On a week that is kind of lite on actual gaming news, Sean and Marc have quite a few video games to discuss on this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX. Marc has been playing WWE 2K23, how is it compared to last year's game? What about the John Cena showcase and My GM Mode? And what's with this crazy version of the WWE roster that's in the game? Sean has also put about 10 hours into Octopath Traveler 2 and gone through several Chapter 1 stories and one Chapter 2 story, is it truly worth all the hype that it has received? Do the characters blend together better? Or is Octopath 2 really just more of the same as Octopath 1? Sean has been playing the soon-to-be-released indie title Have a Nice Death, what stands out about this Roguelike title starring the Grim Reaper? And should you check it out? He also delved into the Bayonetta Origins: Cereza And the Lost Demon Demo, and well... find out why he absolutely adores the game. Plus, Microsoft keeps making more 10-year deals, and there's a chance they will actually open the long-rumored Mobile game store in 2024 too. The guys give their final thoughts on the Last of Us HBO show Season 1, thoughts on what's to come in Season 2, and how a reported ousting at Marvel could lead to some changes too. We also have a special segment featuring our picks for some games to purchase before the E-Shop closes next week on the Wii U and 3DS.Please also go check out our fellow compatriots of the W2M Network, as the Radulich crew did a review of The Last of Us HBO Show in full as well: https://youtube.com/live/xekF9os4qxs You can also watch this episode on video via the W2M Network Youtube channel. Enough with the introductions on this big show we are doing one more discussion on the Nintendo Direct since a few of the panel wasn't on the shows earlier and then we get into our favorite games. Sean and Jens also making an interlude to talk about the Strangers of Paradise: A Final Fantasy Origin demo and the number of things they didn't really like about it. Charlie also discusses a little about Bloodborne and feelings on Souls games in general. There's also best showcase, discussing the E3 2021 in general, and also looking ahead to what E3 could be in 2022. Is it still relevant? Or we are looking at a further demise of E3 once people start going back to in-person events. There is a great conversation about this topic in here towards the end.

On this week's episode of PvA Radio, the guys talk about, not only the the biggest gaming news stories of the week, but one really important one as well. The topics for this week include: Larry's Topic - In a recent interview with Twinfinite, Xbox's Aaron Greenberg spoke about Microsoft's approach to first party titles now that they have acquire more studios, what could be shown at X019, and how Xbox Games Pass plays into their strategy at large. The guys discuss what it means for Xbox to support their "platform" and how Xbox could possibly be looking to bring their games to other ecosystems, even if they aren't interested in bringing them to other consoles directly. Luke's Topic - Earlier this year, Telltale Games was shut down unceremoniously, leaving many developers and employees without jobs. Now, two men who had nothing to do with the original Telltale Games are attempting to revive it. Luke, Larry, and Cody talk about why this move seems slimy and how gaming culture at large fails to recognize that it's people, not companies who make games. Cody's Topic - Earlier this week, developer Nathalie Lawhead published her account of rape by Skyrim composer Jeremy Soule. What followed were countless stories of other women who had been abused and taken advantage of by people of power in the games industry. The guys discuss this #metoo moment and how the industry and we as fans of games can respond in a way that can lead to actual change. Plus, Cody gives his thoughts on Control. Luke reviews Gears Pop. And Larry talks about how PUBG is finally a playable game on Xbox One! E3 2018 Roundtable discussion during the flight from LAX to MIA with the founder and Publisher of Twinfinite, Yamilia Avendaño. Danny and Peter talks about The Division Global Event.
