I am delighted to welcome to the Podcast Aidan from Dancing Man Brewery based in Southampton. Dancing Man was launched in 2015 by Aidan in the wonderful Grade-1 listed 14th Century Wool House on the banks of the River Itchen in Central Southampton.
In this episode, Dan and Scott talk about Dan's iconic wheat beer, Dancing Man. Dan also breaks down why water is so important to brewing and the effects different water can have on the same beer. Cheers!
Spencer has been dancing his whole life! He has been met with incredible support but also some assumptions and unkindness. However, nothing stops Spencer from exploring his passion for dance!
DANCING MAN, 23min., USA Directed by Robert Steven Mack, Clarisse Gamblin David, a young and quixotic dancer, is confronted with the decision of whether to stay at a Midwestern ballet company with his new love interest Gabrielle or follow a promising choreographer to New York to chase his pipe dream of dancing in Golden Age musicals. Featuring vibrant cinematography, an elegant score by Yi-Chen Chiang, and toe-tapping choreography by Chris Lingner, Dancing Man showcases dancers from IU Ballet Theatre and Indianapolis Ballet in this colorful and bittersweet dramedy about conflicting passions. https://www.robertstevenmack.com/dancing-man.html https://instagram.com/dancingmanfilm Get to know filmmaker Robert Steven Mack: This film takes an audience inside the ballet world, pays homage to the classic Hollywood musicals we love, yet tells a very personal story about chasing greener pastures and the anxiety we face making life-altering decisions that are ultimately for the better. I have been making dance films since I was a freshman in college. And all my previous works have been leading up to this one. A CHORUS LINE COMPOSER: Marvin Hamlisch LYRICIST: Ed Kleban BOOK: Nichola Dante and James Kirkwood DIRECTOR: Michael Bennett CHOREOGRAPHER: Michael Bennett PRINCIPLE CAST: Donna McKechnie (Cassie), Priscilla Lopez (Diana), Robert LuPone (Zach) OPENING DATE: July 25th, 1975 CLOSING DATE: April 28th, 1990 PERFORMANCES: 6,137 SYNOPSIS: On an empty Broadway stage, a group of dancers have gathered for an audition for a new musical, directed and choreographed by Zach. Breaking the traditional rules of auditioning, Zach delves into the personal lives of each of the dancers, which includes his ex-lover Cassie, who has given up a promising career to return to the chorus. Chronicling the lives of seventeen Broadway dancers as they audition for an ensemble, A Chorus Line shattered expectations as a new kind of musical. Its reliance on interviews with actual dancers qualified the show among the ranks of documentary drama, becoming the first major Broadway musical to approach subject matter in that way. Ron Fassler traces the Rashomon-like origins of the show, the advent of the workshop which became the standard method for musical production, and how Michael Bennett, Marvin Hamlisch, Ed Kleban, Nicholas Dante, and James Kirkwood created a docu-musical that transcended its show biz plot and found universality for multi generational audiences. Ron Fassler is an author, playwright, director, actor and theatre critic. His acclaimed first book, Up in the Cheap Seats: A Historical Memoir of Broadway, tells the stories of how from the age of eleven he saw 200 Broadway shows over a four-year span—at an average ticket price of $3. Nathan Lane called it “Well worth the price of admission,” and it was selected as one of Playbill's “must-read theatre books of 2017.” His one-act plays Half Glasses and Having Words were chosen for the 2019 and 2020 William Inge Theatre Festival in Independence, Kansas. Show Up to Go UpEp 17 Show Up and Create Something Meaningful (with Katy Dolle)Katy is an actress, comedian, filmmaker, and all around creative who lives in LA and whose notable credits include Dancing Man, Ghost Whisperer, It Hits When you Know It, Smosh, and Buzzfeed. She has had a successful career and she is constantly challenging herself with new things. But, that doesn’t mean her success came easily. Just like you and me she has struggled with fear, doubts and insecurities. I asked her to join me to talk about how she’s been able to push past those obstacles to keep moving forward and create the life she wants. Hey there! My goal is to reach and help as many people as possible. If you like this podcast please share it with your friends so they can be inspired and motivated as well. Find me on Instagram at @showuptogoup OR @stephygthatsme Contact Katy:@katydolle Here is a breakdown of our conversation...1:30-2:40 We talk about how there are two options during these scary times - You can take action and keep moving forward or you can live in fear. Katy has found that she’s enjoyed being able to slow down and enjoy being creative during this time.2:50-5:08 Katy’s story in her own words - She is an LA native and was the black sheep growing up because her family isn’t in the entertainment industry. She started acting in high school but she knew she wanted to be an actress when she was 9 years old. She went to NYU for college and when she got back to LA after college she fell into the comedy scene because she found an inclusive community that was constantly collaborating and that eventually led her to get behind the camera as well which has turned into a second career. She’s taught herself everything about being a filmmaker just by going online and having the curiosity and determination. 5:18-8:56 How did you know your passion and purpose at such a young age? And how have you been able to constantly take action and keep moving forward and create? She learned from Bob Hope who used to tap dance down the stairs (even as an old man) and said “I gotta keep moving otherwise I’ll die.” She knows that if she is in a dark place and doesn't talk action it only gets worse. We all have the potential to do many things but figuring out if it fulfills and moves you is another thing. It takes inner reflection and trying different things. You never know if you’re going to be passionate about something unless you try it. She is passionate about create something that will make a difference in life. It’s a journey to find your passion. 8:56-9:32 What does it mean to you to show up for yourself?Always remembering what your values and dreams are and not losing sight of that even if it hasn’t worked out yet. If you have a dream of how you want your life to be just don’t let go. Keep that vision and keep visualizing. 