When we see injustice, everything in us wants to act. But what if vengeance isn't ours to take?Today, we continue our year-long Bible study in the book of Exodus, The Gospel: One Rescue at a Time. In this episode, Paul explores a pivotal moment in Moses' life—when anger leads him to take justice into his own hands—and reminds us why only God can rightly deal with evil.To hear more from this Exodus series, visit PaulTripp.com/Exodus.

There has been a huge increase in Christian “Bible” Cults over the past 40 plus years- especially ones that do “Shepherding or Dicipling” in an authoritarian structure. The public doesnt understand how millions of people are deceptively recruited and indoctrinated into these groups and why they are called “cults.” One such cult network started in Massachusetts in 1979 as “the Boston Church of Christ” and are not to be confused with the mainline Church of Christ or the United Church of Christ. This group uses BITE Model methods to recruit and indoctrinate followers to follow the top leader as an “apostle or prophet” or “God's chosen man to lead Christianity on earth. Unlike legitimate Christian churches this cult claims to be the “only” path to salvation and demands people subit and obey a discpling partner as if they were Jesus. Their lives and free will are taken over by involvement with this group. REcruiting other, giving money, abandoning education and careers, even family are part of the playbook. Tania Diaz was recruited as an 18 college student in Mexico and spent over 20 years. She and her husband were groomed to recruit countless Hispanics into this cult. She would rise through the church's ranks, only escaping nearly thirty years later to become an anti-cult activist, self-compassion advocate, and host of a podcast dedicated to survivors of religious abuse, Voces: Espacio Sagrado para Sobrevivientes de Abuso Religioso (In English, Voices: A Sacred Space for Survivors of Religious Abuse) Learn more about your ad choices. Martyn Lloyd-Jones Sermon Podcast

Romans 3:21-31 — How can the righteousness of God become ours? Is it given to believers through works or by faith? In this sermon on Romans 3:21-31 titled “More than Forgiveness,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones explains that the righteousness of God is not obtained by works of the law or merely an acceptance in the mind of truth. Righteousness is given when there is a true trust in Christ's work in salvation. This trust results not only in forgiveness of sins but by the believer being clothed in the very righteousness of God. It is important to understand that forgiveness of sins by itself is not enough for salvation. This belief misconstrues the holy and just nature of God that requires satisfaction of the law's demands. Therefore, the believer must have a righteousness that satisfies God and so the clothing of the believer in righteousness not his own is essential. May this truth move our hearts to rejoice in this great act of God done on our behalf through Christ's work.

In this conversation, I got to catch up with my friend Jacob Erickson, who's doing some inspiring work at Trinity College Dublin, where they've just launched a new Master's in Theology and Social Justice. What struck me most was how Jake and his colleagues are embodying this broader transformation happening in theological education - moving beyond those traditional disciplinary boundaries to create genuinely interdisciplinary spaces where theology isn't just talking aboutother fields, but actually thinking with scientists, activists, and practitioners. We dug into how this shift has happened over the last couple decades - from philosophers bracketing God to study religion as a phenomenon, to theologians like Tillich doing theology of culture, to the changing student body that's bringing questions that don't fit neatly into traditional confessional boxes. Jake's insights about wisdom versus knowledge really hit home - how religious traditions offer this "porous knowledge" that comes with demands and can't be separated from formation and embodiment. And I loved hearing about his work with plant studies and how hanging out with botanists and mycologists at Harvard is opening up new ways of thinking about everything from Christology to what it means to be entangled with other creatures. It's exactly the kind of risky, playful, boundary-crossing work that makes theology come alive. Dr. Jacob J. Erickson is Assistant Professor of Theological Ethics in the School of Religion, Theology, and Peace Studies at Trinity College Dublin. A constructive theologian and theological ethicist, Erickson writes to evoke an ecotheology of planetary conviviality--the playful and just cherishing of life together--in the midst of current ecological crises, ecological injustice, emerging perspectives in the wake of global warming, and new challenges in energy production. More Than a Song - Discovering the Truth of Scripture Hidden in Today's Popular Christian Music

