In recent weeks, I've been thinking about a few standout episodes from the early days of the podcast. They are full of great information and I thought it would be a good idea to share them again for listeners who may have missed them the first time around.A groundbreaking, authoritative exploration—rich with powerful personal stories and convincing research—of the many ways the living can and do accompany the dying on their journey into the afterlife. In 2000, end-of-life therapist William Peters was volunteering at the Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco when he had an extraordinary experience as he was reading aloud to a patient: he suddenly felt himself floating in midair, completely out of his body. The patient, who was also aloft, looked at him and smiled. The next moment, Peters felt himself * to his body…but the patient never regained consciousness and died.Perplexed and stunned by what had happened, Peters began searching for other people who'd shared similar experiences. He would spend the next twenty years gathering and meticulously categorizing their stories to identify key patterns and features of what is now known as the “shared crossing” experience. The similarities, which cut across continents and cultures and include awe-inspiring visual and sensory effects, and powerful emotional after-effects, were impossible to ignore.BioWilliam J Peters is the founder of the Shared Crossing Project and director of its Research Initiative. Recognized as a global leader in the field of shared death studies, he has spent decades studying end-of-life experiences. A groundbreaking, authoritative exploration--rich with powerful personal stories and convincing research--of the many ways the living can and do accompany the dying on their journey into the afterlife. The next moment, Peters felt himself return to his body...but the patient never regained consciousness and died. He would spend the next twenty years gathering and meticulously categorizing their stories to identify key patterns and features of what is now known as the shared crossing experience. The similarities, which cut across continents and cultures and include awe-inspiring visual and sensory effects, and powerful emotional after-effects, were impossible to ignore.Long whispered about in the hospice and medical communities, these extraordinary moments of final passage are openly discussed and explained in At Heaven's Door. The book is filled with powerful tales of spouses departing this earth after decades together and bereaved parents who share their children's entry into the afterlife.Applying rigorous research, Peters digs into the effect these shared crossing experiences impart--liberation at the sight of a loved one finding joy, a sense of reconciliation if the relationship was fraught--and explores questions like What can explain these shared death experiences? How can we increase our likelihood of having one? What do these experiences tell us about what lies beyond? And, most importantly, how can they help take away the sting of death and better prepare us for our own final moments? How can we have both a better life and a better death?
George Noory and author William Peters explore his research into shared death experiences, where living survivors experience a glimpse of the afterlife when a loved one is dying, the enlightenment and comfort they get from being at the threshold of death, and stories of angels coming to welcome the dying to the other side.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

William Peters had his close calls with death and learned that it's not the end when he was able to experrience the other side. So many are afraid of dying, yet death isn't what we've been taught. There is a life after death and the journey beyond this life is quite fascinating. There have been many people who have experienced a "shared Journey" when a loved one dies and they get to accompany them to the other side and then come back. There are so many unique experiences that people have when close to the dying. William's book, "At Heaven's Door", is a deep look into the phenomenon of this and addresses many aspects of spiritual presence we can all share in the death journey. Listen to this profound interview with William about what can exist "beyond the threshold"

The next moment, Peters felt himself return to his body…but the patient never regained consciousness and died. Peters then spent the next 20 years searching for and researching other people who'd shared similar experiences - what he calls a "shared crossing." Listen in as I interview Peters about his new book, At Heaven's Door, which provides powerful stories of shared crossings, as well as explores why this phenomenon happens and what lies beyond death.

