It's partly responsible for the creation of the PG-13 rating.Truth be told, it's Steven Spielberg who is really responsible for the introduction of the PG-13 rating. Both Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, which he directed, and Gremlins, which he executive produced, were rated PG upon their release, and subsequently criticized for not being kid-appropriate. To avoid being slapped with an R rating in the future, Spielberg suggested that the MPAA add a rating between PG and R. On August 10, 1984, Red Dawn became the first movie to be released with the new PG-13 rating. 2. Howie Mandel is the voice of Gizmo. It was the suggestion of voice actor Frank Welker, who voiced Stripe in Gremlins (and Fred on Scooby-Doo before that), that Howie Mandel be hired for the role. Phoebe Cates was a controversial casting choice.Given her sweet demeanor as Kate, it's hard to imagine that not everyone was on board with casting Cates. But her infamous topless scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High gave the studio pause about putting her in the lead. Kingston Falls and Hill Valley are one and the same.If the fictional town of Kingston Falls in Gremlins looks familiar, that's because it was filmed on the same set used for the town of Hill Valley in Back to the Future, which wasreleased a year later. At one point, Gizmo and Stripe were supposed to be the same creature. It was also at Spielberg's suggestion that Gizmo's role in the film grew. Originally, it's the cute little Mogwai pet himself who transforms into Stripe the Gremlin. But Spielberg knew that audiences would want to see as much of Gizmo as possible, so he withdrew the idea so that they would appear as totally separate characters.  **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**Trey 3Chris 1.5Stephen 2.5Tucker 2 TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 Saving Private Ryan3 Ghostbusters4 Sandlot5 Color out of space Chris:1. sandlots2. Ben Affleck had been sitting in the car earlier listening to music, before the scene was shot, and had accidentally taken the keys with him when he left. The chips in Ribis's casino were made by American Standard Molding. This is the same company that makes a lot of sets for home games and casinos. A few of the actors have starred in other films together. Giovanni Ribisi has starred with Scott Caan in Gone In Sixty Second and with Vin Diesel in Saving Private Ryan. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**Trey 1Chris 4StephenTucker 1 TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 Saving Private Ryan3 Ghostbusters4 Sandlot5 Color out of space Chris:1. sandlots2. Edgar Allan Poe's shaved muse. No awards, but garnered high praise when it came out. First Time you saw the movie? Plot:In AD 932, King Arthur and his squire, Patsy, travel Britain searching for men to join the Knights of the Round Table. Along the way, Arthur debates whether swallows could carry coconuts, passes through a town infected with the Black Death, recounts receiving Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake to two anarcho-syndicalist peasants, defeats the Black Knight and observes an impromptu witch trial. He recruits Sir Bedevere the Wise, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Galahad the Pure, and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, along with their squires and Robin's minstrels. Arthur leads the knights to Camelot, but, after a musical number, changes his mind, deeming it "a silly place". As they turn away, God appears and orders Arthur to find the Holy Grail. Arthur and his knights arrive at a castle occupied by French soldiers, who claim to have the Grail and taunt the Britons, driving them back with a barrage of barnyard animals. Bedevere concocts a plan to sneak in using a Trojan Rabbit, but no one hides inside it, and the Britons are forced to flee when it is flung back at them. Arthur decides the knights should go their separate ways to search for the Grail.A modern-day historian filming a documentary on the Arthurian legends is killed by an unknown knight on horseback, triggering a police investigation. Arthur and Bedevere are given directions by an old man and attempt to satisfy the strange requests of the dreaded Knights Who Say "Ni!" Sir Robin avoids a fight with a Three-Headed Knight by running away while the heads are arguing amongst themselves. Sir Galahad is led by a grail-shaped beacon to Castle Anthrax, which is occupied exclusively by young women, who wish to be punished for misleading him, but he is unwillingly "rescued" by Lancelot. Lancelot receives an arrow-shot note from Swamp Castle. Believing the note is from a lady being forced to marry against her will, he storms the castle and slaughters several members of the wedding party, only to discover the note is from an effeminate prince. Arthur and his knights regroup and are joined by three new knights, as well as Brother Maynard and his monk brethren. They meet Tim the Enchanter, who directs them to a cave where the location of the Grail is said to be written. The entrance to the cave is guarded by the Rabbit of Caerbannog. Underestimating it, the knights attack, but the Rabbit easily kills Bors, Gawain and Ector. Arthur uses the "Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch", provided by Brother Maynard, to destroy the creature. Inside the cave, they find an inscription from Joseph of Arimathea, directing them to Castle Aarrgh. An animated cave monster devours Brother Maynard, but Arthur and the knights escape after the animator unexpectedly suffers a fatal heart attack. The knights approach the Bridge of Death, where the bridge-keeper demands they answer three questions in order to pass or else be cast into the Gorge of Eternal Peril. Lancelot easily answers simple questions and crosses. Robin is defeated by an unexpectedly difficult question, and Galahad fails an easy one; both are magically flung into the gorge. When Arthur asks for clarification on an obscure question about swallows, the bridge-keeper cannot answer and is himself thrown into the gorge. Arthur and Bedevere cannot find Lancelot, unaware that he has been arrested by police investigating the historian's death. The pair reach Castle Aarrgh, but find it occupied by the French soldiers. After being repelled by showers of manure, they summon an army of knights and prepare to assault the castle. As the army charges, the police arrive, arrest Arthur and Bedevere for the murder of the historian and break the camera, ending the film.  TOP 51: Done on an incredibly small budget, the Pythons found funding from an unlikely sources—rock bands. Groups like Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, and Pink Floyd helped get the money up for the production, with a portion of the funds coming from the Floyd's album “The Dark Side of the Moon.” This is a trend that would continue later with The Life of Brian, when a large portion of the funding came from former Beatle George Harrison. When Harrison was asked why he funded the film, he responded “Because I wanted to see it.” 2: The film also represents the directorial debuts of both Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam, who decided that anyone named Terry got to direct the Pythons' first film. Attempting to co-direct at the same time led to conflicts, so the Terrys split up the responsibilities with Jones handling the actors while Gilliam worked on the cinematography. They'd go on to direct the remaining Python films together and Jones would additionally direct Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, while Gilliam's lengthy directorial career would include such artistic classics as The Fisher King, Brazil, Time Bandits, Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, and more. 3: The vicious Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog had parts of its fur dyed red to represent the blood of the knights that it spilt with its large, pointy teeth. Unfortunately, the dye used wouldn't wash out afterwards and the rabbit's owner was furious. 4: By the time the Pythons actually got around to doing the credits, they'd run out of money. As a result, the credits were very simple and Palin decided to spice them up a bit by adding the Swedish subtitles and llama references. When the film was shown for the first time at Cannes, firemen rushed in at the end of the credits to evacuate the audience due to a bomb scare. The crowd didn't leave at first because they thought it was part of the show. 5: n part due to the low budget, Chapman and Cleese did all their own stunts for the Black Knight scene. The two used heavy swords and some acrobatics for added realism. Connie Booth had brought her and Cleese's young daughter to the filming, who during the fight turned to her mum and said “Daddy doesn't like that man, does he?” **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**TreyChrisStephen 1.5Tucker 3 TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 Saving Private Ryan3 Ghostbusters4 Sandlot5 Color out of space Chris:1. sandlots2. Edgar Allan Poe's shaved muse. The film was nominated for eleven Academy Awards at the 71st annual ceremony, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Tom Hanks, and Best Original Screenplay. The film won five of these, including Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Film Editing, and Best Director for Spielberg, his second win in that category. After the film lost the Best Picture award to Shakespeare in Love, many film pundits criticized the Academy's decision not to award the film with the Best Picture Oscar and has continued to be considered as one of the biggest snubs in the ceremony's history. The film also won the Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Director, the BAFTA Award for Special Effects and Sound, the Directors Guild of America Award, a Grammy Award for Best Film Soundtrack, the Producers Guild of America Golden Laurel Award, and the Saturn Award for Best Action, Adventure, or Thriller Film. Saving Piivate Ryan comes in at #71 of AFI's First Time you saw the movie? Plot: An elderly veteran visits the Normandy Cemetery with his family. At a specific grave, he is overcome with emotion and begins to recall his time as a soldier. On the morning of June 6, 1944, the U.S. Army lands at Omaha Beach as part of the Normandy invasion. Captain John H. Miller leads his command, Company C, 2nd Ranger Battalion in a breakout from the beach. The staff at the United States Department of War learns that James Francis Ryan of the 101st Airborne Division is missing and presumed to be the last survivor of four brothers who are all in the military. General George C. Marshall orders Ryan to be found and sent home so that his family will not lose all its sons. Miller is ordered to lead a detachment in finding Ryan. As they arrive in the contested town of Neuville between German defenders and the 101st Airborne, Caparzo is killed by a German sniper. Miller and his men find a paratrooper named Ryan but he is not the one for whom they are searching, and they are directed to a rally point where James Francis Ryan's unit should be. Miller learns that Ryan is defending a key bridge in the town of Ramelle. En route, Miller decides against the judgment of his soldiers to neutralize a German machine gun nest, which results in Wade's death. A surviving German soldier is spared by the intervention of Upham, the detachment's interpreter, who is unused to the horrors of combat. Miller blindfolds the soldier, who has been nicknamed "Steamboat Willie", and orders him to surrender to the next Allied patrol. When Reiben threatens to desert, Miller defuses the situation by calmly telling a story that reveals his civilian background as a teacher and baseball coach, of which he has not previously spoken, and which has been the subject of much speculation among his men and a pool of about $300. Upon arriving in Ramelle, Miller's detachment makes contact with Ryan and informs him of his brothers' deaths. Though deeply upset, Ryan refuses to abandon his post defending the town's bridge, and the town soon comes under siege by attacking Germans. Miller assumes command as the only officer present. He and his unit fight alongside the 101st, but the German armor advantage takes a toll on the Americans. Jackson, Mellish and Horvath are killed along with most of the paratroopers as the Americans retreat across the town's bridge. During the final assault on the bridge, Steamboat Willie reappears and shoots Miller as he attempts to blow the bridge with pre-placed explosives, but before the German force can capture it American P-51 Mustang fighter planes and Sherman tanks arrive and halt their advance. Upham confronts Steamboat Willie, who attempts to talk Upham into letting him go again; Upham instead shoots and kills him. The mortally wounded Miller tells Ryan to "earn this" before dying, referring to the sacrifices others have made so that Ryan can have a postwar life. Returning to the present, Ryan is revealed to be the elderly veteran and the grave to be Miller's. Ryan expresses gratitude for the sacrifices made by Miller and his men, says he hopes he "earned it", and salutes the grave.  TOP 51: The plot was loosely inspired by the true story of the Niland brothersScreenwriter Robert Rodat was initially inspired to write Saving Private Ryan when he saw a monument to the four sons of Agnes Allison, who were all killed in the American Civil War. However, when the premise got into the hands of producer Mark Gordon and eventually director Steven Spielberg, inspiration came from the true story of the Niland brothers. They were four brothers fighting in World War II.Two of them died and two survived. However, it was initially thought that only one of them survived, as the other one was missing and presumed dead. He turned out to be a prisoner of war in a Japanese internment camp. 2: Steven Spielberg would've released the movie with an NC-17 ratingWhile he was making Saving Private Ryan, Steven Spielberg feared that the movie's brutal violence would lead the MPAA to assign it an NC-17 rating. Big Hollywood studios usually strive to avoid NC-17 ratings like the Bubonic Plague, and make whatever cuts are necessary to change the rating, because they're box office poison. Some theaters won't show them and the ones that will show them can only admit audience members over a certain age. But Spielberg was so happy with Saving Private Ryan that if it had come back from the MPAA with an NC-17 rating, he still would've released it. 3: The gunfire sound effects are authenticTo acquire the right sound effects for the guns used in the movie, Saving Private Ryan's sound team went to a live machine gun firing range near Atlanta that was owned by a weapons manufacturer. There, they sourced all of the period-specific weaponry that was being used in the movie, that they needed to find the sounds for, and they just started firing them at the shooting range. 4: Saving Private Ryan is the last non-digitally edited Best Film Editing winnerPretty much every movie in the last 20 years has been digitally edited because digital editing – while losing some of the soul of the filmmaking process – is a lot cheaper, easier, and more secure than the old “cutting room” method. Saving Private Ryan was the last movie to be edited using non-digital technology to win the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. Every subsequent winner of the Oscar for editing has been edited digitally. And digital isn't going away any time soon, so Saving Private Ryan will probably hold onto the distinction of last non-digitally edited Best Film Editing winner indefinitely. 5: The D-Day landings sequence cost $11 millionSaving Private Ryan's opening D-Day landings scene took up a hefty chunk of the film's $70 million budget, costing $11 million to pull off. Steven Spielberg decided chose not to storyboard the sequence at all, instead letting the action tell him where to point the camera (he elected to use a handheld camera for the scene) on the days of shooting. The producers recruited 40 barrels of fake blood and more than 1,000 extras for the scene. Between 20 and 30 of these extras were amputees who could be fitted with prosthetic limbs for the sole purpose of being blown off in explosions. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** - Dude on top of the tank at the end who didn't move, and got blown up. The trio responds by establishing "Ghostbusters", a paranormal investigation and elimination service operating out of a disused firehouse. They develop high-tech nuclear-powered equipment to capture and contain ghosts, although business is initially slow. After a paranormal encounter in her apartment, cellist Dana Barrett calls the Ghostbusters. She recounts witnessing a demonic dog-like creature in her refrigerator utter a single word: "Zuul". Ray and Egon research Zuul and details of Dana's building while Peter inspects her apartment and unsuccessfully attempts to seduce her. The Ghostbusters are hired to remove a gluttonous ghost, Slimer, from the Sedgewick Hotel. Having failed to properly test their equipment, Egon warns the group that crossing the energy streams of their proton pack weapons could cause a catastrophic explosion. They capture the ghost and deposit it in an ecto-containment unit under the firehouse. Supernatural activity rapidly increases across the city and the Ghostbusters become famous; they hire a fourth member, Winston Zeddemore, to cope with the growing demand. Suspicious of the Ghostbusters, Environmental Protection Agency inspector Walter Peck asks to evaluate their equipment but Peter rebuffs him. Egon warns that the containment unit is nearing capacity and supernatural energy is surging across the city. Peter meets with Dana and informs her Zuul was a demigod worshipped as a servant to "Gozer the Gozerian", a shapeshifting god of destruction. Upon returning home, she is possessed by Zuul; a similar entity possesses her neighbor, Louis Tully. Peter arrives and finds the possessed Dana/Zuul claiming to be "the Gatekeeper". Louis is brought to Egon by police officers and claims he is "Vinz Clortho, the Keymaster". The Ghostbusters agree to keep the pair separated. Peck returns with law enforcement and city workers to have the Ghostbusters arrested and their containment unit deactivated, causing an explosion that releases the captured ghosts. Louis/Vinz escapes in the confusion and makes his way to the apartment building to join Dana/Zuul. In jail, Ray and Egon reveal Ivo Shandor, leader of a Gozer-worshipping cult, designed Dana's building to function as an antenna to attract and concentrate spiritual energy to summon Gozer and bring about the apocalypse. Faced with supernatural chaos across the city, the Ghostbusters convince the mayor to release them. The Ghostbusters travel to the apartment building roof as Dana/Zuul and Louis/Vinz open the gate between dimensions and transform into demonic dogs. Gozer appears as a woman and attacks the Ghostbusters then disappears when they attempt to retaliate. Her disembodied voice demands the Ghostbusters "choose the form of the destructor". Ray inadvertently recalls a beloved corporate mascot from his childhood, and Gozer reappears as a gigantic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that begins destroying the city. Against his earlier advice, Egon instructs the team to cross their proton energy streams at the dimensional gate. The resulting explosion destroys Gozer's avatar, banishing it back to its dimension, and closes the gateway. The Ghostbusters rescue Dana and Louis from the wreckage and are welcomed on the street as heroes.  TOP 5Before the Ghostbusters become established in New York City, they release a commercial to advertise their services. The three original members — Peter Venkman (Bill Murrey), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) — appear on television, with the number 555-2368. During the film's theatrical release in 1984, Ivan Reritman ran that very same commercial, which allowed people to call in. Callers would hear a pre-recorded message from Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, who announced that they were unable to answer as they were busy busting ghosts! The number received 1,000 calls every hour, 24 hours a day, for several weeks! Sadly, the line is no longer operational, so if you're being troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night, or you're experiencing feelings of dread in your basement or attic, we don't know what to tell you!