Send us a textHave you ever been in a wilderness season for an extended period of time? I'm in one now, and Jamie MacDonald's song Desperate resonated deeply with me. When we explore the stories of desperate people in Scripture, we find that God consistently shows up in powerful ways. This week, we follow the example of one such person—the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings—and discover how faith-fueled contentment can coexist with crisis.Scripture References2 Kings 4:8-37Key PointsDesperation comes in many forms. Scripture reveals both positive and negative responses to desperation—such as the woman with the issue of blood versus Esau trading his birthright for a bowl of stew.Faith-fueled contentment is not denial. The Shunammite woman's “all is well” was not a pep talk—it was a declaration rooted in deep faith.Desperation doesn't have to drive you from God—it can drive you to Him. In her moment of crisis, the Shunammite woman didn't send word—she went to the prophet herself and clung to his feet.Unmet desires don't negate contentment. Even though she didn't ask for a son, the longing was still there—and God met it. But when the promise seemed lost, she chose action rooted in belief.Observing biblical narrative carefully leads to powerful insight. Repetition, character details, and implied time gaps all deepen our understanding of the text and help us engage more fully.Bible Interaction Tool Exercises (BITEs) UsedRead in context – Engage with the full narrative in 2 Kings 4:8-37.Repetition – Read and re-read the passage to become familiar with the details.Make observations – Write down what you notice in the text.Use your imagination – Picture the setting and feel the emotions in the scene.Define words – Look up and explore both meanings and antonyms.Consider the opposite – What does it mean not to be desperate? What does contentment look like?Use the SPECK method: S – Is there a sin to avoid?P – Is there a promise revealed?E – Is there an example to follow?C – Is there a command to obey?K – What should I know about God?Additional ResourcesLyrics and chords - New Release TodayMy friend Denise Pass's book Make Up Your Mind and her speaking live on the Shunammite woman has informed this episode - link to Make Up Your MindFree Episode Guide Logos Bible Software Affiliate Link resources - Logos Bible Software Affiliate LinkThis Week's ChallengeRead this narrative for yourself in 2 Kings 4:8-37. We're reading through the genealogies handed down over the centuries that trace God's people from Adam & Eve all the way through the exile to Babylon. Remember that each name represents a lifetime and a family: real people with real lives who either trusted in the Lord or who were stiff-necked and rebelled against the Lord. Reading these genealogies juxtaposed against chapters from Ecclesiastes reminds me that one day you and I may just be names on a list to those who come after us, but what the Lord accomplishes in us and through will not be forgotten by the One who formed us, redeemed us, and called us His own. How sweet it is to know that the Lord remembers His people by name.1 Chronicles 5 - 1:06 . 1 Chronicles 6 - 5:34 . 1 Chronicles 7 - 15:11 . Ecclesiastes 11 - 21:29 . Ecclesiastes 12 - 23:17 .  :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by Bobby Brown, Katelyn Pridgen, Eric Williamson & the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org

There are plenty of things about Scripture and the Gospel story that could bring a person to question its truth. If we are truly seeking God, He will reveal Himself to us. Then we must choose to put our faith in Him, follow Him, and love Him, ourselves and others as He calls us to.

