At the end of this message Prince Handley will take Communion with YOU. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “It is the Passover sacrifice of the Lord, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.”Torah: Exodus 12:27 When He (Yeshua) had given thanks, He broke it [the matzo] and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ COMMUNION LOOKS BACKWARD “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” ‒ 1 Corinthians 11:25 During this last Passover supper with his talmidim (disciples) the Lord was instructing them to carry out this observance as a reminder that He was the real Passover Lamb. Looking back not only at the first Passover in Egypt, but more importantly, that He was the Passover who the next day would carry the sins of the world on the cross-stake. The New Covenant would be established and replace the Old when His blood would be shed. THE NEW COVENANT “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” NOTE: See links at the bottom of this message for teaching series on the Passover. COMMUNION LOOKS FORWARD “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He returns.” ‒ 1 Corinthians 11:26 The Lord told them He would NOT take part in this supper with them again until He returns to establish His Kingdom on earth. “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” ‒ Matthew 26:29 COMMUNION LOOKS INWARD “Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” ‒ 1 Corinthians 11:27-28 MIRACLES ARE AVAILABLE IN THE HOLY COMMUNION WHEN THE PRESENCE OF CHRIST IS DISCERNED “For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep [are dead].” ‒ 1 Corinthians 11:29-30 NOTICE This passage is telling YOU that many people could have received their healing … but as a result of NOT discerning the Lord's body (not meditating on and thinking seriously about) Messiah's broken, beaten body AND His shed blood on the cross-stake … they did NOT appropriate healing. They continued in sickness or disease (even mental) … and some even died due to NOT discerning the Lord's body when they could have been healed! They did NOT take advantage of healing during the Lord's Supper! WE SHOULD EXPECT MIRACLES DURING THE LORD'S SUPPER I was invited by a well-known radio DJ in the Youngstown, Ohio USA area to preach at an outdoor meeting at Austintown Fitch Football Stadium. We had a crowd nearly the size of the Billy Graham Associates' previous meeting with virtually NO advertising other than Johnny's promos on his radio show. Johnny had recently been saved and enjoyed sharing his testimony on the radio. Johnny Kay was a super representative for Christ in his personal life as well as his public life as a DJ on radio. Before the meeting started I was on the inside of the track praying. I noticed two men in wheelchairs on the other side of the track near the stands. I thought to myself, "I wonder what decision those men will make tonight?" When I gave the invitation, one of the men in wheelchairs, named Jim, rolled forward across the gravel track to the inside of the football field (or, was rolled forward) and made a decision to follow Christ. [Plus a long haired hippy counselor led seven (7) Roman Catholic Nuns to Christ.] After the outdoor meeting at the Austintown Fitch Football Stadium I was conducting a seminar for two days for Dr. Len Evans (a Presbyterian pastor) at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church in Niles, Ohio USA. At the end of the first day I asked for volunteers to fast with me for the next day's meeting as I was going to teach on healing. Several people fasted and in the last two hours of that next day I taught on healing. The man named Jim who had come forward in his wheelchair was attending the seminar I was teaching. Jim had been in the wheelchair nine (9) years due to TWO conditions: 1. He had been in an auto accident where a semi-trailer truck ran into him and broke his spine in several places; and, 2. He had Multiple Sclerosis. During the last day of the seminar Jim walked out of his wheelchair (for the first time in 9 years) during Holy Communion. During that seminar a well known band named “The Glass Harp” played for me with their leader, Phil Keaggy. They had just released an album titled “Synergy” (which was a tag for drugs); however, after they saw Jim walk out of his wheel chair they never played for the world again. Phil went on to be used in large music ministry festivals. Two years later, Jim gave his testimony in a large Presbyterian church somewhere in the area and several hundred people fell out of the seats under the power of the Holy Spirit. Thanks to the provision―the opportunity―to receive HEALING and MIRACLES as we take part in the Lord's Supper … as we discern His body ,,, many people have received God's blessings. You can, too! COMMUNION LOOKS OUTWARD After Jesus was raised from the dead, and right before He ascended back into Heaven, He came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you [including the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion]; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ‒ Matthew 28:18-20 God's Kingdom is manifest on earth by YOU. You are His agent NOW. How BIG are your prayers? Are you including every nation, tribe and language? If you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you have the POWER and AUTHORITY to bind and to loose inJesus' name. You have the power and authority―in Jesus' name―to operate in prophetic prayer. The Holy Spirit is always anointing the NEW ORDER: those who are operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues. You will NOT rifle through the demonic forces in the heavenlies if you do NOT know HOW to pray in tongues, the language of the Holy Spirit. Do NOT be fooled. If you want to be on the “cutting edge” of contemporary works of the Holy Spirit, you need to operate in His Gifts and speak His language. Study this Model of Discipleship. One young man I prayed with for the Baptism in the Spirit, and later ordained into the ministry, personally led over 170,336 people to Messiah Jesus in (one-on-one) evangelism in 32 years! Read the influence Larry Beckmann had on those he discipled and the results of those he trained for the Lord. If you are a musician or Psalmist, allow the Holy Spirit to anoint your music whether the form be