In this episode of right brain rounds Dr. Muller discusses her new book, The Ottava Method of Self-Coaching, as well as a new group coaching program for physician women, the LadyDOx Boss Academy. The Ottava Method is a book that describes Dr. Muller's philosophy of coaching and achieving goals. The method is rooted in musical, business and self-coaching principles, and can help ANYONE achieve goals. It was originally written with the physician women in mind, but after much contemplation it became a guide to help people achieve success in any field and in any aspect of life. Ottava is an Italian musical term that means “octave.” The term “8va” directs the musician to take the written music in a score up an octave, and the book is all about how people can “8va” their career—and their lives! The LadyDOx Boss Academy is an 8-week group coaching Mastermind for physician women that is based on the Ottava Method of self-coaching. It will be led by Dr. Muller and will meet weekly to review each step of the method with the guidance of a certified physician development coach (Dr. Muller) to help! Here is a link to register for the course, which starts the week of October 2nd!Link to learn more about the LadyDOx Boss Academy: https://attractwell.com/Ottava/page/ladydox-boss-academy

Running a business is a long and often exhausting journey and one of the key components to success is sustainability. In today's episode, I am chatting with Suraya Nikwan, an accredited practising dietician and nutritionist, and the owner of The Bariatric Collective. Suraya helps her clients who've experienced weight regain after bariatric surgery to build an enjoyable nourished life without dieting through her one-to-one consultations, group programs, podcast and online courses. She joined the Run Your Business Like A Boss Academy to learn how to transform her business to serve more patients, work less hours, overcome compassion fatigue and scale up. Suraya made a breakthrough in her business when she did the online business audit in the academy and discovered that her business values didn't align with her personal values. This realisation led her to make changes to her business model that freed her up to be available for her family while still running a very successful and fulfilling business. One of the most important things we explore when creating a sustainable business model is finding your business North Star. This is the guiding principle that will help you to make decisions and stay focused on your goals. It's so important to have a clear idea of what your business mission, values, and vision are so you can design your business model with these at the centre. Suraya talks about the power of being part of a group coaching program where you can benefit from the support, accountability and community of other members. Working with others and being held accountable can help to create breakthrough moments and make positive changes that will help your business grow.Suraya's story is a perfect example of how taking action and staying accountable can help you reach your goals. He's still the ceo and he's doing a lot of the creativity. It's a lot to manage, and that's where burnout happens. That's where stress happens. Keys to being a good leader: listen with empathy, have compassion, be vulnerable in a way that allows you to relate. Remember YOUR journey. Today’s talking point: 2020 is wrapping up and a lot of people are talking about goal setting and what they want to achieve in 2021... I know madness, right? Before we even get there, I wanted to touch on something that my Busy to Boss Academy students really love right now: the law of attraction. Mindset is such a big part of the work I do in my business. Yes, my business has grown because of strategy, but also because I use the law of attraction. This tool, this way of thinking, and this lifestyle has helped me achieve a lot of the things that I thought were absolutely impossible. So today I’m diving into where I start with mindset work. And surprise: the law of attraction is already working for you. Let’s get ready to boss it. Today’s talking point: I recently had a launch for The Busy to Boss Academy, and I had a conversation with someone who was on the fence about applying who said: “I've invested in all of these programs, all of these courses, I'm listening to all of these podcast episodes, I'm watching all of these YouTube videos, and I'm not getting anywhere, I'm not growing.” Now, this comes up a lot. And I bet you can relate to this. So if this is you, this is probably what no one else is wanting to tell you; or maybe you just don't want to hear it... The reality is that you are the only thing stopping yourself from actually succeeding. Because anyone can listen to the experts. Anyone can follow the gurus. But the people who become leaders take action. And the thing that's really difficult about taking action is that you have to get out of your own way. Let’s get ready to boss it. You can't access the promise without the process. What do you do why you wait? What happens when you try to help God? We discuss all of this on the post. The scriptures this week are Gen. 25:21-26; Gen. 37:10; and 1 Sam. 16:12-13. Song of the week "...Lost" by Andy Mineo @andymineo (IG). People often ask me how I learned what my purpose was. Prior to building a relationship with God and starting the Proverbs 31 BOSS Academy, I had a business. It was a good business but not a GOD business. The more I fell in love with God, the more He began to show me who I was and gave me the boldness to walk it out. This is a reassurance that I seek