It's another Class Conscious episode of Axe of the Blood God, and we're going after the class that was elected "Most Likely to Steal your Heart and your Wallet" in high school: the Thief. Thieves have been part of the RPG landscape forever. These lithe, sticky-fingered tricksters excel at jacking stuff from enemies (and innocents) while avoiding traps and setting down a few of their own. Gosh, what a scummy bunch, right? Not exactly. Thieves do their secret work for myriad reasons, with myriad methods. We talk about all of it (along with special guest Lucas White), from the boomerang-flinging thieves of Dragon Quest to Final Fantasy VI's roguish Locke Cole, who is totally not thinking about Rachel right now. Also in this episode: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster discourse Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp is out, and war is over Live A Live is coming to PC, PS4, and PS5 and you should play it The Pantheon Thunderdome is upon us! The universe has survived another bout of Geoff Keighly's Game Awards, where the real awards are the memes mined from cynical adults' Twitter timelines. Does that work grammatically? Eh, whatever. Point is, Geoff Keighly threw a party and now there are new RPGs to talk about. Which Nadia and Eric do with the help of very special guest Lucas White. Another important topic of discussion: The overlooked RPG gems of 2022. A whole heap of games dropped way too late to get that sweet, sweet December recognition, and the Blood God crew does its best to give them a nice boost. Also in this episode: The real treasure in Dragon Quest Treasures are the Slime friends we made along the way. Holy crap! Hades II is coming! Holy crap! Chained Echoes is really good! A riveting tale of Sonic the Hedgehog and election fraud.

Matt and Geoff are joined by Jesse Vitelli and Lucas White from Prima Games to talk about writing strategy guides, both in print and online. What are the realities of having helpful info the day of release, and do you always have to love the game you're guiding?
Conventional wisdom holds that 'traditional' natural resource investments are a sure, safe bet. And justifiably so: Land, from which natural resources have been extracted, is one of the classic four factors of production. They offer diversification and inflation protection courtesy of increased pricing power when costs go up. It doesn't take much to realise the relevance of these attributes in the current environment. But here's the thing. Renewables offer all those benefits and more, according to today's podcast guest Lucas White - portfolio manager for GMO's Resources and Climate Change strategies. "The broad economy could be struggling, or GDP growth could be flattish or barely growing, but if the world is rapidly transitioning to clean energy, there's no reason why a clean energy strategy couldn't do very well." In this episode of The Rules of Investing podcast, you'll also hear why renewable energy will be taking the commodities sector along for the ride, and how GMO filter their clean energy stocks to capture outsized returns.
In this episode, Clarence and Stephen sit down with former U.S. Women's National Team athlete, current Alabama State University women's volleyball head coach, and member of the USA Volleyball Board of Directors Penny Lucas-White (8:33 - 1:01:44)! They chat about Penny's playing career on the national team and professionally. They also discuss Penny's VAST coaching career, coaching philosophy and so much more!
According to Jeremy Grantham a co-founder of GMO, global warming will be the most important investment issue for the foreseeable future. In this episode Lucas White (Portfolio Manager of the GMO Climate Change Trust) joins David to discuss their Climate Change strategy's origins, as well as its objectives and the opportunities going forward. Lucas and the team at GMO believe that climate change is among the most important investment opportunities facing investors today. Their belief is proving correct, with the fund returning 24.37% p.a. over 3 years (USD) to Nov 2021 compared to the MSCI ACWI's 15.95% p.a. over the same period. Lucas White is the portfolio manager for the Resources and Climate Change Strategies. He is a member of GMO's Focused Equity team and a partner of the firm. Previously at GMO, he was engaged in portfolio management for the Global Equity team, including responsibilities for the Quality, Tactical Opportunities, and U.S. Growth Strategies. Prior to joining GMO in 2006, he worked at Standish Mellon Asset Management and MFS. Mr. White earned his B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Duke University. He is a CFA charterholder.