classical, alt-rock, pop, country, blues, Hip Hop or Indie. People should be healed and experience MIRACLES while listening to Spirit anointed music. The Holy Spirit is God's Agent on earth to supply the resurrection power of Messiah Jesus! However, the MAIN reason is that the LORD wants to give you a message for direction, protection or enablement. And, sometimes―if not many times―the message will be for someone else. Some people may NOT be able to listen to―or discern―the voice of the Spirit. Or, they may NOT want to listen to the voice of the Spirit due to rebellion or living in sin. Therefore, the LORD may send you a message via His Spirit to relay to the other person. In my experience the message is usually given for specific knowledge in an area where help or advice is needed: in my life or in the lives of others. The principles of God are timeless and transfer … and if we are students of God’s Word and have the knowledge of Proverbs we are able to navigate the problems and challenges of life. But when situations arise that are not clearly and specifically defined―as in ministry strategy or spiritual warfare or dream interpretation―then we need a “specific” word from the LORD. Many people read the Holy Bible, but they are NOT listening to the Holy Spirit. God wants us to apply His Word to our lives. This is where listening to the Spirit brings success, victory and accurate direction. ________________________________________ LISTENING TO THE SPIRITDIRECTION AND HELP~ A MIRACLE PODCAST PRODUCTION ~ INTRODUCTION “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.” – Jesus: John 16:13 One of the Holy Spirit's assignments is to glorify Christ. When you receive direction, help and enablement, Christ is glorified in your victorious life and testimony thereof: by your word and your lifestyle. The Holy Spirit guides you into ALL truth; spiritual, business, family, prophetic, physical, travel and relational truth. Many people read the Holy Bible, but they are NOT listening to the Holy Spirit. God wants us to apply His Word to our lives. This is where listening to the Spirit brings success, victory and accurate direction. As you become attuned―skilled―in listening to the Spirit, you will begin to notice that sometimes shortly after you receive a message you will experience a confirmation. For example, [I recently had this happen] if you receive a message about advice you would give a person, that person may contact you not long after and ask you for advice concerning the same (not knowing that you have already heard from God concerning them or their situation). EXAMPLES Sometimes listening to the Holy Spirit will be synonymous with the gift of prophecy. For example, one time after a large seminar I was conducting in Chicago a lady came up to me and said, “I have two wombs …” I had already finished praying with people and I was really wanting to go to the place where I was to stay and go to bed. When the lady said, “I have two wombs …” my first thought was, “I must have preached past the anointing.” (I wanted to be anywhere but there.) What the lady said in full was this, “I have two wombs. If I conceive in the one womb the life will live, but if I conceive in the other (womb) the life will die. Do you have a word for me?” Instantly―without thinking about it―I said to her, “You will have a son. He will live, and his name will be Samuel.” When I was in Chicago about a year later I met little Samuel. In similar manner, listening to the Spirit may sometimes by synonymous with the Word of Knowledge. For sure―if you operate in the gifts of the Spirit like Prophecy and the Word of Knowledge―you definitely need to be listening to the Holy Spirit. Study my book, How to Receive God’s Power with Gifts of the Spirit. But there are times that God wants to give you a message for yourself and it may be just for reflection, or to meditate thereon. He may want you to think about what you would do in a certain situation that may be coming up in the future and you do NOT know about it yet―or, the complete details have not dovetailed together yet―and may not for quite some time. PURPOSE OF LISTENING You have to realize that God is for you. As in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the motive for listening to the Spirit should be to edify, improve, deliver, make whole or provide intelligence. Thank God, He did not leave us here without the tools and weapons we need to operate in power and victory … and especially as we progress into the End Times. Realize this: we are at the entrance to the End Times. If the Early Church―or Messianic Synagogue―needed the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the five fold ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher as laid out in Ephesians 4:11, how much more do we need them today? And, how much more will the followers of Messiah Jesus need them as we progress further along into the End Times. PREREQUISITES TO LISTENING We need to start our day with the Word of God. We need to be students of the Word of God. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17) So the Word of God is the channel through which the activities of the Holy Spirit operate. When we have the Word of God in us―and operate based upon the Word of God―we hear (from God … from His Spirit). And when we hear from God, faith rises and MIRACLES happen. But remember also, this is all predicated upon love. “Faith works by love.” (Galatians 5:6) The Word of God is the channel though which faith flows, and love is the activator which triggers faith. HOW WILL YOU KNOW If you are living for God, then give God the benefit of the doubt. I have seen many MIRACLES since I learned to give God the benefit of the doubt. If you're NOT sure the message is from God, then check to make sure it does NOT conflict with Scripture. If it does NOT conflict with Scripture, then ask God for a confirmation that is clear and concise. NOTE: If you are “seasoned” in listening to the Holy Spirit then you probably won't require a confirmation. We should NOT be surprised that the LORD works this way in addition to His many other modes of communication. We read of Him doing this throughout Bible in both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the Brit Chadashah (New Testament). God has NOT changed. “For I am the LORD; I do not