We all have a worldview - a way in which we see the world and interpret our circumstances. Throughout the Bible, God has given us His worldview and therefore how we should see the world and interpret our circumstances. This Biblical worldview should determine, then, how we understand the Gospel and therefore how we see ourselves and others.
This podcast will aid Christians in practicing the Heavenly Father's instructions to “Be still and know" that He is God. (Psalm 46:10) by helping God's children to rest their hearts and minds in the very real beauty and blessings of God. This Biblical form of guided meditation offers help when negative thoughts are keeping you from falling asleep, or if, during your waking hours, you are finding your mind in distress and troubled over circumstances you've already laid down in prayer before the throne of God. Cindy offers in this podcast a "reality check" by naming, one by one, some lovely realities God has gifted us that when recalled, can help us align our hearts, minds, and spirits with Jesus' instructions to "let not our hearts be troubled" (John 14:1) Similar to her popular podcast, “Counting Sheep: A Podcast About Nature to Help Quiet Your Mind Before Sleep”. This podcast is intended to be one you could easily fall asleep to. Alternatively, she invites daytime listeners to close their eyes and with great detail, visualize in their mind's eye being at the foot of our merciful Heavenly Father's glorious throne --- that eternal place that is even more real than this temporary planet we are inhabiting only for a little while. To help you set your mind on things above, the first 15 minutes or so of this podcast is composed of some practical information, followed by the simple reading of some Bible verses that Christians often find the most comforting since God's truths are the only real foundation for genuine peace. In the middle portion of the podcast, Cindy transitions to listing some of the pristine qualities within the character of our God mentioned in scripture that are at the root of His perfection and thus His ability to care for those who love Him. And finally, the remainder of the podcast is a series of positive, uplifting assurances, in which faithful believers can rest their hearts and find much comfort.
“Submission” is a troublesome word. It stirs up fear, anger, and for many, traumatic memories. This Biblical concept has been distorted by sin throughout the ages. So, what does this word mean without all of the distortion? Let's talk about it.

Unity among the brethren is a precious thing in the eyes of the Lord. This Biblical study in Psalm 133 and Ephesians 4 shows the Biblical path for true unity.
Jesus is the best at interrupting funerals. This Biblical story proves that! Not to mention, He calls a city back into its identity through one significant encounter. Later Pastor Josiah shares on John the Baptist's difficult moment of belief in what he knows to be true. Jesus is indeed the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world, but when he's been sitting in a jail cell for quite some time, the truth of that belief is being to sway. Still, Jesus encourages His cousin and testifies of the validity of His ministry through all the incredible fruit happening everywhere He went. Jesus' ministry increasing, as John the Baptists ministry of preparation was decreasing.
The Unchanging Word broadcast continues our study in the book of 1st Thessalonians. We are in chapter 4 verses 13 thru 18. In this section of scripture the Apostle Paul addresses the need for these Thessalonians to not grieve as do unbelievers who have no hope for those who have died. So, Paul gives them the divine revelation that the Lord Jesus gave him concerning the rapture. This Biblical revelation gives the believer a divine comfort, a certain hope, a blessed assurance. It is good to have a solid hope and and a current comfort concerning our loved ones who know the Lord but have died. And, we too have this assurance, we who know the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Do you have this confidence and assurance and hope for yourself? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you too will be saved! Here is Dr. Mitchell, 1Thess. 4:13. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unchanging-word/message
In this episode of the SLU Podcast titled "From a Piggly Wiggly Leader to a Confident One | Ep. 192" hosts Jeff Wallace and Brent Crowe delve into the concept of what they term "the higgledy piggledy leader." They open with a nostalgic conversation about their childhood experiences at Piggly Wiggly in Atlanta, setting a personal and relatable tone for the episode. The main discussion centers on the characteristics of a leader who is underconfident and disorganized, drawing comparisons to Einstein's famously messy office. However, they clarify that unlike Einstein, who was a rare genius, most people cannot afford to allow disorganization in leadership. They label this leadership style as sporadic in decision-making and lacking clear direction. The hosts also intertwine spiritual themes throughout the episode, utilizing 1 Peter 2:9 to highlight the importance of understanding one's identity as a "chosen" individual to lead effectively. This Biblical perspective frames the discussion on leadership with an emphasis on being set apart and living a life that reflects the gospel. They discuss the need for leaders to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and to lead with a clear and structured vision, inspired by principles like those found in Jordan Peterson's "12 Rules for Life." The episode concludes with a broader life lesson about the importance of living a holy and purposeful life as a reflection of one's divine choice and identity, urging listeners to "wander well and shine like stars." The dialogue resonates with both practical leadership advice and spiritual encouragement, making it a holistic talk on overcoming underconfidence and disorganization in leadership.