“Ghostbusters” is such an iconic title — so much so, that many fans still haven't noticed that, following the opening scene in the New York Public Library in the original 1984 film, the title that appears on the screen is actually two words and not one, reading “Ghost Busters”! Before the filmmakers settled on the now iconic title, Dan Aykroyd originally considered the title “Ghost Smashers”, while “Ghostbreakers” was also an option. The sign outside the Ghostbusters fire station in New York even had variations of these titles during production. “Ghostbusters” wasn't available because of Filmation's Ghostbusters (1975), an unrelated TV series (there's also a 1986 cartoon). In the end, Columbia Pictures obtained the rights, while The Real Ghostbusters (1986 — 1991) was so named to distinguish it from the Filmation version.Despite becoming one of the most iconic characters in the entire Ghostbusters franchise, Slimer is never actually name-dropped in either of the two movies, Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II (1989). However, he was referred to as “Onionhead” by the crew of the original film. The “ugly little spud” wasn't actually named “Slimer” until the animated show, The Real Ghostbusters, in which he's part of the team. It's this that inspired his more friendly cameo in Ghostbusters II, in which he offers Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) a ride in a town car. Slimer isn't the only ghost in the original movie who isn't referred to by the name we now know him by Gozer's two minions, Vinz Clortho/the keymaster and Zuul/the gatekeeper are never referred to as "terror dogs", despite the hellhounds now being synonymous with the name.As well as being called “Onionhead” by the crew members of the original 1984 film, Slimer also went by another name — “The Ghost of John Belushi”, something Dan Aykroyd started. Aykroyd has since confirmed that Slimer was heavily inspired by the late John Belushi. For starters, the green spook's hankering for food was based on Belushi's cafeteria scene in National Lampoon's Animal House (1978). The role of Peter Venkman was originally written for the actor, however, he passed away while Aykroyd was working on the script in early 1984. While there are no direct references to the actor in the film, there are plenty throughout IDW's Ghostbusters comic book series, some of which even feature Belushi's character, “Joliet” Jake Blues, from The Blues Brothers (1980), which also stars Dan Aykroyd as Elwood Blues.Once the Ghostbusters cross the streams, the rift between the two dimensions causes the Marshmallow Man to explode, raining down marshmallow on the unsuspecting New Yorkers below. But getting that amount of actual marshmallows to dump on the film's extras was implausible. Instead, Edlund's team collected 500-gallon batches of shaving cream to substitute for the remnants of Mr. Stay-Puft. William Atherton, who played EPA villain Walter Peck, was skeptical about having such a large amount of heavy cream dropped on him, so they tested the idea on a stuntman using only 75 pounds, and it knocked him to the ground. The stuntman was okay, and another smaller batch was collected to dump on Atherton for the final take in the film. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**TreyChrisStephen .5Tucker .5 TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Ghostbuster4 Sandlot5 Color out of space  Chris:1. sandlots2. Wonder who recorded it and how old they were. "Superbeast" - Humphrey, Zombie, Charlie Clouser 3:40 3rd single, released June 3, 1999Sounds like all Zombie songs; heavy and abrassive. Very 90's/2000's sound. The video is hilarious. "Dragula" - Humphrey, Zombie 3:42 Lead Single from the Album, Released Aug 24, 1998Gerat song, catchy riff, I will always associate this song with The Matrix. The audio clip "superstition, fear and jealousy" heard at the beginning of the song is a sample of dialogue from the 1960 horror film The City of the Dead (also known as Horror Hotel), and is spoken by Christopher Lee "Living Dead Girl" - Humphrey, Zombie 3:21 Second Single released Feb 16, 1999I didn't realize I knew this song, never knew the name of it. Again, all sound similar. Heavy and gritty. "Perversion 99" - Humphrey, Zombie 1:43This is a different song, def not what I expected. Just an instramental break. Sounds like commercial music or elevator music. It sounds VERY much like some phone hold music. "Demonoid Phenomenon" - Humphrey, Zombie 4:11Again, very heavy, but still catchy. Good video; it's a lot of filmed concert footage, and tons of topless girls. though, they were blurred. So much kenetic, chaotic energy. I can imagine they put on a good live show. "Spookshow Baby" - Humphrey, Zombie 3:38This one isn't as chaotic and messy as the other tracks. It's a good calm down track after the previous one. "How to Make a Monster" - Humphrey, Zombie 1:38This has a totally different sound. It's not as industrial. Almost punk-ish. But back to the chaos and energy. Sounds like it was recorded live or in a tin can. Weird sound. "Meet the Creeper" - Humphrey, Zombie 3:13Back to the Zombie sound; heavy, industrial, dark. "The Ballad of Resurrection Joe and Rosa Whore" - Humphrey, Zombie 3:55I like the intro, build up. It's not as metal/heavy as the others. There it is. "What Lurks on Channel X?" - Humphrey, Zombie 2:29I mean... It's kinda more of the same. I know he's saying different words in each song, but they mostly sound the same. "Return of the Phantom Stranger" - Humphrey, Zombie 4:32Obviously Zombie is into classic horror, and the organ opening of this song pays to that. This is more bareable since it's not so chaotic; but still heavy and dark. This guy lives in spooky season all year round, it seems. "The Beginning of the End" Humphrey, Zombie 1:52This seems to be just noise. No lyrics or anything. MY  RATING SCORE 5/5 BEERS. First Time you saw the movie?  Plot:In the late 19th century, the demonic troll Trantor transforms children into wooden dolls to feast upon their energy in Briarville, Missouri. The townsfolk capture him and seal him under an oak tree, with Phineas Worrell, one of the village elders and an ancestor of Ernest P. Worrell, establishing the seal. Trantor vengefully places a curse on the Worrell family, stating that he can only be released on the night before Halloween by a Worrell. As part of the curse, every generation of Worrells will get "dumber and dumber and dumber", until the dumbest member of the family is foolish enough to release him from his earthly prison. One hundred years later, Ernest, a sanitation worker, helps a few of his middle school friends, Kenny Binder, Elizabeth and Joey, construct a treehouse in the same tree that unknowingly contains the dormant creature, after the mayor's sons demolished their own cardboard haunted house. When Old Lady Hackmore discovers this, she angrily leaves. Following her, Ernest learns the story of Trantor and idiotically reports it to the kids. Inadvertently, Ernest releases the troll. Joey is walking home from the treehouse when he hears something rustling through the trees. Joey slowly walks and slips down in a muddy hole. Trantor grabs Joey's wrist and turns him into a wooden doll. Ernest finds Kenny's dad, Sheriff Cliff Binder, and explains the situation but Binder does not believe him. After none of the townsfolk will assist Ernest because of the upcoming Halloween party, he mounts a one-man (and one-dog) defense operation in preparation for Trantor's appearance. Meanwhile, Trantor captures a boy on a skateboard as his second victim. Tom and Bobby Tulip, hoping to exploit Ernest, sell him various fake troll traps, but one backfires on the mayor's sons and Ernest loses his job. Ernest, Kenny and Elizabeth return to Hackmore, where they learn that only "the heart of a child, and a mother's care" can defeat the troll. Later that night, Trantor claims Elizabeth as his third victim as he sneaks into her house while she is resting on her bed. While Kenny and his friend Gregg are walking, Trantor uses Elizabeth's voice to lure Kenny away, then takes Gregg as a fourth victim. Despite parents being upset at their missing children, Mayor Murdock and Sheriff Binder still proceed with a Halloween party at the school, believing the missing children will be there. Trantor appears there and takes the mayor's oldest son as his fifth and final wooden doll. In the ensuing fight between Trantor and Ernest, Trantor turns Ernest's dog Rimshot into a wooden doll before being repelled by soft-serve ice cream on Ernest's hands. Kenny realizes that "mother's care" refers to milk and rallies a troll-fighting team to destroy them. Back at the treehouse, Trantor successfully summons his army of trolls while Ernest unsuccessfully tries to stop them. The townspeople show up, only for the trolls to overwhelm and beat them up. Kenny and his friends arrive and begin destroying the trolls with milk. During the fight, Trantor escapes beneath the tree where he summons the powers of the underworld, making him invincible, especially to milk. Enraged, Kenny unsuccessfully tries to destroy Trantor, who also turns Kenny into a doll. With the other townsfolk now backing him up and telling him to douse Trantor in milk, Ernest realizes that milk weakened the troll children, while unconditional love ("the heart of a child") would weaken Trantor himself. He takes Trantor and dances with him while the mob watches, overloading him with love, and finally kisses his snot-ridden nose, causing Trantor to explode. With Trantor's destruction, Ernest is proclaimed a hero. All of the wooden dolls are restored, including those from the early 19th century, and life returns to normal. Sheriff Binder apologizes to his son for doubting him and Ernest. Ernest is happy that his dog is also back to normal.  TOP 5The pizzas seen being thrown at the bullies who try to attack the kids' tree house are re-used props from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991). Both movies had the same prop master, Doug White. The Chiodo Brothers are credited with special effects for this film, who also made Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988). Look for trolls in the finale that resemble Klowns, as well as the same spinning death effect. The Chiodos actually didn't save any of the original Klown molds. Though they may have used some ears molds. John Cherry's troll designs just happened to look a lot like the Klowns. In the opening credits (specifically around the 00:01:16 mark), there is a quick flash of a random man. He is Robert Hill, Jr., one of the grips. His son was in the film as a child extra. In the original script for "Ernest Scared Stupid", the villain wasn't a troll, it was actually a haunted statue. The original script had a lot of the flavor of "Scared Stupid" though. But there were no trolls; there was one statue that came to life - it was some terrible person who came back from the dead. John Cherry and Coke Sams went to Disney with that script. They both felt that it was the best thing they've ever written and that they knew what Disney wanted. But, Disney read it and their exact response was, "What were you guys smoking when you wrote this?" They added, "We want a haunted tree house." So John and Coke dismembered anything they could salvage from the original "Scared Stupid" script and cranked it into the next one.Creature effects creator Charles Chiodo designed "Trantor" the troll using fourteen motors to operate various facial features. His teeth were fabricated from dental acrylic, his skin was "baked foam," and each eyebrow hair was inserted individually. The trolls were designed with two noses that dripped synthetic mucus, concocted from methyl cellulose, personal lubricant, and an unnamed "vegetable agent" that caused it to spoil quickly. A thicker version of the substance was used as troll saliva. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**TreyChris 4Stephen 4.5Tucker 4.5 TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Color out of space5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. However, the caller turns sadistic and threatens her life. He reveals that her boyfriend Steve Orth is bound and gagged outside on her patio and demands she answer questions about horror films. After Casey answers a question about Friday the 13th incorrectly, Steve is murdered in front of her. Casey is then stabbed and murdered by a person wearing a black robe and a ghost mask, and her parents find her disemboweled corpse hanging from a tree. News media descend on the town and a police investigation begins. As Sidney Prescott struggles with the first anniversary of her mother Maureen's rape and murder, a news reporter, Gale Weathers, who Sidney dislikes, arrives. Gale was responsible for spreading rumors and conspiracy theories about Maureen's death, insinuating that the imprisoned Cotton Weary, who had been tried and convicted of Maureen's rape and murder, was not responsible for her assault and killing. In the evening while waiting at home for her best friend Tatum Riley to arrive, Sidney gets a taunting phone call and is attacked by the killer. Sidney's boyfriend Billy Loomis arrives shortly after. When he drops his cell phone, Sidney suspects him of making the call and flees. Billy is arrested and questioned, but later, at Tatum's house, Sidney receives another ominous call. The next day, Billy is released and suspicion shifts to Sidney's father Neil Prescott, due to the ominous phone calls having been traced to his phone. As school is suspended in wake of the murders, the killer stabs Principal Arthur Himbry to death in his office. Tatum's boyfriend and Billy's best friend, Stu Macher, throws a party to celebrate the school's closure. Gale attends uninvited, as she expects the killer will strike again. Tatum's older brother, Deputy Sheriff Dewey Riley, also looks out for the murderer at the party. The killer then murders Tatum by crushing her neck with the garage door. Many party attendees are drawn away after hearing of Himbry's death, leaving only Sidney, Billy, their friend Randy Meeks, Stu, and Gale's cameraman Kenny. After having sex, Sidney and Billy are confronted by the killer and Billy is seemingly killed. Sidney escapes from the house and seeks help from Kenny, but the killer fatally slashes his throat. Gale crashes her van while escaping and Dewey is stabbed in the back while investigating in the house. Sidney takes his gun for protection. Randy and Stu show up and accuse each other of being the killer, but Sidney retreats back into the house where she finds Billy wounded. After they let Randy inside, Sidney gives Billy the gun, but Billy shoots and injures Randy, revealing himself to be the killer, having faked his attack. Stu reveals himself to be the second killer by talking into a voice changer. Billy and Stu corner Sidney in the kitchen and discuss their plan to kill her and pin the murder spree on her father, whom they have taken hostage. They also reveal that they murdered her mother and framed Cotton for it, as she was having an affair with Billy's father, which drove his mother away. Gale intervenes, and it allows Sidney to escape and turn the tables on the killers, taunting them with a phone call and donning the killer's costume, before knocking Billy out and dropping a television set on Stu's head, killing him. An enraged Billy awakens and attacks Sidney, but Gale shoots and injures him. Randy is revealed to be wounded but alive, and remarks that the killer always resurfaces for one last scare. As Billy rises, Sidney shoots Billy in the head, finally killing him for good. As police arrive, Dewey, badly injured, is taken away by ambulance as Gale makes an impromptu news report about the night's events. TOP 5 Facts 1: Henry Winkler, who asked to go uncredited because the producers did not want to detract any attention from the younger, lesser known actors, only ever appears in three scenes in the film, all of which take place in his office. 2: Reese Witherspoon turned down the role of Sidney Prescott. 3: To date, this is the only Scream film in which the two killers are of the same gender, in this instance, Billy and Stu who are both male. Every other subsequent sequel with two killers featured one male and one female killer. 4: At the start of the film when Sidney and Billy are together, "don't fear the reaper" is playing; this is preempts the identity of the killer. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**Trey 3ChrisStephen 2Tucker 1 TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Color out of space5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Michael Dunn is enrolled at St. Basil's, a strict all-boys Catholic school. His grandmother is determined to see him fulfill his parents' dream of him joining the priesthood. Dunn befriends Caesar, an overweight, bespectacled student who enjoys reading and excels academically. Caesar helps Dunn catch up with the rest of the class, but because of their association, foul-mouthed bully and school troublemaker Ed Rooney pranks Dunn outside of the soda fountain across the street from school.   After Rooney pulls a prank on Caesar, teacher Brother Constance attempts to get Dunn to identify the prankster by striking Dunn's open palms with a paddle. Fed up with Dunn's refusal to rat out the perpetrator, Constance shoves him to the floor. Dunn lunges towards Rooney and the pair are separated. Dunn and Rooney are sent to the office of the headmaster, Brother Thadeus. Rooney, impressed by Dunn's refusal to snitch, attempts to patch things up between them, but Dunn wants nothing to do with him. After school, Rooney tells Dunn that if they do not become friends, he will have to continue in his harassment in order to save face. Reluctantly, Dunn befriends Rooney and his friends, sex obsessed Williams and naive Corbett. Dunn also befriends Danni, a teenaged girl who runs the soda fountain across from the school and cares for her mentally infirm father. Danni's fountain shop is raided numerous times by the Brothers, who wish to catch St. Basil's students misbehaving. The raids leave the shop in a shambles. After one raid, Dunn helps Danni clean things up, sparking a romance.    At the sacrament of confession, Caesar enters the confessional, but Father Abruzzi becomes preoccupied with another student's misbehavior. Rooney enters the priest's booth and hears Caesar's confession, giving him the penance of befriending Rooney and making sure he gets passing grades. As a result, Caesar tutors and befriends Rooney. The relationship between Dunn and Danni further develops, culminating in a kiss under the boardwalk at the beach. One day, during one of the Brothers' routine raids, Danni takes a stand and locks them out. The Brothers leave, but later contact social services. A few days later, Dunn and his friends see police cars and a few of the Brothers surrounding the soda fountain door as Danni's father is led out in handcuffs. Dunn rushes in and finds that social workers are preparing to take Danni away. A shaken Dunn takes Danni in his arms. Weeping, she wants him to promise that he won't be sad over her departure.    An angry Rooney develops another prank with the help of Caesar, Williams and Corbett to get back at the Brothers for having Danni taken away. The boys sneak onto school grounds at night and cut the head off the statue of St. Basil. During a school assembly the next day, Rooney presents Dunn with a duffel bag containing the missing head. Brother Constance sees the bag and accosts the boys into the gym, where Constance hits Corbett and Williams with a leather strap in an attempt to extract a confession for the vandalism. Caesar presents Constance with a doctor's note, presumably to exempt him from corporal punishment. Constance drags the cowering Caesar to the floor, beating him with the strap. Dunn angrily shoves Constance to the floor and then flees, with Constance and the other boys following him. The chase ends in the auditorium during the assembly. Constance backhands Dunn and calls him a bastard. Dunn then retaliates by delivering an uppercut to Constance, knocking him to the floor and causing pandemonium as the student body rises to its feet and cheers. Thadeus suspends all five boys for two weeks. He then presents Constance, who he claims started the altercation, with an order that he be transferred to another assignment where he will not work with children. The five boys walk out of the school downtrodden, but then joyfully realize that they will not have to attend school for two weeks.  