He discusses the company's focus on being “enterprise-first” and “BaaS-first,” and why doubling down on core fundamentals like responsiveness and relationship-building outpaces flashy strategies. We unpack how Veeam builds teams ready for their next role, how partner-led success is embedded in everything from hiring to promotions, and why simplicity in execution is often the most powerful differentiator. Whether you're building channel teams, scaling partner programs, or simply want to hear from someone shaping what excellence looks like in the channel, this one's not to be missed.Connect with Alex: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alex-walsh-31b3aa60/_________________________Learn more about Channext

Alex Walsh is the author behind the hit historical fiction book series, the Marquess House Saga. In Alex's books, she has built what I consider to be the historians dream, with a compelling and fascinating story in which a pair of sisters find their lives overturned and directly tied to significant periods of history. Consisting of dual timelines, Alex's series has reimagined the stories of some of histories most infamous women, telling alternative tales of the lives of Catherine Howard, Elizabeth I, Arbella Stuart and Jane Seymour, all of which, whilst fictitious, are plausible and so rich in detail that you can't help but think, I wish this was all true! She joins me today for a fascinating discussion about her work, her inspiration, how she came up with the series and much much more!

SwimSwam sat down with World Champs medalist Leah Hayes after her superb weekend of racing at the 2023 Chicagoland Championships, highlighted by her 4:03.05 400 IM. Hayes said she was hoping for a drop in that event and even wrote her target splits out for the race, which had added up to a 4:04. Hayes also discusses training with her world champ teammates at the upcoming National Team Training Camp in March as well as the prospect of racing fellow 200 IM international medalists and future Virginia teammates Kate Douglass and Alex Walsh.
Last year Kate Douglass and Alex Walsh won every event they swam at NCAAs. Alex went on to win the World Title in the 200IM last summer, and Kate raked gold medals at the World Short Course championships in December (Alex won her share there too). Superstars of swimming, Kate Douglass and Alex Walsh head into the college championship season ready to carry the momentum into perhaps a 3rd straight championship for the Virginia Cavaliers. Kate Douglass and Alex Walsh share about their versatility in swimming seemingly any event and how differently they train from one another even though they are teammates. Kate and Alex also recount their epic 200 IM battles from the 2020 Olympic Trials and the Tokyo Olympic final, tell us about their NIL experiences, and lament being teased about middle names. Enjoy!
What if legendary ophthalmologist Don Gass, MD, had access to both optical coherence tomography (OCT) and artificial intelligence? One can only imagine the breakthroughs. Alex Walsh, MD, CEO of Envision Diagnostics and a retina specialist at Retina-Vitreous Associates in Los Angeles and vicinity, wants to bring Gassian interpretive capabilities to everyone in eye care. His company's product, a binocular OCT with the potential to image the entire eye, could enable physicians and technicians to get objective, comprehensive data in six minutes. No waiting, no moving from room to room. The device performs many of the functions of a routine eye exam, including slit lamp and dilated fundus exams, reducing the visit time from hours to minutes. Dr. Walsh says the device brings clinical trial–level data to every exam, which is something eye-care professionals should be demanding. “We spend three times as much on labor as we do on devices, and we accept it as the cost of doing business,” he tells OIS podcast host, Retina-Vitreous Associates' colleague and OIS Podcast host Firas Rahhal, MD. “The linear model of a routine workflow is clearly inefficient.” Listen to the full podcast today to hear Dr. Walsh and Dr. Rahhal discuss how automation can transform the eye exam and how a binocular OCT can bring objective, quality data to eye-care professionals everywhere. Here's what they cover: The advantages of an all-in-one diagnostic device for optometrists and ophthalmologists. The intellectual property and funding challenges that prompted Dr. Walsh to launch his product outside the academic environment.Early concepts of the Envision device and how it evolved into its current iteration. The proposed regulatory pathway for Envision's OCT and what preliminary tests show. How lean manufacturing processes inform the Envision diagnostics philosophy.Whether entire-eye binocular OCT could influence a wave of new, more effective treatment options. The potential of automated diagnostics to improve the quality of data used for analysis, and what needs to change to make Big Data work for eye care. What's next: AI as a diagnostic tool.Click “play” to listen.

With the 2021 Women's NCAA Championships on the horizon, University of Virginia head coach Todd Desorbo sat down with the media to preview the meet. We asked about UVA's event lineup choices for 2 of their more versatile stars, Kate Douglass and Alex Walsh. For both swimmers, DeSorbo said the event choices came down to what they wanted to swim and what events excited them the most. Douglass will be taking on the 50 free, 100 fly, and 100 free while Walsh will swim the 200 IM, 200 free, and 200 breast. DeSorbo also emphasized the importance of his team staying loose and having fun while not forcing good swims. DeSorbo recalled that at the 2020 ACCs, the 200 medley relay squad had a year-long goal of breaking the US Open record in the 200 medley relay, but with the weight of that goal on their shoulders all year, the squad fell short of that time at the championships. This year, DeSorbo told the same squad to simply relax and have fun, and they ended up breaking the US Open record.

Do you have an awesome idea for business? An idea is a good start, but the challenge is executing on that idea and taking the first few steps. Today’s guest will help you take your first step. Stacey Ferreira is an incredible entrepreneur – who, at the age of 24, has already founded two successful companies (and sold one) – and co-author of 2 Billion Under 20: How Millennials Are Breaking Down Age Barriers and Changing the World. Founding Two Businesses Before 25 In 2011, Stacey Co-Founded My Social Cloud, an SSO company whose investors include Sir Richard Branson, Jerry Murdock, and Alex Walsh. In 2013, My Social Cloud was acquired by Reputation.com, where she worked before going back to college. She is currently the CEO of Forge, an enterprise scheduling software that empowers employees to pick the hours that they work at retail and restaurant locations across the U.S. Dropping Out of College to Run a Business Originally, Stacey was running My Social Cloud and going to college. After her Freshman year, it was clear that she had to choose between running the business full-time or the investors replacing her. She dropped out, and she doesn’t regret the decision at all. It allowed her to grow the business and, ultimately, be the youngest female tech entrepreneur to successfully make an exit. Forge While working on 2 Billion Under 20, Stacey noticed a trend in a lot of the new jobs being created: people have flexible hours, and the specific hours they work aren’t important as long as the job gets done. But Stacey saw a hole in the market. 58% of the American population works a traditional hourly job. So how can those people experience the same flexibility? Most of these people work at a specific location, so the only way they can get flexibility is through the hours they work. Stacey believes that this flexibility in hours is a macro trend that will only increase, and she’s capitalizing on it early. Day-to-Day Operations A lot of the first year was pitching and financing. After securing financing, they had to hire engineers to make the software a reality. Since then, 90% of her time is spent doing product management: making sure they have the right product-market fit and everyone on the team is aligned with the same goals. The rest of her time is spent doing customer development and sales. That means marketing campaigns, events for small businesses in localized areas, customer support, and demos for larger clients.
