We begin with the Antikythera Mechanism, an ancient device pulled from a Greek shipwreck that behaves like a ghost in the archaeological record. This intricate system of gears could predict eclipses, planetary movements, and cosmic cycles thousands of years before such knowledge should have existed. Some believe its creators were guided by lost knowledge, celestial beings, or even spirits of ancient astronomers who understood the universe far better than we do today. Was this device a tool… or a message from a forgotten intelligence? Next, we explore the haunting mystery of the Atacama Humanoid, a tiny six-inch body discovered in the Chilean desert. With an elongated skull, unnerving facial features, and bones aged far beyond its size, this being has sparked whispers of alien hybrids, interdimensional entities, and spirits bound to the land. Locals in the Atacama have long spoken of "star people" and desert guardians—was this discovery physical proof of those legends, or something far more unsettling? From the desert, we descend into darkness at Lovelock Cave in Nevada, where ancient legends tell of red-haired giants known as the Si-Te-Cah. Oversized tools, massive footprints, and burned remains suggest a violent end to these towering beings. Paranormal researchers believe the cave may be spiritually charged, possibly haunted by the restless spirits of giants who perished in fire, leaving behind echoes that still linger in the stone. The mystery deepens with the Voynich Manuscript, a centuries-old book written in an unrecognizable language and filled with illustrations that feel more dreamlike than earthly. Some psychics claim the manuscript carries residual energy—that it was created through automatic writing or channeled knowledge from nonhuman sources. Is it a spellbook, a coded grimoire, or a guide meant for minds not yet ready to understand it? We then turn to modern mystery with the Montauk Monster, a bizarre creature that washed ashore near a location infamous for secret experiments and paranormal lore. Was this an undiscovered cryptid, a biological experiment gone wrong, or something that slipped through from another realm? Its sudden disappearance only adds to the fear that we weren't meant to examine it too closely. Throughout the episode, Jen and Joe also touch on other eerie discoveries—the Baghdad Battery, impossible maps, ancient tools trapped in stone—each one whispering the same chilling message: history is not what we've been told. Making Money Minute with Ron Hiebert - Concentration & Returns Diversification in a portfolio is important because it spreads your risk across many assets and lowers exposure to any one of them. The problem, is you seldom get market beating returns owning dozens or even hundreds of securities. Oversized gains require concentrated portfolios. For example, Bill Gates has a 50 billion dollar investment portfolio. 79% of it is in only 4 stocks - Microsoft, Waste Management, Berkshire Hathaway and Canadian National Railway. The stocks high quality lessens the risk, but the concentration danger that goes hand in hand with oversized returns is still there.

We have all been witnesses to moments in history. But there are people in every community who go a step further by working to shape what happens next. Minnesota Now's series, Out to Lunch, is a chance to get to know some of those influential neighbors. MPR News host Nina Moini recently met up with longtime activist T Williams at Soul Bowl, a restaurant inside the V3 Sports health and wellness center in north Minneapolis. He has lived in the neighborhood since moving to Minnesota in 1965. That year, he became director of the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center. After riots broke out on Plymouth Avenue in 1967, he helped set up the Minneapolis Urban Coalition, a group of corporate leaders, local politicians and community members created to work on poverty and racial inequality in the city. Now, Williams is sharing a record of his long career advocating for people of color in Minnesota. He wrote a book with co-author David Lawrence Grant. It's called “Rewind: Lessons from Fifty Years of Activism.”

The truth is, we are all about big antlers and always have been. And, that's okay. I'm sure whoever figured out they could use ochre to leave a record of their successful hunts on the walls of caves thousands of years ago didn't care much about public perception. Oversized...

