Born in New Haven, CT, Heidi Lender began her career reporting on the fashion universe for national magazines, writing features and styling photo shoots throughout her twenties. With a BA in apparel and textiles from Cornell University, she covered style and travel from New York to Paris, where she served as Fashion Director and Associate Bureau Chief of Women's Wear Daily and W Magazine. After Paris she went to India, where she lived part-time while studying yoga for the next eight years. In 2007, she opened and taught at a yoga studio in San Francisco, and two years later she discovered her creative self in photography. Self-taught, she began by creating self-portraits and realised a meaningful way to make sense of the world and her place in it. Her images are often based in self-inquiry that stem from personal experiences, relationships and/or investigate identity. She is represented by galleries in the U.S. and Uruguay and has exhibited internationally. Heidi is a founding member of the online collective Six Shooters, has twice been a Critical Mass finalist, received recognition from the likes of the Pollux Awards and the Julia Margaret Cameron Award. Her work has been featured in PDN and Rangefinder magazines and in online photo blogs including CNN, NPR and the New Yorker's Photo Booth. Editorial credits include WSJ Magazine, Disegno Journal and Grey Magazine. In 2014, Kehrer Verlag published the photography book “Grassland” under Lender's pseudonym, H. Lee. She currently resides on an 80-acre ranch in Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay, where she has founded CAMPO, a nonprofit creative institute supporting international artists (www.campogarzon.org).In this episode and her discussion with Anne, Heidi recounts her impulsive decision to leave her burgeoning career as a fashion director in Paris at the young age of 26. A pivotal moment in Heidi's personal story, she tells Anne, is her discovery of Garzón, Uruguay. During an impromptu trip to South America, she stumbled upon her dream home in the quaint village, which became the birthplace of CAMPO. Heidi describes to Anne how her passion for photography flourishes in this picturesque setting, where the art of self-portraiture becomes a therapeutic outlet and a means of self-expression. The episode highlights how photography, combined with mindfulness practices, has been a crucial part of Heidi's healing journey.Heidi then goes deeper into the founding and growth of CAMPO, which has evolved into a sanctuary for artists, chefs and writers from around the world. Heidi articulates her vision of creating transformative experiences for both residents and attendees, fostering a sense of community through artistic collaboration. The festival, now a three-day event with a month-long residency program, is using the theme "unsettled" this year. The theme explores migration and movement, thus reflecting Heidi's own journey of continuous reinvention.***Are you curious about Anne's Coaching & Consulting:Feeling lost or burnt out? Her tale is marked by personal challenges, including a divorce and the emotional rollercoaster of IVF, which she bravely shares with Anne. Heidi's journey of self-discovery and resilience is punctuated by her immersion into the world of yoga, where she trained under the renowned Pattabhi Jois, finding solace and a renewed sense of purpose.Prompted by Heidi expressing the realizations she had while shopping in Goa, Anne shares a similar experience from her recent trip to Greece, emphasizing the significance of unique, locally crafted fashion. Anne also speaks candidly about her battle with rheumatoid arthritis and how yoga has been instrumental in her physical and emotional well-being, noting that movement does indeed help with pain, despite seeming counterintuitive. The episode takes a reflective turn as Heidi shares the trials and tribulations she faced during her attempts at conceiving through IVF, eventually leading her to embrace a different life path with acceptance and grace.A pivotal moment in Heidi's personal story, she tells Anne, is her discovery of Garzon, Uruguay. Short notice shop tour adventure we made this past Friday to go see one of our friends that is known as the BILLBOARD of the Six Shooters we have had him on before in a episode but we dived deeper into the career of Ryan Nelson from watching his father race and remembering the first times he was going to a race track to the involvement he had in a SCCA Team racing through out the years with his family, to dirt racing and now circle track racing today. We also covered the grind of point racing and racing for a championship along with Tech after the races and some of the improvements should be done, along with the spectacle of his getting hammered adventure up at CMP and his ROOT job of Yeaton at Lee Speedway, and much much more

