This episode is about our time on Disney Cruise Line and their ship, Disney Dream. I learned that the boarding process at Miami is smooth and efficient, with luggage tags sent in the mail to help port attendants get luggage on the ship. The ship offers plenty of fun activities, and the kid's club is secure with a safe word used for pick up. The staterooms are small, but have a steward to help with tasks and turn down service. The ship provides plenty of food options with three main dining restaurants with two seatings and a buffet area. The rotational dining allows for consistency with the same wait staff and special touches like Kennedy's booster seat and milk cup. At "My dream is a wish your heart makes" - Disney Cruise Line In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. What is the process of boarding a Disney Cruise Line and what should travelers be prepared for? 2. What are the features of a Disney Cruise Line stateroom, and what tips can be given to maximize the experience? 3. What is the experience like when dining on a Disney Cruise Line, and what unique features does it offer? Be sure to subscribe to the podcast by clicking here. Liked what you heard? In this episode of Kasey's Korner, I chatted with Kristen Duke, a mentor for parents of teenagers. She helps them to see that they can control their emotions and have fantastic relationships with their teenagers if they're willing to recognize the personal blind spots we might have. The episode is about the importance of confidence in teenagers. Kristen Duke learned this first hand by talking to her kids and other parents. Duke says that parents need to learn to control their emotions and not take their frustrations out on their kids. Kristen also says that it's important for parents to listen to their kids and give them the space to share their thoughts and feelings. "You can't control your teen, but you can control yourself." In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. The importance of controlling one's emotions when parenting a teenager 2. The need to change the negative narrative around teenagers 3. In today's episode, we are providing proof that there is no need to compare or compete when it comes to finding your place in podcasting and in parenting. I teamed up with fellow podcast host Kaila Maguire to do a very cool crossover episode. Check it out! Kaila is a teacher turned stay-at-home parent who currently lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and son. After going through pregnancy and the fourth trimester Kaila started Parent Tell, a podcast dedicated to sharing all types of pregnancy and parenting experiences, but particularly those that are not yet discussed enough in the mainstream. Pregnancy and the fourth trimester were very isolating, jarring, and just plain sucky at times for Kaila; a lot of this had to do with the fact that she simply didn't know what she didn't know. Movies, tv, and most friendly conversations about pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting barely scrape the surface of what life is often like during such a transformational time. Kaila didn't want birthing people and new parents to feel the way she did, and so Parent Tell was born on November 6, 2020. Through her podcast Kaila provides a safe and inclusive space to parent and tell about it. It is Kaila's hope that candid conversations about birth, postpartum, and the mental load of parenting, to name a few, will help to normalize the often hard to discuss realities of raising a child, resulting in more support, grace, and acknowledgement for parents. In her spare time Kaila enjoys supporting new parents with a listening and empathetic ear, dancing in the kitchen with her family, and smashing the patriarchy any chance she can get. The toddler mom recently became a certified birth educator and is now offering birth classes through her new venture, Not Your Mama's Birth Class. Classes are available in person (in the D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia area) as well as virtually! Kaila is excited about these classes as they are honest, detailed, and aim to empower birthing people and their partners. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kaseyskorner/support

I sat down with Sarah Neill, CEO and Founder of the body positive fashion app called Mys Tyler to get the scoop on why she developed an app that was clearly missing from the fashion industry! What is Mys Tyler™? Did you know around 91% of the clothes we buy online aren't a good fit? We suspect it's because 91% of us don't share the same body as the online models. This means up to 40% of clothes will end up being returned, with many more banished to the back of the closet. That's why we created Mys Tyler, a platform that lets you discover fellow women of a similar height, size, shape and more, so you can see how an outfit will fit on YOUR body. Think of our Contributors as your own fashion body doubles who are actively trying on clothes, styling them and showing you where to buy them. If it looks good on them, it will look great on you! By helping you find clothing that fits you EVERY time, you'll save time, the industry will reduce returns, and less clothes will end up in landfill. Wins all around! Being a stay at home mom for the past year has filled me with an overwhelming amount of guilt. Guilt of not contributing to my family, guilt of not being a working mom, guilt of not doing "the daily grind" or the hustle, or finding work/life balance. I built an imaginary narrative in my head that there were certain expectations that I was not meeting and therefore constantly filling my days with errands and DIY projects and home organizations so I could see a tangible reward for my efforts. I know a lot of you have felt the same way, especially after I posted this video on Instagram. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kaseyskorner/support

What started as almost a clean sweep of nearly 50 pageant victories from age seven in a small Texas town quickly evolved into seven seasons in Orlando on the Disney Channel's wildly popular The All-New Mickey Mouse Club in the late ‘80s well into the ‘90s, which Jennifer describes as a sort of “‘Saturday Night Live' for kids” featuring interviews, skits, variety show-styled razzle dazzle, and of course, loads of singing. A quick internet search shows her performing alongside a slew of internationally renowned stars, and throughout a real time conversation, she just as casually mentions how Michael Jackson used to visit the set as a major fan of their show or the time when Celine Dion helped calm her nerves prior to an inauguration performance for President Bill Clinton at the Kennedy Center. Join me as I chat with Productivity & Purpose Coach, Kelli Hayes Smith about how to prioritize, set healthy boundaries and not feel the need to “do all the things”. More about Kelli from her website: HEY Y'ALL, KELLI HERE. JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL LIVING IN FANTASY LAND. I married my high school sweetheart, I'm a mom to a married 20 something, a teenager, & a preschooler – all boys. I love all elastic wasted pants, believe no outfit is complete without fuzzy socks, am obsessed with coffee mugs, and speak fluent Gilmore girl. If you ring my doorbell (or my DMs) & I don't answer – I'm probably just out for a run, cruising the Target dollar aisle, waiting for a jolt in the Dunkin drive thru – or – my personal favorite… Walkin' right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A. Now let's talk about me. I went to school to be a scrub tech, and while I love being in surgery – the schedule did NOT suit the lifestyle I wanted to live. By being away from my family more than I was home, I was watching too much of their lives on facetime and wasn't there nearly as much as I wanted to be. I had my last baby in 2018, and I never went back to the hospital after maternity leave. But I KNEW I had to do something for myself. So I took my side gig of planning Disney vacations, and turned it into a full time job. And it was going well. I mean I LOVE Disney World so that should make me happy right!? Well, I mean yeah – kind of. And I coasted with that for a couple years. I was with an agency that provided limited training in systems + socials, so I was left to figure it out all on my own.. and when 2020 shut down all of travel… I found out it wasn't planning travel I loved… it was creating content. I've worked in the online space since, with multiple different business types – helping with systems + socials… but I always attracted Travel Professionals more than anyone else. And that's what I love doing! I'm thankful for the time I spent in the general online entrepreneurship space – I learned so much goodness I can bring back to the travel industry. In 2022, I've decided to serve only travel professionals, by offering… Social Media Management Social Media Start Up VIP Days Instagram Audits You can also find me as an expert at Careers on Vacation working with the amazing team travel industry expert, Cyndi Williams has assembled.