from Him daily. My guest Tiffany Bethea dive deeply into walking out your purpose today. Our scripture of the week is Psalm 37:8 and the song of the week is "Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury. Meet my guest Tiffany at the Proverbs 31 BOSS Conference next month. Entrepreneur's can manifest success, but they muat know how. The human mind is powerful beyond comprehension, but it also built around a common truth which leads to human limitations, which often explains the failures many business people experience. Our brain is designed to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Fortunately, we have the ability to override the instinctual nature and gain control. The language we use to describe ourselves and the associations we make to pain and pleasure hold the key. What does a lemon have to do with this? You'll have to listen to find out. Differentiation doesn't always mean you're selling something that no other company offers. Selling something no one else does could help you corner the market, only if people really want what you're selling. If you are the only one offering it, then you have to convince people why they need what you have. Competition is not a bad thing, but if you only promote yourself as another "me too" marketer or, as I call it, a mimic, then you're always going to have to compete on price. Don't be afraid to dig deep and find what sets you apart. Maybe it's your approach to customer service. Perhaps it's the systems that make it easier for clients to work with you. Differentiation is a 360 degree view and one that requires thought and action to make an effective process. You can stand out, but it may require you to invest time in really analyzing what makes you a great resource. For a video of this episode, visit https://youtu.be/tBLBvsa8Zbs. External issues are easy to solve, as an entrepreneur. Buying new software, hiring a consultant, taking a training course... These are just a few of the examples of solutions you can apply. Internal struggles, on the other hand, are much more of an issue. Self-doubt, procrastination, distractions, negative thinking, and many other internal struggles can limit success more than anything. We explore the topic of "resistance" and why it can be your friend or enemy. The book, The War of Art by Steven Pressfield is a game changing book for the entrepreneur who has faced their own "brick wall" or major resistance. In those moments, resistance can serve to motivate, if you recognize it for what it is, or can serve to derail. Often the entrepreneur will abandon projects, which might otherwise have been successful, simply because the resistance served to demotivate, disguising itself as reasons why the project should never have begun. EVERY entrepreneur faces resistance. It's what you do with it that matters. Winners know that you must stay focused upon a clear mission and direction, allowing nothing to derail the projects(s) required for success. When self-doubt creeps in, you must go back to plan review and recalculation, silencing the voice of doubt and replacing it with clear action items. Come out to BOSSAcademy.com to learn more and to follow us on our mission to provide entrepreneurs with real Business Ownership Success Strategies. Stop trying to be "like a BOSS" and let us help you be the best boss you can be. In fact, let BOSS Academy be the last boss you'll ever need.
Where your focus goes, energy flows. A phrase made famous by Tony Robbins... It's also really a clear message that says we have the ability to create or destroy virtually anything. How you focus your energy can determine your mindset. That mindset can be what gets you to a goal or leads you to give up. For a video of this epsiode, visit: https://youtu.be/2RBGUbLN9sI. Starting your day with a reminder of what you have to be grateful for can pave amazing paths for you. It's hard to be stressed and depressed if we're focused upon our blessings. Often our mindset goes toward the negative, which creates limiting beliefs and major hurdles. Being an entrepreneur is not an easy job, so finding ways to create momentum and success is critical. The world needs the entrepreneur to succeed. Keep checking in at BOSSAcademy.com to find your own Business Ownership Success Strategies (BOSS). Let BOSS Academy be the last boss you'll ever need. When I've volunteered and given back, supported people, mentored college students, it's amazing how this really pays off. On the other hand, when I'm focused on just trying to make money, I’m losing sight of the big picture.”

If you've ever felt like you struggle to thrive in your competitive market, it's time to tune in and turn your business on. Veronica Yankowski is a professional photographer who seeks to satisfy higher-end clients. With amateur photographers having access to low-cost, high-quality cameras and other digital equipment, people like Veronica find that they are facing an ever growing sea of competition. Learn how Veronica has learned to pick and choose the clients she wants at a fair price-point, opting to say no to some of the business which does not fit her business model. A key to success as an entrepreneur is learning when to say no to business that is not a fit. Business leadership often involves setting boundaries. What boundaries are you setting? When are you saying, "No"? As an award-winning photographer, Veronica L Yankowski knows how to tell a story in a single frame. In 2005 she left the newspaper industry after 11 years and applied her dramatic documentary style to portraiture, which opened new creative possibilities for her work.
