Through The Eyes of a Horse Horse Therapy-the horse who started it all: Cherokee   What can I say, I LOVE horses! I have always loved horses, just seeing them makes me smile. Yet as a girl growing up in the suburbs of Chicago I was never around any horses. The attraction is a mystery. Never in my WILDEST dreams could I have imagined that at my age I would be surrounded by them every single day, training them, getting certified to train them, grooming them and now bringing a therapy to the public in which the horses becomes the teacher. They are incredible creatures with so much to offer. My journey began after my amputation and with the horse you see pictured above. Even though I was only around him for 30-45 minutes, the impact he made on my life was the most profound experience I have ever felt! Not only did my amputation change the trajectory of my life, now horses were a part of this ever changing path. Now after 4 years of learning and teaching, observing and making mistakes,  I am ready to bring this mental healing to others, and I AM EXCITED!!!   CONNECTION   BEING PRESENT   TRUST   The benefits of just being in proximity to horses is incredible! The healing they can bring to our lives is unmatched. I hope that one day you, too, can feel the healing power of horses in your life, and I would love to be the one to take you there. Join me on this new journey that I never, EVER saw coming a mere 5 years ago. Let's work together and heal ourselves through the eyes of a horse.   I pray you have a beautiful week and a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! And as always, Be Healthy, Be Happy, Be YOU!! Much Love,   My silly girl!

David's blog, aTexasCowboy.com, started to attract audiences in no time! Hundreds of people enjoyed his posts — it was a surprisingly huge hit. But here's the thing, David is quite the perfectionist. He has zero tolerance for poor grammar and takes great care to proofread his work at least 10 times before even hitting “Publish.” Juggling an unmonetized blog with his already demanding profession didn't feel like a path he wanted to keep pursuing, so he inevitably threw it to the back-burner. But despite not updating their website, his audience stayed. So, they started a Facebook page called, “Through The Eyes of a Cowboy.” And it was another instant hit! Years roll by and now David is struck with a new realization: He can't keep training horses forever, not at this level and not when he is getting older. Metal Debate Album Review - Summon Thy Demons (Mezzrow)

Welcome back metalheads to another episode of the great metal debate podcast. It's your man Xander again and today the Swedish thrash metal band Mezzrow has finally released their second album titled Summon Thy Demons. This long awaited release on Fireflash Records has much better production quality and it is instantly noticeable during the first song "King of the Infinite Void". Gone are the days of the drumming sounding like someone slapping their hands on a countertop and in with the crisp audio of Jon Skare pounding the skins. It is worth noting that this band has zero original members as they have all come and gone over the years. This fresh line-up seems to truly capture lightning in a bottle. As someone who has never been crazy about the style of thrash metal, I'm glad that this new album seems to be one of the few I personally enjoy. Summon Thy Demons has a real modern Havok and Warbringer-esq vibe about them. They are fast, loud and aggressive while keeping that classic Sodom bravado especially with front man Uffe Pettersson's vocal delivery. Another thing that I like about his style is that I can hear every single word that he says in every song making the entire album one big sing-along. The second song "Through The Eyes of the Ancient Gods" is a thrashing good time with great overall musicianship and catchy lyrics. And then we have the album title track coming in softly with a faded out choir before annihilating your eardrums with the menacing words that feels like venom being spat in your face. The next song on the album "What Is Dead May Never Die" is a real headbanger thanks to guitarists Magnus Soderman and Ronnie Bjornstrum with their amazing riffs. The song is quite an earworm too. I had this song stuck in my head for a while after hearing it for the first time. The beginning of the song "De Mysteriis Inmortui" has an old school 1980s era Metallica sound to the violent heavy metal riff. Personally I refer to this song as "Summon The Dead" because of the gang vocals towards the end chanting these words. I love how before this next song fades in, we hear a sonar beeping from a submarine. It's very fitting since the song is titled "Beneath The Sea of Silence" which has yet another kick ass opening guitar riff. I can only imagine what the future mosh pits for this song would look like. Hopefully Mezzrow can do a U.S. tour with another big thrash metal act sometime next year. The guitar solo in this song makes me want to jump straight into a circle pit. When a song starts up with a nuclear test site siren, you know you're in for a hell of a ride. This is of course, is the song "On Earth As In Hell" which gives off all the negative energy that you'd expect from this song title. I love that bass guitar line in the middle of the track which eventually returns to the main guitar groove. I can always appreciate an acoustic guitar in heavy music especially when it serves as a calm way to ease listers into a very modern Kreator sound guitar riff. That's what I enjoy most about the song "Blackness Fell Upon The World". It's a killer song that only further compliments the already badass album. For some reason when the vocals and bass sections come up, "Dark Spirit Rising" and "The End of Everything" both are packed with enough adrenaline to close out this long awaited thrasher. Despite Mezzrow being a band for over 3 decades, I feel like they have been reborn from the ashes like a fiery Phoenix given their circumstances. I can't find any real flaws with Summon Thy Demons and it is certainly superior to most thrash metal that gets released these days. If you are a thrasher, there is a great chance you'll love these guys. I'm going to give this album a 7 out of 10. You can show your support by buying their merch from their website at fireflashrecords.com

