Buddy Thayer founded Ocean State Paranormal on October 15, 2012 but he had investigated with a now defunct group. However, he did have the benefit of learning from a former member of TAPS. He was not a cast member but had the traveled with the team to Tombstone and worked on the sidelines but learned from Grant and Jason. He was Buddy's teacher and gave him some of what he needed to start Ocean State Paranormal. Another part of Buddy founding his own paranormal group was a sense that he knew how to occur when in the presence of a spirit. Not that he is saying that he is an empath or a sensitive or medium, it's a very specific physical sensation, it starts as tingles moving from his head to shoulders to abdomen, hairs stand up, he feels suddenly like he's on stage, like he is being watched and even at times have felt urges to leave immediately or even to cry. These symptoms began when he was a young child but he did not understand nor have any further ghostly experiences that he can remember until later on in life. His father was also a fan of history and took Buddy across the eastern half of the US to many historical sites including Monticello to name one of many, he would have these sensations. The final parts of Buddy founding OSP is that he earned a Bachelor's Degree in History at Rhode Island College, however since then he has worked in Human Services and Mental Health. So the research Buddy does prior to any case allows him to use the education he received at RIC. Also in working for years professionally helping people, a paranormal group, whose soul purposes are to provide answers and realistic solutions (FREE) and so they can help to educate others and advance the science. That is OSP. His professional career involves working with people who suffer from mental illness in a hospital setting. As this is another area of his expertise, he is also a member of the Dominion Ministry as their Mental Health Specialist. The search for answers sometimes lies inside someone's mind and isn't always unexplained. Being a native Rhode Islander Buddy is dedicated to local history and it's preservation as well. He volunteers at the Major General Nathanael Greene Homestead in Coventry, RI and with the Blackstone Valley Historical Society in repairing historic cemeteries in northern RI/nearby MA.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.

Rhode Island voters recently approved $73 million in borrowing to enhance the Institute for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies at Rhode Island College. The 60% vote in favor of Question 2 underscores public confidence in the idea that education can help improve the local economy. Voters also approved $87 million for a life sciences center at URI. At Rhode Island College, the man leading the charge is Jack Warner. He is being inaugurated today as RIC's permanent president after more than two years as interim leader. Warner takes on the role at a time when many Americans wrestle with college-related debt. And with the Trump administration vowing to eliminate the federal Department of Education, Republicans and some other critics believe colleges in America have moved too far to the left. How will these issues affect Rhode Island? Can Rhode Island College really play a bigger role in the state's economy? And what is Jack Warner's strategic vision for RIC? This week on Political Roundtable, I'm going in-depth with president of Rhode Island College Jack Warner.

Some of Europe's finest explorers dedicated their lives to its discovery - braving uncharted waters, and freezing temperatures. But who were the men who gave up everything to find the passage? Why did its discovery remain so vital for so long? And who was the explorer to finally claim the discovery after centuries of futile searching? This is a Short History Of….The Northwest Passage. Invoking the contentious “qualified immunity” doctrine, state courts in Rhode Island prevented Rhode Island College officials from facing civil liability for violating a student's First Amendment rights to free speech and expression. NCLA has petitioned the Supreme Court for a writ of certiorari in William Felkner v. John Nazarian, asking the Justices to reexamine the doctrine and abolish the ahistorical standard for “qualified immunity” that requires violations of the law to be “clearly established” via prior court precedents before officials can be held to account. NCLA Senior Litigation Peggy Little joins Mark to discuss Felkner v. Nazarian and the reply brief filed in the case last week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The latest edition of the Providence Journal's college basketball podcast is here. This is Bill Koch, sports writer for the Journal. I'm joined as always by Nick Coit, sports director at ABC6 and the weekend co-host of Cordischi and Coit on WEEI Providence. Lots of ground to cover entering this holiday week. Bryant's men made history with a win at No. 10 Florida Atlantic, the first over a ranked opponent in program history (5:00). The Bulldogs followed up with a Monday win over Howard. Providence's men enjoyed a 2-1 stretch against three power conference opponents (14:55). The Friars split two games in the Bahamas, falling to Kansas State and rebounding to beat Georgia. The University of Rhode Island men were swept in two games at Mohegan Sun (24:00). The Rams stepped up in class against Northwestern and Washington State, falling twice in front of a good portion of traveling fans. Brown's men built some confidence against Rhode Island College and played USC to the wire on the road (34:00). The Bears showed what they have the potential to be over 40 minutes on court with the Trojans. URI's women won at Brown before coming up just shy on the road against North Carolina State (43:00). The Rams looked like a different team than the one that lost at Maine. Brown's women are headed on a road trip after falling at home to URI (51:15). The Bears split games with the Rams and Providence at home last week. Bryant's women sit at 3-1 entering three straight games away from home (55:15). The Bulldogs outlasted Central Connecticut State and will play at Merrimack and at Florida International. Providence's women have dropped two straight after winning their first two games of the season (60:10). The Friars were clipped by Brown before falling at home to Boston College over the weekend. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Hope it's a day filled with family, great food and a side of college basketball. Thanks as always for listening.