Hey there! Welcome to episode 119 of the Curve the Cube podcast. I can't believe it's already episode 119. Thank you so much for being a listener and coming along on this journey with me. I hope you are becoming more and more of a curvist yourself, too!! This episode features a girl I am sooo excited to introduce you to, in case you don't know her, yet. She's Yamilia Avendano, a.k.a. Yami, and she founded her uber successful video game press site, Twinfinite.net, about 6 years ago. We sat down right on the heels of her coming back from E3 and had SUCH a fun time! She may seem unassuming and even a bit shy. But, don't let her fool you. She is a force to be reckoned with, and there's simply no stopping her rise to the top! On this episode we talk about how she gets creative with her video series, whether turning your passion into a career makes it feel like a job, feeling you need to do it all (but, for everyone else), and of COURSE, some of her E3 reviews. In a bit of a formatting toss-up (I warned you I would be playing a bit with the show's format for a few episodes here and there), I will be diving deep into the whole passion-feeling-like-a-job issue in a mini-solocast before then taking the topic to The Learning Curve. AND, you will be treated to a quick sneak appearance by one of my new favorite people, Glenn the Geek of the Horse Radio Network! So, just a couple of quick reminders: Please check out all the shows on the Flint Stone Media Podcast Network by going to FSMPodcastNetwork.com. After a brief hiatus (and the inevitable post-convention plague), we're back to talk about our rookie LA experiences, our favorite games of E3, Steam Summer Sale conquests, and some very important information concerning the future of Twinfinite Loop.
During this week's episode we dig into all the gaming news that has been coming out in the last few days and discuss our favorite bit of pre-E3 news that has come out so far, our predictions for E3 announcements, and answer a question from one of our listeners.
Before I began to write about video games I had a certain image of what being a video games writer was all about. Some of my long held beliefs about the people who work in the industry and how things were supposed to be done were quickly shattered when I got on the other side of the fence and saw how things really worked. This subject is what constitutes our main topic for this week. We discuss some of the things we thought we knew about what it was like to be a video games writer and compare those views to what it's actually like actually being one. Since this is the 175th episode of the podcast I wanted to make it special by having two guests. JakeJames Lugo from The Koalition and Yamilia Avendaño from Twinfinite joined us and definitely gave the show that special "pop" that I wanted it to have. I look up to these two as fellow writers so it was great to have them on the show to share some of their insights and crack some fun jokes along the way. Aside from the main topic we also discuss some of the original content posted this week including my interview with the men behind the music of Wolfenstein: The New Order and my review of Drakengard 3 (which inspired the main topic). We also talk about some of the more notable gaming news from the past week as well as list the new game releases and what we've been playing. We also have new intro and outro songs which were produced by Shawn Daley. Shawn is a comic book artist who also creates amazing chiptunes pieces. I hope you guys enjoy the new songs as much as I do. As always I was joined by my fellow staff writers Ryan Meitzler and Jorge Jimenez (who I am convinced is out to ruin my introductions for this podcast). A short sweet little episode to help kick off the summer by talking about Tomodachi Life woes and random thoughts on online gaming. Don't forget to call Andy for a good time.
Happy Monday, listeners! It's time for a new Twinfinite Loop! This week, we get pretty nostalgic with the Atari landfill, Gameboys, and Playstation Plus. It's sure to be a good one this week!
The gang is back from PAX East and discusses how the darn show actually was this year, as well as the effectiveness of the Diversity Lounge and if anything still needs to change. Plus we slap Muaz's face full of Peeps.
It's time for a new exciting episode of Twinfinite Loop, with a little bit of deja vu with virtual reality talk as well as some discussion about multiplayer gaming in the modern generation. There's some other good stuff in there somewhere too, I swear.
It's just JC and Andy this week, so get ready as we talk about some of the strangest gaming related stuff you're probably going to hear about all week.
The seasons are changing, and the girl scout cookies are coming out of their hibernation caves to be eaten by us superior humans. That can only mean it's time for a new Twinfinite Loop, wherein our intrepid heroes discuss the end of Twitch Plays Pokemon, Nintendo's new toy scheme, and the possibilities of a Minecraft movie.
On this week's show, our intrepid cast talks about Twitch Plays Pokemon, whether or not the new Smash will be worth buying a console for, and locking our loved ones in the back trunk of a car. Is it pure anarchy or democracy? You listen and decide!
This week, the gang discusses comedy games, Lego games, weird new Sonic designs, and why Charlie Day is the cutest man on the face of the planet.