Pastor Micah Stephens preaches from Acts 28, exploring God's unusual kindness through Paul's shipwreck and viper bite on Malta. Reflecting on VBS and family time, he challenges believers to embrace obedience amid trials, trusting God's perfect plan even when it seems chaotic. Pastor Micah contrasts worldly expectations with God's sovereignty, emphasizing that hardships—like Paul's fourth shipwreck—lead to miraculous outcomes, such as Malta's transformation to Christianity. He urges reliance on God's unfailing promises, shaking off life's “vipers” to proclaim His goodness, reminding the church that true freedom comes from submission, turning apparent detours into divine missions for eternal glory.Verse References: Acts 28 verses 1–6, Hebrews 6 verse 18, John 8 verse 36, 1 John 5 verse 14, 1 Peter 5 verse 7, 1 John 1 verse 9, Romans 8 verse 28, 1 Corinthians 1 verses 25–27, 1 Corinthians 1 verse 27Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information!https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the pages of Scripture each day. In today's episode, host Hunter invites us into a powerful reflection on what truly makes God's people different in the midst of life's challenges. As we read from 2 Kings 18-19, 2 Chronicles 3, and James 5, we witness the story of King Hezekiah standing firm against the intimidating threats of King Sennacherib of Assyria. Despite overwhelming odds, Hezekiah's trust in God sets him apart, reminding us that it's God's presence—the true difference-maker—that empowers us to face our own Sennacheribs. Today's reading is rich with encouragement: we contemplate Hezekiah's courageous prayer, Solomon's dedication of the temple, and James's call to patience, prayer, and righteousness. Hunter and guest Heather also share a glimpse into their own journey, as they take time to recharge along the Oregon coast, encouraging us all to savor the gift of life and God's love in every season. Whether you're in need of strength, healing, or just a little inspiration for your day, this episode will remind you to draw near to the One who brings victory and transforms our lives. Let's walk together in God's joy and remember—we are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The difference maker. The ominous question that Hezekiah hears from King Sennacherib is: why should you be any different? In other words, why should you expect any other outcome than the one everyone else gets? Sennacherib had a track record. If you are looking for evidence to prove your own impending doom, you'll have no trouble finding it. Your own Sennacherib will show up to tell you that you're no different, either. But King Sennacherib had a problem: King Hezekiah was different. In 2 Kings 18:5, we see that Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after his time. The difference was that God had anointed him. God's presence was with him. Instead of rolling over in defeat as some might, Hezekiah rolled with his anointing—he stepped into the presence of the Lord. 2 Kings 19:14 says, “After Hezekiah received the letter from the messenger and read it, he went up to the Lord's temple and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed.” He asked his God—the only God, the God of Israel—to listen, to bend down, to deliver. He asked God to show Sennacherib, and all of Israel, that God's people are not like everyone else, and that He is a God like no other. In verse 19, it says, “Now, O Lord our God, rescue us from his power. Then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you alone, O Lord, are God." God did that very thing. He proved to Hezekiah, to King Sennacherib, and to all the kings of the earth that He alone is God. He answered the question that crashed in on Hezekiah's heart: what makes you think you are any different? The difference was God. Our God is the difference maker, and He's come to make a difference in your life. He's come to live and abide in us as we live in Him. That makes all the difference in the world. We are able to face those accusations of our own personal Sennacherib, and all those who come to terrify us. We can roll with our anointing and into the presence of God, drawing close to the one who is the difference maker, the one who gives us victory. So draw near to the One who makes the difference. Find your strength in Him. When you hear the words, "What makes you any different?" respond like Hezekiah and roll into the presence of the Lord. Place those accusations at His feet. Ask Him to show you what the difference is once again, so that you might stand up, stand strong, and see the victory that He alone can bring. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

If you've listened to Keeping It Young for long, you've probably heard Dave refer to the "family altar" but what exactly does he mean when he says that? The next few episodes will explain exactly what he means! In this episode, you heard Dave and Bethlie reference a past episode on Deuteronomy 6. Here is the link to part 1 of that 7 episode series. Here are the notes from today's episode. The Family Altar What is a family altar? The family altar refers to the way a Christian family regularly prays together. It is different than grace at a table. It is a daily time that frequently includes Scripture combined with prayers The family altar is: A family altar is a designated space or time in a home dedicated to religious or spiritual practices, often involving prayer, worship, and study of sacred texts. It serves as a focal point for family devotions, fostering a sense of unity, spiritual growth, and connection to faith. The specific elements and practices associated with a family altar can vary greatly depending on the family's religious or spiritual tradition.  An “on purpose way” for a family to regularly learn spiritual truth and traditions The family altar — a designated time and place at home where the family comes together to pray, worship and experience the living God — is like a firewall against Satan's schemes. Show me a family altar, and I will show you an atmosphere of faith and a house where God's presence resides.-Samuel Rodriquez, Influence Magazine The term “family altar” speaks to a time when the leader of the home gathers the family together to focus on God. For some families, that may mean once a week. It could be Sunday evening as the family prepares for another week. It could be Saturday evening as they family prepares their heart for worship with their church the next morning. Other families might practice it everyday at the breakfast table or at nighttime prayers. Why is the family altar important? God says so – that's why! Here are just a few of the examples of God's stance on the family altar: Abraham was told to teach his children so that following generations would know the Lord (Gen. 18:19). Moses taught that parents were to teach their children to love the Lord all throughout the day (Deut. 6:7). The psalmist taught the necessity of God's people declaring God's greatness to the next generations (Ps. 78:3-7). Solomon taught that if you trained a child in the Lord, they would not depart from that way (Prov. 22:6). Fathers were instructed to teach children in the instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4). Why should we have one? It builds unity in a family It teaches Bible truths systematically to our children It makes a statement that our faith is real and valid It focuses our attention on our God It helps to foster peace in the home It is a way to influence our children on a daily basis It provides a way for us to obey the Scriptures regarding our family Links: Want to hear Pastor Dave Young preach? Discipleship isn't about casual commitment, it's about radical surrender. In Luke 14:25–33, we are confronted with the cost of truly following Jesus. Discipleship calls us to more than just a surface-level decision; it's a radical reordering of priorities. Jesus challenges us to “hate” our family and even our own lives, not as a call to self-hatred, but to choose God's will over our own, even when it's hard. Pastor Ryan Sclachter reminds us that true discipleship requires us to examine our hearts, ambitions, and desires in light of our commitment to Christ. It's about daily surrender bearing our cross, not suppressing our personality or self-worth, but choosing God's plan over our own. While the cost of following Jesus is high, the cost of not following Him is infinitely higher. As we count the cost, we discover that what we gain in Christ far outweighs what we give up.

