As massage therapists, we spend a lot of time mastering anatomy—learning specialized vocabulary and the locations of muscles, bones, and nerves in the body. We can take our anatomy understanding even deeper by looking not just at where our client's anatomy lives but also how their anatomy relates to each other: tissue relationships. In this third and final episode of the three-part series “Your Practice in 3D,” we discuss the concept of tissue relationships and how dissection lab trainings can improve a therapist's ability to understand the anatomy they touch. Sometimes doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result can turn into some very bad habits. So many times we have written off these lifelong battles as unwinnable or unattainable. What has become a destructive behavior can never be altered. But for as much as we think these thoughts will never lead us anywhere, we must never settle for giving up or accepting less than we deserve. In fact, the time is now for humble dependence on God and a plan to walk in his power. In his latest book, “The 7 Resolutions: Where Self-Help Ends and God's Power Begins”, author Karl Clauson believes that we can take hold of God's promises by committing to a handful of spiritual resolutions. Things like thinking truth, taking risks, or focusing our efforts can all go a long way to finding peace, comfort, and even resolve in our lives. But none of these things can happen without the steady guiding hand of God.Clauson joins us on the Crossmap Podcast to talk about why people who are living the Christian life seem to get stuck living under their own strength at times. Listen as he shares about seven resolutions you can make with God that will help you get out of old patterns and live more fully for Christ.Get the book: The 7 Resolutions: Where Self-Help Ends and God's Power BeginsLinks to Crossmap Crossmap Website Crossmap Facebook
Culture has been stumped in its effort to define a woman, but can you define a Christian? Is it someone who goes to church and reads the Bible, one who accomplishes powerful things for the church and for God, or something else? Pastor of the 180 Church in Chicago, morning radio show host, and author, Karl Clauson is a consummate adventurer with amazing insights. Life has taken him from Alaska to Africa, and from the Iditarod to meeting God. A “Type A” personality, Clauson's life of adventure yielded an unsettling discovery about himself and others who call themselves Christians but are not Christians at all. They are often active for God, but not with Him. Clauson has a passion for being “in Christ,” for living a life of absolute risk by surrendering every atom of self to the Almighty for His purposes. His story is riveting. As he walks you through his life, you cannot help but see how much God desires every part of yours. In this insightful episode of Tech Talks Daily, Neil Clauson, Regional CISO at Mimecast, joins us to shed light on a subject that has now found a permanent place in boardroom agendas worldwide: cyber risk. The World Economic Forum's 2023 Global Risks Report has highlighted cyber risk as a top concern for global leaders, echoing the urgent need for board-level understanding and action in this domain. But how do CISOs make the complex world of cybersecurity comprehensible to the C-Suite and the board? Neil Clauson offers a masterclass. We explore the nuances of demystifying mid-to-long-term risks associated with cyber threats, urging the importance of language that resonates with the board. Gone are the days when technical jargon could dominate these high-level discussions. In today's interconnected business landscape, it's crucial that cyber risks are articulated in terms directly correlating with business outcomes. But it's not just about communicating what could go wrong; it's also about focusing on why it can go wrong. For instance, why does heavy reliance on a single security provider increase risk? The episode explores Clauson's recommendations for aligning cyber risk with the broader business landscape. By doing so, CISOs can move away from a crisis-response model to one that is integral to the business strategy, thereby elevating the cybersecurity discourse from a niche IT concern to a core business functionality. Neil Clauson also imparts wisdom on how to frame cyber risk without inciting unnecessary panic. He suggests tactical approaches that allow the board to quantify these risks accurately, driving home the point that not every incident warrants a five-alarm fire. Finally, we delve into the evolving role of the CISO, emphasizing the need for a sense of humor, preparedness, and proactive risk management strategies that go beyond mere compliance to embed cybersecurity into the very fabric of the business. This episode is a must-listen for CISOs grappling with the challenge of making cybersecurity a board-level priority and for board members looking to gain a nuanced understanding of this multifaceted risk landscape.