TOP 5 Facts 1: Film debut of actors Kevin Dillon, Patrick Dempsey, Stephen Geoffreys, Yeardley Smith, and Maggie Wagner2: Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith both appeared in this movie years before they were both cast as the voices of Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson respectively.3: The working title of "Heaven Help Us" was "Catholic Boys". The latter became the film's actual theatrical release title in such territories as Europe and Australia.4: Modern audiences may be shocked at the nude swim class depicted in the film, but this was fairly common at the time. Because swimming pools didn't have adequate filtration systems, the American Public Health Association (APHA) required male public school students to swim nude between 1926 and 1962. However, since many schools were unable to afford the upgrade to their filtration systems, this tradition continued in some areas until the 1980's.5: The name of the Catholic religious order was the real-life Order of St. Basil aka the Order of Saint Basil the Great, who was born in 330 AD and died in 379 AD. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING**Trey 1 beerChris 1.5Stephen 2Tucker TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Color out of space5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. ON spotify Nirvana has around 24M listerner a month. On Youtube Nevermind album has 4,9M views  Nevermind is the second studio album by the american grunge band Nirvana, released on September 24, 1991 by DGC Records. It was Nirvana's first release on a major label and the first to feature drummer Dave Grohl.Produced by Butch Vig, Nevermind features a more polished, radio-friendly sound then the band's prior work. Recording took place at Sound city studio in Van Nuys, California, and smart studios in Madison Wisconsin in May and June -91, with mastering being completed in August of that year st The Mastering Lab, California.Written primarily by frontman Kurt Cobain, the album is noted for channeling a range of emotions, being noted as dark, humorous, and disturbing. Thematically, it includes anti-establishment views, anti-sexism, Frustration, alienation and troubled love inspired by Cobain's broken relationship with Bikini kill's Toby Vail. Contrary to the popular hedonistic themes of drugs and sex at the time, writers have observed that Nevermind re-invigorated sensitivity to mainstream rock. According to Cobain, the sound of the album was influenced by bands such as Pixies, R.E.M, The Smithereens, and the Melvins. While the album is considered a cornerstone of the grunge genre, it is noted for its musical diversity, which includes acoustic ballads ("Polly" and "´Something in the way") and Punk-inspired Hard Rock("Territorial Pissings" and "Stay Away"). Nevermind became an unexpected critical and commercial success, charting highly on charts across the world. By January 1992, it reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and was selling approximately 300,000 copies a week. The lead single "Smells like teen spirit" reached the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100 and went on to be inducted into the Grammy hall of fame. Its video was also heavily rotated on MTV. Three other successful singles were released: "Come as you Are", "Lithium", and "In Bloom". The album was voted the best album of the year in Pass & Jop critics' poll, while "Smells Like Teen Spirit" also topped the single of the year and video of the year polls. The album also garnered the band three Grammy Award nominations in total across the 34th and 35th Grammy Awards, including Best Alternative music album. AwardsHere cometh thine shiny awards Sire. My Lord Tucker the Wanker second Earl of Wessex. I was basically trying to rip off the Pixies. I have to admit it. When I heard the Pixies for the first time, I connected with that band so heavily that I should have been in that band—or at least a Pixies cover band. We used their sense of dynamics, being soft and quiet and then loud and hard."When Cobain presented the song to his bandmates, it comprised just the main guitar riff and the chorus vocal melody. Cobain said the riff was "clichéd", similar to a riff by Boston or the Richard Berry song "Louie Louie". Bassist Krist Novoselic dismissed it as "ridiculous"; in response, Cobain made the band play it for an hour and a half. Eventually, Novoselic began playing it more slowly, inspiring drummer Dave Grohl to create the drum beat, which drew from disco artists like The Gap Band. As a result, it is the only song on Nevermind to credit all three band members as writers. 2) "In Bloom" Written by Kurt Cobain 4:14 Released November 30, 1992 "In Bloom" was released as the album's fourth and final single in November 1992-The lyrics are just making fun of listeners who don't understand what Cobain is talking about. Never realized that.-I like to visualization and juxtaposition of the clean cut 50's style band to them wearing dresses and tearing everything up.-According to the 1993 Nirvana biography Come As You Are by Michael Azerrad, "In Bloom" was originally written about "the jocks and shallow mainstream types" of the underground music scene the band began to find in their audience after the release of their 1989 debut album, Bleach. In his biography of Cobain, Heavier Than Heaven, Charles R. Cross asserted that the song was a "thinly disguised portrait" of Cobain's friend Dylan Carlson. 3) "Come As You Are" Written by Kurt Cobain 3:38 Released March 2, 1992 as the second single from Nevermind.-Great song, all of the intros are very catchy and pull you in.-Interesting visuals in the music video... Lots of sperm swimming around and flowing water.-The origin of the song's title is unclear, but Charles R. Cross speculated the song may have been named after a motto used by the Morck Hotel in Cobain's hometown of Aberdeen, Washington. The Morck was one of many places Cobain stayed in after leaving home for a time while he was seventeen years old 4) "Breed" written by Kurt Cobain 3:03 Released September 24, 1991-Much heavier sound than the previous tracks. High energy and poppy.-Reading the lyrics, it is a bunch of just nonsense.-Lyrically, the song addresses themes of teenage apathy and fear within the American middle-class. Stevie Chick of Kerrang wrote that lyrics such as "We can plant a house, we can build a tree" displayed Cobain's "gift for crafting witty, purposeful nonsense. 5) "Lithium" written Kurt Cobain 4:16 Released July 13, 1992 as the third single from Nevermind.-Very chilled vibe from the previous tracks-It's still got a LOT of energy in the YEAH parts that gets hard.-As Cobain explained, "In the song, a guy's lost his girl and his friends and he's brooding. He's decided to find God before he kills himself. It's hard for me to understand the need for a vice like [religion] but I can appreciate it too. People need vices.” 6) "Polly" written by Kurt Cobain 2:57 Released September 24, 1991-Very downtrodden song. considering the content, not surprising.-This is a really dark song. Jesus.-Cobain wrote "Polly" about an incident in Tacoma, Washington involving the abduction and rape of a 14-year-old girl in August 1987. Gerald Arthur Friend kidnapped the girl while she was leaving a rock concert, suspended her upside down from a pulley in his mobile home and raped and tortured her with a blow torch. She managed to escape by jumping from his truck at a gas station, attracting attention from surrounding people. Arthur was later arrested and convicted for his crimes. Cobain's addition to the story was to have the victim fool the kidnapper into thinking she was enjoying what he was doing to her, causing him to let his guard down long enough for her to escape.-In his Nirvana biography Come As You Are, journalist Michael Azerrad noted that rape seemed to be a consistent theme in Cobain's songs and interviews, as if Cobain was "apologizing for his entire gender." However, Cobain explained, "I don't feel bad about being a man at all. There are all kinds of men that are on the side of the woman and support them and help influence other men. In fact, a man using himself as an example toward other men can probably make more impact than a woman can". 7) "Territorial Pissings" written by Kurt Cobain and Chet Powers. 2:22-Very punk and heavy.-I have no idea how Kurt would be able to perform this song live... It hurts my voice hearing his guttural screams.-this song is a two-and-a-half-minute punk lambasting of the typical "Macho Man." In addition to being about sexism, the song is also about the way Kurt Cobain saw Native Americans treated around his home town of Aberdeen, Washington. 8) "Drain You" written by Kurt Cobain 3:43 Released September 24, 1991 as a promotional single-
Good song, musically in the same category as the more popular Nirvana tracks. Heavy, but simple and poppy.-The strangest "love" song I've ever heard.-In the 1993 Nirvana biography Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana, Michael Azerrad described "Drain You" as "a love song, or rather a song about love," in which the babies in the lyrics "represent two people reduced to a state of perfect innocence by their love." Cobain told Azerrad that the lyrics made him think of "two brat kids who are in the same hospital bed." The song's imagery predicted the medical themes that would feature heavily in the lyrics of Nirvana's following album, In Utero.-According to the 2001 Cobain biography Heavier Than Heaven by Charles Cross, "Drain You" was one of "a half dozen...memorable songs" Cobain wrote following his break-up with American musician, Tobi Vail, in November 1990. Cross described the lyric, "It is now my duty to completely drain you," as "both an acknowledgement of the power [Vail] had over [Cobain] and an indictment." 9) "Lounge Act" written by Kurt Cobain 2:36-Super bass heavy.-It reminds me of Offspring sound-This is a song about heartache in a relationship.-The title comes from the fact that Nirvana thought that the bass intro sounded like something a cheesy lounge band would use.-This is the only song Kurt Cobain admitted was about his much maligned ex-girlfriend, Tobi Vail. 10) "Stay Away" written by Kurt Cobain 3:32-Very punk inspired-Pretty simple and to the point; confusion and agitation, easier to push people away than try to explain things to them.-Again, no idea how he would be able to sing anything else after this song. Dang.-Originally titled Pay To Play, this song appears to be about many things, including annoyance ("stay away"), lack of popularity ("I'd rather be dead than cool"), and predictability in people ("every line ends in a rhyme"). 11) "On a Plain" written by Kurt Cobain 3:16. Released on the album in September 1991, released as a promotional single in 1992.-Very much in the vein of the other tracks. Again, somewhat nonsensical, but still angsty and full of energy-Good track, I remember the single.-In a July 1993 interview in New York City, Cobain told English journalist Jon Savage that "On a Plain" was about "classic alienation, I guess," although he then noted he had to change his explanation every time he was asked about the meaning to his songs, saying that his lyrics were largely taken from "pieces of poetry thrown together," and that his poetry was "not usually thematic at all." 12) "Something in the Way" written by Kurt Cobain 3:52-Very downtrodden and depressing-Very heavy and moody-Doesn't have the explosive energy the other tracks did. But it's still solid and full of feeling.-Never released as a single and never a consistent part of the band's live setlist, "Something in the Way" charted for the first time in August 2020, after appearing in the first trailer for the 2022 superhero film, The Batman. The song peaked at number two on Billboard's US Rock Digital Songs Sales chart, and number five on their US Alternative Digital Songs Sales charts.[2] It also reached the top 20 in both Amazon Music's and iTunes' digital music charts-Cobain himself suggested that the song was not necessarily autobiographical, telling Nirvana biographer Michael Azerrad that the lyrics were "like if I was living under the bridge and I was dying of AIDS, if I was sick and I couldn't move and I was a total street person. That was kind of the fantasy of it". 13) "Endless, Nameless" written by Kurt Cobain-Very heavy and chaotic-I honestly don't know if I've ever heard this one before, but I'm not a fan of it... I don't like jam bandy type music. Sounds like they're just making noise.-According to Come As You Are, Cobain himself was unsure of what he was singing during the performance, but believed the lyrics included the lines, "I think I can, I know I can."-According to author Chuck Crisafulli, the song's placement on Nevermind was in part inspired by the use of hidden tracks by the Beatles, such as "Her Majesty" on their 1969 album, Abbey Road. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4color out of space5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. During the fifteen-minute break before the final set, Mike gets another verbal beatdown from his father for playing shoddily during the second set (though that's because his legs are cramping up), and Mike finally musters up the courage to tell his father off for the first time. As the third set is underway, Mike's left knee locks up, threatening the forfeiture of the set to Tommy. As Jenny (Emilee Wallace) massages his knee, Gary (Seann William Scott) orders Chang (Justin Chon) to get the teammates to do something to motivate Mike, so they all end up doing the tomahawk chop chant, and they get the supporters of their school to join in with them. In the midst of this, the principal's daughter, Amy (Ryan Simpkins), shouts out a profanity-laden speech of encouragement. The support forces Mike to dig deep within himself and mentally shut out his pain, and then he beats Tommy to win the state title. As the team celebrates, Mike gets a handshake and a hug from his father, and he also kisses Jenny. Gary then watches as an owl lands near him, and he sees that it is actually Lew's (Randy Quaid) spirit in owl form. He tells Lew that, since he has led the team to championship glory, he doesn't know what to do next. Lew replies that, while he can't tell him what to do next, he can tell him that those boys will never forget this wonderful day. He praises Gary for being a great coach and flies away, and the team then salutes Gary. Some days later, after Gary puts the championship trophy in the school's trophy case, he finally arranges a date with Norma (Leonor Varela). He then overconfidently narrates to himself that, after he marries Norma, he should get a teaching degree, and maybe he could turn some dead-end loser into a future U.S. president.    TOP 51 Despite being direct-to-DVD in the US, the film was shown in theaters in Iceland. 2 To date, the last film to feature Randy Quaid. 3 Script was discovered by the BlueCat Screenplay Competition in 2005, going on to win the top prize. FilmFest 2019 Plot: In the wake of his wife Theresa's mastectomy, Nathan Gardner moves his family, including children Lavinia, Benny, and Jack, to his late father's farm. One night, a brilliantly glowing meteor crash-lands in their front yard, briefly traumatizing Jack. The next morning, hydrologist Ward Phillips, who is surveying the area for a dam development, along with the mayor and the sheriff of the nearby town of Arkham, arrive to see the meteor. That night, during a storm, Nathan and Lavinia witness the meteor being struck by numerous bolts of lightning. Ward notices that the groundwater has taken on an oily sheen and tests it. When his test strips begin to glow brightly with the Color, he advises the Gardners not to drink it. While notifying nearby resident Ezra of the contamination, he is shown a recording of sounds of unknown origin sounding beneath Ezra's house at night. Meanwhile, Jack becomes fixated on the property's well, observing strange plant growths and insects, as well as claiming to communicate with a 'friend' inside the well. A news crew arrives to interview Nathan about the meteor, but finds that it has vanished. Later, while Theresa is preparing dinner, she absentmindedly cuts off two of her fingers. As Nathan rushes her to the hospital, he leaves Benny in charge. On Nathan's request, Benny goes outside to put the farm's alpacas back in their stables, but does not return until late at night, claiming time had passed instantaneously for him. Meanwhile, Lavinia attempts multiple times to contact Nathan, but they are unable to hear each other through the phone. Upon the parents' return, Nathan lashes out at Benny and Lavinia with uncharacteristic rage. Later, Nathan becomes frustrated after finding that his most recent harvest of fruits has proven inedible, and Theresa snaps after losing a work client due to the faltering Internet connection, bringing the two to a fight. The same night, Lavinia tries to perform a Ritual using the Necronomicon and offering her blood to save her family, mutilating herself in the process. Theresa suddenly hears Jack and Benny screaming after entering the alpaca stables and rushes to their aid, but in the process, a bolt of Color fuses Theresa and Jack together into a deranged mass. Unable to start the car or call for help as all electronic devices have stopped functioning, and upon discovering sunlight harms Theresa and Jack, Nathan and the children carry them into the attic. Benny reveals that he had witnessed the alpacas after a horrible mutation due to the Color. Nathan decides to euthanize the alpacas with a shotgun after finding they have similarly fused together. Beginning to lose his sanity, Nathan also attempts to euthanize Theresa and Jack but is unable to bring himself to. Lavinia and Benny conspire to leave the farm using Lavinia's horse, but it runs from the property. Before returning inside, Benny insists he hears the family's dog inside the well, but upon climbing in, he is assimilated by the Color. Nathan displays more uncharacteristic rage and locks Lavinia in the attic with Theresa and Jack, who have turned to aggression. Ward and the sheriff are brought to the farm after a nearby resident discovers a fused mass of animals, and arrive just in time to break into the attic. Nathan shoots and kills the monster, saving Lavinia. After rushing outside, Nathan attempts to shoot the Color emerging from the well, but the sheriff mistakes Nathan's aim for Ward and fatally shoots him. Ward and the sheriff leave to evacuate Ezra, and Lavinia insists on staying with Nathan. At Ezra's house, the pair only find his desiccated corpse and a recording he left behind, where he surmises that the Color is attempting to remake Earth into "something it knows." Heading back towards the farmhouse, a mutated living tree kills the sheriff. Ward returns to rescue Lavinia, but finds her possessed by the Color, which explodes out of the well and forms a funnel into the sky. Ward is shown a vision of where the Color hails from, a psychedelic exoplanet inhabited by tentacled alien entities, before Lavinia disintegrates. As space and time begin to unravel, Ward enters the farmhouse and is pursued by a murderous apparition of Nathan. He hides in the wine cellar as the Color's distortion of reality drives the property to destruction, leaving Ward the only survivor as he climbs out of the remains of the farmland, now a colorless ashy "blasted heath". In an epilogue, a traumatized Ward stands on top of the finished dam which covers the former property, and narrates that having witnessed the Color's takeover, he will never drink the dam's water.   TOP 5The Color Out Of Space project was initially revealed online by Stanley in 2013, but it lacked financing. After two years, in 2015, it was announced that production company SpectreVision would produce the feature.