change.” (Malachi 3:6) It's people who have not changed that corrupt His program. People who have never seen healing will tell you that God does not heal. People who have never seen miracles will tell you that MIRACLES do not happen anymore. People who do NOT believe in Apostles or Prophets operating today will tell you that those offices ceased after the Early Messianic Synagogue. However, to say that would be to prove ignorance―or, folly―as that would mean that the Scripture in Ephesian 4:11 has been rescinded: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.” No more pastors, teachers and evangelists either! GOD WANTS TO COMMUNICATE Also, realize that the LORD wants to communicate with people more than we do. And, He does NOT want his messages of direction and help to be cryptic or hard to understand. It amazes me how many people have never read the Holy Bible completely. Here's the greatest communication to mankind and they treat it like a magazine. My friend, get the Word inside you and YOU will begin to hear God. Start your day with it and end your day with it. I made a rule for my life years ago: “No Bible … no breakfast.” The day is coming when the world government and the world religious system will destroy Bibles … including YOURS if you're still here. Then YOU will need to listen to the Spirit … and it may be too late. The Holy Spirit will guide you into ALL truth as you listen to Him. Also, BEWARE of the following: As the Holy spirit is being poured out upon all flesh, the enemy of all righteousness, Satan, will once again try to “control” the End Time prophetic and evangelistic movement by his agents: “people conquerors” in the Body of Messiah. Don't worry about “wild fire”―I would rather have a little “wild fire” than NO fire at all! Plus, persecution is coming to the REAL believers from other “Christians” and from the government. To help prepare you for NEW creative works and to help you watch for―and be aware of―things to come, I am going to zero in on the following: Mashiach, Metrics and Miracles. MASHIACH The mashiach was descended from King David (Jeremiah 23:1-8). The mashiach is often referred to as "mashiach ben David" (mashiach, son of David). He will, of course, be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments (Isaiah 11:2-5), because He is the Son of God. He will be the deliverer who will win battle of Armageddon for Israel when He returns from Heaven in the clouds. He will be a great judge, who makes righteous decisions (Jeremiah 33:15) during the 1,000 year Millennial rule on earth. But above all, He is the Son of God: who was born of a virgin by a miracle and gave His life for the sins of the world as both the Scriptures and the Ancient Rabbis testified. Where many Jewish scholars make a mistake is that they think the Mashiach will be a great political and military leader. This is what will deceive them in the End Times. Here is basically what most “religious” Jews believe concerning the Messiah. It has been said that in every generation, a person is born with the potential to be the mashiach. If the time is right for the messianic age within that person's lifetime, then that person will be the mashiach. But if that person dies before he completes the mission of the mashiach, then that person is not the mashiach. He will be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments. He will be a charismatic leader, inspiring others to follow his example. He will be a great military leader. The above are the “marks” of the false Messiah: the anti-Christ. And, this is what will deceive many Jews at the same time the New Global Governance allows them to rebuild their Temple in Jerusalem. The Prophet Daniel tried to warn Israel ahead of time concerning this. (Tanakh: Daniel 9:27). This is also paralled in the Brit Chadashah in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 “But in connection with the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah and our gathering together to meet him, we ask you, brothers, not to be easily shaken in your thinking or anxious because of a spirit or a spoken message or a letter supposedly from us claiming that the Day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For the Day will not come until after the Apostasy has come and the man who separates himself from Torah has been revealed, the one destined for doom. He will oppose himself to everything that people call a god or make an object of worship; he will put himself above them all, so that he will sit in the Temple of God and proclaim that he himself is God.” [Complete Jewish Bible] Another major “missing piece” in most religious Jews understanding of the End Times is their lack of resources concerning the specifics of End Time conflicts. Particularly their lack of comprehension concerning the difference in the Ezekiel 38-39 conflict and the Battle of Armageddon. These are two (2) separate events. This misunderstanding is mainly due to only consulting the Tanakh and NOT resourcing the events described in the Book of Revelation inthe Brit Chadashah (the New Testment). In adddition, Israel will also have a KEY ENEMY―a greater enemy than Iran or ISIS―with strategic architectural and spiritual plans against her: this will be her nemesis, Babylon the Bitch. METRICS Yes, metrics are important in End Time ministry. You need to monitor and measure your effectiveness in ministry. True … not ALL the Holy Spirit does through you can be seen. Inner workings in the hearts and lives of people, answers to prayer that happen in far away places, prophetic decrees taking effect―being birthed―in nations and people groups and other “under the radar” operations of the Spirit may NOT be known to you now … or, possibly ever. However, some of what you are doing for the LORD may be measured. For example, I know that last month on one of my websites 5% of the hits were from Beijing, China. I also know that recently on one of my podcasts the downloads spiraled up so high that on one day alone the downloads were 14 times the monthly average. I investigated to find what caused that so we may use that information in the future for the LORD. Metrics are only as important as you make them. It's funny how a child will say, “I'm five and a half,” but you never hear a grown person saying, “I'm 52 and a half.” Be a good