Michael Collura, President & CEO, In Home Personal Services, Inc, A DotCom Magazine Exclusive Interview About Michael Collura and In Home Personal Services, Inc Entrepreneur and leader with strong business development and marketing skills. I enjoy what I do not because of the success, but because that success is enjoyed by so many others I am privileged to work with every day. I always felt that if I was the smartest one in the room, I failed. So, I have surrounded myself with talented individuals that compliment my own strengths and make up in areas where I myself fall short. This is the secret to our continued growth and success…the Team. While I, the least important person in the room, sit back and take pride in their achievements. My job is simple…remove obstacles from their path and give them whatever they need to grow! At In Home Personal Services not only are we providing care for seniors, veterans, and those with disabilities but we are also making personal connections, building relationships, and giving our clients the chance to maintain their independence. As a caregiver with IHPS you will receive comprehensive, hands-on training that will equip you to anticipate the needs of each individual. Our training process goes above and beyond the state regulated requirements, and offers on-going and refresher education. At IHPS we work together to provide the best care. This doesn't just mean helping with physical needs; equally as important are the relationships that we build with our clients and their families, offering companionship that is priceless. A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US We work with our clients and their families to allow them to remain living independently and safely in their own homes. We have built a reputation for helping our clients maintain a high quality of life and we never waiver from our mission. In Home Personal Services has stood alone when it comes to creating individualized care plans based on our client's specific needs. We work primarily within independent living communities, allowing our clients to remain living independently and safely within their home longer. Let us match the perfect caregiver with your loved one's around-the-clock in-home care or individualized support care needs. This might include full-time in-home senior care or specific support such as bathing, companionship, meal preparation, or other helpful in-home care services. OUR STORY In Home Personal Services began in January 2004, founded by Michael A. Collura working with his own Mother to provide quality care to seniors who wished to remain in the comfort of their own home. We understood early on the challenges facing many seniors and their families when it came to aging and the desire to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle in the comfort of one's familiar surroundings. In Home Personal Service was formed with the belief that home care should be tailored to meet the individual needs of every client. It has remained our mission, to ensure the client and their family receive the highest level of quality care. Many challenges were faced along the way including new laws and regulations for standards of quality care introduced by State authorities in 2008. Michael and the IHPS team were already operating well above these new standards, proving their mission was a success as they had not only met the standards of quality care issued by the regulatory authorities, they had exceeded them. Today Michael continues his mission and In Home Personal Services has grown not just in its native State of Illinois, but throughout the United States. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Politically correct radicals have used the tools of speech, censorship and liberty to wage war against our civilization. Michael Knowles joins me to discuss it and his book, "Speechless: Controlling Words, Controlling Minds." And the president of the Human Rights Campaign is in hot water for helping Gov. Andrew Cuomo take aim at one of his female accusers. Will HRC-supporting companies jump ship on this sexually radical organization? Mike Morawski is a 30+ year real estate investment veteran. Mike is an entrepreneur, author, real estate trainer, public speaker, and personal coach with a strong, personal resilience, and deep desire to help others live an extraordinary life. He has coached hundreds of real estate investors to fulfill their dreams. Mike has always believed that transparency and honesty are central to any successful business and personal life. As a result of the 2008 world economic crisis, Mike let his guard down and let his transparency slip. Due to the market climate, he found himself in a defensive mode operating out of chaos and fear. In an attempt to protect his company's investors, Mike had to make difficult business decisions. Some of those decisions were handled poorly. As a result of those poor decisions, the company imploded and Mike faced wire and mail fraud charges which lead to a 10-year federal prison sentence. This was a devastating loss of life as he knew it and everything he thought was important and came as a harsh wake-up call. Mike used his time in prison to make a difference. He worked to receive his college bachelor's degree. Mike developed and taught bible studies, ethics, real estate, and property management classes. Mike's resilient mindset helped him turn things around. Now Mike is focused on helping real estate owner/operators and other industry professionals make wise, responsible decisions while continuing to grow their businesses and create a profit. The positive impact Mike can have on you comes from learning from his experiences, both positive and negative. Mike offers to be what he did not have during that time – someone to help you make tough decisions when challenges come your way. Mike's comeback story will inspire you and open your eyes. Entrepreneurs are often faced with decisions that impact the rest of their life. As Mike experienced, those choices can either be positive or devastatingly negative. Today Michael's passion is sharing his knowledge and wisdom with others for their gain. Mike is the host of the Insider Secrets Podcast and the co-host of Multi-family Unplugged Vidcast. Michael has built My Core Intentions training and coaching platform to help real estate investors and industry professionals excel in their field. His Core principle is to teach his clients how to create “short-term cash flow and long-term wealth.” This is delivered through live and virtual training events, and three levels of personal coaching. Two of the things that set My Core Intentions apart is their teaching about developing an exit plan and a deep dive into creating wealth through small multi-family properties. Living on Borrowed Time. Today Pastor Michael is starting a new series on the end times.  Today Michael is examining how Peter, in writing a letter to believers that are suffering, asks what kind of people should we be in view of the events of the end times?   (ESV Study Bible Notes) The people of God ought to live in holiness and godliness, to avoid the punishment coming to the ungodly and to devote themselves to things that will last beyond the judgment. (Disciple's Study Bible Notes) Purity—What kind of persons ought people to be in view of the events of the end time? The answer is holy and godly, spotless and blameless, guarded and growing. Since God is holy, to be godly is to be holy. To be holy is to be distinct from the ordinary and worldly. Moral blamelessness must be maintained. The influence of error and evil demands persons who are on guard. The prospect of meeting the Lord encourages growth in grace and knowledge of Christ. The sincere expectation of the Lord's coming promotes personal purity. Today's bible verses are found in 2 Peter 3: 9-13.