The production experienced further delays, and in late 2018 it was reported that Nicolas Cage had come on board to portray the main character, filming then began in Portugal in early 2019.SpectreVision is a production company that was founded in 2010 by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller, and primarily produces horror films. In 2018 SpectreVision released Mandy, an action horror with Nicolas Cage in the lead role.
Mandy follows Cage's character Red and his wife Mandy, a quiet couple living in isolation in a cabin in the woods. After an interaction with a cult leader, the couple becomes terrorized by a hippie cult and a demonic biker gangLovecraft's extraterrestrial entity, the title color of the movie, was described in the short story as being made up of a color that humans had never seen. This made the entity all the more terrifying, while at the same time almost impossible to give physical form to.
Stanley experimented with infrared, and countless new technologies as he tried to come up with a visualization of the color.  As Stanley himself stated, the otherworldly monster is "like a gas with fingers", and naturally there was no blueprint for creating it. He eventually settled on a host of techniques and new technologies combined, and a strong magenta hue.Tommy Chong's character Ezra in Color Out Of Space is based on the real-life character Urani, from Richard Stanley's 2013 documentary The Otherworld. Ezra is the only one in the movie who speaks truthfully about what is happening in the world and draws many parallels with Urani. In The Otherworld, Stanley investigates a remote region of France, known as The Zone, that has a rich history of magical belief. Urani, as he is depicted in the film, lives in complete isolation and according to Stanley, claims to have tape recordings of extraterrestrial buzzing from underneath the floor of his house. Ezra makes near-identical claims in Color Out Of Space.Color Out Of Space is the fifth adaptation of the Lovecraft short story to date. The first was adaptation was Die, Monster, Die!, a 1965 movie directed by Daniel Haller. The 1987 movie The Curse directed by David Keith and set in the 1980s is more closely related to the events of the original story. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4color out of space5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. The first clue was given to Ben's great-great-great-great grandfather Thomas Gates (Jason Earles) by Charles Carroll, the last living signer of the Declaration of Independence, saying simply, "The secret lies with Charlotte." Using sophisticated computer arctic weather models, Ben, with his friend Riley Poole (Bartha) and financier Ian Howe (Bean), finds the wreckage of a Colonial ship, the Charlotte, containing a meerschaum pipe engraved with a riddle. After examining the riddle, Ben deduces that the next clue is on the back of the Declaration of Independence. While Ben sees gaining access to such a highly guarded artifact as an obstacle, Ian finds no problem in stealing it. In the standoff, Ian escapes and the Charlotte explodes with Ben and Riley inside, nearly killing them. They attempt to warn the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and Dr. Abigail Chase (Kruger) at the National Archives, but no one takes them seriously, believing it to be too heavily guarded to be under any threat. Ben thinks otherwise, however, and decides to steal it to keep it from Ian. Ben and Riley manage to steal the Declaration during a 70th anniversary-gala, just before Ian arrives. Dr. Chase, who is holding a replica, is kidnapped by Ian who thinks she has the real one, and Ben has to engage in a car chase to rescue her. As she will not leave without the Declaration, and Ben will not let her leave with it, she is forced to go along with them. Ben and Riley agree that the only place to hide from the police would be Ben's father's (Voight) house. Despite his father's disbelief in the treasure, Ben manages to reveal an Ottendorf cipher on the back of the Declaration, referring to characters in the Silence Dogood letters. The coded message in the letters leads them to Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where they find special bifocals invented by Benjamin Franklin Gates inside of a brick from the building. Ben examines the back of the Declaration with the glasses, to find another clue. After a short chase, Ian gets the Declaration from Riley and Abigail, and the FBI arrests Ben, who has the glasses. When the FBI attempts to use Ben as bait to get the Declaration back, Ian arranges to have him escape by jumping from the deck of the USS Intrepid, into the Hudson River, a feat not too difficult for Ben as a graduate of the Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center. Using Ben's father, Riley, and Abigail as leverage, Ian forces Ben to interpret the clue on the back of the declaration, a reference to a secret chamber under the Trinity Church in New York City. When they arrive at a seemingly dead end, Ben's father makes up another clue to keep Ian going, telling him a lantern is the clue to the Old North Church in Boston, referencing Paul Revere's ride. Ian goes to Boston with his men, leaving everyone else to die in the caverns. After Ian leaves, Ben reveals there is another exit that must be through the treasure room. They find a secret passage into another chamber. To their disappointment, they find it empty, and assume that the treasure was already moved. However, they realize a secondary exit must have been created in case of cave-ins. Ben examines the walls of the room, to find a hole the shape of the pipe from the Charlotte. This lock opens a door into the true treasure room, containing artifacts from all periods of history. When they leave through the second exit and the FBI arrives, Ben discovers that the chief investigator, Special agent Peter Sadusky (Keitel), is a Freemason. Ben proposes to give the treasure to various museums around the world, with credit being given to the entire Gates family and Riley, with Dr. Chase not being penalized for the theft of the Declaration. However, Sadusky says that someone has to go to prison for the theft of the Declaration, so they fly to Boston, where Ian and his men are breaking the lock to gain entry to the Old North Church. FBI agents emerge from hiding and arrest them under charges of "kidnapping, attempted murder, and trespassing on government property." The U.S. government offers Ben and his friends ten percent of the treasure, but Ben only takes one percent and splits it with Riley. With his share, Ben and Abigail buy a mansion once owned by a man who knew Charles Carroll, and Riley buys a red Ferrari 360 Spider. The film ends with Abigail giving Ben a map and when he curiously asks what it leads to she just smiles a suggestive grin.  -Nicholas Cage figuring out the "riddle" on the boat with no context clues or anything was crazy.-Ian turns on Ben very quickly when it went from study the declaration of independance to steal it, and Ben wasn't game.-I always hate this, when Ian shoots the guard with the tazer, he passes out... not what happens with a tazer.-Who knows this much about cyphers?-Good chace, but would've brought more attention.-Why would Ian want to meet in NYC when they were already in Philly?-How would a 200 year old torch hold a flame like that?    Top Five Trivia of the movie: TOP 5On the back of the $100 bill, there is an etching of Independence Hall, and the time on the clock tower reads 2:22.The clock on the back of the early-2000s $100 bill (below) was officially documented as reading 4:10, though it does look more like the hour hand is pointing to the two, suggesting a time of 2:22. When the $100 bill was redesigned in 2009, the time was changed to 10:30; this new bill entered circulation in 2013. There is no evidence that either of these times were chosen for a specific reason.Independence Hall was not harmed in the making of this movie. Many of the scenes set in Philadelphia were shot on location, in such landmarks as Reading Terminal Market and the Franklin Institute. But one notable exception is Independence Hall. Rather than filming in the real building, a National Historical Park, the filmmakers substituted the brick-for-brick replica of Independence Hall at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. Walter Knott had a love for American history, and his replica which was constructed between 1964-1966 was based on historical records, photographs, blueprints, and exact measurements. So, there was no need for Nicolas Cage to run around a real "national treasure" when a truly exact replica existed. The house of Pass and StowThe bell now known as the Liberty Bell was commissioned from the London firm of Lester and Pack. It arrived in Philadelphia in 1752, but when the bell was struck to test the sound, its rim cracked. Authorities tried in vain to return the bell, so local founders John Pass and John Stow offered to recast it. Their first attempt didn't break when struck, but the sound was disappointing. So, Pass and Stow recast the bell again, and it was finally installed in the bell tower of the Pennsylvania State House (Independence Hall) in June 1753.As Ian discovers, the Liberty Bell no longer hangs in Independence Hall. It has its own pavillion across the street, the Liberty Bell Center, which opened to the public in October 2003.The final expansion of the crack in the Liberty Bell occurred on George Washington's birthday in 1846, and the Centennial Bell replaced the Liberty Bell in 1876.According to the National Park Service, the final expansion of the crack did occur in 1846, and the widening was actually an attempt to prevent futher cracking and restore the bell's tone. By order of the mayor, the bell rang in honor of Washington's birthday and cracked beyond repair. In anticipation of the centennial in 1876, a different bell was produced from four melted-down Revolutionary and Civil War cannons. The Centennial Bell was part of the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, later recast to improve the tone, and hung in the bell tower ofIndependence Hall, where it remains today. This engraving from The Illustrated London News, 1876, shows the Centennial Bell "In the Belfry, Independence Hall.      5.  Broadway was called de Heere Street by the Dutch.           Originally the Wickquasgeck Trail, Dutch settlers renamed the route traversing Manhattan Island from south to north de Heere Straat, which means the Gentlemen's Street. One day, he plays his banjo and sings "Rainbow Connection", and is approached by Bernie, a talent agent who encourages Kermit to pursue a career in show business. Inspired by the idea of "making millions of people happy", Kermit sets off on a cross-country trip to Hollywood. Kermit meets Fozzie Bear, who is working as a hapless stand-up comedian, and Kermit invites Fozzie on his journey. The two set out in Fozzie's 1951 Studebaker, but are soon pursued by entrepreneur Doc Hopper and his assistant Max in an attempt by Hopper to convince Kermit to be the new spokesfrog of Hopper's struggling French-fried frog legs restaurant franchise. Horrified, Kermit kindly refuses and he and Fozzie drive away. Unwilling to accept Kermit's refusal, Hopper resorts to increasingly forceful means of persuasion. In an old church, Kermit and Fozzie meet the rock band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, and the band's manager Scooter, who help them disguise their car. Driving on, they meet and are joined by Gonzo and his girlfriend Camilla the Chicken, who are also interested in becoming movie stars. They trade in their failing vehicle at a used car lot, where they meet Sweetums. They invite Sweetums to come with them, but he runs away. The others drive away, only for Sweetums to emerge and reveal that he had only gone to pack his things. The group meets Miss Piggy at a county fair, and she immediately becomes love-stricken with Kermit. When Kermit and Miss Piggy meet for dinner that night, Hopper and Max sneak up on Miss Piggy and abduct her as bait to lure Kermit. When Kermit arrives at the designated location, mad scientist Professor Krassman tries to brainwash Kermit into performing in Hopper's advertisements, but Miss Piggy furiously knocks out Hopper's henchmen and causes Krassman to be brainwashed by his own device. However, immediately after the fight and saving Kermit, Miss Piggy receives a job offer and promptly abandons a devastated Kermit. Joined by Rowlf the Dog and reunited with Miss Piggy along the way, the Muppets continue their journey to Hollywood, but their car breaks down in the desert. Sitting at a campfire, the group sadly realizes that they will likely miss the audition the next day. Kermit wanders off, ashamed for bringing his friends on a fruitless journey, but some personal reflection restores his commitment. He returns to camp, where he discovers the Electric Mayhem have come to their rescue, having learned of their plight by reading ahead in the film's script. The Mayhem offer to drive the entire group the rest of the way in their bus. The group is warned by a reformed Max that Hopper has hired an assassin, Snake Walker, to kill Kermit. Kermit decides to face his aggressor and proposes a Western-style showdown in a nearby ghost town. There, they find inventor Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker. Kermit confronts Hopper with an appeal to Hopper's own hopes and dreams, but Hopper is unmoved and orders his henchmen to kill Kermit and his friends. They are saved when one of Dr. Honeydew's inventions, "insta-grow" pills, temporarily enlarges Mayhem drummer Animal, who frightens away Hopper and his henchmen for good. Once the Muppets reach the Hollywood studio, they finally meet studio executive Lew Lord, who signs the Muppets to a "standard 'rich and famous' contract". The first take in their attempt to perform the script goes awry when Gonzo crashes into the prop rainbow, and an explosion blows a hole in the roof of the studio. However, a real rainbow shines through the hole and onto the Muppets. Joined by other Muppet characters from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, and The Land of Gorch, the Muppets all sing together.Sweetums then tears through the movie screen in the theater, ending the film and catching up with the rest of the crew as they congratulate each other on their performances. Top Five Trivia of the movie: Top 5 Trivia-When Animal accidentally eats Dr. Bunsen Honeydew's Insta-Grow pills, he memorably balloons through the roof. Jim Henson refused to use a normal puppet on a miniature set to accomplish this effect, so his crew had to construct a gigantic Animal head that measured sixty feet.-In a 2004 interview, John Landis revealed that he was the puppeteer for Grover during the final sequence, as Frank Oz was busy operating Miss Piggy. Emboldened, he heads into the city's subway system at night, where he takes pictures of an impending sexual assault before saving the woman. The next day, he discovers she has gone missing. Intrigued, he investigates reports of similar disappearances. His investigation leads him to a butcher named Mahogany, who he suspects has been killing subway passengers for the past three years. Leon presents his photos to the police, but Detective Hadley disbelieves him. Leon's involvement quickly turns into a dark obsession, upsetting his girlfriend Maya, who is also disbelieving of his story. Leon follows Mahogany onto the last subway train of the night, only to witness a bloodbath. The butcher kills several passengers and hangs their bodies on meat hooks. After a brief scuffle with Mahogany, Leon passes out on the train. He awakes the next morning in a slaughterhouse with strange markings carved into his chest. A concerned Maya and her friend Jurgis examine Leon's photos of Mahogany, leading them to the killer's apartment. After breaking in, Jurgis is captured, though Maya escapes with timetables that record over a hundred years of murders on the subway. She goes to the police but finds Hadley still skeptical. When Hadley presses Maya to return the timetables, she demands answers. At gunpoint, Hadley directs her to take the midnight train to find Jurgis. Leon heads to a hidden subway entrance in the slaughterhouse, arming himself with several knives. He boards the train as Mahogany completes his nightly massacre and corners Maya. Leon attacks the murderer with a knife, and the two fight in between the swinging human flesh. Human body parts are ripped, thrown, and used as weapons. Jurgis, hung from a meat hook, dies when he is gutted. The train reaches its final stop, a cavernous abandoned station filled with skulls and decomposing bodies. The conductor appears, advising Leon and Maya to "step away from the meat." The true purpose of the abandoned station is revealed, as reptilian creatures enter the car and consume the bodies of the murdered passengers. Leon and Maya flee into the cavern. Mahogany, battered, fights to the death with Leon. After Leon stabs a broken femur through his throat, Mahogany only grins in his dying throes, saying, "Welcome!" The conductor tells Leon the creatures have lived beneath the city long before the subway was constructed, and the butcher's job is to feed them each night to keep them from attacking subway riders during the day. He picks up Leon and, with the same supernatural strength as the deceased butcher, rips out Leon's tongue and eats it. The conductor brings Leon's attention to Maya, who has been knocked unconscious and is lying on a pile of bones. The conductor forces Leon to watch as he cuts Maya's chest open to remove her heart. He says that, having killed the butcher, Leon must take his place. Detective Hadley hands the train schedule to the new butcher, who wears a ring with the symbol of the group that feeds the creatures. The killer walks onto the midnight train and reveals himself as Leon. Top Five Trivia of the movie: Top 5 Trivia-Lionsgate had recently hired executive Joseph Drake when the film was completing production. Drake greatly disliked the film, and decided to give it a limited theatrical run in budget cinemas.