steward of the ministry God has assigned you. “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and attend to your herds.” (Proverbs 27:23) Speaking of metrics, never underestimate the power of a Gospel tract you hand to someone … especially if you have just talked to them about Jesus. One of the people the LORD honored me to ordain into the ministry was Reverend Larry Beckmann. Larry kept a log of how many people God allowed him to pray with and who received Messiah Jesus as their Saviour for 32 years. During that time he personally prayed with 170,336 people to receive Christ. In one city alone (Atlanta, Georgia), 60,347 people prayed with him to receive Christ. And, in just a five year period, one married couple Larry trained in soul-winning, in Atlanta, prayed with an additional 8,000 people to receive Christ. If you are NOT experiencing MIRACLES, study How to Know God and Receive Miracles… AND …Receiving Miracles for the Impossible Work.And, do NOT forget the ministry of the Holy Angels whom God has assigned to work with you and to protect you.“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14) Do NOT be hesitant to enlist and commission the Holy Angels to help you―not only in your God assigned tasks―but in your personal life as well. One time I was in terrible pain for months in my upper right back. The pain hurt so badly that I cried lots of tears. I went to doctors, to specialists and to physical therapy. The LORD told me NOT to take some extreme medication prescribed for me. (I later researched it and found it was very dangerous.) Nothing helped. I even told two of the doctors, “The pain is so bad that I have asked God to either heal me or take me home to Heaven.” One night I was laying on the floor and before I went to sleep, I prayed and said to God, “Father, you can just send one of your Holy Angels and tell him to touch me.” That night, as I was sleeping, I was awakened by a LOUD “pop” and I felt something in my right upper back. I was instantly healed and had no more trouble after that. I don't care what other people say or think. I know God sent His Holy Angel and had him touch me in answer to my prayer! I have prayed before and asked God to send His Holy Angel and bring me money. Within hours, a knock was at my door and a person was there with hundreds of dollars for me. A Holy Angel appeared to my first-born daughter when she was four years old. It is this: BE UNIQUE. Serve God in the giftings He has given YOU. Many people―many rabbis and ministers―are serving God as “Copy Cats.” That is, they are copying other ministers or ministries: some unknowingly have been doing this from the start―not even realizing it. You may ask, “How are they copying―or, trying to copy―others?” Here are some examples: Style, Content, Organization, Outreach, Solicitation. To be effective at maximum efficiency, productivity and anointing you must minister, or serve the LORD, in your own unique way. You do NOT need to―nor are you required to―be like others. JUST BE YOU! Let's discuss some areas to clarify our premise. FAITH: What faith is – Faith is the underpinning―the knowing―that you already own, or have, what you are hoping for and attempting. Why then would you want to copy someone else's pursuit of something that is NOT yours? GREATNESS: Making your mark in life – Great marks in life start small. Obedience produces opportunity for Kingdom advance. So obey God in what He is leading you and He will open doors. He sees! DECISION MAKING: The point of decision – Large decsions in life are the composite of the smaller, or minor, decisions you have made, or are making. Learn to make the right move at each point of decision. Understanding can wait, but obedience can not. Doubt will erase the mark you want to make in life. Our brother James (Hebrew = Jacob) taught: “When you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. that person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.” – James 1:6-8 Doubt usually comes from any of four sources: People; Self; Satan; or Circumstances Do NOT doubt when you have the vision—when you know—that you own what you are attempting. Start where you're at―even if it's small—and be like the “Energizer Bunny.” “Those who have made fun of this day of small beginnings will rejoice when they see Zerubbabel holding this important stone. Those seven lamps are my eyes—the eyes of the Lord—and they see everything on this earth.” – Zechariah 4:10 There was an NBA basketball player named John Stockton that lots of peole never remember … or even heard about. Before turning pro, he played at a small college in his home town. He just did his job as point guard. But he was like the Energizer Bunny. He left the NBA after 19 seasons with the Utah Jazz, holding a mass of assists records, including the career mark (15,806). He led the league in steals twice and, with a career total of 3,265, he retired as the NBA's all-time leader. He played all 82 games in 17 of his 19 seasons and his career shooting percentage was .515, a remarkable statistic for a guard. "There absolutely, positively, will never ever be another John Stockton – ever," said Karl Malone, Stockton's teammate for 18 seasons. John Stockton was NOT trying to copy―or, be like―anyone else. He just used what giftings he had for 19 seasons. The Jazz never missed the playoffs during Stockton's career and they reached the Western Conference Finals five times in a seven-year span. He left his mark on the game! Famed UCLA basketball coach John Wooden once said Stockton was the NBA player he enjoyed watching the most and the only one he would pay to see. You are not always the best person to judge your uniqueness! Especially if you're feeling low or insecure. But … YOU are the only one who can make a difference with what God has given YOU. When you hear voices telling you that you are not talented enough or good enough, talk them down. Tell them that YOU are the only one who can do what God has called YOU to do. Above all, do NOT get yourself―or your service for God―into a position where you are on a “gristmill” working to maintain and NOT to be creative. As can be shown, a careful distinction needs to be made by the Jewish believer in Messiah, regarding matters of rabbinical authority (Oral Torah) and Torah issues as a whole. If our Messiah correctly