We'll also touch on how we feel about the game's narrative, which story beats stood out to us and what we thought about the wacky ending. Based on previous discussions, it seems like we have different views on how we enjoyed the game's ending, so we'll dive into this during the review.  Gameplay Let's start off with discussing Resident Evil Village's gameplay, which has mostly remained the same from RE7. Here is a great time to talk about The Duke merchant and upgrade system, the new weapons, and any standout sections of the game in terms of gameplay. We'll cover the boss battles, creature design, level design, and its scare factor. Does it feel like an action game? Does it feel more like survival horror? We discuss our favorite and least favorite sections of the game here. The Village With it being called Village, how do the Village sections actually pan out? Does the Village feel like a “character?” Does it warrant being the game's subtitle? How are these sections handled gameplay-wise and narratively?  Any other notable points During this section, we discuss any other talking points such as gripe or criticisms we haven't yet covered, or how we feel about the Mercenaries mode. The game rewards you for planning and taking it slowly, giving you ways to sneak around and disguise yourself as personnel, or even use your surroundings to make your target's death look like an accident. Gameplay Hitman 3 plays like the other games in the series -- from a third-person perspective. It features six main missions that vary in design, from one that takes place in a giant skyscraper and even a small city. You have a number of gadgets at your disposal and as you complete each mission's challenges, you unlock more items to use to take down your target(s). This creates high replay value, giving you an incentive to tackle missions in multiple ways. Certain missions have little side stories within that make them feel much more alive. Story The story in Hitman 3 takes place right after the events of the previous entry. Agent 47 is on the hunt for prominent Providence members as he seeks revenge against The Constant. His handler Diana, meanwhile, is on her own mission and her ambitions and loyalty to 47 remains unclear. The cutscenes are brief, but somehow are super engaging as 47 comes out of his robotic shell. Pieces of dialogue that you overhear also add to the narrative of each character and target that you're after. Goons, workers, and major characters all give valuable backstory that sounds natural rather than forced. They do repeat the lines at times, though, taking you out of the experience. IO Interactive are the masters of dropping lore to whoever is interested in it.  Overall Thoughts Music drops at random points.  The graphics are phenomenal, especially in Chongqing where the neon lights are reflected within the puddles.  So many ways to go about your target. It's tooled to any kind of player. We recommend going about all options.  Follow the tutorial as it's essential to figure out how to play Hitman 3 and how the systems work.  Hitman 1 and 2 passes are annoying. You need the gold edition of each game for it to work in Hitman 3.  Hitman 3 walks that perfect line between serious overtones and hilarious situations/conversations.  Overhearing possible solutions from the game's dialogue encourages you to explore.  Learn more about your ad choices. It follows a similar formula as Dark Souls, but features stark differences that make it stand out on its own.  In it, you play as a faceless character who can inhabit Shells.These Shells are one of its main features, which are sort of like costumes that all include their own unique abilities. There are four of them that are found throughout the world and you’ll want to experiment with all of them to find one that suits your playstyle.  The game’s story is as ambiguous as you’d expect with it being a Soulslike, so don’t expect a narrative that will hold your hand. You’ll find some environmental storytelling here and there, but for the most part, the main focus is on the combat. General Impressions At this point, we should discuss our general impressions of the game, without going into too much detail. We’ll get into all that further down.  Shells Here, we’ll discuss the Shells, their mechanics, and our overall impressions of them.  Harros, The Vassal -- Middleground, all around Shell. Tiel, The Acolyte -- Stamina Shell Solomon, The Scholar -- Resolve Shell Eredrim, The Venerable -- Durability Shell We’ll discuss the Harden technique, along with Shell abilities, and how the Shells work when you die.  Combat, Bosses, and Mechanics This portion will focus on the game’s other mechanics, like weapon usage, Resolve, combat (parrying), its controls, items, leveling up the Shells/weapons, the Tar system, and how the game feels, overall.  We should also discuss whichever bosses stood out to us, if possible: Imrod, The Unrepentant Tarsus, The First Martyr Crucix, The Twiceborn The Unchained Exploration of the World During this segment, we’ll discuss everything about the world, like the fog, enemies, Sesters, and the locations themselves. Fallgrim Shrine of Ash Seat of Infinity Crypt of Martyrs We’ll also talk about which locations stood out the most and what we liked/disliked about them. Final Thoughts Finally, we can cover our overall thoughts about Mortal Shell at this point before we end the episode.