What do you believe happens after we die? Or what about at the moment in time when someone crosses over? What if you could take part in the experience of a loved on crossing over? Today, our guest is William Peters. He is an end-of-life therapist. In 2000 he had an out of body experience as a patient was dying. "The more I spoke with individuals who had experienced a shared crossing event, the more I also noticed repeating patterns. A woman in West Virginia and a woman in Australia with deeply similar experiences around the loss of a baby. A grown daughter in California and a grown daughter in Pennsylvania; a woman in Alabama and a man in Spain. None had met, yet each spoke a common language. Again and again, I found that this moment of shared connection that they had experienced also changed their lives and how they chose to live them in unexpected ways. It provided insight. It provided closure. It made end-of-life decisions easier. It eased grief." Shared Death Experiences. This week I am talking to William Peters about his book, 'AT HEAVEN'S DOOR: What Shared Journeys to the Afterlife Teach About Dying Well and Living Better'.William J Peters is a practicing grief and bereavement therapist, he holds degrees from Harvard's Graduate School of Education and UC Berkeley. He is the founder of the Shared Crossing Project and director of its Research Initiative. He is recognized as a global leader in the field of shared death studies, he has spent decades studying end-of-life experiences. A groundbreaking, authoritative exploration—rich with powerful personal stories and convincing research—of the many ways the living can and do accompany the dying on their journey into the afterlife. The next moment, Peters felt himself return to his body…but the patient never regained consciousness and died.Perplexed and stunned by what had happened, Peters began searching for other people who'd shared similar experiences. He would spend the next twenty years gathering and meticulously categorizing their stories to identify key patterns and features of what is now known as the “shared crossing” experience. The book is filled with powerful tales of spouses on departing this earth after decades together and bereaved parents who share their children's entry into the afterlife. Applying rigorous research, Peters digs into the effect these shared crossing experiences impart—liberation at the sight of a loved one finding joy, a sense of reconciliation if the relationship was fraught—and explores questions like: What can explain these shared death experiences? How can we increase our likelihood of having one? What do these experiences tell us about what lies beyond? And, most importantly, how can they help take away the sting of death and better prepare us for our own final moments? How can we have both a better life and a better death?https://www.amazon.com/At-Heavens-Door-Journeys-Afterlife-ebook/dp/B0984PD615/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1642760847&sr=8-1https://www.sharedcrossing.comhttps://www.patreon.com/pastlivespodcasthttp://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/the-past-lives-podcast

Having been a seeker of information on all things spiritual, I have read a lot, listened to many podcasts and had my own experiences in the realm of what can not be seen by our physical eyes. HOWEVER, until I came across William Peters and his book, At Heavens Door, I had not heard of the Shared Death Experience. I was aware of NDE's or near death experiences, where someone who has been extremely ill, or been in a horrifying accident, leaves their body, sees the great white light and then returns to their body knowing they still have lessons to learn or teach in the here and now. In fact, my own mother had an NDE when I was about 12, she was having surgery to remove a tumor and left her body watching the surgeons operate. This seemed normal to me. That's how I was brought up!However, a shared death experience was a new concept for me. It is as it sounds, where someone accompanies a soul as it leaves its body on to the next plane of existence, and yet they are still a living, healthy human. It is really fascinating and William Peters has written his book about what shared journeys to the after life teach the living about dying well and living better. William is a global leader in shared death studies and has spent decades studying the end of life experience. After he experienced two NDE's, worked in Hospice and with Aid's patients and many other near dying, he began the exploration into SDE's. These extraordinary moments are recounted in his book, discussed and explained. He gives us great reasons about how and why they occur and how they can help us live a better life. William is a practicing grief and bereavement therapist who holds degrees from Harvard and Berkeley. He is compassionate, warm and just a super kind and interesting human. I absolutely know you will learn something from this episode that will help you appreciate your life. I am grateful to William for sharing his knowledge with me, us, and I am grateful to all of you for listening. Perhaps this episode will resonate with you or someone you know. The Shared Crossing Project prepares people for a conscious, connected, and loving end-of-life experience at any stage of life.
Episode 27 The journey continues as the boys at Geology on the Rocks team up with Mario, from and the Fall In 360 Podcast, to discuss all things Geology and War. Our discussion begins with what defines a continent. Seriously, what defines a continent? Are there 5, 6, 7, or even 8? What we do see is some of the divisions are geopolitical and available resources have been the cause of many conflicts and wars through human history. NaCl, Halite, or Salt has been at the epicenter of many skirmishes throughout human history and is even believed to be the reason we call our annual wages a salary. Texas even had salt wars! Nickel was at the heart of the Continuation War in Finland. But, are humans the biggest commodity? Between the bars, we present to you another Mineral Minute brought to you by the paladium bismuthinide, Froodite. On the back half of the episode we discuss a little about physical geology and the battlefield and a lot about various elements and mineral deposits that are used in various equipment and munitions. And, don't forget about the William Peters. In between it all, we discuss military stories from our past. We close things out with war songs in the ever so fun That Freaking Rocks segment. Be Cool. Stay Tuned. And Keep It On The Rocks! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/geology-on-the-rocks/support