determines correct Torah interpretation, then a misrepresentation of the true nature and intent of the Torah, whether by the sages of the Jewish People, or by the non-Jewish scholars of today, needs to be avoided at all costs. This is especially true if—since most rabbis disagree with the authority of the B’rit Chadashah—the believer is faced with a tough choice to make and he finds himself seeking the advice of leaders. As I see it, it all comes down to “Who has the authority to determine halakhah in the life of a Messianic Jew?” Space here does not permit me to deal with the matter in great detail, but suffice to say I understand the New Covenant to be non-supportive of the supposed inspirational authority of the Oral Torah, that is, authority vested from heaven concerning legal matters, as expounded in the Talmud. The verses cited by the rabbis in our parashah just don’t seem to conform to the Torah as a whole. In my opinion, evidence is lacking to support an authoritative Oral Torah. What is more, in instances of Oral Torah, where clear and unambiguous support is given over to the separation of Jew and Gentiles as ostensible equal covenant believers, the talmid of Yeshua must side with the authoritative Written Word of God on this matter: Jews and Gentiles are fellow heirs in the covenants of Promise made possible through genuine trusting faithfulness in Yeshua the Messiah. To sum up my concluding thoughts on both Torah traditions: It is crucial for us to understand theologically, that the primary purpose in HaShem's giving of the Torah (written and/or oral), as a way of making someone righteous, only achieves its goal when the person, by faith, accepts that Yeshua is the promised Messiah spoken about therein. Until the individual reaches this conclusion, his familiarity of the Torah is only so much intellectual nutrition. Only by believing in Yeshua will the person be able to properly understand HaShem, and consequently, his Word. The "righteousness" of the Torah is two-fold: 1) "Forensic" - appropriated the moment one places his unreserved trusting faithfulness in the Messiah prophesied about in the Scriptures; and 2) "Behavioral” - the resulting lifestyle of the former-mentioned righteousness, i.e., Torah submissiveness. The primary difference are the fact that the first one is an act of faith, whereas, the latter is an act of obedience (read Ephesians 2:8-10 carefully, and you will see this progression of circumstances). Solid hermeneutics will clearly demonstrate that the Messiah did NOT abolish the Torah of Moshe (this would consequently include the oral tradition that is based on the Torah of Moshe!). Moreover, historical, corporate Isra'el is not keeping (or ever kept) all of the Torah correctly—to include the traditions handed down since Avraham Avinu (Abraham our Father). The operative word is "correctly". What is more, the "freedom" of Messiah does NOT give the Church or Isra'el license to practice "iniquity" (the Greek word anomia ajnomiva equates to "Torahlessness") . To be sure, the freedom Sha’ul speaks of is actually freedom to walk in Torah! Prior to this Christ-given freedom we were slaves to sin, and thus, unable to submit to God’s Law even if we wanted to (cf. Rom. 8:7, 8). This may be hard to grasp, but if a person has accepted the faith of God, in the (historical) person and work of his Son (past or present), then they are keeping the central part of the Torah! The rest is his journey towards the "works of God" as described in Eph. 2:8-10. I shall have to conclude then that if such an oral tradition leads one towards the above-mentioned righteousness then such a tradition is good and applicable for today's follower of HaShem.

Conclusions: Is Yeshua God? The Torah is the final Word on this important subject matter. In my personal opinion as a mere human in scrutiny of God, I must believe and accept what it teaches about God as a composite UNITY from Genesis to Revelation, or I must throw ALL of it out in desperation and conclusion that no such being called God can exist within the scope of human existence, a God who is defined in such Scriptures as a "Unity of Three". Does our understanding of HaShem and Yeshua as echad have salvific implications for us as believers? I believe that it does. Again let us turn to a few Scriptural examples. Observe the fascinating interaction between HaShem, the Son, and the Name: YHVH: Joel 2:32: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the YHVH shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the YHVH hath said, and in the remnant whom the YHVH shall call. YESHUA: Act 4:12: There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Rom 10:9-13: that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Yeshua, and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on Him. For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." 1Co 1:2: to the assembly of GOD which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Messiah Yeshua, called to be holy ones, with all who call on the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah in every place, both theirs and ours. We cannot have it both ways. Either the TaNaKH agrees with the B’rit Chadashah that YHVH is LORD (as is Yeshua) or the B’rit Chadashah is wrong in its portrayal of Yeshua as LORD (a title formerly reserved exclusively in the TaNaKH for YHVH). I shall close with a "trinity" of quotes: a quote from the book written specifically to the Ivrim (Hebrews), one from Philippians, and finally a significant one from the TaNaKH itself: Hebrews 1:1-3…In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. (NIV) Philippians 2:8-11…And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (NIV) Isaiah 45:21-23: ... there is no GOD else beside Me; a just GOD and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am GOD, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. (JPS) The Name that is above every name is the name YHVH. HaShem granted Yeshua of Nazareth the right to use The Name for himself so that he may speak for HaShem, he may speak as HaShem, and he may receive worship as HaShem just as mystics describe the "fictional character" Metatron doing in ancient times. Refusal to worship and serve Yeshua as Almighty God insults the True God, and shows a gross lack of respect for The Name.