Welcome to the latest edition of the Providence Journal College Basketball Podcast. This is Bill Koch, sports writer for the Journal. I'm joined by Nick Coit, the sports director at ABC6 and weekend co-host of Cordischi and Coit on WEEI Providence. Full week of topics in this one. We start with a coaching change -- Jared Grasso formally tendered his resignation with the Bryant men (2:50). The Bulldogs promoted Phil Martelli Jr. from acting head coach and signed him to a long-term contract (11:55). Brown's men are winless no more after taking care of Rhode Island College (22:20). The Bears lifted their spirits ahead of a weekend trip to USC. Providence's men are in the Bahamas and ready for a Friday night test against Kansas State (30:10). The Friars will face either Miami or Georgia in their second game of that event, and they're coming off an impressive home win against Wisconsin. The University of Rhode Island men will spend the weekend at Mohegan Sun (41:10). The Rams take on Northwestern and either Mississippi State or Washington State. They're 3-0 after another comfortable victory against Wagner. Brown and URI square off in the women's ranks on Friday night (51:40). The Bears host the Rams at Pizzitola Center, and each program is in a different mood. Brown has won two straight against Big East opponents -- including Providence on Wednesday -- while URI struggled in a surprising road loss at Maine. Bryant's women are home Friday night before hitting the road next week (62:10). The Bulldogs host Central Connecticut State sitting at 2-1, including an easy win at Stonehill. Thanks as always for listening.
Welcome back, folks. It's time for college basketball. This is Bill Koch, sports writer with the Providence Journal. I'm joined by Nick Coit, the sports director at ABC6 and a weekend co-host of Cordischi and Coit on WEEI-Providence. It's great to be back with you after a long summer away. This is the second of three parts -- our women's preview in Rhode Island. We hit the four Division I teams here and follow with one more podcast this week -- our bold (or not so bold) predictions. Our men's preview went online Wednesday afternoon. The University of Rhode Island women (1:20) are favorites to repeat as Atlantic 10 champions and reach the NCAA Tournament. Brown (14:40) looks to continue its climb in the Ivy League after making progress in 2022-23. Providence (22:25) has a new coach in Erin Batth and looks to surprise in a tough Big East. Bryant (32:25) brings back an alum on the sidelines in Lynne-Ann Kokoski, who replaces retired Hall of Famer Mary Burke. And a bonus, thanks to Coit -- a nod to Rhode Island College (42:30) and hopes they can capture the same magic that led to a Division III Final Four run last season. We'll be in this space at least once a week until the nets are cut down in early April. Looking forward to the journey with all of you.
