Greetings, Citizens! Dan Here.  Welcome to the first of 2 episodes that you'll be getting this week. On Episode 119 Steve is out and I sit down with returning guests Joe Stark from Starkcast and Leftover Brian from Pop Culture Leftovers.  This was actually going to be a bonus episode as we were only planning to talk about one particular movie but we ended up talking about 5. Before we get to the main event, Brian and I briefly talk about the documentary "Miss Snake Charmer" (Now on Amazon Prime Video), All 3 of us have seen "The Old Guard" starring Charlize Theron (Now on Netflix), Brian and I also talk about "Palm Springs" (Now on Hulu), as well as the 2014 movie that came from out of nowhere called "The One I Love" (also on Netflix and starring Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass). Now I want to take a moment to personally thank Brian and Joe for  doing me a solid and entertaining my sick idea to review Harmony Korine's 1995 breakout film "Kids". If you're not familiar with the premise of "Kids" here it is: Kids is a 1995 American coming-of-age drama exploitation film directed by Larry Clark and written by Harmony Korine. It stars Leo Fitzpatrick, Justin Pierce, Chloë Sevigny, and Rosario Dawson, all in their film debuts. Primarily set during the course of one day, Fitzpatrick, Pierce, Sevigny, Dawson, and other newcomers portray a group of teenagers in New York City with hedonistic behavior toward sex and drugs during the mid-1990s. 2 Warnings: "Kids" is a very graphic movie that deals with some uncomfortable subjects and we definitely get into that. This is also a spoiler filled review so if you haven't seen it and plan to, you might want to consider coming back to this one after viewing. Lastly I want to publicly apologize to Rod Claerbout, cohost of Number One Comic Books, for being an absolute shit head and referring to him as "Dustin". I literally have no idea why I spaced out on your name and again, I apologize. Trust me that Brian and Joe let me have it when I said that. (This wasn't my best hosting job. I admit it) Brian, Joe, and Rebekah Dahling  also host Number One Comic Books and I highly recommended that you listen to their podcast. Its super entertaining and informative. One might say it's edutainment, but they'd probably get ridiculed by Brian.  I'm only half kidding when I say that. I'll stop with the rambling and let you get to it. We'll be back later this week with Episode 120. Until then, peace.   Be sure to vote for Pop Culture Leftovers in the People’s Choice and TV & Film Categories at podcastawards.com.  Heroes of Noise Podcast Contact and Show Info: Website: www.heroesofnoise.com Email: HeroesofNoisePodcast@gmail.com Show Twitter: @HeroesofNoise Facebook: Heroes of Noise Podcast Instagram: @heroesofnoisepodcast Listen to our other podcast  The Word: The Unofficial PREACHER Podcast Contact Info: Email: askthewordpodcast@gmail.com Twitter: @Word_Podcast Hosts Twitter: @DanQPublic, @SE_Hudsonmusic Facebook: The Word Podcast Website: www.heroesofnoise.com

Welcome to Episode 117! This week we're joined by Joe Stark from  Starkcast and Number One Comic Books. Joe is a great conversationalist and much like Starkcast where the conversation flows freely, we also let it all flow out (You'll learn some things today. That's a guarantee). Here are some of the topics discussed on this episode: An ode to a bass and trombone The Creek of Sin When and how we discovered porn The Best weed movie Our first time getting high Psychedelic experiences / Bad Trips Religon Joe needs to audition for "Alone" As far as what we've been watching or reading, in classic HON form we gabbed almost the entire episode. We did do a lightning round of reviews before we talked about the movie we all watched this week. Here's how it breaks down: Steve watched America To Me (Now on Hulu) Joe has been reading the New 52 Batman comics by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo Dan has seen a screener for Unsolved Mysteries (July 1st on Netflix) as well as Season 2 of Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone ( Now on CBS All Access), as well as Holy Moley S2 (Now On Hulu) Joe and Dan talk  Floor Is Lava (Now On Netflix) as well as The New Joseph Gordon Levitt film "7500" (Now streaming on Amazon Prime Video) All 3 of us watched "You Should Have Left" starring Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried (Now on VOD) That's the show, Ladies and Gentlemen and if you don't mind us saying so we think it's a pretty entertaining one. Hopefully you'll have as much fun listening as we had recording it. Time to push "play" and meet Joe if you don't already know him. Spoilers: You'll love him.   Greetings Citizens! Welcome to the second show this week (Yes, we know we didn't get one out last week but just go with it). This week we're not alone as we're joined by Rebekah Dahling from The Animated Batcast, Number One Comic Books, Multiple appearances on Pop Culture Leftovers, and she's also the cohost of the Picardcast, which focuses on the brand new series on CBS All Access.   Listen in as we talk about the art of good Mac and Cheese, what happens when there's too much Jägermeister involved, The Nancy Drew situation at Dynamite comics, The problem with Batman these days and our expectations for Matt Reeve's "The Batman", Tips for a new comic reader, and a 90s pop culture quiz for Rebekah (Note: There is a factual error in this quiz on our part. Can you find it? Email us at heroesofnoisepodcast@gmail.com and give us. your answer) Lastly we give our thoughts on Sam Mendez new movie 1917 *We normally don't include our ratings in the show notes. Rod Claerbout, my co-host on Number One Comic Books, and I spend the first thirty minutes of this episode discussing the documentary Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers. This documentary is available on Netflix and if alien cover-up government conspiracies are your thing, this is definitely for you. For the more skeptical-minded, the documentary sheds light on the lengths the government will go to discredit a person that is supposedly telling a fabricated story. We had a great time talking about this documentary as well as Bob's recent podcast appearance on JRE. Google it. Everything after that is random conversation. If you're here for the doc-talk this is your exit point. I'm serious. I talk about climbing rope at one point. And it wasn't brief. I spent way too long talking about climbing rope. Anyway, this is episode 67 and I'm talking to one of my favorite people! Don't forget to double-check your knot. That's a serious thing, but it could also be like metaphorical, man.