-Vinnie Jones and Bradley Cooper were born exactly ten years apart on January 5th. Vinnie in 1965, and Bradley in 1975.-The necklace that Detective Hadley (Barbara Eve Harris) wears has the same symbol as Mahogany's (Vinnie Jones') ring.-This is the second movie in which Vinnie Jones remains silent until the final few minutes of the film, the first being Gone in 60 Seconds (2000).-The ancients' immortality is ensured by the human flesh (they are themselves degenerate humans), and said immortality is needed for them to continually serve the Eldritch Abomination they made a deal with so New York would prosper. It's also implied that similar deals were brokered with similar abominations at the site of every major city in the world. Even yours. it's also implied that all myths of Gods, ever, including the Abrahamic deity, are sanitized accounts of these abominations. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. It won a grammy for best Best Pop Instrumental Performance for the Top Gun anthem. Won a people choice award for favorite motion picture. It was inducted into the National Film Registry in 2015.  First time you saw the movie? Plot:The film opens with a screen saying: On March 3, 1969 the united states navy established an elite school for the top one percent of it's pilots. It's purpose was to teach the lost oart of aerial combat and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world. They Succeeded. Today, the Navy calls it Fighter Weapons School. The flyers call it: Top Gun. It cuts to scenes of planes taking off and landing on an aircraft carrier. Indian ocean, present day. On the bridge, the pilots are made aware of unidentified contacts, and the captain is distressed to learn Maverick and Goose are out for contact. The find two Mig 28s. After acquiring missile lock, the first mig bugs out. The second Mig gets missile lock on Cougar and Merlin, as Maverick moves in to position to engage, he can't shoot and decides to have some fun, goes inverted and flips the mig pilot the bird, while Goose takes a picture. Cougar is freaked out and freezes up. Maverick aborts his landing like Trey after a one night stand, and helps him land. Cougar turns in his wings, as the commander tears into Maverick and Goose, he tells them they are going to Top Gun flight academy. Cut to highway to the danger zone montage. In the training room, they get a briefing from Viper. At the bar they have a contentious meeting with Iceman. Afterwards, Goose bets Maverick $20 to have carnal knowledge of someone at the bar when Maverick sees Charlie across the bar and decides shes lost that lovin' feeling, leading to all the pilots to join in with him and they have a very playful conversation, then she eventually ditches him. The next day back at Top Gun, Maverick recognizes Charlie as a civilian contractor and highly educated. He retells the story of the Mig, which no one believes. -Fuck, i love Highway to the danger zone. Epic theme.-Migs engaging I doubt would happen like that- Maverick and Goose fly their first practice mission and end up out maneuvering Jester and getting target lock, afterwards they buzz the tower. In the locker room, Iceman confronts Maverick, but they are called to Vipers office to get chewed out about the buzz and going below the hard deck. Goose has a heart to heart with Maverick, and He promises not to let Goose down. In class he continues to hit on Charlie, and she gives him her address. Maverick and Goose are playing volley ball against Iceman. He leaves to go to see Charlie, they eat and she asks about the Mig again. He then tells her about his father going missing; he then leaves to take a shower. Gooses wife and kid arrive and cut back to the classroom and they use Mavericks moves as an example of what not to do. Pissed off, he takes off on his bike, and Charlie follows telling him she's fallen for him. They kiss. Cut to the blue sex scene. Going into another exercise, we're informed they're half way through training, and that Iceman is in first place by 3 points. They're up with Viper and Jester, Viper peels off and Maverick leaves Hollywood to get Viper. As he closes in, Jester ends up behind him and he loses. In the locker room, Jester tells him that's the best flying he's seen yet. At the diner with Goose, his wife and Charlie the girls chat. Back to training missions, two weeks until graduation. They're up with Iceman and they engage 3 bogies. As Iceman engages one, Maverick pulls up behind and Iceman disengages, when he does, they're caught in the jet wash and end up in a flat spin. They eject and Goose hits the canopy, killing him. -Wonder how Jester got his name?-Why is Maverick playing in jeans?-The elevator scene was a re-shoot, she wears the hat because she changed her hair for another movie. Same for the sex scene.-I wonder if the canopy ejecting death is a thing that can happen? In the hospital, Viper visits telling Maverick he has to let Goose go, that there will be more people that die. He arrives back at base and is packing up Gooses stuff, while his wife and son wait. She tells him he would've kept flying without Maverick. The flight board finds that he was not at fault in the accident and he's returned to active flight duty. In his first mission, he doesn't engage the fight, Viper and Jester discuss if he's lost his edge, but he'll continue. Iceman expresses his condolences, as Maverick quits. Charlie finds him at the diner, Maverick congratulates her on her new job in DC; while she affirms him, and tries to move him forward. He goes to talk to Viper, and realizes he knew his father, and confirmed that his dad "did it right." He then tells Maverick what happened to his father. They discuss his options and he leaves, going by Charlies house, but not stopping. At graduation from Top Gun, he arrives late. Seeing Iceman got the top spot, he congratulates him. They are handed orders about a high tension situation and they are relocated back to the indian ocean. They're briefed about a disabled ship and they're supposed to support the rescue and engage any migs that are in the area. Iceman is up and we see there are 4 migs. Hollywood is shot with a missle, and goes down. They launch Maverick and he moves in, they cannot launch anymore planes because the catapult is broken. Missile is launched at Iceman, but it misses. Maverick flys through the jet wash and almost loses control; he starts freaking out and Iceman is pissed. He asks Goose for help, and he reengages. He shoots down one mig. Another missile fired and missed. As one mig moves around behind Maverick, Iceman gets a shot at another mig, but is then shot by a different mig. Maverick fires a missile and misses, but gets him on the second shot. Maverick pulls the same move he did on Jester, and gets behind the mig, and destroys it. The rest of the migs bug out and they return to the carrier, performing another flyby and buzz the tower. They land to jubilation and celebration, Iceman tells him he's still dangerous, but that they can be wingmen anytime. Somewhere below deck, he throws Gooses dog tags into the ocean, letting him go. He is told he can go anywhere he wants and decides he wants to be an instructor at Top Gun. As he sits at the diner, That Lovin' Feeling starts playing and Charlie appears behind him. They have a very similar conversation to their first one, they embrace and cut to end credits. -Why is everyone always so sweaty?-Is dogfighting even a thing anymore?-If that had happened, it probably would've led to nuclear war in 86.  Top Five Trivia of the movie: Top 5 Trivia-The F-14 pilot who "flipped the bird" at the MiG pilot was Scott Altman of VF-51, who eventually became a NASA astronaut flying as pilot on two missions and as commander on two more missions.-Tom Cruise had to wear lifts in his scenes with Kelly McGillis. Cruise is 5'7" (1.70 m) while McGillis is 5'10" (1.78 m).-After the "car chase" when Charlie tells Maverick that she didn't want anyone to find out she was falling for him, Maverick originally had a line to say. Tom Cruise forgot the line and "ad libbed" by kissing Kelly McGillis instead. Tony Scott liked it so much, he left the scene like that.-This film is credited with starting the home video industry. Originally, VHS tapes were priced at $100 upon their first release, and were sold mainly to video stores. This film was priced to own immediately upon release, made possible by Pepsi Cola buying ad space at the beginning of the tape. Since then, pricing VHS tapes to own right away became a common practice.-Kenny Loggins was not the first choice to record the song "Danger Zone" for the film. TOTO and REO Speedwagon were two of the groups considered prior to Loggins. Bonus: The real Top Gun School imposes a $5 fine to any staff member that quotes the film.  **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Some of the bar's interior footage was filmed in a real Anaheim bar that is now closed.Swayze was not a fan of the legendary mullet. As iconic as Swayze's mullet was, the actor referred to his Road House hairstyle as "the bane of my existence" in the biographical book One Last Dance. The NYPD uses the movie's three simple rules during retraining.Patrick, in the role of Dalton, lays down the three rules of the Double Deuce club. In 2015, New York Post exclusively reported that lecture portions of a mandatory, three-day retraining course for cops were being revamped with Road House as a training tool. Swayze's hotness caused problems on set. During shooting, a horde of middle-aged blonde women in a truck tried to pull up in front of the actor's trailer, in a wild attempt to speak with Swayze. During the film's river fight scene, a raft of Swayze fans cruised by. Back at Sottys house, he replies to an email sent to him from "Mike" his German pen pal. Cooper warns him that he could end up being sex trafficked when "Mike" asks to meet up. Scotty attends a graduation party that evening with Cooper, where the band, fronted by Matt Damon, performs a song detailing his affair Fiona called Scotty Doesn't Know. Cooper finds himself in a hot tub with a girl and convinces her to take her top off, before getting caught by some jocks and thrown out. Scotty returns home drunk and angry and reads an email from his German pen pal, expressing sympathy for Scotty and suggesting they meet in person. Remembering Coopers suggestion that "Mike" may be a sexual predator, Scotty tells Mike to stay away from him. The next morning, a very hungover Scotty sees his younger brother, Bert, reading his email and informs him that "Mieke" is actually a common German feminine name. Realizing that he had mistaken her name and that he has feelings for Mieke, Scotty tries to contact her again, but finds that Mieke has blocked his email address. Scotty decides to travel to Europe with Cooper to find Mieke and apologize in-person. -This whole movie could've been resolved if he just made another email address-Finoa is pretty hot-I LOVE Cooeprs line of "this isn't where I parked my car"... I used to use that one occasionally.-Its funny that with all the practice with writing German, he mistook Mieke for a guy, considering she probably used feminine pronouns.-Did you have a passport when you were 18? Could you have just up and gone to Europe? Scotty and Cooper go tot he airport and find flights via being couriers. They first arrive in London, where they en dup in a Manchester United hooligan pub; they eventually befriend their leader, Mad Maynard. After a night of drinking, Scotty and Cooper wake up on a bus on their way to Paris with the hooligans. In Paris, they meet up with their classmates, Jenny and Jamie, fraternal twins who are touring Europe together. While in Paris, they decide to visit the Louvre, but are met with a VERY long line. While waiting, Cooper gets creeped out by a street performing robot. Scotty begins imitating him, and this leads to a robot fight; ending with Scotty kicking the robot guy in the balls. That evening Jenny and Jamie decide to accompany Scotty and Cooper to find Mieke in Berlin. The group travels to Amsterdam, where Jamie is robbed while receiving oral sex in an alley, losing everyone's money, passports, and train tickets. Cooper, in his continuing attempt at crazy European sex, visits Club Vandersexxx; which turns out to be a dominatrix club fun by Lucy Lawless. Cooper is then sexually assaulted with a tripple dildo machine. Meanwhile, Jenny and Scotty think they are trying hash brownies; but it turns out there is no weed in them and they are not high. With their money and passports gone, they attempt to hitchhike to Berlin, but due to a language misunderstanding, they end up in Bratislava. Finding a great exchange rate with the U.S. dollar, the group goes to a nightclub. Drunk on absinthe, Jenny and Jamie make out with each other, witnessed by Scotty and Cooper, and are horrified when they realize what they are doing. The next day, a Slovak man drives them to Berlin, where they learn from Miekes dad that Mieke has left with a summer tour group, and will be reachable in Rome for only a short time. While Scotty is talking to Miekes dad, Cooper watches Miekes young step-brother color a tiny mustache on himself and goose step around his apartment; much to Coopers surprise. As they debate what to do outside the apartment, Jamie sells his Leica Camera for plane tickets to Rome to find Mieke. -Apparently the courier thing was a real thing, but has declined over the past 10-15 years, as couriers built their own fleets.-The robot fight is hilarious, but obviously not realistic at all.-Michelle Trachtenberg is hot. Killer body. I miss the shirts like she wears in the Bratislava, which I didn't know was a real country until recently. It doesn't look like the movies, though, very nice and pedestrian.-A used Leica M6 on Ebay was going for $2,772.-I love the whole Bratislava section; the green fairy and everything. I find it hilarious. In Rome, the group heads to Vatican City, where Mieke is touring before her summer at sea. Inside the Vatican, Scotty and Cooper search for Mieke and accidentally rings the bell that signals the Pope has died. They unknowingly enter the popes apartment, and after some fooling around, and accidentally dressing up as the pope, and accidentally setting a papal hat on fire, indicating a new pope has been elected, Scotty appears on the papal balcony, and everyone assumes he's the new pope. He spots Mieke in the cheering crowd below; all this happens while the current pope is watching on his tv. The Swiss guards realizes what is going on and detain Scotty and Cooper for their actions. However, the Manchester United football hooligans from London suddenly appears at the Vatican and telling the guards to release Scotty and Cooper. Scotty finally introduces himself to Mieke and confesses his love. Mieke is happy to see him, and they have sex in a confessional booth before she leaves on her trip. On the flight back to Ohio, Jenny and Cooper give into their urges and have sex in the plane's lavatory, while Jamie stays in Europe after being hired by Arthur Frommer. -No way they would've been able to just get into the Vatican without some sort of tour group paper work. Even if he did know everything.-There is no way access to the Popes apartment is just in a random door that is accessible by anyone. Also weird they would have the bell that indicates the pope has died right by his door.-In the original ending, Mieke turns Scotty down... Making a more rational decision that they don't know each other well enough.  Scotty moves to Oberlin College in the fall term for his studies. During his phone conversation with Cooper, who is now dating Jenny, Cooper asks what Scotty's new roommate looks like. Mieke knocks on the door of his room, having been assigned to the same room because of another misunderstanding about her name. Scotty and Mieke embrace and get into bed together, with Cooper calling for Scott on the other end of a still-open cell phone call and the film closing with the Absinthe Green Fairy wondering at his own lack of a sex life. -You'd think in one of the forms Mieke would've had to fill out to attend college, and get assigned a dorm room, she would have checked the "female" box, but I guess they missed that part. If anything, I feel bad she's probably in an all male dorm. Also, at 18... I mean, I seriously doubt they'll end up together forever.  