In Genesis chapter 20 we read about Abraham lying to Avimelech regarding Sarah. Then in chapter 21 Avimelech comes back to Abraham, this time with the commander of his army to call Abraham out for his sin and to get an assurance from Abraham that he will not do it again. After Abraham is humbled and promises not to do it again, Abraham uses this opportunity to call out a wrong that he feels Avimelech has done to him. Then the two of them go about making peace together through a covenant ceremony. Preparing for Yom Kippur: During the Ten Days of Awe between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur we are reminded to make our records clean and right with God. This episode offers you a chance to dive into the Book of Nehemiah, uncovering the financial tribulations the Israelites faced while rebuilding the wall, and how Nehemiah navigated through the challenges the people were facing. We take you back in time to discuss the effects of famine, King's taxes, and the desperate measures that the people had to resort to, including selling their children into slavery. This Biblical exploration reveals a perspective on borrowing money just to survive, which is far removed from our modern understanding. We zero in on Nehemiah's leadership style, a beacon of moral accountability, and ethical stewardship. As we dissect Nehemiah's confrontation with Jerusalem's wealthy and his relentless efforts to rectify the injustices they had committed, we identify lessons for Christians today. Nehemiah's ethical leadership is a timeless lesson on standing up against misuse of power and fostering a fair society. So, let's journey together, unearthing the Biblical leadership lessons and their implications on present-day financial and ethical considerations.Support the show

We begin to discuss the IMMINENT and COMPLETE Destruction of the World's Oldest City, Damascus Syria as Prophesied in Isaiah Chapter 17 Verse 1. The burden against Damascus. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap. The Questions we must then ask being, When will it be destroyed? How? and By Who? Is Israel the Nation to destroy the City? Or perhaps will they simply be blamed for it? This Biblical discussion can not be limited to a single News Show. Jesus IS God! Do you believe it? This Biblical message contains undeniable Truth that Jesus knows ALL things!
With another verse-by-verse teaching, this time through part of Romans 8, this sermon focuses on the importance of what we allow our minds to dwell upon in learning to walk in holiness. To quote the late Zig Ziglar, "It's really true that you are what you are and where you are because of what's gone into your mind, and can change what you are where you are by changing what goes into your mind." This Biblical principle if one of the most important for those who wish to master overcoming besetting sins.
In this sermon, we looked at the calling for every believer to live out the ministry of reconciliation in our everyday lives. In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul calls the Church to be moved by the love of Jesus to give away to others what we have received from Him. Through the Gospel, Jesus first reconciled us to Himself, then to one another. This Biblical concept of reconciliation means to be completely restored to a place of favor. In Christ, we go from being enemies of God to receiving God’s undeserved favor. When we are in Christ, we also go from being enemies with one another to spiritual siblings who live in the undeserved favor of one another. As believers, we have experienced the reconciliation that comes from the love of Jesus and are now called to be ambassadors for Him and live out this reconciliation with those in the world around us.

A bit confusing?Picture a family, Dad and a mom and a child, all three parts of the same family yet three distinct, and separate people. The analogy breaks down, but helps us understand the picture. So we have a beautiful new home with waters and land, and shrubbery, birds, animals, stars, sun moon, and humans. The humans are the crown of God's creation. Again, He made them in His Image. He made them with a body, soul, and a spirit and wanted to to be their God and spend eternity with them. Here is where I turn to the user manual to explain what the warranty entails. Christians are often called to “live in the world but not of it.” This Biblical charge is easy to remember but hard to understand. The Bible teaches us to live in the culture of our cities, but at the same time to not conform to it (1 John 2:15, Romans 12:2). This tension creates a clash that leads to three common reactions from Christians: cancel culture, confront culture, or compromise to the culture. This series will look at each of these reactions and discuss how citizens of the kingdom should respond to cultural challenges in our faith.