Last year, The Guardian did a five-month investigation into “carbon bombs,” or fossil fuel projects that would, over the course of their life, emit over one billion tons of carbon. They found that there are 195 planned oil and gas carbon bombs around the world, and if they proceed as planned, these projects alone would blow past internationally agreed upon climate targets. For our thirteenth deep dive on carbon bombs, we take a look at the North Dome Gas Field: the world's largest gas field located in northern Qatar, singlehandedly home to eleven carbon bomb projects that collectively could emit over 41 billion tons of carbon dioxide. But North Dome has a unique history, transforming Qatar from a largely impoverished nation to one with one of the highest GDPs per capita, rapidly blossoming education and tourism, and the home of global sporting competitions like 2022's FIFA World Cup. Despite these exciting developments, the North Dome Gas Field does present challenges from an environmental, human rights, geopolitical, and even economic perspective. This week, we cover the issues facing the North Dome Gas Field, why Qatar has incentive to transition away from natural gas exports and diversify their economy, and what a sustainable and feasible path forward could look like. This week I am talking to Paola Harris about her book 'Connecting the Dots: Making Sense of the UFO Phenomena'.Paola Harris had never seen a UFO or remembered any strange occurrences in her childhood, however, when she viewed Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1978, it triggered an emotional response. Her intellectual curiosity was piqued and a new mission was forged. While teaching science fiction in a Colorado high school, she became even more fascinated with the mystery of UFO phenomena. She made a list of ten people she would like to meet and began to notice the serendipitous events that happened to bring these people to her for interviews. Now, over 35 years later, she has become an internationally renowned journalist who has met many researchers and experiencers of the UFO phenomena. In Connecting the Dots, she includes informative personal interviews with the world's most authoritative searchers for extraterrestrial intelligence. You will learn about Col. Philip Corso's encounter with ETs, hear from NASA about the objects that observe the space shuttle, and see how the Vatican is preparing us for ET contact. Connecting the Dots demonstrates that everything in the universe is interconnected and that “we are not now, nor have we ever been alone” in the cosmos.BioPaola Leopizzi Harris was born in Rome in a family of Italian diplomats. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English and French from Rhode Island College (1967) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado (1980). Her Master's Degree in Education is from Leslie College in Boston, Massachusetts (1992). She served as the Principal for The American Overseas School of Rome in 1994 -1995 and taught Ancient History, photo journalism and English there until she returned to the United States in 2007 to pursue her interests in investigative reporting in the field of unidentified phenomena research. As a widely published, free-lance writer with a strong audience in Europe, Paola has studied unidentified aerial phenomena since 1979 and is on personal terms with leading researchers in the field. From 1980-1986 Dr. J. Allen Hynek entrusted her with his UFO investigations outside the United States. She has published interviews of many military witnesses concerning their experiences. In particular, in 1997, Ms. Harris interviewed Colonel Philip Corso in New Mexico and became his editor and confidante. She was instrumental in having his book, The Day After Roswell, for which she wrote the preface, translated into Italian. She also wrote the Italian Preface for Apollo14 Astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell's book The Way of the Explorer. Paola returned to New Mexico in the summer of 2003 for the American debut of her book: Connecting the Dots; Making Sense of the UFO Phenomena (Authorhouse). Her second book, entitled: Exopolitics—All of the Above details possible conclusions to the UFO enigma. One of Paola's most recently published book: Exopolitics--Stargate to a New Reality, contains 23 interviews with international expert witnesses. She just wrote a bestseller with Jacques Vallee on the 1945 San Antonio crash named Trinity. It has been translated into Italian and Spanish. Other books by Ms. Harris have been translated into Japanese, Spanish and French, while her interview of Canadian former minister of defense Paul Hellyer has been translated into six languages and is available as a Google video. Paola has lectured all through Europe about the importance of making Ufology a serious scientific study. Her non-profit association, Starworksusa, LLC, brings American speakers to Italy and promotes disclosure and international dialogue. Today, Paola lives between Rome and Longmont, Colorado. Her current research focus is on events in Latin America. Her research trips to Columbia, Argentina, Chile and Peru are included in her regular column for X-Times Magazine in Rome.Amazon link http://rb.gy/tj86xhttps://starworksusa.comhttps://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/alienufopodcast