Michael Muller is Hollywood's most in-demand photographer. But that title doesn't even begin to capture the breadth of his extraordinary, Hemingway-esque life. It's a path defined by his commitment to curiosity. An unquenchable thirst for adventure. Unbridled creativity. And an impulse to always, always move towards fear.Traveling to 60 countries before he even entered high school (a count that is currently at 200), Michael spent the greater part of his childhood living in Saudi Arabia. It was there that his passion for photography blossomed. The more he saw, the more he felt drawn to capturing his experiences in imagery.By his mid-teens that passion had already become a career, documenting the snowboarding & punk rock scenes across California. But he soon found himself behind the velvet rope in Los Angeles, documenting the next generation of silver screen superstars. But the ripe age of 22, Michael established himself as a leading Hollywood entertainment and fashion photographer. Today Michael is the top dog in his game — a guy who has photographed everyone who is anyone for every prominent media outlet from Vanity Fair to Esquire: Joaquin Phoenix, Brad Pitt, Jeff Bridges, Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Hugh Jackman, Bruce Willis, Scarlett Johansson, Nirvana, Leonardo DiCaprio. You get the picture. The question isn’t who has he photographed, it’s who hasn’t he. That iconic photograph of Kobe Bryant bowing that graced the cover of TIME magazine in February? That’s Michael. That blockbuster movie poster or billboard you love? Chances are that’s Michael too -- the man behind countless studio campaigns from Marvel movies to Inherent Vice. But Michael’s truest passion — and a primary focus of today’s exchange — is sharks. Specifically, great whites. Documenting them on film. Understanding them. Educating others about them. And most importantly, preserving them. This conversation is about so many things. It’s of course a recap of Michael’s unbelievable life, which is more adventure novel than a resume. It’s about the nature of creativity. It’s about what drives him — his philosophies on work, passion, service — and the incredible power of the image to shape culture. It's about his relationship with fear. PTSD. And how swimming with sharks changed his relationship with himself and the natural environment we all share. It’s also keenly focused on preserving our oceans, specifically protecting our sharks, 100 million of which are killed every year. These apex predators are beyond vital to our ocean’s ecosystem, and without them, you’ll soon learn, our oceans will crumble. But more than anything, this conversation is about what the great whites represent: fear. It's about why the only way to overcome this debilitating emotion is to move towards it. To face it head-on.The visually inclined can watch our exchange on YouTube. And as always, the podcast streams wild and free on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.Charismatic and larger than life, Michael is unlike any previous guest I've hosted on this podcast. originally from High Ridge, MO, Michael grew up in a fairly typical blue-collar, hard-working, middle-America household. Michael is the son of a union carpenter and a secretary. The value of hard work was instilled early on by Michael's parents and he attributes a lot of his blue-collar work ethic to the example they provided. Passing on scholarship offers to smaller schools, Michael took a leap of faith and walked onto the University of Missouri wrestling team in 2004 after high school graduation. He knew “betting on himself” was a gamble and that it's no easy task to compete at the highest level of college wrestling, but that didn't stop him. Today Michael looks back at his time at MIZZOU as another chapter in the continual defining seasons of is life. He was the most unaccomplished young man on the team, but through determination and putting in more work than was expected of him, he was able to amass a 100-30 record, All-American honours and become a leader on the team.A list of his accomplishments at the University of Missouri include:Four-time NCAA qualifierDivision I All-AmericanTwo-time runner-up at BIG XII ChampionshipsFour-year starter100 career winsTwo-year team captainIn 2009, three months after graduation, Michael competed in his first MMA fight, won by first-round TKO and hasn't looked back since. Episode 168: My Last Bad Day - The SHIFT - Interview Michael O'Brien  On the morning of July 11, 2001, Michael O’Brien, an avid cyclist, was riding his bicycle on a New Mexico road when an SUV hit him head-on going 40 mph. The crushing accident left him near death as the mede-vac helicopter descended to take his broken body to be pieced back together. Today Michael is with us and will take us to the darkness of his accident