In today's Biblical devotional for Christian women, we will ponder Proverbs 3:25-26 (how to not be afraid) and its practical application in our daily lives: “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” I will share with you an example from my life of how I stay mentally strong in the midst of a global pandemic, nationwide unemployment, and an economic crisis. I will also explain why learning how to not be afraid is critical. We will review the consequences of allowing the fear of a sudden disaster and ruin to overwhelm you. At the end of my message, I'll offer you a powerful prayer. In this Biblical devotional for Christian women today, I'll help you examine your own faith journey with God. We will explore why it's so critical for us as Christian women, the disciples of Jesus, to always remember that it's the Lord who is at our side and keeps us from being trapped. “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” Proverbs 3:25-26. Fearing sudden disasters and ruin leaves you anxious, scared, mentally paralyzed, emotionally overwhelmed, physically exhausted, and unable to do God's work, incapable to fulfill His purpose for your life. That is why learning and practicing how to not be afraid is so critical. The CDC reports: “Communities have faced mental health challenges related to COVID-19–associated morbidity, mortality, and mitigation activities, including the impact of physical distancing and stay-at-home orders. The percentage of respondents who reported having seriously considered suicide in the 30 days before completing the survey (10.7%) was significantly higher among respondents aged 18–24 years (25.5%). This Biblical devotional for Christian women will be relevant and helpful to all of the listeners of my Christian podcast – The Anna Szabo Show – and all the readers of my Christian blog everywhere in the world. We all need to learn now how to not be afraid because being afraid is deadly in the midst of this ongoing global crisis. This original and authentic Biblical devotional will encourage and empower you with God's truth as we apply it practically to real-life experiences we all are going through all around the globe because we are all facing a continuous sudden disaster and have been affected by it for over a year already. I make content to help you create a joyful life by embracing God's word. My passion in life is to help encourage and empower you by sharing testimonies of God's amazing glory revealed through my life story. I personally have adjusted my life a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I myself have a history of suicidal depression, and also during the pandemic, the number of women who came to my Christian blog because of their self-harm impulses has increased significantly. I have to practice every day how to not be afraid by leaning on God. I love you. When I was depressed and suicidal during my marriage with a narcissist a few years ago, as God was working in me to keep me alive in the midst of cruel abuse, I thought of you: the Christian woman facing challenges. I thought to myself: if I ever make it out of this abusive marriage alive, I'll dedicate myself to ministry and help other Christian women. And I've been doing this since 2017 when I started my Christian podcast for women and founded Online Discipleship For Women. Subscribe to my podcast and tell other Christian women about it to help me do God's work through this women's ministry. If you'd like to support my ministry, you can donate here. There are three things you can expect from this Biblical devotional for Christian women today: You'll hear the scriptures-based devotional I prepared for you There will be an exercise for you to do in order to ponder Proverbs 3:25-26 as it relates to your own faith journey (how to not be afraid) I'll offer you a prayer to lift you up to God and ask for His peace, protection, provision, and promotion Let's get started! PART 1. BIBLICAL DEVOTIONAL FOR CHRISTIAN WOMEN “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” Proverbs 3:25-26 Many times in my life, I faced disasters. When I was little, my mother molested me and would physically torture me by spreading dry toasted triangular grain over the bare hardwood floor and forcing me to kneel for hours at a time. God protected, saved, and restored me. When I was 25, I emigrated to America to live my happily-ever-after with a real-life Prince Charming. As soon as I arrived in 2008, I was beaten and enslaved. After 8 months of domestic violence, the Dunwoody Police Department conducted a rescue operation and helped me escape on April 9th of 2009. I was homeless in a foreign country without speaking any English. I had no money and no friends. God protected, saved, and restored me. On May 14th of 2016, I married an amazing Christian man, a seminary graduate who worked at a mega-Church in Alpharetta and officiated weddings, doing marriage counseling for couples. After our wedding night, he started disappearing, admitted to cheating on me, spent all my money leaving me without food, threatened me with violence any time I tried to talk to him about our marriage, and he filed for divorce twice in our first year of marriage, costing me $25k. I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD while married to him. He dehumanized, manipulated, gaslighted, stonewalled me, and staged circumstances to make me believe that I was crazy. I became severely depressed and suicidal. After our divorce jury trial, I was left with no energy, and with massive debt. Most of my friends were gone, and I had to start my life over. God protected, saved, and restored me. Today, I live a single and celibate life with God serving Him through my ministry