They discuss common problems like hot and cold rooms, the myths around heat pumps, and why right-sizing equipment matters. Drew explains how heat pumps have improved and how to pick the best one based on home size, ductwork, and local climate. They also cover hybrid setups, electric backups, and simple tips to avoid overworking systems and keep indoor air comfy and efficient. Drew Tozer explains how many homes have rooms that are too hot or too cold because of wrong HVAC sizing. He shares why heat pumps are a smart fix when sized right and how older myths make people avoid them. Drew says most homes don't need gas backup and that hybrid systems help when ductwork or power panels are limited. Gary shares job stories showing how right sizing and good planning improve comfort. They both agree that knowing a home's needs and choosing the right system can lower costs, save energy, and keep homes more comfortable year-round. Here, Drew explains how many HVAC systems are too big for the home, which causes hot and cold spots and short run times. Like using the right shoe size, right-sizing heat pumps helps keep comfort steady. He says heat pumps now work well even in cold places, and hybrid setups help when ductwork or power is limited. Gary shares how proper installs and load checks made big comfort changes. They remind techs that smaller, well-planned systems run better, save energy, and avoid problems like noise, bad airflow, and early breakdowns. Expect to Learn: Why do many homes have hot and cold rooms year-round? How oversized HVAC systems cause poor comfort and airflow. Why modern heat pumps often don't need a gas backup. In this short podcast episode, Bryan answers a listener-submitted question about oversized evaporator coils, particularly when they're half a ton or a full ton larger than the condenser. The expanded performance data contains the information that'll tell you whether the coil is right for the system. However, when it comes to the specific issue of oversizing, there is a common misconception that coil size affects the saturated suction temperature. The truth is that they're not related; you could fully insulate different-sized coils and move the same amount of refrigerant, but they will behave similarly. The saturated suction temperature (suction pressure, evap temperature) is driven by the heat entering the system. Coils are designed to handle refrigerant flow rates and airflows, so having a lower airflow over a large coil allows for greater cooling due to the bigger surface area, lower bypass factor, and dwell time. When more heat enters the evaporator coil, the saturated suction temperature increases, but some of that heat enters as latent heat and helps with dehumidification. However, a larger coil also takes longer to get colder, and the superheat settings become more important. You have to be careful with lower face velocities across the evaporator coil, as laminar flow isn't as good at transferring heat as turbulent flow. That is one of the limitations of using a larger coil with lower airflow. If the expanded performance data has a rated match for a larger coil, then that same data will also contain information about the required airflow. Testing in and testing out is also important.   Have a question that you want us to answer on the podcast? Submit your questions at https://www.speakpipe.com/hvacschool. Are you a minimalist packer or do you pack more than one outfit per day? It can be an endless tug-of-war between what you know is right and what you know is, well, you.One item of apparel that's often caught between two worlds is the humble graphic hoodie. What makes the ultimate travel hoodie?Packing for a vacation can be a struggle between wants and needs. What clothes do you want to bring and what clothes do you need to bring? When you're standing in front of your packing pile, deciding what makes the cut for your next adventure, does a hoodie feel like a must or a miss? If you think a hoodie's a must, it's probably because it's soft and versatile. Your favorite hoodie has been with you through everything from long-haul flights to late-night walks back to your hotel. But not all hoodies are created equal—especially when you're packing light and traveling far. (Do you know the history of the hoodie and how it was invented?). But hoodies are also big and bulky items. It's particularly challenging if you're trying to keep your luggage to a minimum. Whether you're on a two-week European vacation or spending a week at Disney World, no one wants to bring more baggage than they need to.The good news is that style and comfort don't have to be at odds when it comes to travel hoodies. With the right travel hoodie, you can have both. Let's talk about what makes the ultimate travel hoodie—and why your go-to might need an upgrade. Why a Hoodie is a Travel Must-Have ItemBefore we get into style, let's talk practical function. To put is simply, the hoodie is the Swiss Army knife of your travel wardrobe. It's a built-in blanket on freezing airplanes and chilly train rides. It's an extra layer when the weather turns or the sun sets faster than expected. It's low-maintenance. No ironing, no fuss, no worries. It fits every vibe—airport runs, café lounging, sightseeing strolls, theme park visits and even spontaneous hikes. In short, a good hoodie keeps you warm. A great hoodie keeps you looking cool while doing itWhat Makes a Hoodie Travel-WorthyThere are the five things that we look for in a good travel hoodie:1. Fabric That Breathes (and Doesn't Bulk Up)If you're wearing a hoodie, you want that unmistakable cozy factor, but without sweating through airport security. Watch for midweight cotton blends that feel soft but don't trap heat. Bonus if it has a brushed interior (can you say softness?) and holds up to multiple wears without getting baggy.