80 minutes. 2 games. That's now all that leaves 8 programs from being crowned national champions - and there will be new champions in both men's and women's basketball. For the first time in seven years, two programs from the same school are in the final fours. For the first time since 2009, no teams on the women's side return to the semifinals. The men feature a rematch of a 2019 semifinal battle. For the second year in a row, a single-sex institution has a program in the final four. There are four first-time programs playing in the semifinals. One program isn't receiving a single vote in the Top 25 while another is unranked but receiving votes. And only one of two undefeated teams can go undefeated for the season. All interesting facts and tidbits among the all the programs that will be featured on Thursday's Hoopsville. Welcome to Episode 116 of The Podcast About Division III Baseball. It's time for the second of two New England preview pods, this one covering Region 2. Preview finale! In order: CCC (at 1:00) Endicott might be the most (re-)loaded team in the region if not the country and is primed for a World Series run Salve Regina looks more impressive on offense than on the mound for the first time in a while but they should still be balanced enough to challenge the Gulls Roger Williams may have missed their window with a ton of talent graduating but we still expect them to be good Suffolk has one of the more fascinating players in the entire region LEC (at 13:40) THE CHAMPS Eastern Connecticut are coming off one of the more remarkable D-III seasons ever and will have to perform the encore with a new head coach and practically entirely new pitching staff Rhode Island College has an impressive offense mostly intact but has some important innings to replace UMass-Boston is looking ready to return to the postseason for the first time in a weirdly long time for them (4 years lol) Southern Maine has the talent to bounce back from a rare season missing the regionals MASCAC (at 31:50) Bridgewater State came outta nowhere with one of the best starting rotations in D-III and the cool thing is all those arms are back Westfield State can always be counted on to be in the mix atop this conference NECC (at 37:30) Mitchell is good but it is very goofy that this 4-team conference still has an AQ *sigh* UAA (at 42:10) Brandeis has built their program up to respectability but has a lot of offense graduating We conclude (at 43:00) with our player and pitcher of the year picks, and our teams to beat. The original investigator of the Conjuring House and scholar of the arcane, Carl Johnson, returns with his paranormal partner in crime, Elise Carlson! Carl L. Johnson has been investigating reports of strange phenomena for the past 50 years, dating to his association with noted ghost-hunting couple, Ed and Lorraine Warren. As members of Parapsychological Investigatory and Research Organization: R.I.R.O., a research team based at Rhode Island College in Providence, Carl and his identical twin brother Keith were called in to investigate the Perron family's situation in Harrisville, Rhode Island during August and September of 1973. P.I.R.O. notified the Warrens of the Perrons' situation. Forty years later, this inspired a motion picture titled, The Conjuring. In April, 1972, Carl and his brother Keith attended a lecture presented in Rhode Island College, the featured speakers being Ed and Lorraine Warren. That evening, Carl was invited to join P.I.R.O., the on-campus paranormal studies group. Both Carl L. and Keith E. Johnson were featured on the first two seasons of the popular television series, Ghost Hunters, leaving the show after those two years to better pursue their own interests. Carl has numerous other television credits, including Paranormal State on A&E Network, The Haunted on Animal Planet, Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet, A Haunting on Destination America , The Learning Channel and Travel Channel, The Exorcism Prayer: independent documentary by Ryan Cavalline (2016), Walking With Shadows: independent documentary by Mike Ricksecker (2021), Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel, Mysteries Decoded on Travel Channel, and Fright Club on Travel Channel. A recent episode of A Haunting: "Inner Demons" featuring Carl and research partner, Elise Giammarco Carlson, is rated the top episode of all 11 seasons. The Johnson family's home in rural North Scituate, RI was subject to inexplicable happenings, that is to say, haunted! This sparked Carl's profound interest in things considered supernatural. He would participate in spirit board sessions, partnering with his younger sister Cynthia as they experimented in communicating with personalities from the "other side." Specializing as a Demonologist and C'thonicist, the latter indicating one who studies classical, "nether" deities, Carl continues his exploration of the preternatural through the research unit, Panorama Paranormal co-founded with historian Elise Giammarco Carlson. Carl defines demonology as, "A systemized study of the lore and cultural traditions of wicked spirits." He incorporates that system into both academic, and applied demonology. Carl was employed by Old Slater Mill Association for 14 years as Interpreter staff and Programs Development. Built in 1793 Slater Mill is regarded as the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. The site is rich with history and, it is said, haunting! He is co-author, along with accredited theologian Lana Jan Brock, of, "Shadow Realms Demonology Handbook". Carl is also recognized for his theoretical writing, wherein he expounds on quantum-based hypotheses.