After authoring "A History of Interest Rates", a book which examined over four millennia of interest rates trhoughout periods of inflation, financial crises' and recessions, there's no one better equipped to discuss the Fed's current tightening cycle and how it impacted banks such as SVB in the Fed's current quest to fight inflation. A View of 9/11 Through The Eyes of Two of New York's Finest - Many people have a vision of what it is to be a fireman. Without the actual experience, they can only be partially correct. This is the inside story of a fireman's life, through the first-person account of a 31-year veteran of the Fire Department New York. The author takes us from his early days when "I had no idea of the adventures I would encounter," through his career, and to the awful days surrounding September 11, 2001. The admiration for his comrades is shown throughout his stories. You are with him through the terrible Macy's fire where a young fireman loses his life, as well as the collapse at the Brooklyn Waldbaum's store where 10 firemen are missing. On September 11, 2001, 100 of the 343 firefighters killed were friends and people he knew. Sixteen sons of men he knew were killed that day. The name Ayllusuyu is from the Quechua language of Peru - ayllu is community and suyu is region - loosely translated to say, "the region of communities together." It is based in the healing traditions of Peru. The healing happens when a person consciously reveal aspects of one's self that have been buried. It helps a person to realize that he/she doesn't have to work so hard at changing who he/she is because that can't be done. What a person can do is release the dense forms of beliefs one was given so that life can be lived with the strength of a person's true self to guide the way. This will and does change the way a person is in the world and with one's self. Fran works in the time-honored ways of sacred ceremony of the ancient Inca and the other indigenous people in Peru. When they go to the high Andes, usually at 16,000 feet, they camp there and work with the mountains themselves in sacred ceremony. Wherever they go, it's always in sacred ceremony. Sometimes, in the mountains, the Q'ero, who are the direct pure-blood descendants of the Inca, are with them. When they are in the jungle, they work with a shaman who was born and has lived there all his life. Fran has stayed in the jungles for months at a time so she knows of its primal life energy and how life-awakening that is. All those teachings are brought back here and offered in workshops and other gatherings. Her book, Through The Eyes of Jaguar: One Woman's Journey, is about her experiences in Peru and the teachings gained through them. - www.ayllusuyu.com******************************************************************To listen to all our XZBN shows, with our compliments go to: https://www.spreaker.com/user/xzoneradiotv*** AND NOW ***The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.comThe ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com ******************************************************************

Stories are central to the human experience; we love to tell them and love to listen to them, and we tend to walk away from them having been changed in some way. Jesus was a master storyteller: He had a way of telling stories (the Bible calls them parables) that forced His audience to ask profound and relevant questions about their lives. We've all got an idea of who God is: a judge, a teacher, an impersonal force. Yet the picture of God that Jesus gives us is radically different than the pictures of other human religions and, as it turns out, far more transformative. Listen as Pastor Clint explores the Parable of the Loving Father, and what this tells us all about God. Sermon Resources: 1. "For over fifteen years I have been asking people of all walks of life from Morocco to India and from Turkey to Sudan about the implications of a son's request for his inheritance while the father is still living. The answer has always been emphatically the same...the conversation runs as follows: Has anyone ever made such a request in your village? Never! Could anyone ever make such a request? Impossible! If anyone ever did, what would happen? His father would beat him, of course! Why? The request means--he wants his father to die.” -Kenneth Bailey, from "The Cross and the Prodigal: Luke 15 Through The Eyes of Middle Eastern Peasants" 2. “Leaving home is living as though I do not yet have a home and must look far and wide to find one…I leave home every time I lose faith in the voice that calls me the Beloved and follow the voices that offer a great variety of ways to win the love I so much desire.” -Henri Nouwen, "The Return of the Prodigal Son" Join or follow us below: Facebook: www.facebook.com/thespringmid... Instagram: www.instagram.com/midtown.pres/ Website: www.midtownpres.org/ Community Groups: www.midtownpres.org/community-groups Sunday Services: www.midtownpres.org/

“It's not about who we are - it's about who Jesus is because when we discover His identity, that informs ours. I think I learned the most “fun facts” in this interview than any one I've ever done! Pastor Levi Lusko is my guest today and I'm so excited to have him on the show. I was first introduced to him from his book Through The Eyes of a Lion. I remember weeping so much at his words so I couldn't wait to get my hands on his new book. We talk about the 40s being the most fun and productive decade, and how motivated we feel at this stage to fully step into our purpose. We also dive into Levi's newest book The Last Supper on the Moon where he discusses the importance of communion and breaks down how similar we are to the moon (you're going to want to hear this metaphor!).