9:32-13:06 Can you talk about some of the challenges/struggles you’ve had and how you keep focusing on that vision and keep moving forward? You have to be able to deal with rejection but more recently she’s had personal challenges. Her brother is autistic and has epilepsy. She is the closest family member to him so when things go wrong she’s the first call. For two years he was having regular seizures and eventually a specialist recommended brain surgery which she viewed as a life or death situation and that helped put things into perspective as far as what’s important in life. Thankfully her brother is doing better now post surgery. 13:06-15:50 You talked about going through that helped you realize what is important and what’s not and you spoke a little bit about what’s not important. Would you mind talking a little more about what you found is important during that time? She found that family and relationships in general is the most important thing. When you’re at the end of your life if you don’t have anyone to share those things with then what’s the point. It’s also important to make a positive impact on the world. Her first big project, Dancing Man, to raise awareness on bullying. That experience showed her the power of people coming together for a cause which inspired her to create We'll Never Make It - a story based on her life that raises awareness about autism (available on Amazon Prime with this link https://www.amazon.com/Well-Never-Make-Katy-Dolle/dp/B084JJ2HPP or you can DM Katy on Instagram @katydolle for a FREE vimeo link if you don't have Prime). The world would be a better place if we can all think about what we do and how we can help others. 15:50-18:09 Can you tell us more about your podcast that is in the works? It’s called Crying Behind Sunglasses and it's about the struggles of being a human. She’ll be exploring all different element of mental health, psychology, self care, and creating a space for people to share their story but also smile and laugh through it. If you’re interested check back in the summer when it’s expected to launch. You can follow Katy for more info. 18:09-18:45 What’s your favorite quote that you love or love to life by?“Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.” -Buddah 18:45 Is there anything else you want to share with people about what you’re doing? Her short film, We'll Never Make It, is available on Amazon Prime https://www.amazon.com/Well-Never-Make-Katy-Dolle/dp/B084JJ2HPP. The Mad Chatters Podcast | Walt Disney World and Around the Disney Universe
Audio-animatronics have been a staple of Disney parks for over five decades. But what many guests might not realize is that "Audio-Animatronics" is a registered trademark because Walt Disney and his team of Imagineers were actually responsible for inventing the technology! On this week's show we trace the history of audio-animatronics, stopping along the way to discuss some of the biggest milestones and our personal favorite audio-animatronics, including Abraham Lincoln, the Tiki Room birds, Hopper, and much more. Also on this week's episode, Jeremy and Matt discuss their recent adventures in Walt Disney World and share their thoughts on the World of Disney's new look, Toy Story Land, and more. Plus, we play another round of Take 5 by sharing our thoughts on various Disney topics using only five words. Tune in now! Are you on social media? We’d love for you to connect with us on Facebook (/madchatterspodcast), Instagram (@madchatters), and Twitter (@MadChatters). Or, send your emails to comments@madchatters.net. Thanks for listening!
Ahh, If Wishes Were Horses. What is there to say about it? It’s got the Dancing Man from Twin Peaks as Rumpelstiltzkin, it’s got Buck Bokai, it’s got Bashir’s sex fantasies, it’s got Gunji Jackdaws… that’s pretty much everything, so we just decided to waste/enhance everyone’s time by talking about Ninja Turtles and how hard/easy they are to differentiate, classic Konami arcade side-scrolling beat-‘em-ups, how appropriate or not Bashir’s fantasies are, the surprising similarities between Gunji Jackdaws and emus, dumb Trek animal analogies, and, ahhh, BASEBALL. If podcasts were Gunji Jackdaws, ROTWeilers would… listen? Sure, why not, makes as much sense as anything in this episode.
Mike's been hustled down in Texas, so Pat's without adult supervision when he interviews Glenn Crytzer about his new big band project: "Ain't It Grand." Glenn talks about the challenges of playing vintage jazz authentically, writing in the style of the period, and leading a band in the post making-money-from-album-sales era. The episode concludes with a brief discussion of some of Glenn's favorite vintage jazz sides. Glenn Crytzer - AIN'T IT GRAND? Plus quick looks at tracks by Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Eddie Lang, Charlie Christian, Jean Goldkette, and Sy Oliver.
Howard Mordoh is known as the LA Rocker or The Dancing Man. If you are in Los Angeles, you probably have seen him at a show or two dancing it up. Howard is a LA legend when it comes to concerts. We talk about Coachella, Desert Trip, LCD Soundsystem to Bruce Springsteen and Howard reminisces about Los Angeles back in the day. Howard’s story is an adventure and if you are an avid concert goer this episode is for you.

Bay City Rollers leader singer Les McKeown takes time out of their revival tour to tell us about how different it is now from their 1970's heyday. We'll check out if he's still wearing tartan. Chinelo Bally's passion for sewing was fuelled when she appeared on the BBC's Great British Sewing Bee programme in 2014. Four years on from starting sewing she's made it her business as a designer and seamstress. She'll join be talking about the Nigerian technique of free sewing, outfit embellishment and the joy of African prints. In February this year, Sean O'Brien was body-shamed after photos of him dancing were posted online. He joins Aasmah and Suzy to talk about his extraordinary year, and how he has used the attention to support anti bullying charities. We'll touch base with the Coxless Crew, a team of women who will be achieving a world first by rowing 8,446 miles unsupported across the Pacific Ocean in 2015, from America to Australia, and in the process aim to raise quarter of a million pounds for their two charities Walking With the Wounded and Breast Cancer Care.