Top Five Trivia of the movie: Top 5 TriviaThey had a lot of trouble casting Scotty. “It had gotten to the point, literally, where we were going to restaurants, staring at our waiters,” said Mandel of the search for Scotty. Luckily, Mechlowicz, a UCLA student at the time, “rode in on a white horse” to save them from further stress over casting the all-important part. Meanwhile, Trachtenberg credited her physical comedy in her audition — which was the airplane scene where Jenny climbs over Cooper on her way to the bathroom — to her getting the job offer from the producers. “And I blew them,” deadpanned Trachtenberg, who got several laughs from the crowd for her natural EuroTrip-style humor. Above all, though, producers said it was important to them at the time to cast real teenagers in the roles. “We didn't want 35-year-olds playing high school kids,” said Schaffer.Despite all the political incorrectness in the film, there was one scene that was just too much for the studio, referred to by producers as “The Anne Frank sex scene.” In the scene — never filmed but available in script form on the original DVD, they claim — Cooper finds a flyer for a sex club called “The Secret Room” and accidentally misidentifies the house of Anne Frank as the club. (“He asks somebody, ‘Is this The Secret Room' and they go, ‘Yes, it will change your life,'” Berg recalled.) Encountering a big line outside, Cooper assumes he has found the correct place, but instead of waiting, he goes through a backdoor. Once he discovers a small room with a small bed, he decides to get naked and wait for a sex worker — but soon after finds himself exposed in front of a tour group. (To make matters worse, Anne Frank's only living relative was a part of the tour group.) And as if that wasn't enough to horrify the studio, the scene also had Cooper reaching for a small mannequin — one guess as to whom it was modeled after — and covering his private parts with it, resulting in an unintended sexually explicit visual for the tour group. The producers wrote the Club Vandersexxx scene to replace this scene once it was nixed. The original title was Ugly Americans. But the studio didn't want the movie with “ugly” in the title or a “sarcastic or ironic” title, said Schaffer. “We had a knock-down, drag-out fight with them,” said Schaffer, “which is like having a fight with your parents when you're four because they can call it whenever they want.” And they did.The nude beach scene originally had much less nudity in it. But once they started filming, they realized it took away from the comedy to have all the extras holding surf boards and other objects — Austin Powers-style — to cover their private parts. “We thought, ‘Wouldn't it be funnier if it was just wall-to-wall penises?'” said Mandel. The extras likely didn't mind the change; according to Trachtenberg, there was a lack of shyness between takes, making for an awkward craft services environment.Matt Damon's cameo — as the band leader/guy who steals Scotty's girlfriend, played by Kristin Kreuk — came together because the producers knew him from their days at Harvard…and he was in Prague. In fact, many parts, including Jeffrey Tambor's, were filled because the actors were already shooting in Prague, where EuroTrip was filmed. “No one wanted to fly over and we didn't have the money to have anyone fly over,” recalled Schaffer. “So we basically looked around and said, ‘Who's filming in Prague?'” Luckily, Damon was in town shooting The Brothers Grimm. Not so lucky, however, was that the only night he was available was the shortest night of the summer, so “we literally had from 10:45 at night…and the sun would come up at 3:45,” remembered Schaffer. “So we shot it in, like, 4.5 hours.”And a little fun tidbit from me Marcus the Song Scotty doesn't know Matt Damon sing on Spotify it has 124 762 320M Downloads. Cards Against Humanity Welcome to The Guys Review, where we review media, products and experiences.   **READ APPLE REVIEWS/Fan Mail**Mention Twitter DM group - like pinned tweet @The_GuysReviewRead emails theguysreviewpod@gmail.comTwitter Poll Cards Against Humanity: Cards Against Humanity is an adult party game in which players complete fill-in-the-blank statements using words or phrases typically deemed offensive, risqué or politically incorrect printed on playing cards. It has been compared to the 1999 card game apples to apples and originated from a Kickstarter campaign in 2011. Its title refers to the phrase "crimes against humanity", reflecting its politacally incorrect content.   Cards Against Humanity was created by a group of eight Highland park high school alumni. Heavily influenced by the popular Apples to Apples card game, it was initially named Cardenfreude (a pun on schadenfraude) and involved a group of players writing out the most abstract and, often, humorous response to the topic question. The name was later changed to Cards Against Humanity, with the answers pre-written on the white cards known today. Co-creator Ben Hantoot cited experiences with various games such as Magic:The gathering, Balderdash, and Charades as inspiration, also noting that Mad Libs was "the most direct influence" for the game. The game was financed with a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign and influenced by a previous crowd-funded campaign for a book on the design of then-President of the United States of America Barack Obama's Campaign. The campaign started on December 1, 2010; it met its goal of $4,000 in two weeks. The campaign ended on January 30, 2011, and raised over $15,000; just under 400% of its original goal. With this additional money raised towards the game, the creators added fifty more cards to the game itself.  An exerpt from BloombergsCards against humanity LLC, the maker of the eponymous and tasteless-by-design party game, is exploring a potential sale, according to people familiar with the matter. The Chicago-based company is working with an adviser, Moelis & Co., after it received takeover interest, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information was private. The company is seeking to be valued at around $500 million in a transaction, the people added. The company generates earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, of between $40 million to $50 million a year.Cards Against Humanity hasn't made a final decision on pursuing a sale and could decide to remain independent, the people said.Representatives for the company and Moelis declined to comment.  One of its co-founders, Max Temkin, stepped down in June 2020 after reports of a toxic work environment, according to a statement on its website. Temkin no longer participates in the business but is still one of the owners of the company, which is run and controlled by its co-founders, a person familiar with the matter said. The company said at the time it would hire a specialist to improve human resources, hiring and management practices at the company.  1. Cards Against Humanity started as a game made of construction paper. In 2009, Max Temkin, Josh Dillon, Daniel Dranove, Eli Halpern, Ben Hantoot, David Munk, David Pinsof, and Eliot Weinstein—a group of friends, most of whom had attended high school together—got together over their winter break and decided to design a game that could entertain guests during their annual New Year's Eve parties. While they thought of a variety of games, only one of them—which they called Cardenfreude, after schadenfreude, the German word for delighting in another's misfortuneThe team successfully sold bull dung to consumers. For a 2014 Black Friday promotional stunt, the Cards Against Humanity company promised to send consumers a box of “bullsh*t.” The company sold and shipped boxes containing a solid piece of real bull dung that was procured from a cattle ranch in Texas. All 30,000 pieces, which were priced at $6 each, sold out within a half-hour the day they went on sale.According to Temkin, the fecal matter was intended to be a commentary on the sensationalist nature of the hype surrounding Black Friday sales. They've made a tradition of attention-grabbing projects each holiday season. In 2015, they held a “promotion” in which people could send them $5 and get nothing in return. (They collected $71,145 and split it among their employees.) In 2016, the company dug a purposely pointless “holiday hole” in an undisclosed area using funds donated by customers. In 2018, the company held a 99-percent-off sale which featured bizarre items at a steep discount like a cheese wheel and an actual car for $97.50. The items were purportedly all real and delivered to purchasers. The company opened a pop-up store. In 2017, the team behind Cards Against Humanityopened a pop-up store in Chicago in collaboration with the Chicago Design Museum. Located in Block 37's Chicago Design Market, the storefront sold a variety of games and other Cards Against Humanity-related merchandise, as well as work from local artists. The store was temporary, but the company still sells products via retail outlets like Target and Walmart. The staff contemplated destroying an original Picasso. In December 2015, the staff of Cards Against HumanityacquiredTête de Faune, an original work by Pablo Picasso. Though it was never conclusively determined how they had come to acquire it, it was likely from a Chicago-area art dealer. The team ran an online poll to decide whether it should be donated to the Art Institute of Chicago or sliced into 150,000 pieces and distributed to consumers. Of the 50,000 people who voted, 71.3 percent opted to keep it intact. One of the Cards Against Humanity expansion packs in 2015 was science themed and the profits were intended to create a scholarship for women going into science fields. So far over $500,000 have been raised. Top Five Trivia of the movie: Top 5 Trivia  **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Letterkenny Live2 Breakfast club3 T24 Sandlot5 Back to the Future Chris:1. sandlots2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_America:_The_First_AvengerIn the present day, scientists in the Arctic uncover an old, frozen aircraft. In March 1942, Nazi lieutenant general Johann Schmidt and his men steal a mysterious relic called the Tesseract,[N 2] which possesses untold godly powers, from the town of Tønsberg in German-occupied Norway. In New York City, Steve Rogers is rejected for World War II military recruitment due to his various health and physical problems. While attending an exhibition of future technologies with his best friend, Sgt. James "Bucky" Barnes, Rogers again attempts to enlist. Overhearing Rogers' conversation with Barnes about representing his country in the war, Dr. Abraham Erskine allows Rogers to enlist. He is recruited into the Strategic Scientific Reserve as part of a "super-soldier" experiment under Erskine, Colonel Chester Phillips, and British agent Peggy Carter. Phillips is unconvinced by Erskine's claims that Rogers is the right person for the procedure but relents after seeing Rogers jump on a grenade to save his comrades, unaware that it is a test. The night before the treatment, Erskine reveals to Rogers that Schmidt underwent the procedure prematurely and suffered permanent side-effects.Schmidt and Dr. Arnim Zola harness the energies of the Tesseract, intending to use the power to fuel Zola's inventions, mounting an offensive that will change the world. Schmidt discovers Erskine's location and sends assassin Heinz Kruger to kill him. Erskine subjects Rogers to the super-soldier treatment, injecting him with a special serum and dosing him with "vita-rays". After Rogers emerges from the experiment taller and more muscular, an undercover Kruger kills Erskine and flees with a vial of the serum. Rogers pursues and captures Kruger, but the assassin avoids interrogation by committing suicide with a cyanide capsule. With Erskine dead and his super-soldier formula lost, U.S. Senator Brandt has Rogers tour the nation in a colorful costume as "Captain America" to promote war bonds while scientists study him and attempt to reverse-engineer the formula. In 1943, while on tour in Italy performing for active servicemen, Rogers learns that Barnes' unit was MIA in a battle against Schmidt's forces. Refusing to believe that Barnes is dead, Rogers has Carter and engineer Howard Stark fly him behind enemy lines to mount a solo rescue attempt. Rogers infiltrates the fortress of Schmidt's Hydra division, freeing Barnes and the other prisoners. Rogers confronts Schmidt, who removes a mask to reveal a red, skull-like visage that earned him the sobriquet "the Red Skull". Schmidt escapes and Rogers returns to base with the freed soldiers.Rogers recruits Barnes, Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Jim Morita, James Montgomery Falsworth, and Jacques Dernier to attack other known Hydra bases. Stark outfits Rogers with advanced equipment, most notably a circular shield made of vibranium, a rare, nearly indestructible metal. Rogers and his team sabotage various Hydra operations, while he and Carter begin to fall in love. In 1945, the team assaults a train carrying Zola. Rogers and Jones succeed in capturing Zola, but Barnes falls from the train to his apparent death.[N 3] Using information extracted from Zola, the final Hydra stronghold is located, and Rogers leads an attack to stop Schmidt from using weapons of mass destruction on major American cities. Rogers climbs aboard Schmidt's aircraft as it takes off. During the subsequent fight, the Tesseract's container is damaged. Schmidt physically handles the Tesseract, which opens a wormhole into space, sucking him into it. The Tesseract burns through the plane and is lost in the ocean. Seeing no way to land the plane without the risk of detonating its weapons, Rogers radios Carter and says goodbye to her before crashing in the Arctic. Stark later recovers the Tesseract from the ocean floor but is unable to locate Rogers or the aircraft, presuming him dead.Rogers awakens in a 1940s-styled hospital room. Hearing a radio broadcast of a baseball game that he attended in 1941, Rogers grows suspicious, flees outside and finds himself in present-day Times Square, where S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury informs him that he has been "asleep" for nearly 70 years. In a post-credits scene, Fury approaches Rogers and proposes a mission with worldwide ramifications.[N 4]Web: https://theguysreview.simplecast.com/EM: theguysreviewpod@gmail.comIG: @TheGuysReviewPod TW: @The_GuysReview FB: https://facebook.com/TheGuysReviewPod/YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYKXJhq9LbQ2VfR4K33kT9Q   Please, Subscribe, rate and review us wherever you get your podcasts from!!   Thank you, -The Guys

The principal architect of the project was Olivier Vinour of the firm Marye, Alger and Vinour. The design is supposed to replicate an Arabian courtyard, complete with 96 flickering lights and clouds that move across the ceiling. There is an Egyptian Ballroom that is designed after a temple for Ramses II at Karnak while the mezzanine Ladies Lounge features a replica of the throne chair of King Tut and makeup tables that feature tiny Sphinxes. The theater opened on December 25, 1929, just two months after the stock market crash. Originally build for the shriners, when the project went over budget, they leased the building to William Fox, a movie mogul who was building theaters around the country at the time. The theatre closed December, 1932, 125 weeks after it opened due to the Shriners defaulting on the mortgage and Fox going bankrupt. It was purchased by Paramount Pictures and Lucas & Jenkins, a Georgia company that owned a hundred theatres. In the 1940's the Fox because one of the most popular locations, with the Egyptian room drawing big bands and country and western swing bands of the era. It was notable for being the only club in Atlanta at the time that would allow both black and white patrons. Though still segregated, with a seperate entrance that still remains today at the back of the theatre for historical purposes. The Fox would fully integrate in 1962 In the 70's there was a decline in the theatre attendance, and was almost sold to AT&T with plans to tear it down and put a parking deck in its place, but was ultimately subverted by a group and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in May 1974. Celebrities that assisted saving the Fox include Liberace and Lynyrd Skynyrd (recording their first live album there and debuting guitarist Ed King's replacement, Steve Gaines, to the world). The U.S. Department of the Interior subsequently named the Fox a National Historic Landmark on May 26, 1976, citing its architectural uniqueness. Currently, the Fox is the only remaining movie palace in Atlanta, being run by the non-profit group, Atlanta Landmarks, Inc. An estimated 750,000 people visit the Fox every year. The venue was the site of Prince's final performance, held one week before his death on April 21, 2016. Notable acts who have played the Fox are Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Pearl Jam, the Allman Brothers, Ray Charles, James Brown, B-52s, A fun bit of trivia... When the shriners built the theatre, they built a 3,640 sq/ft office space in the theatre that was converted into an apartment that Joe Patten, the technical director from 1974 to 2004, occupied with a rent free lease for life. Patten died in 2016. Since then, the space has been unoccupied, but there is a passageway leads from the bedroom to a former spotlight platform at the top of the auditorium. Thoughts and impressions of the Fox theatre? Would you visit again? Special thanks to Megan George and Aly Grubb for the media tickets they gave us, they were fantastic seats.  