From Kadesh to Moab – Disobedience, Death, and Desert Dilemmas The parashah goes on to narrate the tragic story of Moshe’s disobedience. Chapter 20 records for us the sobering reason as to why this otherwise stalwart leader succumbs to human weakness. It is true that he was incredibly faithful to perform all that HaShem asked him to do. Yet, even Moshe was not perfect. The pressure mounted and in a moment of anger and indecision, he struck—twice, when he was commanded to speak. Thus, he dishonored HaShem in the sight of all Isra'el. For this, HaShem would not allow him to enter into the Land that he was leading the people to. He would only be allowed to gaze at it from afar. What lessons can be learned from this? HaShem is a merciful God! In spite of Moshe’s disobedience, water did indeed flow from the rock to meet the community’s physical need. Yet, along with God’s mercy, we see a reminder of his requirements of responsibility especially where chosen leaders are involved. Moshe was in what is known as a “high visibility” position. The greater the calling the greater the responsibility. Moshe was not in a position to be blatantly disobeying HaShem. His call was a higher one, and therefore, God expected more from him. Remember that this was the man of whom the Torah says he spoke to God “face to face” and “mouth to mouth”. In our Torah portion we read of the deaths of two of the community’s great leaders, two from the same family no less. Miryam the sister and Aharon the Cohen HaGadol both die in chapter 20. In the case of Miryam, we saw the people’s concern for her demonstrated a few parash’ot ago, when, as she contracted tzara’at (leprosy) they all waited while she remained outside the camp before moving on with their travels. Here in the later part of chapter 20, Isra‘el mourns Aharon for thirty days, as his son El’azar takes on the awesome responsibility of his father’s place in the community. “Are we there yet?” Having warned the people about their coming days of lawlessness (verses 16-18 of D’varim chapter 31), HaShem then commands Moshe to teach them a song of remembrance (verse19-22), which will serve as a witness for their God, against the people of Isra’el. The actual song itself is recorded for us in Chapter 32. So why does HaShem keep reminding them of their upcoming failure to obey him? From a cursory glance, it appears rather pessimistic and disheartening. In fact, it may strike the average reader as being too harsh and challenging, similar to the seemingly insurmountable challenge that awaits the people as they endeavor to enter the Land of Promise. But we need to understand the heart of the Father here. His (loving) chastening does appear, at first, to be too much for us to bear, but as we begin to see the “big picture” we will understand it more. The Torah is HaShem’s measuring rod for disobedience. To be sure, this is what he said in D’varim 31:26. Even the New Covenant Scriptures echo this same teaching consistently throughout the above-mentioned book of Romans. This happens, the Torah teaches us in both the TaNaKH and the B’rit Chadashah, “in order that every mouth may be stopped and the whole world be shown to deserve God’s adverse judgment. For in his sight no one alive will be considered righteous…(Psalm 143:2; Romans 3:19).” Now this specifically applied to those within the framework of the Torah, of which the Jewish Nation surely was! The budding young nation that we read about in our current parashah had already begun to live within that framework, which was initiated at the “Mount Sinai experience”. HaShem was training them to become dependant upon his grace alone to get them out of “hot water”. The enemies that they would encounter on their way “Home” would indeed be “hot!”

With Parashat P’kudei (say “P-koo-day”) we have reached our final parashah of the book of Sh’mot (Exodus). Remember that I’ve explained to you that the word “sh’mot” is the plural form of the Hebrew word “shem” which means, “name”. We’ve discussed some pretty significant names in the book of Sh’mot. The parashah is relatively short, like it’s previous portion, and is read with Parashat Vayak’hel in regular years. Our current and final portion of Sh’mot ends with the assurance that the Spirit of the Holy One led them every day and night during their time in the wilderness: “For the cloud of ADONAI was above the tabernacle during the day, and fire was in [the cloud] at night, so that all the house of Isra’el could see it throughout all their travels.” (40:38) Every single incident and detail mentioned above has been under the divine care and leading of our Unmatchable Heavenly Abba! Even our gross (surely upsetting) sin doesn’t escape the plans of God. If we place our genuine, trusting faithfulness in his Loving Hand, then our journeys, like that of ‘Am Yisra’el, will not be arbitrary. On the contrary, the B’rit Chadashah promises us that our relationship with HaShem through Messiah Yeshua is indeed on a well-planned out course (read Romans 8:28-30)! This road of “faith in Messiah” is non other than a course of righteousness and glorification! “Halleluyah!” That is something to get excited about! It is customary after the completion of a book of the Torah to say, “Chazak, chazak, v’nit’chazek!” (Be strong, be strong, and let us be strengthened!)

