same park on August 10th, 1989, when he was just 19 months old. He was last seen wearing a blue and white shirt, light blue pants, and white LA gear sneakers. Shane is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his chin and a birthmark shaped like a liver on his shoulder. He would also be in his early 30's now. Anyone with information about the disappearance of either child is urged to contact The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1800-843-5678 or the New York City Police Department at 212-694-7781. This week we take a look at the tragic disappearances of Christopher and Shane. On May 18, 1989, 2yr old, Christopher Dansby disappeared from a seemingly crowded park in Harlem. In an even more horrifying twist, a mere 3 months later on August 10, 1989, in the same Harlem park, 1yr old, Shane Walker disappeared. What draws so many to this case is the bizarre parallels these cases share. The boys lived in the same apartment complex. The disappeared at the same playground, same day of the week, at approximately the same time of day. There are some witnesses that say they saw both children playing with two same children at the time of their disappearances. Unfortunately, to this day, both cases remain unsolved. Budgeting…yes, we know. It's the thing that everyone says is super important but nobody does. 90% of us don't have a budget and 5% of people actually keep to one. But budgeting is power, it's what helps you ensure that your money has purpose and that your purpose is getting the resources it needs to thrive. It's also what puts you back in control instead of being disoriented in a whirlwind of debits and credits, deposits and payments. Your budget is your first line of defense in making sure what you care about aligns with what you're actually doing. Great, so you're in, except budgeting is cumbersome. Envelope systems don't align with how we spend and share money responsibilities but most digital solutions put the burden on the backend, having you tag and sort expenses into categories after you've already made the spending decision. But you need a front gate, not just a security camera. Enter Qube Money - the digital envelope app/bank/card that allows you to define your budget, allocate money to expenses in real time, and easily share access to that budget and money with your spouse or partner. Shane Walker, Co-Founder of Qube Money talks us through how it works as well as how his solution is helping people take control of their money and its purpose.

Shane was last seen at Martin Luther King Jr. Towers' playground in Manhattan, New York on August 10, 1989. Shane was sitting on a bench eating potato chips with his mother, Rosa Glover, when two children approached him and asked if he wanted to play. Rosa allowed the children, a ten year old girl and her five year old brother, to push Shane on the swing while she sat nearby. While the children were playing on the slide, a man sat down beside Rosa and began speaking to her about crime. He mentioned abduction; saying "things happen to children". Rosa then got distracted by looking at the man's scars, which he claimed were from fighting, and when she looked up the children were gone. The children returned through a hole in the park fence. After they explained that they'd left Shane in the park Rosa immediately took them to the police station to report her son missing. In 1989 There was a rash of infant abductions in the New York area. Three baby boys Andre Bryant, Shane Walker and Christopher Dansby would be abducted and never seen again. Andre was abducted from Brooklyn, his mother Monique Rivera also went missing and found shortly thereafter brutally murdered. The other two boys from the same Martin Luther King tower Park in Harlem, under shockingly similar circumstances. This is part one of two and in these episodes we get into what could have potentially been going on and what may have happened to these babies.Patreon: Patreon.com/julesandashleyPatreon.com/thetrailwentcoldAlso, please check out the Charley Project pages for all three of these missing infants:http://charleyproject.org/case/andre-terrence-bryanthttp://charleyproject.org/case/christopher-milton-dansbyhttp://charleyproject.org/case/shane-anthony-walkerAdditional Reading:http://crimefeed.com/2017/05/baby-snatching-case/http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/30/grace.coldcase.walker/index.htmlhttp://abc7ny.com/chilling-cold-case-mom-faces-park-where-son-disappeared/3127138/https://www.trailwentcold.com/2018/03/14/the-trail-went-cold-episode-63-andre-bryant-christopher-dansby-and-shane-walker/

Shane Walker is Co-founder, Executive Vice President, and Chief Marketing Officer of Qube Money. He grew up on a farm in Weiser, Idaho, and is the 9th of 12 children. His dad was a teacher, and his mom ran their large household. Money was scarce. The only time the family went out to eat was to get a free hamburger and cutie ice cream cone at McDonald's during report card time. Imagine a family of 14 bringing in 10 report cards for free hamburgers at McDonald's... Shane began working at age 8, hoeing beets and changing sprinklers to help support the family. He remembers his dad making work fun by taking a dip in the river mid-afternoon. While they worked, his dad would often say, "Isn't this fun?" Shane has learned to enjoy working and to do his very, very best in everything he does. Shane has transitioned this approach to life in everything he does. He graduated with a master's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. In his Junior year of college, he partnered with a couple of his friends to build Elite Sales, which became one of the largest door-to-door pest control sales companies in America. After college, Shane started Walker Financial and is a leader in the financial space. Shane has achieved top honors, including Million Dollar Round Table, a leading producer with Guardian Life Insurance, and both Double Platinum and Top Income Earner with Team National. He is an accomplished trainer and speaker. He's taught audiences as large as 8,000 and has a track record for deeply engaging people. Shane joined co-founder Ryan Clark to create Qube Money. As the executive vice president, Shane's dream is to help millions of people across the globe rise above living paycheck-to-paycheck, eliminate debt permanently, and empower people to experience more abundance, more joy, and more peace with money.

Christopher Dansby and Shane Walker, known to their parents and siblings as joyful, bundles of happiness to their small families, were innocuous and innocent children of Harlem, New York City, New York. Their carefree benevolence and youthful wonder were cut short by unexplainable, unsolved disappearances in May and August of 1989, leaving all who knew them across the neighbourhoods of the Big Apple grasping for answers in a sea of evidence that drowned us all in doubt…As a hope to provide more substantial reasoning built upon observable evidence and situational analysis, this is an examination of the Dansby and Walker vanishings, and the confounding mystery at the Martin Luther King Jr. playground in New York, New York. This is Cold Case Detective...Christopher Dansby and Shane Walker Case File Photographs: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P8udkij1eteZRXp-v_xgN1vf26MzOfBJ?usp=sharingAdditional Research & Information:[Main Reddit Thread][WABC-TV Article][CNN Article][PIX11 Article][Morbidology Profile][Shane Walker NamUs Profile][Christopher Dansby NamUs Profile]Researched and written by TJ RueschEpisode narrated by William EarlMusic by CO.AG________Our episodes deal with serious and often distressing incidents. Kun samasta naapurustosta alkoi kadota poikavauvoja 1980- luvun loppupuolella, poliisit ja alueen asukkaat olivat ymmällään. March 29, 1989. Brooklyn, New York. A 22-year old African-American woman named Monique Rivera and her six-week old son, Andre Bryant, leave on a shopping trip with two unidentified women, but never return. The following day, Monique's murdered body is discovered in a wooded area, but Andre is nowhere to be found. Within the next four-and-a-half months, two more African-American infants from the New York City area, two-year old Christopher Dansby and 20-month old Shane Walker, are abducted under strikingly similar circumstances from the same playground and never seen again. Could there have been a connection between the disappearances of Andre, Christopher and Shane? We will be examining all three of these unsolved cases on this week's episode of "The Trail Went Cold". Special thanks to listener Cecily Cooper for narrating the opening of this episode.