Letterkenny Live Produced by New Metric media Staring:Jared KeesoNathan DalesK. Trevor WilsonMichelle MylettMark ForwardTyler JohnstonDylan PlayfairAndrew HerrEvan Stern Letterkenny live was started back in 2018, with only Jared Keeso, Nathan Dales, K. Trevor Wilson, and Mark Forward. Michelle Mylett joined in 2019, and Johnston, Playfair, Herr and Stern joining 2020. Though, the 2020 tour was, of course, postponed indefinitely in March. The dates were not announced to be rescheduled on July 19, 2021. Based on the show of the same name, the stage performance consists of some old, reworked, and new sketches with the cast. Including a set of stand up by Mark Forward and K. Trevor Wilson... and as themselves, not in costume. Which is funny because they reference the actors may resemble the characters. Letterkenny, the tv show, debuted on Crave tv in canada in Feburary 2015, which was based on the YouTube channel Keeso developed called Letterkenny Problems. It arrived in the US in July 2018 on Hulu who now owns exclusive distribution rights in the US. Its been nominated and won numerous Canadian screen awards, including best comedy series, best directing for Jacob Tierney (who directs all the episodes of Letterkenny), Best Lead Actor for Jared Keeso, even technical awards like best editing and best photography for the Sleepover episode. Back to Letterkenny live, Mark Forward, as Coach, welcomed everyone to the show and then informed us that due to an injury, Taylor Johnston who plays Stewart will not be performing that night... Which prompts some boos, and I yelled that it's fucking embarrassing... Which Coach agreed with. Roald then comes on stage and addresses the crowd, being weird and funny, then the hicks start coming on stage. Staring with Squirrely Dan, followed by Katy, then Dary, finally Wayne enters to thunderous applause. They do some back and forth, and crowd interaction with How're ya now? The crowd yells back, Good'n you?! It was fun. They exit the stage and Reily and Jonesy come on and do a bit talking about hockey, referencing the Atlanta Thrashers hockey team, when we hear Shoresy start chirping them from the toilet as he did in the show... But Shorseys chips also work in local attractions and themes, like coke and hot chicken. This goes for a bit, as usual, but its very engaging and works well. I feel there were more sketches, just a little cross over stuff. Roald then introduces Mark Forward to do a small set of stand up. His humor is very misdirectional, like when he walks on stage, he says things like, "yes, thank you, I'm very good." His set was funny, but I honestly don't remember much from it, but he ended it was a joke/song that he admitted before he started that it was "stupid" Xavier McCutchins, who named bears until the end. After Mark finished, another hick skit ened with Coach telling the hicks people want to see the classics. They started updating the crowd on what everyone else in Letterkenny is upto, also giving the crowd a sneak peek to season 11, and showing a cold open to an episode. They moved to an intermission, during which we were able to move everyone from our original seats to about 7 rows back, right in the center. It was awesome. Going into the second half, they continue giving humorous updates to other characters in letterkenny, as well as showing a preview for Shoresy, and a blooper reel for S10. Followed by K. Trevor Wilson coming on and doing a stand up set. His standup is totally different from Mark Forward, and Squirrely Dans character. His long form, informal storytelling type of jokes were a change of pace. We got another skit of Reilly and Jonesy being chirped by Shoresy, again throwing in references to Atlanta like the Varsity and chili hotdogs. And coach drunkenly talking about barb. The final skit brought back one of the best bits from the show, when the whole cast comes on stage making porn sounds, yes yes yes yes yesing and "aw fuck, aw fuck." The lights go out, the cast had a group hug, as they did their curtain call, they introduced themselves and each said something they loved about Atlanta. Two final bows, and they exit stage right. Lights up, and the show is over. Thoughts on the show? But I don't get Kyle saying "I can't do this"... Its not implied that he would fuck the stripper, just get a dance. Nothing wrong with that.-That's a way to kill someone-I don't like it when Christian Slater makes a good point about concealing an accidental murder.-That security guy could've made it so much easier on himself... Poor guy. Why would you stab him with a cork screw?-The movie is billed a black comedy, but it's not funny. The situation is mildy humorous, but its mostly just dark.-Can you imagine drinking that much, doing that many drugs, then having to just stop and start cleaning everything up? In this film's case, Dershowitz said that a strong case could be made that the prostitute's death was an accident or involuntary manslaughter, though the huge amount of drugs in the suite would complicate that (and would leave the guys open to major prison time via the DEA). However, he said that all of the men would be charged with first-degree murder anyway because of the deliberate stabbing death of the hotel security guard.4) While the guys are trying to get rid of the dead body, Christian Slater's character is asked incredulously "Have you ever done this before?" The same thing was asked of him in Heathers (1988) when he is trying to cover up an accidental suicide that he manipulated. In both films, he hears the question, then pointedly does not answer it.5) The weekend of the night in Vegas can be worked out due to the guys watching UFC 10 on pay-per-view: July 12, 1996. Like Oingo Boingo's Danny Elfman, Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh has found tremendous success as a composer, working on kid TV shows like Rugrats, the famous "Get a Mac" commercials, several Wes Anderson films, and more recently, 21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, and one of our favorite scores, Thor: Ragnarok. Almost 20 years after Happy Gilmore, Mothersbaugh composed the music for Adam Sandler's Hotel Transylvania, at the urging of his then young kids. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Doug attends a minor league hockey game with his best friend Pat (Jay Baruchel). Pat taunts the visiting team during a fight and one of their players climbs into the stands, calling him a homosexual slur. Doug (whose brother is gay) steps in and easily beats up the opposing player, as Pat films him, and the video goes is played on Pats hockey show, prompting the coach to call in and tell Doug to come try out as an enforcer. -I like how it starts, with the fight;-I cant see Sean William Scott and not see Stiffler-Jays hair is rediculous, with the cuts...and one is crooked-That was a brutal fight-Are those the guys from the Trailer Park Boys in the studio?-Good for Doug getting his 'thing'-Jay has a terrible Boston accent Meanwhile, veteran enforcer and Doug's idol Ross "The Boss" Rhea (Liev Schreiber) is demoted to the minors after serving a 20-game suspension for slashing an opponent in the head from behind. Three years prior, Rhea hit and concussed the highly-skilled prospect Xavier Laflamme (Marc-André Grondin), who has had trouble recovering from the incident due to the fear of being hit, resulting in his being stuck in the minors. After earning the nickname "The Thug," Doug was hired by a farm team in Canada where Laflamme plays, the Halifax Highlanders, to protect Laflamme and be his roommate. The Highlanders experience success with Doug as their enforcer, and he quickly becomes popular among fans and teammates, much to the chagrin of his parents and Laflamme, who loses ice time and the alternate-captaincy to Doug.Doug also becomes romantically involved with Eva (Alison Pill), a hockey fan with a penchant for players. -So he went from not playing hockey, to an amateur team, to a pro team in, like, 2-3 games?-Def weird to sign someones dick. The Eva arch is interesting... Not sure what scared her off.-She walked in talking to her bf, and only pulled back after they kissed? With four games left on their schedule, the Highlanders need two wins to secure a playoff spot. On a road game in Quebec after an opposing player concusses Laflamme with a heavy hit, Doug savagely beats the player unconscious and is suspended for the next game against Rhea and the St. John's Shamrocks. Doug encounters Rhea at a diner, where Rhea dismisses Doug's claim that he is a hockey player, calling him a goon. Though Rhea acknowledges Doug's physical prowess and gives Doug his respect, Rhea warns him that if they ever meet on the ice, he will "lay [him] the fuck out." The Highlanders (with Doug suspended and Laflamme hospitalized) lose to the Shamrocks. Doug reaches out to Laflamme, and promises him he will always have his back on the ice. In their next game, the Highlanders lead 1–0 thanks to strong teamwork between Doug and Laflamme. -Glad his family showed up, they're supportive-Doug in the bedroom was intense-Did Doug let the guy check LeFlamme? and fake going after him afterwards?-Eva calling herself a slut and admitting to sleeping around was an odd turn-Interesting meeting between Doug and Rhea-Stomach light?-I don't understand the turn around with LeFlamme In the final seconds, Doug blocks a slapshot with his face and his ankle is injured in the ensuing scramble. The Highlanders win, but they need a win against Rhea and the Shamrocks in their last game for a playoff spot. After two periods, the Shamrocks are beating the Highlanders 2–0. Rhea and Doug drop the gloves in the third period. Doug is knocked down first, but Rhea calls off the linesmen and allows him to get back up. Doug manages to break Rhea's nose, but breaks his previously injured ankle in the process. Doug manages to stand back up and knocks out Rhea with a vicious left hook. Eva and his teammates help a seriously injured Doug off the ice and Laflamme, inspired by Doug's efforts and Rhea's defeat, scores a natural hat trick, giving the Highlanders a 3–2 lead.As the game enters its final minute, the final scene has Eva comforting Doug in the locker room as he comments, "I think I nailed him." -Damn the puck to the face... but a good stop.-Do Doug and Rhea will meet in the playoffs, and LaFlamme doesn't walk on the logo-The music during the last game was weird... very tense and ominous. Not what you'd expect.-Whats with the weak ankles? Never mentioned before the fight.-That fight was pretty epic and brutal, worth the wait.-Like how Rhea smiled when he was getting up-Good, happy ending. The end Top Five Trivia of the movie: TOP 5 FACTSSeann William Scott gained weight for the role of Doug Glatt, as well as taking intensive skating lessons and fighting on ice.A great majority of the cast is comprised by Canadian actors, including the well-established actors in Hollywood like Jay Baruchel, Kim Coates, Alison Pill and Eugene Levy. The only non-Canadians in major roles are Minnesota-native Seann William Scott and New Yorker Liev Schreiber. Ironically, Baruchel plays an American character (a thickly-accented Massachusetts native) in the film, while Schreiber plays a Canadian character. The scene where Rhea sheds crocodile tears during a press conference was a reference to NHL player Todd Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi, playing for the Vancouver Canucks at the time, punched Colorado Avalanche's Steve Moore in the back of the head during a game causing an injury that would end Moore's career. In a press conference afterwards, an emotional Bertuzzi tearfully apologized for the incident, which cost him a $500,000 salary deduction and a 17 month suspension.Seann William Scott gained weight for the role of Doug Glatt, as well as taking intensive skating lessons and fighting on ice.In an interview with hockey blog Puck Daddy, Liev Schreiber notes that he was inspired by former hockey enforcer Bob Probert. As an homage to the player, he taped his wrists for the film, just as Probert had done when he played. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Guess when you're sacrificing virgins, a little dab of hot sauce goes a long way. We could sacrifice a virgin if Tucker would volunteer.  The first sauces were probably just water and peppers, but due to colonization (thanks Chris) and imported foods and ingredients, it soon evolved and hot sauce went all over the world. Hot sauce became commercialized in 1868 when Edmund McIlhenny, a banker from Maryland moved to Louisiana and created the first batch of Tabasco hot sauce. Although there are hot sauce varieties all around the world, with regional differences, tabasco is one of the largest. The Scoville scale is a system that measures the level of capsaicinoids (which includes all the spicy chemicals, not just capsaicin) in a particular substance. It was developed in 1912 by pharmacist Wilbur Scoville. Its unit of measure, Scoville heat units (SHU), is used when discussing the spiciness of a particular food. SHUs can also be used for non-food items, such as law-enforcement-grade pepper spray, which can be anywhere between 2 to 5 million SHU. For example, a pepperoncini registers 100-500 SHU, A habanero is 350,000-500,000, the highest being Carolina Reaper at 1.4M to 2.2Million... the only thing higher is police pepper spray at 2-5M. Market: from https://www.fortunebusinessinsights.com/industry-reports/hot-sauce-market-100495The global hot sauce market is $2.54B in 2020, but hindered by covid. The global market showed lower growth of 4.91% in 2020. The global hot sauce market is anticipated to grow from $2.71 billion in 2021 to $4.38 billion in 2028 at a CAGR (Compound annual growth rate) of 7.1% during forecast period, 2021-2028. Globally, the primary factor driving the demand for hot sauces is the influence of Asian cuisines, followed by Indian and Latin cuisines across all geographies. The market was broken down by the following types of sauces: Tabasco (holds the largest share at about 23%), habanero, jalapeno, sweet and spicy, and other. The N American market share is $1.13B.  Top Five Trivia of Hot Sauce: 1)  The first advertisement for hot sauce is from 1807 for a cayenne hot sauce2) Over 54% of households have hot sauce in their pantry, 9% have Sriracha3) The market for hot sauce has grown 5% every year, for the last 5 years.4) In order to be considered a hot sauce, your favorite brand has to contain chili peppers. A chili pepper contains more vitamin C than an orange, more vitamin A than carrots, and is low in calories.5) Hot sauce may even help you lose weight by curbing your appetite and making you less likely to crave sugary foods. TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Few punches and a stab.-Back to the begninning, and he's alive.-So he steals someone elses dog? The end Top Five Trivia of the movie: Marcus Facts about John wick 1 When Kolstad was writing John Wick, he orginally titled the film Scorn then he decided to name his protagonist after his grandfather, John Wick, a businessman who owned Wick Building Systems in Madison, Wisconsin. 2 The Action scenes had to be muted. On location in New York City, Stahelski and Leitch had to exercise caution when it came to staging shootouts and car chases, and not just for safety. Their filming permit didn't allow for blank ammunition, so computer-generated muzzle flashes were often used. 3 Based on how many dynamic action scenes the John Wick movies include, it is pretty obvious that filming them must be somewhat arduous for series star Keanu Reeves. As it turns out, that was especially true for the actor when they filmed the nightclub scene he had the flu at the time and was running a 104° fever. 4 Michael Nyqvist, who played Viggo Tarasov, had to have 80 stitches put in his head after a stunt went wrong while filming. 5: Director Chad Stahelski was Keanu Reeves' stunt double in The Matrix movies The story is loosely inspired by an incident in Texas involving former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, who wrote Lone Survivor, about his fireteam's ordeal during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in 2005. Luttrell was given a yellow labrador puppy, whom he named DASY, after the members of his fireteam. On April 1, 2009, at about 1:00 a.m., Luttrell was awakened by a gunshot, and saw four men drive away. DASY was dead in his yard from a gunshot wound. He armed himself with two 9mm Beretta pistols and chased the men through four counties in his truck until police apprehended them. They taunted Luttrell, threatened to kill him, and indicated no remorse for their actions. They were later sentenced for animal cruelty. Luttrell stated later, "I spared them, because I've killed enough people already."    TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. He attempts to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend Marnie, despite her treating him poorly. Meanwhile, an attractive and successful woman named Molly McCleish, arrives at the terminal to board a flight. Kirk is the only TSA agent who does not flirt with or attempt to harass her, attracting Molly, especially after he saves her from his boss who makes unwanted advances on her. After boarding, she calls her cell phone accidentally left behind at security, Kirk answers it and arranges to return it the following evening, deepening the attraction.Kirk and his friend Devon arrive at the Andy Warhol Museum the following evening to return Molly's phone. While there, Kirk is wrongly accused of spilling a drink on the museum director and is asked to leave. Molly feels bad and offers Kirk tickets to a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game. Kirk brings his friend, Stainer, to the game, where they meet Molly and her friend Patty. While Stainer and Molly are away from their seats, Patty tells Kirk that Molly is interested in him.Molly asks Kirk out a few days later and he agrees. Stainer predicts their relationship will fail, he refers to Molly as a "10", and Kirk as a "5", saying that is too big a difference. Patty meanwhile believes Molly has only chosen Kirk because he is "safe". While on their date, Kirk tells Molly that he dreams of becoming a pilot, while Molly shares her story of how she was once a lawyer before realizing her love for event planning. At the end of the night, they kiss in Kirk's car.Molly accompanies Kirk to a family lunch, where she charms the men and makes Marnie jealous. After returning to Molly's apartment, while making out, Kirk ejaculates prematurely in his pants and moments later Molly's parents arrive. Desperate to conceal the stain on his pants, Kirk seems discourteous by not standing up to shake hands and leaves quickly. Believing he fled to avoid meeting her parents, Molly ignores Kirk's calls. Kirk tracks her down and admits the true reasons for his leaving and she forgives him.At Molly's sister Katie's 21st birthday party, Kirk is troubled by Molly being intentionally vague about Kirk's line of work to her parents. Molly's ex-boyfriend Cam, a stunt pilot, then arrives and alludes to Molly having a physical defect. After the party, they return to Molly's apartment and partially undress. Kirk discovers Molly's "defect" is slightly webbed toes, which Kirk considers so minor that he decides that she is indeed too perfect for him. Upset with Kirk over his insecurities and wishing that there was something wrong with her to justify them being together, Molly confesses that Cam had the same problem. She admits she asked Kirk out because she considered him safe, causing Kirk to break up with her. Kirk resumes his relationship with Marnie and makes plans to attend a family vacation in Branson together.Later, Stainer asks an ex-girlfriend of his if he was good enough for her, she tells him that his insecurities caused her to end their relationship. Realizing he caused Kirk and Molly's break-up by telling Kirk that Molly was too good for him, Stainer phones Patty and gets her to bring Molly to the airport. Stainer tries to get Kirk off the plane he has boarded, but to no avail. He has Jack stop the plane, causing everyone to have to de-board. Kirk flees from Marnie, who chases after him, and Kirk breaks up with her in the process. Kirk meets Molly at the terminal gate, where she confesses Kirk's insecurities about himself are justified, but that she wants to be with him regardless. They reconcile and resume their relationship. In the ending credits, Kirk surprises Molly with a mystery trip to Cleveland via small aircraft, as he has fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot

Buffalo Bob's Jerky Review Welcome to The Guys Review, where we review media, products and experiences.   **READ APPLE REVIEWS/Fan Mail**Mention Twitter DM group - like pinned tweetRead emailsTwitter Poll Buffalo Bob's Jerky By: MarcusHistory of Beef Jerky: preserving meat that the Quecha Indians, a South American native tribe, originally from the ancient Inca empire, used as far back as 1550. They called it charqui, which literally translates into "dried meat". The Spanish Conquistadors realized this was a great way to preserve meat. They called it Char'qui. When they arrived in North America, they found the native Americans also drying meat to preserve it. The name char'qui eventually became "jerky". Jerky allowed people to be able to store meat and then consume a high protein source when food was scarce. The early pioneers and cowboys came to rely on jerky as a main staple of their diet. Soon, various spices were added to enhance the flavors. Today, many flavors, meats and styles of jerky are produced for one of the world's most popular snacks. Beef Jerky Market: from https://www.factmr.com/report/2130/beef-jerky-marketBeef Jerky Market: Beef Jerky Market Share & Trends Analysis, By Nature (Natural, Organic), By Flavor (Original, Teriyaki, Peppered), By Distribution Channel (Indirect, Online Retailers) & By Region Forecast, 2018-2028 the U.S. market has the highest consumption of beef jerky. The growth in the retail sales of beef jerky was observed to be higher than the past years in the United States last year and it has been increasing. According to, https://www.ibisworld.com/industry-statistics/market-size/meat-jerky-production-united-states/, The market size, measured by revenue, of the Meat Jerky Production industry is $1.2bn in 2022. The market size of the Meat Jerky Production industry is expected to increase 0.8% ($9.6M) in 2022. The market size of the Meat Jerky Production industry in the US has grown 1.0% ($12M) per year on average between 2017 and 2022 ($72M in market growth). Buffalo Bobs and Zicks Speciality Meats: Finding info on Buffalo Bobs was difficult. The Buffalo Bobs website (https://www.buffalobobssnacks.com/) is incomplete and has virtually no info. It lists their 26 jerky and meat products, and that's about it. I found one website (https://www.bestbeefjerky.org/2017/08/buffalo-bobs-jerky-exotic-meats.html) that said Buffalo Bobs was owned by Mark Matthews, and based out of Petaluma, CA. I couldn't find ANYTHING else about Matthews or where exactly in Petaluma he or the company is located. On the same website, it said that Buffalo Bobs is produced by Zicks Speciality Meats in Berrien Springs, Michigan. So I contacted them and Garrett Zick, the Vice-President of Zicks and son of the owner/founder emailed me back. He said Zicks was started back in 1983 and that they're most proud of the Buffalo Bobs meat snacks. He also told me they acquired the Buffalo Bobs brand from a company by the same name in Minnesota in the 90's. Originally they processed about 1,000lbs a week, but are now up tto 10-15K a week. Their best selling product is the alligator cajun jerky (no stats given). I did reply asking about Mark Matthews and received no response from Garrett. I also asked if there were any combinations they developed that didn't make it or tasted awful. I suggested some future exotic flavors as well: stir fry panda, ethiopian elephant, vegemite koala, and maybe curried cobra. Top Five Trivia of beef jerky: 1) While the term "jerky" is relatively newer, humans have been smoking meat (like Tucker) for thousands of years. A study (https://link.springer.com/referenceworkentry/10.1007%2F978-1-4020-4425-0_8752) Meat Preservation in Ancient Egypt goes into how the ancient egyptians would process and store dried meat, fish, and birds.2) Beef jerky is a favorite of NASA astronauts, often asked to be sent as extra food.3) Not only humans enjoy jerky, fire ants have been observed cutting "tasty" parts of their meals and setting them out to dry. While red squirrels will cut mushrooms and set them on sunny branches to dry and eat later.4) June 12th is national jerky day.5) Beef jerky is highly regulated by the USDA and imports are even more complicated, some countries don't even allow jerky imports. This is why most jerky is produced and packaged locally. Taste the jerky.  TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. It also became the first film to gross more than $2 billion. Nominated for nine Academy Awards and won three, for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects.  First time you saw the movie? Plot:We start flying through a jungle, with a voice over about flying in dream, and waking up. We see Sam Worthingtons Jake. He's waking up from 6 years in Cryo. We learn his twin brother was killed before shipping out, but that he's a dumb grunt. Jake arrives at Pandora. A fresh start on a new world, as he watches his brother get cremated. The ship approaches to land, we see how the jungle planet is being strip mined. We learn Jake is an ex-Marine, in a wheelchair, he says that spines can be fixed, but you'd need money. "You're not in Kansas anymore" we hear from Col. Quaritch; he talks about the Na'vi and their arrows dipped in neuro-toxin that will stop your hear in 1 minute. Jake enjoys the safety brief. Afterwards we meet Norm, and we're introduced to the Avatars, grown bodies mixed with human DNA and native... Unlike Tucker getting his uncles DNA mixed in him. Drivers coming out and we see Grace Augustine, the woman who wrote the book on Na'vi... She and Jake have a tense first meeting. She storms off to speak with the corporate guy, Selfridge. They argue about how to handle the indigenous tribes, and Selfridge explains they're there for unobtainium, the mineral that sells for $20m a kilo and pays for everything. Jake loads up in the driver seat, and Grace chides him about not having any training. They connect his brain to the avitar, and he comes too. Jake wants to run before he can walk, and takes off outside. He takes off running, obviously enjoying the feeling of having legs again. He speaks with Grace, and they soon go to bed, and Jake wakes back up, in his paralyzed body. We meet Trudy, the pilot, who takes him to the Col... he explains who they are alike, and how he likes his facial scars. But that having a marine in an avitar can provide intel on the Na'vi, promising to get Jakes legs back to him when he rotates home. S:-They get on Pandora really fast, and show heavy destruction-Wonder if Selfridge is named after the magnate that created Selfridges in London?-The obvious allegory to how people treat indigenous tribes is shown VERY early on.-They kinda hit you over your head with the not so subtle good vs bad, dynamic.-Think they get to choose how big their avatar dicks are? The team is dropped in the jungle and they move, seeing the large environment and some native species. As Norm and Grace take a sample, Jake wanders off, and spooks a very large animal. Grace tells him to hold his ground, and as he threatens it away, he's snuck up on another large creature, that he does have to run from. Much like Chris's girlfriends that end up left at gas stations or Trey when he finds a missing digit. He eventually ends up jumping off a cliff into a river to escape. On his own, Jake whittles a pointy stick for defense, as a Na'ni watches him, she trains an arrow on him and as she's about to shoot, a fluttering critter lands on the arrow, and she stops, letting him go. The others search for him, but have to call it off as they don't run night ops. As Jake lights a torch, many animals are after him. He is surrounded, and tries to keep them away with the torch; so he taunts them, and they attack. He beats and stabs a few, when the Na'vi that had watched him jumps in to help, defeating the beasts, but showing mercy to an injured one. Jake then marvels at the glow of the forest/jungle. He tries to thank her, and she informs him its sad they had to die. As they argue running through the forest, the floating creatures come back and land all over Jake, and she takes him with her. Shortly he is attacked by more Na'vi, who take him to their home. They talk about whether or not to kill him, and they judge him, Neytiri's father and mother. They determine since he is a "warrior," to teach him their ways and see what happens. After an awkward dinner, he settles into a cocoon, and he awakes back in the base. The scientists marvel at his luck, the army and corporate guys want to exploit his new position. Back in the village, he gets on a large animal, and bonds with it, and promptly falls off. He gives more intel on the home tree structure, but he is observed, and they relocated to the floating mountains of Pandora. They get set up and Jake goes back. High in the tree, Neytiri calls a large flying creature to her, and explains how to choose one, and that it chooses you. She takes off and shows how to fly. A montage of him learning, voice over, what he's learning. Grace even putting Jake to bed. The attraction between Neytiri and Jake shows; esp when he makes a clean kill. They go to the floating mountains to ride a flying creature or banshee. He begins his trial. S:-I noticed Norms avatar has a hat with braile, i looked it up and it stands for "Year 1969" or the year of the moon landing.-I don't remeber the half naked natives from National Geographic looking that good-I wonder what the actual physics is behind the floating rocks?-Also, Grace smoking... no way that's still a thing that far into the future. I can see vaping still going, but not actual smoking.-If anyone has played the new Jedi falling order game, this whole sequence is also in that game. AFter passing behind the waterfall, there are many banshees, and he is told to pick his ikran, asking how he'll know if it chooses him, Neytiri tells him it'll try and kill him... He picks one, they fight, and eventually, bond. They take off and finally, level out smoothly. They finally get harnessed and have some proper flights, even going by the Tree of Souls. Eventually the alpha ikran attacks, chasing them, bu they escape. Jake learns only 5 people have ever ridden the alpha. In a voice over he talk about out there being the real world. The Col tells Jake he's got the Na'vi by the balls with the tree of souls, and that he can go back adn get his legs. He wants to stay for the ceremony and negotiate the relocation. He is accepted as one of the Na'vi in the ceremony. Neytiri takes Jake to the tree of voices and he can hear them. She tells him he can pick a woman, and he chooses her. He wakes up thinking, "what the hell are you doing Jake"? The next morning, the trees start to fall around them, but Jake isn't in his body. He's finally jacked in and stops one of them, but they level everything. The Col sees it's Jake and wants a pilot, as the Na'vi pull together a warrior party. As Jake fights to stop the party, Col arrives where Jakes body is, as he's trying to talk them down, the Col pulls Jake and Grace out. He takes them back to the base and they argue about what they are about to destroy. Grace explains about the connective tissue amongst the trees, but Selfridge doesn't listen. Col shows Grace one of Jakes transmissions about the Na'vi, saying there is nothing they have the Na'vi want. The Col convinces Selfridge to assault the tree. Jake and Grace also convince Selfridge to let them go in and try to convince the Na'vim to leave. Jake tells them he was sent to learn and tell them what was coming, and it instead hardens their resolve, like Trey assaulting a child, hard like steel. The Col arrives and starts with gas rounds. As the others evacuate, they fire arrows, and the Col returns with incendiaries. The Na'vi flee, leaving Jake and Grace tied up. Neytiris mom frees them, as the helos fire missiles, Trudy decides to pull out, unlike myself. The volley stops, as the base of the tree begins to collapse. The Na'vi run, trying to escape, and the tree comes down. They observe the damage, and wail. The Col pulls out, mission accomplished... as Neytiri finds her father fallen, dying. She takes his bow, to protect their people, and she mourns. Selfridge pulls the plug on Jake and Grace and take them. n le S:-As Trey says, everyone wants to fuck an alien, Jake did. The Na'vi walk away, nursing the injured. Norm, Jake and Grace are in the brig, when Trudy rescues them. As she starts the bird, the Col realizes and opens fire on them, and Grace is hit. They pick up the mobile unit to hide it at the tree of souls. The Na'vi have gathered and Jake is going to try to get to them. His avatar wakes up in the aftermath of the destruction; though he was worried about facing them. Jake takes flight on his ikran, and then jumps on the alpha ikran to bond with it. He arrives at the soul tree to everyones surprise. Neytiri apologizes and he addresses the lead warrior, Tsu'tey, and they agree to fly together and help Grace. They bring Grace and her avatar to the tree of souls, but it is up to the great mother to transfer her to her avatar. The Na'vi pray to save her, Grace wakes up and tells them she's with her, and she is real, and dies. Jake makes a speech to rally all the other clans together and take on the corporation, and they scatter and gather them all up. Back at the base, the Col briefs everyone about an attack. He plans on destroying the soul tree with a preemptive attack. Jake works on a plan with Norm and Trudy to stop the attack. The second attack begins. Airships move in, as do ground troops, for some reason. The horse riders, with Norm, ride straight in, as do Jake and the arial assault. The battle rages, as men and Na'vi fall to bullets, arrows, and missiles. Col ID's jake and goes after him, when Trudy shows up and distracts them. Neytiri, trying to escape, her ikran is killed. Tsu'tey boards a ship, and is shot, and falls, Trudy is killed, there is destruction everywhere. They are reeling. As they start their bomb run, Neytiri is surrounded. As she is about to take a shot, a stampede of large creatures storm through, and kill the troops, at the same time, many ikran attack with no riders. Jake boards the bomb ship, as they are dropping the bomb, he disables an engine, sending it crashing, and the bomb blows up on impact. As Jake attempts to bomb the Col ship, he's stopped, but manages to throw a missile into an engine, sending it crashing, but the Col suits up in a mech and escapes. He stalks through the forest and finds the mobile site with Jakes body, Neytiri attacks, but is stopped. Jake arrives and they fight, eventually making the Col open the mech pod. He breaks the glass to the mobile unit, causing Jake to start to wake up, which allows the Col to catch him. As he's about to stab jake, Neytiri shoots him with two arrows, and he falls. Human jake falls out of his pod and can't reach the oxygen mask, almost dying, Neytiri saves him. The troops and corporates were watched as they left, and the alpha ikran is let go, and Jake makes one last video diary. The Na'vi are shown praying again, trying to transfer jake to his avatar, a deep close up and his eyes open, cut to black and credits.  S:-During the rescue, it's surprising there are no guards walking around, and only one person guarding them. re-The tree of souls surrounding looks like Halo rings from the new game-All the Na'vi got tinny titties-Why are they sending ground troops for this, what should be an air assault?-I like that Trudy is Rogue 1     Top Five Trivia of the movie: 5: Cameron started writing Avatar all the way back in 1994, but waited for the technology to catch up.4: the initial image for the Na'vi came from his mother's dream, where she envisioned a twelve-foot-tall blue woman, which was "kind of a cool image"3: Linguist Paul Frommer Created A Thousand Words In Na'vi from scratch2: James Cameron seeing lord of the rings, and gollum specifically led him to know the technology had come far enough to make Avatar1: there was so much CGI, obviously, but even Dr. Graces cigarette was animated.