DESCRIPTION: God established the boundaries of the nation of Israel about 4,000 years ago when He described them to Abraham. About 500 years later, God gave the description of Israel’s boundaries in more detail to Moses. ORIGIN OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND THE LAND OF ISRAEL In the Brit Chadashah, in Acts 17:26, the Bible says, "(G-d) has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the boundaries of their habitations." From one man, Adam, G-d has made every nation of men to scatter and settle on the whole face of the earth, G-d knowing beforehand which nations would rise and fall and at what time they would be in power. God also fixed their boundaries ahead of time for these certain periods of time. God established the boundaries of the nation of Israel about 4000 years ago, during the time of Abraham. (See Torah: Genesis 15:18-21.) About 500 years later, G-d gave the description of the boundaries of Israel in more detail to Moses. (See Torah: Deuteronomy 34:1-12.) Abraham had two sons: Ishmael and Isaac. (Read Torah: Genesis Chapters 16, 17, 21, and 22.) Ishmael was Abraham’s son by his Egyptian maid, Hagar. Ishmael became the "father" of the Arab nations; he was the son "of the flesh", not the son which G-d had promised to Abraham. Isaac was the "son of the promise", but Ishmael was the result of Abraham trying to "help G-d out" - trying to help G-d keep His word. Have you ever tried to do this? Have you ever acted too quickly instead of waiting with patience for the promise of G-d to come to pass? In Genesis 21:12, G-d said unto Abraham, "in Isaac shall thy seed be called." Through the line of Isaac the promised "seed" would come who would bless the world. Isaac had twin sons named Esau and Jacob. Even though Jacob was the younger, he inherited the blessing, or "birthright", form his father Isaac (Torah: Genesis 25:19-34). Jacob’s name was changed to Israel one time after he had wrestled with an angel of G-d all night (Torah: Genesis Chapter 32). The name "Jacob" means "heel catcher" or "supplanter" (one who displaces, as he did to his brother Esau in regard to the birthright). The name Israel means "having power with God" or "G-d’s fighter". A change had happened in Jacob’s life; he began to see the purpose of G-d for his life! Have you had a change in your life? Do you have a vision of what G-d wants you to do? If so, you will be changed! This change doesn't have to take place when you're young ... it might be after you've "weathered" the years (or rather, after the years have "weathered" you!). The G-d of Israel is the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, had 12 sons who became the heads of the 12 tribes of Israel. Now you see where the nation of Israel came from: from the seed of Abraham, starting with Abraham's grandson, Jacob. Jacob (Israel) was the father of the 12 tribes. G-d called Abraham out and he became a blessing to the whole earth through his obedience. It was through his (Abraham’s) seedline that Yeshua came. Abraham produced a nation (Israel) and that nation produced the Messiah: Yeshua ha Meshiach. The name "Jew" was first used to refer to someone from the tribe of Judah. Later, after the return from the 70 year captivity in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah (we will study this in a later podcast), the name "Jew" was used to refer to anyone from any of the 12 tribes, since the tribe of Judah seemed to make up the larger portion of the remnant of Israel. The children of Israel were originally called "Hebrews". In the Brit Chadasha, the Rabbi Shaul (the apostle Paul) was called a Hebrew; and yet the two terms, "Hebrew" and "Jew", are now used with little distinction. QUESTION: Have you spent time (or, are you spending time) alone with G-d for the reception and the development of the VISION for G-d's purpose in your life? That VISION will help you PERSIST through trials and hardships so that G-d's PROMISE will be fulfilled in your life! If not, start TODAY. Bow your heart before him NOW. Claim this promise in Jeremi ah 33:3: "Call unto me, and I will answer you and show you GREAT and MIGHTY things which you do not know." Pray to the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Ask Him to reveal to you if Yeshua is really your Messiah. If He does, then receive Him into your life. Pray, and ask Him what He wants you to do. Read the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah. Syria / Iran Iranian officers are now in command of Hizballah teams at the 7,800 foot elevation of Mt. Sannine in Lebanon. From there they can monitor and cause trouble to US Sixth Fleet movements in the Mediterranean and, also, the Israeli Air Force flights. Iranian officers have also been attached to Hizballah’s anti-air, surface, and shore-to-ship missile units across Lebanon. If If you will consult any of my podcasts on this issue – that is, the Syria / Iran issue – you will know that I have given you the answer already: Attack Iran NOW! Iran’s defeat will cause her followers to lay low and lick their wounds. Also, any subordinate military forces will be legally subject to attack and international humiliation. Why? Because they support(ed) a rogue terrorist nation who had nuclear annihilation as a goal. 2. Hamas, Hezbollah and terrorist groups Go after them wherever they are at; completely dismantle them. For the individual suicide bombers, cut off all aid to their families and deport the families. Announce the penalty of such attacks and the results upon immediate family members of the suicide bombers. Announce the NEW penalties that will be carried out by public media coverage so as to cause more introspective reflection by those who would carry out such attacks. Establish MDA (Magen David Adom) and other social welfare and medical stations where Palestinians may come for aid. This is to provide HELP and show GOOD WILL, even if it is NOT accepted. Don’t expect the Red Crescent to do the same for Israelis. MUSIC 3. Political corruption Olmert was questioned again by police for two hours in at his Jerusalem home. He is now suspected of multiple billing deceit for travel trips. Also, USA businessman Morris Talansky declared that he had personally conveyed to Olmert in envelopes $150,000 over a period of 10 years. Israel needs a Prime Minister who is a Messianic Jew (either an Orthodox Rabbi or a Hebrew Christian). 