and the long, slow road to recovery, but he’ll also take us to his shift - the moment when he decided it was the power of his mind that would decide the rest of his life. It wasn’t the tragedy that would define him, but how he responded to the tragedy. I recently returned from a Genius Bootcamp, put on by Leslie Householder, in Arizona. The concept behind her teachings are a greater understanding of universal law and how to implement those laws for the greatest most powerful creations of our own lives. At the very foundation of universal law is the understanding of the power of the human mind. Where we focus our attention begins to create things spiritually, and eventually we bring those into the physical world - whether it’s an idea of something we want to create, attracting money, or changing our vibrations to live healthier or with more joy. Truth always ties into truth and as I read Michael O’Brien’s book Shift  and cheered him on as he intentionally chose the mindset and perspective that would help him make his way back into a life he wanted, I just smiled at the way this truth comes up over and over. This is why I’m always asking you, “What story are you telling yourself?” “Are you creating your life on purpose?” And “You’re responsible for creating the life story you want to tell.” It’s all about our personal agency to shift our story when needed.” Listen to the audio program to hear Michael's story and how he shifted. We talk about questions like: 1. Your accident was almost 20 years ago and I believe your book just came out. When did you decide you wanted to start sharing your story and why? 2. Take us back to the accident - what do you remember? 3. What was the hardest part? 4. What would you do differently? 5. What were you most grateful for at the time? 6. How did the shift happen? 7. You have 20 tips at the back of your book - can you share your top 3? When I talk about reframing our stories - the ones that are holding us back, I’m talking about this very thing - this SHIFT. When we are stuck in a story that isn’t serving us, we MUST understand that we can shift our perspective and change our interpretation in order to stay on higher vibrational levels - in order to stay out of the victim mindset - in order to live our best life story.  I’m grateful to Michael for sharing his story and his shift and giving us a visual of what that looks like in action. The power of our minds more vast than we can comprehend. Use yours to create your best space: to lift you when you are down, to intentionally create the life you want, to overcome. For more information on Michael and his books: www.facebook.com/michaelspeloton www.instagram.com/michaelobrienshift Books: My Last Bed Day Shift, and his memoir: Shift: Creating Better Tomorrows Your challenge this week is to find a story that needs to shift for you. Are you in a fight with your spouse and you can choose to let go of a way of seeing something that can help you find a happier space? Are you holding a grudge - can you shift and give someone the benefit of the doubt? Do you have something bigger that needs a major shift? Try changing the thought and see what happens. Things only have the power we give them. See you in two weeks on the next episode of Love Your Story

The Art of Manliness

War is about many things: glory, violence, courage, destruction. But at its heart is death. Each side in a conflict tries to kill as many of the enemy as possible, while avoiding being killed themselves. The way these deaths have played out over thousands of years of warfare has changed not simply based on the way martial technology has changed, but also on the way that the psychological and cultural pressures that have led societies and individual men to fight have changed.  My guest today, Michael Stephenson, is a military historian who explores these evolutions in his book The Last Full Measure: How Soldiers Die in Battle. Today Michael and I discuss the forces that led soldiers to their fate over the centuries, from advancements in weaponry to the expectations of social class. At the beginning of our conversation Michael discusses why he wanted to write this book, and the balance he had to walk in trying to describe the reality of death on the battlefield, without conveying those details in a sensationalistic or titillating manner. We then trace the history of death in war, beginning with its primitive beginnings and working our way to the modern day. Along the way we discuss how gunpowder changed the nature of warfare, the effect that distance has on how heroic a confrontation seems, why artillery is particularly terrifying, what motivates soldiers to fight, and much more. This is a surprisingly enlightening and humane look at an oft glossed over aspect of the human experience. Get the show notes at aom.is/lastfullmeasure.