Fraud, unexpected lawsuits, and even a car that seemed possessed, threw his life into chaos. Desperate for peace, John whispered a simple prayer—and God answered in ways he never imagined. His journey led him to the 500 mile Camino in Spain, and a life-changing supernatural encounter in a small chapel along the way. This is the story of losing stuff…and finding everything that truly matters. ---------- John Sottosanti website: https://mortaladhesions.com/ Mortal Adhesions Book: https://amzn.to/3JstG5F  ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. Social at the Movies continues with Inside Out 2! Pastor Robert Madu unpacks how the main character, Riley, experiences many of the same emotions we all face—and often struggle with—every day. Her story challenges us to examine the beliefs we're building our lives upon. Is our pain shaping our perspective? In the movie, Anxiety doesn't just attack Riley's situation—it attacks her identity. True healing doesn't come from denying our emotions, but from learning to feel them without being ruled by them.  Joy is our secret weapon—and it's stronger than Anxiety. Why? Because Joy isn't rooted in our circumstances, but in our connection to God. Thank you for partnering with Social Dallas! The proper perspective can change everything. What we see is limited by our human nature, and the temptation at certain points in life is to conclude that everything is out of control and chaotic. But as Pastor Curtis shows us in this week's message from Revelation 4, the vision that the Apostle John receives is the eternal, heavenly perspective that we need. The fact is, everything comes into focus when we see our lives through the lens of God's glory. And this heavenly perspective should ultimately change how we live on earth.

Romans 3:21-31 — When God interrupts human history, everything changes. Up until this point in Romans, Paul has emphasized wrath and judgement for all since all are guilty of sin and under condemnation. The tone of this letter completely changes in this section with these two small words: “but now.” In this sermon on Romans 3:21-31 titled, “The Turning Point: But Now,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones breaks up the text into two main sections, outlining that Paul has finally begun to discuss the way of salvation and the characteristics of the way of salvation. After much talk of wrath and destruction, it seems like a relief to see that the Lord has provided a righteousness and revealed it. This righteousness is by nothing that anyone has done because it is received only through faith. Both Jews and Gentiles can rejoice because this gift was planned before the foundation of the world, entirely by God's grace, and open to all. Dr. Lloyd-Jones points out that everything about salvation points to the glory of God. Any idea that humanity has concerning salvation should always conform to this one passage of Scripture and nothing about salvation should deny any of these statements.