Plot: (Tuckers notes from https://www.moviehousememories.com/tombstone-1993-summary/)Tombstone and the surrounding area of Cochise County are controlled by the ultra-violent, outlaw gang known as the Cowboys in 1879. The Cowboys are identified by the red sashes that they wear around the waists. The gang is led by “Curly Bill” Brocius (Powers Boothe) and his second in command, Johnny Ringo (Michael Biehn). As the film begins, the Cowboys ride into a Mexican town and interrupt the wedding of a local police officer. The gang proceeds to kill the attending policemen, as well as a priest who curses them for their violence. The educated Ringo tells Curly Bill that the priest was quoting the bible and referencing the infamous fourth horseman of the apocalypse before the gunman killed him.Meanwhile, Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) arrives in Tucson, Arizona where he reunites with his brothers Virgil (Sam Elliott) and Morgan (Bill Paxton) and their wives. The retired police officer has plans to settle down in Tombstone and begin a business with his brothers. At the same time, Wyatt's friend Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer) makes his way to Tombstone with his traveling companion Big Nose Kate (Joanna Pacula) in hopes that the dry climate will mitigate his tuberculosis.Once in Tombstone, Wyatt takes over an interest in a Pharaoh game at a local saloon from the abusive Johnny Tyler (Billy Bob Thornton). Wyatt is approached by Mayor John Clum (Terry O'Quinn) who tries to convince Wyatt to become a law enforcement officer, but Wyatt tells him that he wants to remain retired. The Earps make a deal with the local corrupt Cochise County Sheriff Johnny Behan (Jon Tenney) to purchase lots for homes at the edge of town. Actors Josephine Marcus (Dana Delany) and Mr. Fabian (Billy Zane) also arrive in town the same day as Wyatt and his brothers, as does Holiday. The violence continues to increase in town and Virgil begins to have difficulty turning a blind eye to the Cowboys' dirty deeds. Additionally, the Cowboys appear to not appreciate the Earps and Holiday in town either and make veiled threats against them. At the same time, a romance begins to blossom between Wyatt and Josephine despite Wyatt living with his common-law wife Mattie Blaylock (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson). Mattie is succumbing to an addiction to laudanum.One-night, Curly Bill begins shooting up the town after he leaves an opium den. The town law enforcement officer, Marshall Fred White (Harry Carey Jr.), goes out into the street to disarm the intoxicated gunman. Curly Bill shoots White while playing around with his guns. Wyatt knocks Curly Bill out and disarms him, placing him in custody. The arrest angers two Cowboys, Ike and Billy Clanton (Stephen Lang and Thomas Haden Church), who demand that Wyatt release their leader. Holiday and Virgil rush in to back up Wyatt and Curly Bill is placed into jail. However, a few days later, the criminal case against Curly Bill is dismissed due to a lack of witnesses.Virgil reaches his limit and his conscious compels him to become the new town marshal. Wyatt is furious with his brothers as Morgan becomes Virgil's deputy. Virgil implements an ordinance that everyone is required to surrender their firearms in the town limits. The Cowboys are not fond of Virgil's law, and the Clantons get into a confrontation with Virgil after getting drunk one night at the saloon. The Clantons return the next day with some other Cowboys, drunk and armed. Virgil decides to go down and disarm them at the OK Corral. Wyatt, Holiday, and Morgan join him. A gun fight ensues in which Billy Clanton and the McLaury brothers are killed. Virgil and Morgan are both wounded in the exchange. Ike Clanton is the only survivor of the Cowboys in the gunfight.A short time later, the Cowboys enact revenge on the Earps, killing Morgan and severely wounding Virgil. Virgil survives the attack but loses the use of his arm. Wyatt and his family decide to leave Tombstone. Before leaving, Wyatt tells Curly Bill that it is over, but the gang leader tells Ike to take some men and kill Wyatt and Virgil. At the train station, Wyatt has anticipated the ambush and kills one of the gunmen and disarms Ike. Wyatt is joined by Holiday and three former Cowboys, Sherman McMasters (Michael Rooker), “Turkey Creek” Jack Johnson (Buck Taylor), and John “Texas Jack” Vermillion (Peter Sherayko). Wyatt has taken up the badge of a U.S. Marshall and warns Ike that he is coming to kill all the Cowboys before turning the Cowboy loose.Wyatt's posse systematically kills all the Cowboys that they encounter. In one incident, Wyatt's group finds themselves pinned in by Curly Bill and his gang near a creek. Wyatt walks directly into the line of fire and kills the Cowboys' leader and several of his men while simultaneously avoiding being shot hit himself. Holiday's health continues to deteriorate while they are on the hunt for Cowboys. Wyatt is forced to leave Holiday at Henry Hooker's (Charlton Heston) ranch when he is challenged by Ringo to a one on one gun fight. Before leaving, Holiday tells Wyatt that he can't beat the Cowboy gunfighter. However, Holiday shows up to the gun fight in Wyatt's place and kills Ringo. With the leadership eliminated, Wyatt's group finishes the job of killing the remaining Cowboys.Sometime after the events in Tombstone, Holiday is sent to a sanatorium in Colorado where he is slowly dying from tuberculosis. Wyatt continually visits his friend despite Holiday's requests for him not to. Holiday implores Wyatt to forget him and pursue Josephine to begin a new life together. Wyatt leaves his old friend, who dies shortly afterwards. Wyatt reunites with Josephine and they begin a romance together that lasted until his death in 1929. Stephens Notes:-This movie is REALLY 90's, the overacting, music, cinematography-The early part of the movie, up until the Cowboys meet Wyatt Erp was pretty slow pacing-wise-Doc Holiday is the best character in the movie... Great attitude and not giving a fuck. -Mattie shown being in active opioid addiction is surprising for a film made in 1993.