Welcome to a bonus episode of Heroes of Noise. This is our longest Patreon episode yet. It may actually be our longest episode period. Definitely top 3. So what you're about to listen to is our spoiler-filled coverage and review of Zack Snyder's Justice League. We're joined by Melissa Sloter from the Wild Pretty Things podcast and Still Great, Bob?: A Mad Men Podcast, Amanda Albers and Quinton Taylor Roberts from The Reel Zodiac podcast, and friend of the show Kevin Mcknight. There is actually a video that goes with it but that will come later. Much like Justice League there are two versions of this. One is of the entire video conversation. The thing is, there was a ton of crosstalk due to audio/video lag and consequently some of what was said by certain individuals may be hard to hear. But it is the entire conversation and is worth watching just to see Melissa's mind get blown on numerous occasions as she dives head first into the DCEU. Getting back to the crosstalk, I couldn't let all these wonderful people not get their points out just because I was too lazy to correct it. That's the good thing about recording with multiple tracks. They come in super handy if you want to put in some work. I went in and cleaned it up a bunch so the people could be heard as they were meant to be heard. So in a way, I guess you can consider this "The Ramirez Cut". I'm currently in talks with HBO Max but more on that later. This episode is LONGER than the Snyder Cut. Think about that for a second. Thing is we probably could've kept talking for hours. No joke. We had such a great time with our guests and hope to have them back very soon. Thanks to everyone that joined us. And now, without further ado, please enjoy Patreon Episode 24 - Zack Snyder's Justice League (aka The Ramirez Cut). Private screening room is opening to a deep look at power imbalances on both sides of the gender aisle in this special episode! Melissa from Wild Pretty Things and Still Great, Bob? Comes on to do a deep spoiler breakdown of the F/X show A Teacher. Who was the true villain? Does aggression reveal guilt or is grooming a powerful tool used on the young? Find out! Stick around for a spoiler filled chat about Carey Mulligans Promising Young Woman? Does the ending make this revenge tale lose its steam or does it elevate it to something more? Check it out, leave a review and listen to Melissa's two above mentioned podcasts. I do not own the rights to Oh Baby by LCD Soundsystem or the creepy Toxic cover but they are great.
Welcome to a bonus episode of Heroes Of Noise. As a little holiday gift to the HON Community we're making this Patreon episode available to the public. In other words, there's no paywall so feel free to enjoy it. If you like what you hear, please consider supporting Heroes of Noise on Patreon. Now then, let's get to those show notes: Hey it's Dan. Welcome to Episode 19! On the last Patreon episode of 2020 we bring in friends of the show Melissa Sloter from Wild Pretty Things podcast as well as Spoiler Steve from Scene-it Cast to review "Wonder Woman 1984", which dropped on Christmas Day in theaters as well as HBO Max. Before we get down to business we spend a little time catching up on the recent holiday, I talk about how I almost burned my house down on Christmas night, Steve and Melissa do the MGK discussion that had to happen, as Steve has gone at him pretty hard in the past. No offense to my partner in crime, but I do love that Melissa gives it right back to him when he goes at MGK. Spoiler Steve is also a favorite when it comes to debating movies with us and that's why we love having him on. All in all... great guests. WARNING: When we get to WW84, we don't break it down scene by scene, but you should be aware that we do spoil the shit out of it. So if you haven't watched it yet it's probably best to skip this one until you do. Mostly because of spoilers, but opinions fly like gnats on this episode so we'd hate to be responsible for any bias we may cause. 2021 is here and we now have our bearings. Let's do things right this year so that we can once again celebrate socially with no threat or stigma. It's time for an HON meetup and there's no way that's happening until we get back to normal. It's been said close to 180 times, but now more than ever we need to be good to ourselves and be good to the people around you. Happy New Year *Podcaster's note: This is the last episode we'll be recording with Zencastr. I wasn't very happy with the sound on this one and the lag was terrible so I had to edit more than I cared to. In fact, I've never been happy with Zencastr but it did come in handy at times. Going forward we'll be utilizing Riverside FM, which is a similar, but better quality podcasting platform whenever we're joined by guests. It will also give us the capability to live stream and take calls -ins from our listeners. More on that later. These 2 are pros and we had so much fun talking with them. The conversation we had was all over the place in the best way. Some of the topics discussed are as follows: Coronavirus has really lowered our standards for what we get excited about Putting your foot in it Cookout safety precautions post corona Fan Fiction Liquor Science Bad weed experiences Childbirth and all that potentially can come with it Is it an affair if it’s VR? The dark side of Tiger King and why we’re over it Steve's bidet experience Of course this is just a sample of where our conversation went. We wrap things up with a review of the new Chris Hemsworth movie "Extraction", now on Netflix. We really can't stress how much fun we had talking with these 2 and we think you'll understand why by the end of this podcast. Time to get to it. Enjoy!