Read OnlineAt the judgment the queen of the south will arise with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and there is something greater than Solomon here.” Matthew 12:42In this passage, Jesus refers to the Queen of Sheba who traveled about 1,400 miles from Southern Arabia, which was most likely located in either modern-day Yemen or Ethiopia, to meet King Solomon. The queen had heard much about Solomon, about his wealth and wisdom, and wanted to find out if all that she heard was true. So she made the long journey and stayed with him for about six months, according to tradition. After spending time with him, she was greatly impressed and bestowed upon him gifts of gold, spices and precious stones. She said to him, “I did not believe the report until I came and saw with my own eyes that not even the half had been told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report I heard” (1Kings 10:7).This foreign queen was deeply impressed with Solomon. Her journey, gifts and words illustrate her deep respect for him and her admiration. Jesus uses this story to illustrate the simple fact that Jesus Himself is much greater than Solomon and that He should be treated in a way that far surpasses the way the queen treated Solomon. But Jesus also makes it clear that, at the Final Judgment, this queen will rise and condemn the scribes and Pharisees because they failed to see the wisdom and kingship of Jesus. Instead, they came to Jesus, seeking signs and proof of Who He was.In our own lives, the witness of the Queen of Sheba should be a source of true inspiration. She was someone who was powerful and wealthy herself, and yet she wanted to learn from Solomon and to benefit from his great wisdom which was given him by God. She should inspire us to do all we can to daily turn to our Lord and to seek His wisdom.Jesus's wisdom flows to us in many ways. The Gospels are especially important as a source of the most important lessons for life. Personal prayer, reading about the lives of the saints, and study of the teachings of our Church are also essential ways in which we receive the wisdom given to us by God. As you think about the many ways that are available to you to grow in the wisdom of God, try to use the Queen of Sheba as an inspiration. Do you have her same zeal? Are you willing to devote much time and effort to the pursuit of holy learning? Do you desire to journey to Jesus in the way that she desired to journey to Solomon? One of the greatest hindrances to this pursuit of holy wisdom is sloth, or laziness. It is becoming increasingly easy to engage our minds in mindless pursuits. Many people can easily spend many hours in front of the television, computer or mobile devices and waste precious time and energy. Zeal for God and the pursuit of the many truths of faith must become the cure for sloth in our lives. We must want to know. And we must do all we can to increase that holy desire within us. Reflect, today, upon the long journey made by this queen in pursuit of the wisdom of Solomon. As you do, examine whether you exhibit the same zeal that she had and how devoted you are to the pursuit of the wisdom of God. Where you are lacking, let her witness inspire you. Jesus is infinitely greater and wiser than Solomon, and we have been given full access to Him through prayer and holy learning. If you will make that holy journey to our Lord, with much determination, then unlike the scribes and Pharisees, your day of judgment will be a glorious one. My Lord of all Wisdom, You are infinitely greater than the wisest of kings and more glorious than anything I can imagine. Please fill me with zeal, dear Lord, so that I will fervently pursue You and daily journey to You. Please guide my prayer and my study so that Your wisdom and Your very Self will be bestowed upon me. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing.  If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.   Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:   Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate,  deflate. Scripture for Meditation 1 Thessalonians 1 NIV 1 Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you. 2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. NASB 1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace. 2 We always give thanks to God for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 constantly keeping in mind your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope [b]in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father, Meditation on Scripture: As I have mentioned in the past, my mom experiences a degenerative memory that is progressively worsening over time. I'm visiting with her this week. I've been thinking a lot about memory. How much of who we are is generated through memory and Where do memories reside? Some people may say the brain but does that mean if our spirit leaves our body we lose all our memories? It seems that a scriptural understanding of memory suggests that memory is maintained even when we are disembodied, as a result memory is not a human phenomenon.   I love the phrase here in this scripture, to remember before God the work of faith. Our actions in life are objectively seen by God and imperfectly remembered by us. There is a power in our attempts to remember. A powerful way to stay connected to the Lord is to constantly hold Him in our rememberance, to reflect on God's grave and love toward us.  As I was talking with my loved one I was realizing that without memory we cannot live for the future or the past, but only for the moment. We can actively choose faith in this current moment regardless of how imperfect our human memory is.  Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Final Question: If you consider the invitation and command to persevere in the faith, what change in your life does that bring to your mind?  FIND ME ON: Download my free app: Recenter with Christ Website - ChristianMeditationPodcast.com Voicemail - (602) 888-3795 Email: jared@christianmeditationpodcast.com Apple Podcasts - Christian Meditation Podcast Facebook.com/christianmeditationpodcast Youtube.com/christianmeditaitonpodcast Twitter - @ChristianMedPod

However, He rebukes them for abandoning their love for God and for one another. Jesus urges them to repent and return to the works they did at first, warning that if they do not, He will shut down their church. Yet, He also praises them for hating the practices of the Nicolaitans, which He also hates. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. It's about recognizing the story of the world versus the story of God. To be shaped by the world's story is to only see what we possess because there is no ultimate victorious ending. But to be shaped by God's story is to see the grandeur of what God is doing and the culmination of all things, which dwarfs anything that we can store up for ourselves.

This morning, Pastor Matt Wakefield delivers a powerful message on the theme: "How We War in Worship."Drawing from the rich narrative found in 2 Chronicles 20, Pastor Matt unpacks how worship is not just a passive act, but a dynamic spiritual weapon used to engage in spiritual warfare. Pastor Matt emphasizes that praise is a weapon—not one forged of human strength, but one that shifts the atmosphere and invites God's presence to move on our behalf. When we worship, we are not ignoring our battles; we are positioning ourselves to let God fight for us. Throughout his message, he outlines 7 expressions of worship—practical and biblical ways we can outwardly express our praise—and shares 6 foundational truths about praise, each pointing to the power, purpose, and spiritual authority that praise carries. He boldly declares that when praise goes first, we don't have to force the breakthrough—we simply watch God bring it. Just as the enemies of Israel turned on themselves when Judah praised, we too will see confusion fall on the plans of the enemy when we exalt God above our circumstances. In the end, Pastor Matt leaves the church with a call to live a lifestyle of worship—not just on Sunday mornings, but in every moment we face opposition. Because in worship, we don't just survive the battle—we declare victory before it even begins. The vision of Mercy Culture is to take people from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God.
