Meet Brian Galke, the Introverted/Extroverted professional who discovered the secret to success: Good Communication Skills. In order to overcome his social anxiety, Brian intentionally pursued positions where people naturally came to him for help (Retail, Service Industry, Helpdesk, etc). With every job, he sought to improve his social skills through learning tips and tricks to interact with others effectively. As Brian's communication abilities grew, so did his career. Each new social skill he acquired brought him another promotion, leading him to leave the Helpdesk to become a Corporate Trainer, move into Sales, and even be flown around the US to present to high-profile clients worth over $1 million. Eventually, he was promoted to the esteemed position of Regional Vice President of Sales with a $40 Million Dollar book of business. Brian left the corporate world to teach this skill to audiences on stages alongside renowned industry leaders such as Janine Driver, Brad Lea, Steve Sims, Greg Reid, Alex Hormozi, and more. But what was the one skill that changed everything for Brian? The ability to decode facial features. By learning how to interpret the subtle signals that people's faces give off, Brian was able to better understand and communicate with others, which in turn helped him succeed professionally and personally. Welcome back to another episode of the True Fiction Project Podcast! I was intrigued to speak with face reader and introverted extrovert, Brian Galke. Brian brings us along his journey from working behind the scenes in the helpdesk field to how he became a public speaker. He has perfected the art of reading faces, which has propelled him forward through connection and successful personal and business relationships. He discusses the facial features to look for when talking with someone to uncover the best way to interact with them. At the end of the episode, enjoy the short story, How to Human 101, by Parker James, where we follow an alien in a human body trying to learn the art of face reading.   IN THIS EPISODE:  [1:35] What is an introverted/extrovert?   [2:55] Where and how did Brian pick up face-reading skills?  [4:45] How did Brian move from the helpdesk to a public speaker?  [7:29] How can Brian read someone's eyebrows when they change them (pluck, tattoo, etc.)?   [9:13] Does the ability to read faces propel you forward in the potential of working successfully with someone?  [10:56] What happens when facial features change?   [14:20] Brian shows his experience working with people via face reading.  [17:30] How do we focus on the next person when so many of us only want to focus on ourselves?   [19:16] How is Brian teaching the millennial generation, who don't generally communicate face-to-face, to be comfortable in face-to-face situations?   [24:02] The short story, How to Human 101, Written and Read by Parker James  KEY TAKEAWAYS:  Your face is constantly evolving. The left side is the personal side of your face; the right side is your external or professional side. As things in your life change, your facial features can naturally change.  Face reading is all about letting people feel seen and heard. If you attempt to speak someone's language, you will be treated differently and build better relationships.      Fiction Credits:  Short story written and read by: Parker James  BIO:  As an Introverted/Extrovert, Brian purposely chose professions where people came to him for help (Retail, Hospitality, & Help Desk) to help ease his social anxiety.  Over the course of his career, he realized he loved to learn new tips and tricks to better interact with people, and he always sought out the knowledge. With every new social skill, another promotion soon followed. He was onto something…maybe success starts with good communication skills.  The #1 skill that changed his Personal & Professional life forever was learning Facial Feature Analysis. That skill alone led to Brian's growth from working the help desk to Regional Vice President of Sales, not too bad for someone who still considers himself to be a bit of an Introvert.  Wanting to help people achieve that same level of success, Brian created Subtle Skills (subtleskills.com) and began speaking/teaching Facial Analysis around the world.  Brian Galke LinkedIn  Brian Galke Facebook  Brian Galke Twitter  Subtle Skills Facebook  Subtle Skills Instagram   Subtle Skills Website  Books mentioned in the episode:  What Every BODY is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent's Guide to Speed-Reading People by Joe Navarro  You Say More Than You Think: Use the New Body Language to Get What You Want!, the 7-day Plan by Janine Driver Our Sponsors:* Check out HelloFresh and use my code 50truefictionproject for a great deal: https://www.hellofresh.com/Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

He was constantly trying to pick up a new tip or trick to better interact with people. But the number one skill that changed his life was learning facial feature analysis. Brian is one of less than one hundred people in the world who is certified in facial analysis, and one of the few who teaches these subtle skills for an enhanced life. Welcome, Brian. Brian Thank you. Marlana So, I'm just going to let you dive right into it. And you tell us what we can learn from somebody's face? Brian Sure. I'll start with how I found this. And because it's a learned skill, that's the number one thing. When people see what we're going to cover today, everybody thinks, oh, this was something that you just came up with, or something that you're born with. And it is not. What happened to me is in 2011, I met a gentleman, and he read my face and I was immediately blown away because like you mentioned earlier, I'm kind of an introverted extrovert, and I love to be around people, but I was terrified of being around people at the exact same time. So, if you see my maroon bookcase over here, that's one of my bookcases. And it's full of books, like How to Win Friends and Influence People body language books, and LP books, you name it, because while I felt like I belong around people, at the same time, I felt like I didn't belong. And I lived a lot of time in the prison in my own mind, because I was overthinking everything. And when I met Mac full for heat was a quick, funny story. Somebody was in town for a trade show. And we were supposed to go to dinner, and she called up to cancel on me and I just sat down at dinner. I'm like I'm stain. And she's like, no, you have to come meet this guy. I said no, I've already got my glass of wine. I'm staying here. Do you know what, thanks for bailing? She said, Trust me come and meet this guy. I went over there, and he read my face, and everything was so accurate. I immediately was like; how do I find this out? It turns out, he lives 40 minutes away from me. And so, I spent time over the next year, he would get to have a get together twice a month, where you could go and learn about different facial features. And then he has a certification as well. I was instantly hooked. And I convinced one of my friends to do it with me so that when we went out in public, we could make it a game, and talk to everybody and what the true power of it all is, it got me out of the prison, my own mind into the present moment. And that's where my teaching people today is. If you have concerns about...

Subtle Skills has not only helped organizations but also people improve their relationships with friends, family, and coworkers. In the past, he has held positions as a Sales Executive, where he was part of a strategy team that would travel throughout the U.S. to give demonstrations to multi-million dollar key accounts. Not too bad for a guy who began his career on a help desk, and only took the job to avoid in-person interaction. Brian noticed as he spent time expanding his social skills through books, classes, and coaching, professional promotions followed. His desire to keep improving led to nine poignant career moves in fifteen years. These opportunities have allowed him to engage in various industries, including finance, health care, e-commerce, telco, automotive, and government.