-I like that scene when Bill walks out of the opium den, and the camera tracks up, along with his high. Then comes back down, when the marshal comes out.-Did Curly Bill mean to shoot the marshal? -I like to symbolism of Wyatt changing jackets after being sworn in.-When they're walking to the OK Corral, the building on fire, see one guy throw one bucket of water on it then run away. Hilarious.-The ol' Mexican standoff-They lit up Thomas Hayden Church's character, damn-What does "You're a daisy if you do" mean? And "Im your huckleberry"?-Wyatt is eating with chop sticks after the shootout, is that period correct? -The whole storm scene is super overly dramatic-Wyatt has literal blood on his hands, very subtle-When Wyatt is leaving with Morgans body, Curly Bill is sitting in front of a store that says, "Fresh Fish Delivered Daily"... Where from and how? There wasn't ice then.-Have to admit good horse stunt work on the film -Got to wonder how legal it is/was just going after the whole gang. Assuming they all killed people?-Curly Bill is a shitty shot when he's in water...-Wonder if there were tension about Doc Holiday getting all the best lines?-Is Billy, with the glasses, who touches Billy Zanes hand, is he gay?-How did Doc beat Wyatt to Johnny Ringo?-It's actually pretty dangerous to ride a horse full speed through a grass field like that, if there's a hole or something you don't see, you can take a header.-Docs last words, "I'll be damned though, this is funny"-So Wyatt left Mattie and got Josephine, lived happily ever after? Top Five Trivia of the movie: 5: The tombstone at the beginning of the movie that states, "Here lies Lester Moore, Four Slugs from a .44, No Les No more," is a real tombstone in Tombstone, AZ.4: The filmmakers behind Tombstone paid attention to historical accuracy and even put Wyatt Earp's real life fifth cousin, Wyatt Earp III, in the movie as Billy Claiborne.3: all of the lines spoken by the actors during the pivotal scene at the O.K. Corral are said to be historically accurate, based on different historical sources, like newspaper reports from Tombstone that chronicled the famous shootout, so Doc Holiday did say, 'You're a daisy if you do!'2: In the film, Curly Bill is depicted as deliberately shooting Fred White, killing him instantly. In reality, Curly Bill claimed that the gun accidentally discharged as White attempted to take the weapon from him. White, who had been shot in the groin, not in the chest as portrayed in the film, survived for two days and corroborated Brocius' story before succumbing to his injuries. It was White's testimony, not a lack of witnesses, that ultimately exonerated Curly Bill. For his part, Bill expressed genuine remorse over White's death, as he had personally liked the marshal, despite their being on opposite sides of the law.1: As extraordinary as the scene is in which Wyatt kills Curly Bill Brocius in the creek, it is true. During the shoot-out in the creek, when Wyatt kills Curly Bill, the next person he shoots is Johnny Barnes (the cowboy who yells "Jesus Christ!"). As in real life, Wyatt shoots Barnes in the stomach. However, Barnes was not killed on-site. He managed to escape, and died in a farmhouse. However, before dying, he told the story of how Wyatt really did walk into a hail of Curly Bill's gunfire unscathed, walked right up to Bill, and shot him point blank with both barrels of a double-barreled shotgun. July 13: Dave is Beyond ExcitedDave sets up a system to listen to 3 radio stations at the same time. He is trying to catch songs that the band can add to their setlist(which is aging). Dave gets hosed as he calls in a request to a radio station. His voice gets played over the airwaves (but not his request). He ventures to Lentine's music to buy a microphone stand so John can sing backups. Last week the band had Lee attempt to sing. With some work, the band could pull off some harmonies. He finds some really great music that is getting a lot of air-play and sends it via voice-mail to the John and Kevin. He ends the night by buying two CD with tunes that the band wants to do. He practices his guitar and breaks in the new (used) volume pedal.July 17: Kevin Closes the DealIt seems like Christmas Eve at work. John, Kevin and Dave are wondering if Santa will put a paying gig in their stocking. Kevin makes numerous trips trying to catch Chuck. He finally does, and the band celebrates Christmas in July as Santa delivers a weekend gig at Cappy's. Yes, Six Shooter will retake the stage at Cappy's Pub in Louisville Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3. Dave is gone from excited to spastic. The band realizes they all need to move the “Six Shooter Project” up the priority