This week Amy and Mike talk with author Aaron Armstrong about his new "Big Truths Bible Storybook" for kids. What is truth? Can we make up our own truth? In the “Big Truths Bible Storybook”, readers ages 6 to 10 will learn that God's Word is the source of all truth. They'll find 52 stories each tied to a big truth found in the Bible. For example, through Joseph's story, kids will see that God is in control of everything in heaven and on earth. Through David's story, they'll learn that grace is when God gives us something good even when we don't deserve it. The big truths of God's Word can sometimes be deep and difficult, but the “Big Truths Bible Storybook” makes them relatable to young readers through simple storytelling, beautiful artwork, discussion questions, and more! After reading this book, kids will better understand that God's Word can be trusted, and His truths will last forever. Aaron Armstrong is an author, blogger, and Brand Manager for The Gospel Project, based outside of Nashville, Tennessee. He has written several books, including “Epic: The Story that Changed the World” as well as the screenplays for the documentaries “Through The Eyes of Spurgeon”, and “LUTHER: The Life and Legacy of the German Reformer.” He writes regularly at BloggingTheologically.com, and his writing has appeared on numerous websites including The Gospel Coalition, For the Church, Crosswalk.com, and ChurchLeaders.com.

Jessica Janzen Olstad is a motivational speaker, published author and a ‘serial-preneur'. She and her husband, Hot Ronnie, are the founders of the Love for Lewiston Foundation. After losing their son Lewiston just over 4 years ago she decided that she would stop wasting time and would get moving on her big dreams - speaking, writing and inspiring others to do the same. Her clothing line - The Lewiston Label - highlights the life lessons Lewiston taught her. The foundation is impacting lives across Canada and supporting critical research and medical needs for families fighting Spinal Muscular Atrophy. To date, in just 3 1/2 years, they have raised over $1, 000, 000. She loves spending time with family, soaking up sunshine, being by water -  and dreaming really big always with the daily focus to "run towards the roar". In this episode: Run towards the roar! The things that scare you the most and that are the hardest to do will be on your highlight reel. Bring the joy even in life's most challenging moments and difficult times. Own your time from dusk until dawn. Evening and morning routines can set you up for success and the unexpected. Find the rhythm for the season of your life. There isn't balance. Things are going to ebb and flow and be up and down. You get to define your journey and write your story. You have to believe that anything is possible and then go after it. Mentioned by Jessica: Book: Through the Eyes of a Lion: Facing Impossible Pain, Finding Incredible Power by Levi Lusko On this episode of The Part-Time Jungle Podcast, I had an incredibly inspiring conversation with Jessica about bringing the joy and running towards the roar. We talked about owning your time from dusk until dawn, finding the rhythm for the season of your life, and how you can define your journey and write your story. Jessica is warm and engaging. She keeps it so real in terms of her journey, motherhood, work, and the challenges and success along the way. You will be absolutely inspired by Jessica's story, the lessons learned from her son Lewiston, and how she has turned pain into rocket fuel. LIFE LESSONS FROM LEWISTON Jessica and her family have a clothing company called The Lewiston Label and it truly highlights the life lessons that her son Lewiston has taught them with these inspiring messages written on the shirts. For Jessica, one of the most valuable and important lessons, has been to run towards the roar. In fact, she has a tattoo with that very message on her forearm. THROUGH THE EYES OF A LION When her son Lewiston passed, she was gifted a book called “Through The Eyes of a Lion” written by Levi Lusko, a pastor out of Montana. In that book, he talks about the death of his daughter who unexpectedly passed away five days before Christmas due to an asthma attack. In one of the chapters of the books, he talks about the way that lions hunt and he brilliantly uses this as an analogy for our lives. CIRCLE BACK AND RETREAT Female lions are the primary hunters in a lion pride. Male lions provide the pride with protection while the females provide the food. While hunting, the female lion chases the prey towards the male lion. The male lion will be waiting and he uses his roar to scare the prey to run back towards the female. Often in life, when we are running towards things and having forward momentum, things can get scary, hard, or unknown.