for Christian women to share my powerful testimony and life story to give God all the glory. I was supporting myself by doing marketing contracts when the pandemic hit early in 2020. I felt so devastated… But … “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” – Psalms 40:1-2. I was patient in faith and because of my faith, I remained productive and proactive. “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” Proverbs 3:25-26 Now, let me tell you exactly how to not be afraid. How do I stay faithful when faced with disaster and potential ruin? I pray and remain in God's word daily, and I share the fruit of this spiritual practice at AnnaSzabo.com/prayers I practice fasting from food and water at least 2-3 times a month for 24 hours to up to 5 days, and I explain it on AnnaSzabo.com/fasting I keep a gratitude journal where I ponder God's goodness and grace, and I explain my thanksgiving habits on AnnaSzabo.com/thanksgiving I don't force my emotions to build up and explode; instead, I cry whenever I want to, freely and intensely; and I explain it on AnnaSzabo.com/feelings I maintain healthy daily habits to practice meaningful self-care, and I explained it at AnnaSzabo.com/self-care I read helpful books that empower me, and my journey is shared on AnnaSzabo.com/reading-challenge I exercise every day and also stretch, which is explained in great detail at AnnaSzabo.com/fitness I eat good food that promotes brain health, such as colorful fruits, vegetables, herbs, berries, nuts, and seeds. I elaborate on this topic at AnnaSzabo.com/food I leverage introspection to witness God's good plan for my life unfolding as I look back and document what happened, literally seeing God's glory throughout my entire life story. I am careful in choosing whom I talk to and to whom I listen and whom I allow to influence me. I've had a friend say the pandemic was a hoax. I haven't talked to her in months. I had a friend call me always panicked and telling me to practically save her. Of course, I'm not Jesus. I serve Jesus. But everyone must take action to practice their faith. No human can save another human. I can share my testimony with you and ponder God's word with you, but you are responsible for you. I am not responsible for you. I limited my communication with that friend because I am responsible for né and for my own mental health and God asked me to guard my heart for everything I do flows from it. Last week's devotional was about that. “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” Proverbs 3:25-26 While the Lord is indeed by out side, God gave us free will so that we can choose to do what's fight based on our faith. The Bible says “faith without works is dead,” in other words having faith but not mobilizing and deploying it every day through actions and decisions is as if having no faith at all. One of the comments I received on my recent YouTube video about faith during trials and tribulations is from a woman who goes by K R. She explained how terrible she feels and how much she needs hope, so I prayed for her as I often do on my YouTube and blog for Christian women. The next thing I know, she transfers her responsibility for her actions and thoughts on me!!! And she goes on to reveal to me her faith in a Santa Clause God who is supposed to grant her wishes through me. Here's a part of that conversation. “Anna, thank you for your words. I am so weak… I can barely function. My brain is foggy, and I am amazed at your clarity and energy level… 20 years with an evil narcissistic husband and a lifetime with a narcissistic mother – and I can't make good decisions. Why aren't your prayers answered and I am healed of brain fog, despair, depression, and suicidal ideation? I have believed for it. What am I doing wrong? How do you make yourself function?” To which I responded: ““How” is explained in detail in the free helpful resources I shared with you. Also, tonight's video at 7:45 pm expands on the “how” of the process of healing. It is definitely an active everyday process of taking productive action in faith as I described at AnnaSzabo.com/what-is-faith” and I gave her the Bible verse that's the most applicable in tis situation – James 2:26 As you can see from this example, having faith but not practicing it while expecting a Santa Clause God to make your life easy will never get you anywhere. God gave this woman my YouTube channel full of powerful testimony to encourage and empower her. God gave this woman my Christian blog with over 100000 words of Biblical content to encourage and empower her. God kept me up at night writing a heartfelt Biblical prayer genuinely lifting this woman up to encourage and empower her. Yet, she comes back and says: “Where is God? Why is my life not rainbow-univorny yet? Why have my trials and tribulations not disappeared after your prayer, Anna? Why is your prayer not working?” And this brings me to my main point. Have faith when you're dealing with adversity, be prayerful, and have a grateful heart, not an entitled one. Practice your faith through faith-based decisions and actions every day. That's HOW you demonstrate that you “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” PART 2. PROVERBS 3:25-26 SPIRITUAL EXERCISE TO GROW YOUR FAITH I want you to think right now about YOUR journey with God and what kinds of disasters and ruin you are facing. What is it that makes you feel overwhelmed, depressed, and hopeless, derailing you from God's purpose and His purpose for your life? Once you identify what that is, let me know in the comments how you plan to courageously practice your faith through faith-based decisions and actions now. Once you share it with me, I want to hold you accountable