Boyertown High School students Abby Giannini and Tyler Yuengel have been on a mission since August 2025 to bring greater awareness and support for individuals on the autism spectrum as their senior project. They've held fundraisers—a bake sale, T shirt sales, a 5K race—over several months. The couple first met in their classes to enter the medical field in some capacity, recognized the need experiencing challenges of a family member, and found a venue—the So Much to Give Inclusive Café, a nonprofit that employs the neurodiverse--that inspired them and to which they could focus their fundraising efforts. These young leaders inspire! #somuchtogiveinclusivecafe #autismawareness #boyertownproud #inclusionmattersabrianag102@yahoo.com
Earlier this year students from Coláiste Bríde in Carnew launched the powerful 'Take a Stand, Change the Band' campaign, challenging the Junior Cycle grading system. Last episode we spoke with a MDS and Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University about integrative medicine. This episode is a great follow up to the previous one. This time it is student at the University of Cincinnati leading the charge to bring an integrated approach to Parkinson's care. She formed a not-for profit organization called Parkinson's Together. It brings students from multiple disciplines to help with patient care. That may include law students, engineers, finance but mainly students interested in the medical field and with interest in helping others. I had a delightful conversation with Mallika Desai about her efforts. She is a very dedicated, inspiring, smart young woman determined to make a difference in the quality of life for people with Parkinson's disease. We need more like her and her colleagues in our world. Enjpy the discussion. https://parkinsonstogether.us/ https://www.dbsandme.com/en.html

The seminar series ranges across the traditional theological disciplines (scriptural, historical, philosophical, systematic, liturgical, ethical and practical/pastoral), Catholic social thought and practice, and social-scientific approaches to Catholicism.
The 19th and 20th century is a time when the church, particularly in the West, experienced deep missionary fervor to get the Gospel to the nations. What was happening in the culture for this kind of passion to spark missionaries such as William Carey, Adoniram Judson, and Samuel Zwemer? With us to talk about this is Dr. Ed Smither, Professor and Dean of the College of Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University. Questions addressed in this episode: -What role did colonialism play in the Modern Missions Movement? -Can you talk about how the Great Awakenings influenced the Modern Missions Movement? -Any thoughts on the role of “students” in the Modern Missions Movement? We talk a lot about power imbalance and how it can affect a relationship. It’s when two people are associated with each other, but one of them has a lot more control and power over the dynamic than the other person. This can be a celebrity and a fan, a law enforcement officer and a citizen, an adult and a child, or even a teacher and a student. The story we’re going to discuss today shows us how dangerous the power imbalance between teacher and student can be, if the teacher has bad intentions.