Today, we are joined by a special guest: Christine Nelson! Christine is a fellow tall woman whose mission is to help women dress with confidence. And as a tall girl herself, she is hoping to do that for the tall girl community too! As a tall woman, styling can be challenging beyond just finding clothes that fit. Proportions play a huge role—tops that should hit at the waist may land too high, dresses might feel too short, and pants are often not long enough. Even when clothing is the right length, the way it drapes on a taller frame can be different from how it was designed to look. Oversized pieces can overwhelm, while certain cuts that flatter average heights may look unbalanced on our bodies. Accessories, like belts and shoes, also impact the overall look differently, requiring more thought into how to create cohesion. And then there's the societal pressure—tall women are often told to "tone down" their height, leading some to avoid heels or statement pieces that draw attention. Styling as a tall woman isn't just about putting together an outfit; it's about navigating proportions, confidence, and the limited options available in mainstream fashion. And our guest Christine is here to provide some expert advice about how tall women can dress to impress and feel good in their own skin through fashion! When it comes to versatile, stylish and practical clothing, few things can compete with the ever-popular hoodie. And if you're a traveler — especially someone who frequents magical destinations like Disney parks or other unforgettable places — graphic hoodies are more than just a cozy staple, they're an essential part of your travel wardrobe. Wardrobe Game-Changer: Nine Reasons Why Graphic Hoodies are the Ultimate Style HackWhy a Collection of Graphic Hoodies in Your Wardrobe is Better than OneThe nine things you haven't considered when it comes to the humble hoodieWhile owning one graphic hoodie might seem like it's enough, let's look at why having a small collection of graphic hoodies is not just a fashion statement, but also a very functional and fun way to enhance your vacation style and comfort.1. Style That Matches the Mood and DestinationDisney travelers in particular know that your outfit should reflect the magic of your day, whether it's strolling down Main Street, hopping on your favorite ride, or capturing Instagram-worthy moments in front of Cinderella Castle. Each hoodie in your collection should tell a different story.Having a hoodie collection means you can:Rotate hoodies to match the mood or theme of your day (perfect for Disney parks or other destinations where each area has its own vibe).Pair a hoodie with different outfits for fresh looks, whether it's a travel morning at the airport or an evening watching fireworks by the castle.Stay comfortable in varying weather conditions—hoodies layer well with jackets in colder climates or provide just the right amount of warmth during a breezy evening.Having multiple options ensures you're always dressed for the occasion while staying comfortable.2. Functionality for Every Kind of WeatherGraphic hoodies are the ultimate travel companion because they're versatile. With a hoodie collection, you can really cover all bases:Lightweight hoodies are perfect for warmer days or layering during chilly mornings.Fleece-lined hoodies keep you cozy during colder months or in overly air-conditioned shops, buses or planes.Oversized hoodies offer a relaxed fit for long travel days or lounging at your hotel.Even in a light rain or the start of a rain shower, a hoodie is a great item to have—pull up the hood and head for cover.By ensuring your wardrobe has different hoodie types and styles, you'll always have the perfect hoodie for the forecast, no matter where your adventures take you.3. Practicality Meets PersonalityYour wardrobe reflects your personality and a variety of hoodies lets you showcase different facets of who you are. Whether you're channeling your inner magic or proudly sporting designs inspired by your favorite travel destinations, your collection can serve as a wearable scrapbook of your passions and adventures.Plus, graphic hoodies are conversation starters. A fellow Disney traveler might notice your subtle Disney hoodie and strike up a conversation, making your travels even more memorable.4. Stay Fresh on Long TripsLet's face it—travel can be messy. From the inevitable coffee spill on a flight, to dripping ice cream in the heat of a ride line, having just one hoodie on hand isn't always practical. A collection of unique hoodies allows you to rotate through styles, so you always look (and feel) fresh without overloading your suitcase.5. Collect Memories, Not Just HoodiesMany graphic hoodies are designed to commemorate experiences or are inspired by events or activities. A hoodie purchased to celebrate your first park visit, another from a beloved travel destination, and one featuring your favorite travel mantra can all serve as keepsakes. Over time, your collection becomes a reflection of your journeys and the memories you've made.6. Practically Perfect for TravelersTravelers know the importance of packing wisely. Graphic hoodies serve as the ultimate travel companion for several reasons:Versatility: They work for multiple occasions, from a morning coffee run to an adventurous theme park day.Cozy for transit: Whether you're on a plane, train or bus, a hoodie doubles as an extra layer or even a makeshift pillow.Photogenic: Hoodies with unique designs make your travel photos pop, ensuring your memories are as stylish as they are magical. When you own a collection of several different hoodies, you'll always have a hoodie ready for your next adventure, perfectly suited to the destination and experience.7. Versatility Beyond TravelFor the record, your hoodies don't have to stay in the suitcase. They're just as perfect for running errands at home, grabbing coffee with friends, or relaxing with a beverage and snacks to watch a movie. A collection of hoodies ensures you're not always grabbing the same hoodie, which keeps your wardrobe fresh and fun.8. A Hoodie for Every MemoryDo you attach sentimental value to any pieces of clothing? A collection of graphic hoodies allows you to attach sentimental value to each one. One hoodie might remind you of your first visit to Disneyland, while another brings back memories of a whirlwind European trip. Each design tells a story, and over time, your collection becomes a wearable memory wall of your adventures. And the best part? You can relive those memories every time you slip one on, whether you're lounging at home or exploring a new destination.9. A Hoodie for Every Member of the FamilyIf you're traveling with friends or family, coordinating hoodies can be a fun way to add a little magic to your adventure. Matching tees are one thing, but picture your group sporting matching Disney-inspired hoodies or each person. They don't have to be all the same, but within the same theme or color. It's a fun, easy way to bring the travel party together and stand out in classic vacation photos.Ready to Build Your Hoodie Collection?A single graphic hoodie is great, but a collection? That's where the magic truly happens. With multiple options from graphics to color, you'll never be stuck with a single look or vibe. Instead, you'll have the freedom to express yourself, celebrate your travels and stay comfortable no matter where your adventures take you.At 1923 Main Street, we specialize in graphic hoodies that cater to Disney travelers and adventure travelers alike.