because your next step is this: “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” Proverbs 3:25-26 Before we pray, I'd like to invite you to support my ministry by making a donation. Shop my Christian apparel collection with encouraging and empowering Biblical affirmations to help you create a joyful life by embracing God's word. Let's pray together! PART 3: “HAVE NO FEAR OF DISASTER OR RUIN” BIBLICAL PRAYER Father God, I thank you for your 3573 promises in my life, among which is this powerful promise to keep me from being overtaken by disaster and ruin. “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being trapped.” Proverbs 3:25-26 God, you gave me your promises AND my free will. You warned me that without works faith is dead. It's up to me to trust your promises. Trusting your promises is not a theory; it's a process through which is make decisions and take action. If I exercise my faith, I make decisions and take actions based on me believing your Proverbs 3:25-26 promise. It means that I'll have hope when faced with pandemics and other disasters, that I'll be productive every day knowing that the Lord is by my side, keeping me from ruin. Please help me, God, to deploy my free will and stay actively faithful every day even during trials and tribulations. Help me be focused on you and productive for you. I pray this in the marvelous name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen. Discover 5 ways on how to celebrate Purim! These exciting ways to celebrate Purim will make this feast a joyful one to remember. Purim is such a joyous and wonderful celebration. It is a festival that every generation should enjoy and celebrate every year. This Biblical feast is based on the Book of Esther. And here are 5 ways on how to celebrate Purim with your friends and family. 1. Make a plan Purim is simple to plan. I recommend marking it on your calendar now and set a reminder to start prepping a week ahead of time. 2. Pray Pray for God’s chosen people - the Jewish nation - around the world. Ask God to protect them from lies and evil plots for their destruction, which are still rampant today. 3. Gather Gather some fun noise makers. Think “New Year’s Eve” style and yes, even fireworks! Gather crowns, hats, and costumes. Get creative with things you have around the house. 4. Decorate Find your favorite fun decorations. The theme is kings, princesses, queens, royalty, victory! Again, use what’s around the house (although, of course, a bit of shopping isn’t out of the question). Get the kids involved. Ask them for ideas. Provide arts and crafts materials so they can help in the preparations and decorations. 5 Make and give gifts to friends and people in need Plan this with your kids. Ask them who they want to give gifts to and bless. If you have trouble deciding who to bless, cast lots to decide. This is how Haman chose the day of the holocaust. Purim means lots. The casting of lots. It is also known as the feast of lots. Here are 5 ways on how to celebrate Purim this year and every single year. How about you? How do you celebrate Purim? Let me know in the comments below! Learn more about these fun ways to celebrate Purim at home https://thebiblicalnutritionist.com/how-to-celebrate-purim/
We are a culture that seeks out the extraordinary, the big accomplishments in life. In today's podcast, Kelly Crawford shares the truth that the every day, small, mundane things done for the glory of God have eternal impact. We can be confident that according to God's Word our faithfulness in the little things adds up to living a big life. Christians are often encouraged to "Do something big for Jesus," but it's Jesus Himself that reminds us to be faithful in the little things, and to make it our ambition to lead a quiet life, minding our own business and working with our hands. This Biblical message is completely counter-cultural, as Biblical truths often are. “Christmas is pagan” “Christmas is anti-Jewish” “Christmas is Catholic” If you're a Messianic believer, almost certainly you've heard these claims. Are they true? The Gospels record, Today in the city of David is born a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord. And the sign to you is this: You'll find an infant wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger. And suddenly, a multitude of heavenly armies appeared with the angel, praise God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest! And shalom on earth and good will to men!” Luke 2 This Biblical event 2000 years ago changed the world forever. Today, it's celebrated by billions of Christians around the world as Christmas. But many Messianic believers don't celebrate Christmas. Some of us feel it's un-Jewish to do so, especially given the existence of Hanukkah and its anti-assimilation themes. Some Messianics feel that Christmas is mere dressed up Catholicism, a view shared by some early Reformers. Some Messianics highlight pagan influences that have seeped in: Christmas trees, yuletide, and other “Christmas” symbols have more to do with Norse and Germanic mythology than the historical Jewish Messiah. In this new episode, Messianic apologist and author J.K. McKee and I discuss how Messianic people can navigate the winter holidays while avoiding some of the doom, gloom, and heresy hunting too prevalent in today's Hebrew Roots movement. I argue we Messianic believers ought to have joy at this time of year. It's OK to have joy that Messiah was born. It's OK to have joy that billions of people are celebrating His birth, even if it's not exactly on the right day. Tune in for a great discussion between John, who celebrates Hanukkah, and Judah, who celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas.