4. Divided Knesset The current Knesset representation provides too fractious of a body to govern Israel with respect to its calling as a separate people from G-d. The only hope, politically, is to expand the powers delegated to judicial review, and to have as members of the Supreme Court (Beit haMishpat ha'Elyon) those who are Messianic believers: those who want the highest good for Eretz Israel. 5. European Union If you have listened to even a few of my podcasts, you will be aware that the EU (European Union) is NOT the friend of Israel. As a matter of fact, it will be in the future the greatest enemy that Israel has ever known: even greater than Nazi Germany. The NWO (New World Order) will arise from both the EU and the League of Arab States and that the Ten (10) Region World Order will select the leader who will seduce Israel into signing a seven (7) year treaty, or covenant, allowing Israel to rebuild the Temple on or near the Temple Mount. Jerusalem will be the bargaining key. (Consult the Show Notes of my podcast 2008-06-10 titled: “The World Leader Who Deceives Israel”). The 10 region confederacy that will be comprised of governments in both Europe and the Middle East (including North East Africa) will ultimately have the political clout to control the Mediterranean. Some of these 10 region states may be from Western Asia and North Africa, but most of them will probably be from Europe. The final leader of this confederacy will overthrow three (3) of the 10 nations by a political, military and governmental takeover. He will be the False Messiah: the enemy of Israel. MUSIC Today, in addition to disease and famine issues, the leaders of the dominant nations are concerned with three (3) primary factors: Attaining peace among nations and ethnic groups; Guaranteeing the flow of oil; and, Stopping terrorism and conflict in the Middle East (especially between Israel and the Palestinians). Again, the CHIEF bargaining factor will be the city of Jerusalem! What you should be watching for is: Leadership ... a leader ... who will seemingly have the solution for the Israeli / Palestinian conflict. This leader, appointed by the NWO will bring temporary peace and will convince the Jewish people to sign a seven (7) year treaty. In exchange for agreeing to this treaty negotiation, Israel will be allowed to rebuild her Temple on the Temple Mount. Then, after three and one half years (42 months) the NWO leader (the false Messiah) will do just what Antiochus Epiphanes did, who desecrated the Jewish Temple at the time of the Maccabean revolt. (Read Daniel 9:24-27 and Daniel 11:31 in the Tanakh.) The new world leader will go into the new rebuilt Temple and blaspheme G-d … then he will declare that he is G-d. Right now, because Israel so wants to increase trade with the EU, it is making preparation for RFID EPC (Electronic Product Code) tracking to replace UPC bar codes on products. United Nations The UN is one of the most impotent bodies on the face of the earth … and it does NOT have Israel has a priority benefactor. Israel, do NOT depend on the UN, the USA, the EU for help. If you lean on the UN … or any of these entities … you will be doing the same as your forefathers did: “leaning on Egypt.” “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help … but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!" “Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit.” - Isaiah 31:1 and 3 MUSIC 7. Lack of spiritual unity Recently, a handful of Orthodox students, prompted by Deputy Mayor Uzi Aharon, went door to door in the Neveh Rabin neighborhood, gathering up copies of the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) and burning them. Ma’ariv, the second largest Hebrew daily newspaper, reported that hundreds of students were involved. Aharon, a member of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, declared that it is a “commandment” to burn material considered idolatrous. In a press release issued shortly after the episode, the Anti-Defamation League deplored the destruction of Bibles, using the strongest of terms. Interfaith Policy Director Rabbi Eric J. Greenburg stated, “We condemn this heinous act as a violation of the basic Jewish principles and values. The Jewish people can never forget the tragic burning of the Talmud and theTorah throughout history.” The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, which includes more than 1.5 million Reform Jews across America and 1,800 Reform rabbis, issued a press release calling the burning of the New Testament, “hilul Hashem, a desecration of God’s name.” The rabbinic statement concludes by “urging rabbis of all streams in Judaism to condemn these actions and to reaffirm the bonds of friendship and respect that should mark relations between Jews and Christians throughout the world.” CONCLUSION Israel needs to center on faith in Messiah. Jewish believers from all sectors of the spectrum need to focus on a united Israel AND to realize that Messianic Jews (Hebrew Christians) … and all REAL Christians love Israel and the Jewish people. Work together, trusting G-d, or fall together. In Yediot Aharonot, the most widely read Hebrew news source in Israel, Meir Shalev, the most widely celebrated Israeli author, wrote “I suggest to every person in Israel, secular or religious, to read the Brit Chadashah (New Testament).
