Dip back into The Fuderation back catalog as we take a look at ECW and Hardcore Heaven 97! Originally recorded June2020.
For an ECW, we've done way worse and we WILL DO way worse. This one actually wasn't that bad. There were, per usual, a lot of very questional booking decisions. There were also some God awful matches and the usual ECW tropes. However, those weren't enough to drag this show down to the depths of usual ECW pay-per-views. Taz was supposed to wrestle Chris Candido in the main event, but that didn't happen because Candido and Tammy were leaving, so Heyman wanted to squash him early. So, instead, we get a thread with the Dudley Boys all night, taking out randos and then trying to take out Taz. Besides that, we got possibly the greatest RVD vs. Jerry Lynn match ever, Little Guido taking on Yoshihiro Tajiri, a special appearance by Sid, and much more! In the news, we discuss ECW's continued money woes (leading to Shane Douglas's second...or maybe third departure), WWF handing WCW their rear on a platter, WCW's booking going down the tubes while the inmates run the asylum, Gordon Solie having major health issues, and more on this week's show! Episode 31: We're back in ECW but now it's in the same time as the rest of our show. The other ECW shows we watched were among the most celebrated in it's history. This one, less so. But we get RVD vs Jerry Lynn, a surprise appearance from a former WWF Champion, confusion over the women of ECW and main event Buh Buh Ray Dudley.
It's the Whole F'n Show vs. New F'n Show in this battle for the ECW TV Title. The RVD vs. Jerry Lynn feud is one that lives in ECW history as one of the greatest of that era. They had many matches across many shows, but this is often considered the best. Does it hold up as a classic? Plus, we talk about the Fonz (a lot), CM Punk's return, Malakai Black listening to us, why there will be a boom in babies being born in 9 months, disrespect to Bianca and more! Justin and Heather jump back into the land of extreme on this week's 3 Beers Deep Wrestling Podcast! On this week's show, Justin and Heather look at the first half of ECW Hardcore Heaven 1999!ECW is in dire straits at the moment, but you wouldn't know it by the feel of the show. ECW starts to add some good wrestling to go along with its hardcore style at this point in their history. And that is evident with the additions of Super Crazy and Tajiri to the brand. Crack some beers and watch along!
EC-Dub for one more week! Welcome to Hardcore Heaven 1995 bitches! 100% for the next two hours. We get to witness Luna teaming up with the Hardcore Legend Tommy Dreamer. Well, the Randomizer wasted no time throwing the Marks back into the fire. The 2nd trip to ECW-land is Hardcore Heaven 1997, the 2nd ever ECW PPV. With some extremely poor production quality, as well as some not-so-enthusiastic fans, the show has a lot working against it. Can guys like RVD, Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer as well as the Forbidden door that Jerry "The King" Lawler stepped through make the save? Or is it doomed to have better been forgotten? Two And A Half Marks is not affiliated with the WWE/WWF/WCW/TNA/AEW/any promotion or any of the professional wrestlers named in this podcast. Scott and Daryl finish the May 2000 PPV Tour with WWF Judgment Day 2000. The show in Louisville is headlined by just the second ever televised WWF Iron Man Match between The Rock and Triple H for the WWF Title with Shawn Michaels as the referee. Let us know which of the May 2000 PPVs you think was the best: WCW Slamboree, ECW Hardcore Heaven or Judgment Day -- email us at JAWPOD@gmail.com or tweet us www.twitter.com/JAWPodcast!

In this week’s episode, the boys welcome writer and performer Stephen Loh (Dr. America, The CBS Diversity Showcase) to the show to discuss his favorite match of all time: the excellent ECW World Television Championship match between Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn at ECW Hardcore Heaven 1999. This also leads to a discussion about how Lynn seems to be fairly unacknowledged in the current WWE canon. Then, a look at Joey Style’s 2006 worked shoot “I Quit” promo from Raw, as well as discussions about the One Night Stand pay-per-views, TNN, tape trading, “WWECW” and Bill Alfonso’s whistle. Plus, Nick talks about how much fun he had at the movies watching the absurd ‘mother!’ and Stephen P. adeptly notices the match’s “proto-Flippy shit.” For full show notes, including links to watch matches, go to BoardwalkAudio.com/YouShouldLoveWrestling Follow us on Twitter @YSLWpodcast Like us on Facebook Email us at YouShouldLoveWrestling@Gmail.com Support the show by shopping on Amazon See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

On this episode of HDTGB comedian, Todd Riley sits down with Zane & Jake to discuss ECW’s 2nd PPV offering, Hardcore Heaven 1997. Despite some noticeable technical issues this show isn’t that bad. But what we can all agree upon is that the Extreme Chopper needs to take a long trip over the Atlantic Ocean with a very low gas tank. Luckily Todd is at the perfect age were he can fully enjoy ECW for its violence, musically choices, the women and the abuse of a small man named Spike. As always for corrections tweet at Jake @manscoutmanning or email him at Jake@SSLShow.com. Make sure you checkout HowDidThisGetBooked.com for more information on the next episode.