Imagine being at a school where 80% of the students look like you…but you're the only one like you who is in the honors and advanced classes. That's where this week's guest, Carlon Howard, found himself as he readied to graduate from high school. And that experience put him on the pathway that landed him as a leader and impact-maker in educational equity. Carlon has a passion for supporting individuals who feel stuck in cultural narratives due to a lack of equity, inclusivity, and diversity in leadership. And his organization, Equity Institute, is taking what they've created and teaching organizations how to develop these initiatives in their own communities. In this episode, Carlon and I talk about doing the work in the messy gray space, why teacher pathway programs are so valuable, why schools need support outside the traditional education space, and how he built Equity Institute organically from a place of connection and decompressing. I love Carlon's philosophy of teaching others to do the work, rather than assuming his organization knows the answers for every situation. We need more of this in leadership roles. About Carlon Howard: Carlon is the Chief Impact Officer and Co-Founder of Equity Institute. In his role, he leads organization-wide strategic and operational planning, ensuring EI's vision is realized through clear prioritization and high-impact operational execution. In addition to helping launch the Equity Institute, he also co-founded re*generation (formerly EduLeaders of Color R.I.). Now an initiative of the Equity Institute, re*generation hosts monthly meetups designed to support education leaders from underrepresented backgrounds. Before entering his current role with Equity Institute, Carlon was executive director of Breakthrough Providence, served as a City Year AmeriCorps member and Impact Manager, was a classroom teacher, and was a policy fellow for a former Colorado Senator. He graduated from the University of Georgia with undergraduate degrees in criminal justice and political science and completed his graduate degree in education from Rhode Island College. He also earned a graduate certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from the Institute of Nonprofit Practice, in affiliation with Tufts University's Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life. Additionally, he completed formal training as a leadership and performance coach. Outside of his full-time work, Carlon is an adjunct instructor at College Unbound. This week the books I am reading from are 'TRINITY The Best-Kept Secret: NEW Expanded Edition' by Paola Harris & Jacques Vallée and 'Med School after Menopause: The Journey of my Soul' by Dr. Lotte ValentinPaola Harris & Jacques ValléeSECOND EDITIONBreakthrough Research Reveals the Earliest Evidence of US Government's UFO Recovery. Hard evidence has existed since 1945 for the actual recovery of unidentified flying craft in the United States, according to this research book, "TRINITY: The Best-Kept Secret" written by two seasoned analysts of the global patterns behind the UFO phenomenon. This is the second edition of this book which includes an additional witness' story. Italian investigative journalist Paola Leopizzi Harris and French-born information scientist Dr. Jacques F. Vallée have teamed up to uncover the details of a New Mexico crash in 1945, fully two years before the well-known incident at Roswell and the famous sighting by pilot Kenneth Arnold in 1947. Over several site investigation surveys Harris and Vallée reconstructed the historic observations by five witnesses, three of whom are still living, who described to them the circumstances of the crash, with details of the recovery of a nearly-intact flying vehicle and its occupants by an Army detachment. Combining their long experience in field research around the world, the authors have documented the step-by-step efforts by the military to remove the object, an avocado-shaped craft weighing several tons, from the property where it crash-landed during a storm.Surprisingly, the literature of the field only includes a few passing mentions about the case, and only one (foreign) TV documentary has mentioned it, but the correlation between the crash of the extraordinary object and the explosion of the first atom bomb at White Sands, less than 20 miles away, has been missed. Harris and Vallée suggest that the correlation is significant for physical, geographic and biological reasons, quite apart from the obvious strategic implications. The witnesses were able to observe not only the actual crash of the object on their property but every step of the military efforts to lift it and take it away. Fearing retaliation, they remained silent for some 60 years about what they had seen and done over those nine days at the site while the recovery was proceeding. When placed in the context of the history of chemical and physical analysis of retrieved UFO debris--an area where Harris and Vallée have long collaborated—the devices observed by the witnesses raise a number of very important scientific questions.BioPaola Leopizzi Harris was born in Rome in a family of Italian diplomats. Her research trips to Columbia, Argentina, Chile and Peru are included in her regular column for X-Times Magazine in Rome.https://www.amazon.com/TRINITY-Best-Kept-Jacques-F-Vall%C3%A9e-ebook/dp/B0B8DXY8TC/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1665736918&sr=8-1https://starworksusa.comDr. Lotte ValentinAn inspirational story about transformation, healing, and spirituality.