The Edenic CovenantTravel back with me in time to before Covid, before 9/11Before the Gulf War,Before both the World Wars,Before the building of the Ancient pyramidsTo a time where time began...The History of this time is not written in chronological order. This account of History begins with....In the Beginning God, if we have trouble with these four words, we won't be digging any deeper to find the gold hidden in the rest of the account. The beginning verses go onto describe a beautiful new home created by God for humans, created in not His but “their Image” revealing a God head in three parts, yet one. In this podcast interview, Bill and I discuss the killing of George Floyd and the ensuing protests around our country and around the world. We approach these events from a Catholic perspective, taking into account the testimony of the Scriptures as well as statements from Pope Francis, Archbishop Gomez, and our own Bishop Kevin Vann. This Biblical and ecclesial approach offers a framework out of which Catholics can further discuss this topic and take appropriate action. We also speak about the reopening of our churches on the Feast of Corpus Christi this upcoming weekend. We look at issues such as the fear that some are having about returning to church and we discuss how to manage that fear, balancing our trust in God with the gifts He has given to us of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and insight.Full Statement from Pope Francis:https://n.pr/2Uxx4m2Full Statement from Archbishop Jose Gomez:https://bit.ly/2XTC7Q4Full Statement from Bishop Kevin Vann:https://bit.ly/3cWUNT4How do Catholics Respond to the Coronavirus?:https://bit.ly/3cMW676
This Biblical quarantine has to take the prize, at least in the category of peculiarity! It is simply amazing to see what God did in the life of this powerful, pagan king, leader of the Babylonian world empire. But just as interesting as the details of his very unique experience is the personal response he had to what God brought his way. Again, as in the rest of the devotionals on these Biblical characters, there are very good lessons to learn. (WT29)

Faith without works is dead, but we are justified by faith apart from works of the law. This Biblical paradox has divided and confused people for many years, but the woman who touched the hem of Jesus garment and was healed teaches us that faith calls us to action, but actions do not save us. When faith is striving and based on human effort, it’s wrong; faith is a gift, and He is inviting us to participate with Him in the journey.
In this episode, we begin to look at the prophetic profile that is contained in the Bible about a future prophet who will be like unto Moses. This Biblical profile predicts a change in behavior,...
This Sunday we continue our sermon series on the ordo salutis. The doctrine of the order of salvation is focused on the question, “How is the work of Christ applied to the life of believers?” Christ has accomplished salvation through His life, death, and resurrection, but how do the benefits of what He has accomplished come to affect our lives? This week we come to the specific doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. This Biblical principle teaches us that all who have been united to Christ through faith will persevere in that faith unto the end. There is a continuous work of the Holy Spirit within those who have been born again such that they will never lose their salvation. Or, as Mike Milton simply states, “What God starts, God completes.” To come prepared for the sermon, take time this week to read and to meditate upon Philippians 2:5-13, Ezekiel 11:17-21, Matthew 10:21-22, John 10:28, Romans 8:29-39, and Westminster Confession of Faith 17. As we gather to worship our loving Father this Lord’s day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “Surely God Is in This Place,” the Acclamation of Praise “And Can It Be That I Should Gain,” and the Hymn of Response “I Know Whom I Have Believed.” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!

Do you picture a beautiful house complete with a gourmet meal, friends around the dinner table, and polite chit chat? Hospitality can be this, but it’s really much more. Hospitality can look like: Inviting a non-Christian family out to pizza after the soccer game. Sharing a picnic at the park with the single mom down the street. Inviting that new couple at church over for Sunday brunch. Hospitality can come in many forms but the ultimate purpose is this: To honor and obey God by serving those around us. Bishop Robert Barron’s Sermons - Catholic Preaching and Homilies
Our first reading for this Sunday is taken from the wonderful book of Ecclesiastes. This Biblical text is made up of the cranky reflections of Qoheleth, an old man who has seen it all and done it all--and finds all of it "vanity and a chase after wind." Why do we attend to his rather sardonic meditations? We do so because it is altogether salutary to be reminded that our ultimate joy is found in none of the goods of this world. So sit down with Qoheleth, pretend he's your curmudgeonly but loveable grandfather, and listen.