scales in their lives. This date is much sooner than expected and the band has been caught with their pants drooping. The only way to catch up is to practice whenever possible. If we stick to Tuesday only practices, it means only practicing two times before playing out. We also need to produce some tapes of tunes to play between sets, and some lights. It's a tall order to fill, and we need to keep productive.July 20: July PracticeThe band scrambles to put together a Saturday practice. John, Kevin, and Dave work together while waiting for Lee. They go over and over some rough spots. With Lee on his drummer throne around 5:30, the band launches into sets three, and two. They make sure to correct any spots that need correcting. It's one of the most productive practices we've had. The practicing that has been happening behind the scenes is starting to pay off. The band launches into set one. A few changes are made to the lineup.Along the way a few songs get dusted off, and I feel we're pretty focused on plowing through the songs. We will always dick off too much during practice. However, this was about as productive as Six Shooter gets. We make some good progress and lay the groundwork for Tuesday. Practice is ended so a slightly miffed Maria can go to a food festival.John and Dave go to KFC for dinner only to find that IT NO LONGER EXISTS!! The two venture over to John's and duplicate tapes.July 25: Let there Be LightAfter finding out that Cappy's Pub has zero in terms of lighting, John and Dave decide they better act now to ensure that some type of lighting is present for the gig next week. They go to Stambaugh's and Big Lots and purchase colored floodlights and sockets. They then return to John's house to wire the lights together. The band gets a boost when Dave gets the light-board his old band “Assault” use to use over 15 years ago. Fourteen out of 16 switches work on the board. The band currently has 4 lights now. This may not be enough. Tuesday is the last practice before the gig. Pressure is mounting. Kevin has put a radio in his new (used ) car, and is practicing like a mad man. Dave has made some tapes to play in between sets. Meanwhile, everyone can hear the clock ticking away.July 28: Kevin Throws Out His BackAfter a night of dancing at Maria's brother's wedding, Kevin's back is a mess. After going to a chiropractor, Kevin finds out he has an enlarged disk in his back. The bottom line is he can't get out of bed. Bummer.July 29: Dave Visit's Cappy'sWith Kevin gimped out, Dave runs some posters announcing Six Shooter's appearance to the bar. Dave sees the band's name on the marquee. Thank God Chuck got it right (no Six ShooterS). He ventures up to the stage and sees that there are some normal lights on the front of the stage. Dave also finds out that the ceiling of the stage is about 2 inches higher than his head. Kevin is improving, but still very stiff.July 30: One Last PracticeThe boys get together to work out a few rough spots. We sound pretty good. Even songs like “Aint Goin Down Till the Sun Comes Up” sound good. We're as ready as we're going to be. John brings the lights and wedges them into the speaker cabinets. We fire them up, and find it doesn't look too bad. One thing is obvious-these lights throw off enough heat to fry an egg. Dave will probably get a tan during the first set. Another good note is Kevin is able to stand now-hooray!!! He is still in quite a bit of pain. The band is crossing their fingers, toes, eyes, and anything else they can find in hopes that Kevin will heal up quickly.July 31: Dave and John Take a long LunchJohn ventures into Dave's office (climbing over mountains of paper). Dave talks John into going to the “Musician's Bargain Basement” in Kenmore to look at a soundboard the band discussed last night. Dave is pretty sure that they can get back in an hour. The duo flies through White Castle on the way and decides to try the new “Greasy Bastard” sandwich. This takes a little longer than planned.Upon arriving at the basement, they check out the board. The duo is assisted by Fred. Fred has the worst toupee in the world, and Dave is slightly afraid of him. The board is a 12 channel mixer by Ross. It's in fair shape (in need of a good cleaning-lots of static). John thinks it's salvageable, and they pick it up for $299. This should make setting up and tearing down about 200% easier. John has a fun project tonight, and a date with some contact cleaner.Unfortunately, they have about 7 minutes to get back to Canton, and Dave needs to stop for gas. Ooops. Being the swell employees they are, they figure on working a little over tonight.
Eleonora Ronconi is a photographer originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, now a resident of the Bay Area. I first saw Eleonora's work via the Six Shooters project have followed her work ever since. Most recently I was pleased to see her work again at this year's Medium Festival of Photography, where she was showing her series "Serás Mis Ojos," a beautiful body of work about memory and family. In this episode we talked about that series as well as her other work, how photography allowed her to find her voice, and where she finds inspiration. (Conversation recorded November 17, 2017.)
