In this Flagship Flashback episode of the Wade Keller Pro Wrestling Podcast from ten years ago (10-4-2011), Wade is joined by ProWrestling.net's Jason Powell. They present analysis of WWE Hell in a Cell fallout on Raw, the big Walk Out angle with Triple H, and much more including live calls and interactive emails. Also in the VIP Aftershow they debate whether Bobby Roode is a good top star for TNA going forward, is Hurricane Helms's charity event in bad taste, and more from Raw.
The year is 2001 and WWE has won the wrestling wars! They have bought their competition and found themselves with a surplus of talent but not the big names like Goldberg, Hogan, Hall, Nash, or even a Sting. So, Stone cold has turn his back on WWE and joined the WCW/ECW Alliance, who unlike Vince, appreciate his greatness. But Kurt Angle has beef, a milk truck, and a plan otherwise. Basque and ThatDuffGuyPat (@ThatDuffGuyPat) come on the podcast to talk about the segment as two new wrestling consumers. We discuss the segment, Taz being abused, Hurricane Helms giving up his childhood hero for Stone Cold which some how leads to Steve Austin being the Viking's QB. We also lean on Basque's Minnesota life to confirm or deny how big a star Brock Lesnar is in Minnesota. If you missed part one, go back and listen RIGH NOW, we'll wait... RIGHT!?! Part two with Mike Davidson, also known as "The Hamiota Heart Throb", begins with him wrapping up the demise of AWE. You might think that's a low point considering what was done with AWE; world class level talent, PPV, well attended events, but you'd be wrong. The fall of Action Wrestling Entertainment lead to the birth of Wrestling Fan Experience, an even larger more successful company that very nearly booked Hulk Hogan VS Chris Jericho at the Bell MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Mike also mentions trying to book Umaga before his sad and untimely death, and working with such wrestling superstars as Bob "Hardcore" Holly, Hurricane Helms, Billy Gun, Rikishi, Taniel Dashwood(Emma) Nick "Eugene" Dunsmore, and many more. Mike talks candidly about his relationship with financier Jeff Dyck and where that relationship is today, and the WFX road map to expansion that included Texas, Purto Rico and Savio Vega, before it all came crashing down thanks to the infamous investigation. Not to be over shadowed, there are several signature Mike Davidson wrestling stories peppered through out, including "Mike Davidson has Sunny Days?" "The Great Pepito debuts in PCW...kinda", "Who the fuck is Ryan Wood" and many MANY more. GET THIS INTO YOU!

Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, February 1, 2021. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Let's get right into it. Last night's Royal Rumble gave us two history-making winners. 11 years to the day after he won his first Rumble, Edge won it again...and became only the third man to win the Rumble from the #1 spot. Edge is the 8th man to win the Rumble multiple times. The 11 year gap between his victories is the second longest EVER. Randy Orton was there at the beginning - and there at the end - but absent for just about everything else. Orton was the #2 entrant. He and Edge opened the Rumble with a wild brawl that ended up sending Orton backstage for “medical attention”. He didn't return until the VERY end of the Rumble...only to be the final elimination that sealed Edge's victory. The men's Rumble also saw some surprising returns. The biggest has to be Edge's former tag team partner Christian, who nearly lasted until the very end. Injuries forced Christian into retirement in 2014. Although he did work a very brief, low-contact “unsanctioned” match against Orton last June. Carlito was back, returning to WWE TV for the first time in over a decade. Kane was back - his 20th career Rumble appearance - by far the most ever in WWE history. Kane also eliminated 2 men - extending his record for career Rumble eliminations. Hurricane Helms also made a surprise return. Seth Rollins returned Damien Priest was the lone NXT talent in the men's Rumble. Priest, Rollins and Big E tied for the most eliminations in the men's Rumble - with four apiece .. AJ Styles' bodyguard Omos eliminated two men without even entering the match. In the women's Rumble, Bianca Belair delivered a dramatic, emotional victory. (Belair Rumble Win) That clip from WWE's social media. It may be time to crown Belair the Queen of the Royal Rumble. Last night, she set the record for the longest time in a single women's Rumble - at more than 56 minutes. She also shares the record for the most eliminations in a single Rumble. She and Shayna Baszler both eliminated 8 women last year. The last woman eliminated by Belair last night was Rhea Ripley, who had seven eliminations - the most in either Rumble last night. Ripley wasn't the only surprise entrant. Naomi returned to WWE TV in the #2 spot...and lasted more than 47 minutes. Lana was also back. Some other notable returns - Victoria and Jillian Hall - both back in a WWE ring for the first time in over a DECADE. Mickie James... Torrie Wilson… and Alicia Fox - who actually WON the 24/7 Championship from R-Truth DURING the women's Rumble...only to lose it back to him moments later. The 24/7 title changed hands AGAIN later in the night...as Kickoff Show panelist Peter Rosenberg surprised R-Truth. Universal Champ Roman Reigns looked like a beaten man in his Last Man Standing match against Kevin Owens. The two gave fans a look at just about every corner of the ThunderDome as they brawled all over the place. It looked like Reigns was done when Owens handcuffed him to a beam, but Reigns knocked out the referee just before he could reach the count of 10...got some help from Paul Heyman in escaping..and choked out Owens moments later. WWE Champ Drew McIntyre got through Goldberg in a trim two and a half minutes to retain his title. Sasha Banks beat Carmella to hold onto her SmackDown women's title. On the Kickoff Show...Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler dethroned Asuka and Charlotte Flair to reclaim the women's tag team titles. The difference was some late interference by Ric Flair and Lacey Evans, who knocked out Charlotte with a foreign object. Finally, a quick mention that New Japan is running a “Road To The New Beginning” show this morning. It'll see the first appearances on the tour for The Guerrillas of Destiny and Dangerous Tekkers. Just as we were getting tonight's episode ready a verdict came down in the CM Punk/Colt Cabana trial. We will discuss that at the top of the hour along with the semi cryptic tweet posted this morning by Austin Aries and directed to a former opponent. Speaking of Aries, he just retired a championship belt. If you've ever heard one woman tell another "I'm gonna snatch you bald" this past Sunday night Asuka literally kicked someone almost bald. Recent WWE Hall Of Fame inductee Jeff Jarrett stepped back n the ring in Mexico since his disasteous Triplemania entrance that cost him his position at Impact Wrestling and it was impressive. Is there a Hurricane coming to Ring Of Honor? Yes there is, so stand back! We have a full lineup for Saturday night's New Japan Dominion event that will contain the Jericho/Naito match and it looks very strong. RAW last night added a new level to "management" that is starting to resemble the old "Authority" storyline and we'll discuss the viability of it. Along with SmackDown Live and other Money In The Bank news we plan on entertaining you for two hours.

This week the five-time champ talks to the good Hurricane, Hurricane Helms. On the show Booker T also talks about his live show happening in L.A. before No Mercy as well as UFC Fight Night.
Shane "Hurricane" Helms has plenty to say about being a heel, a babyface, and a tweener (and he's talking to you, Darth Vader). He's adapted to the changing business, the presentation of the product, the ring style of his various gimmicks, and what it means to bring "the gaga." He has a best body of work, a favorite character, and insight into his relationship with Vince McMahon. Shane's also sharing thoughts on WWE's Backlash event and Jinder Mahal's future, along with a few words of wisdom for Charlotte Flair!

Stand Back! There's a Hurricane coming to TIJ... Hurricane Helms! He was Chris Jericho's last travel partner, and they are telling some of their crazier road stories. You'll also hear why his WWE debut didn't go exactly as planned, what really happened between him and Buff Bagwell, who came up with the super hero-themed Hurricane Helms gimmick, and why losing to The Undertaker was one of the best matches he ever had. Plus, Hurricane's currently an agent for TNA Impact Wrestling, and has plenty to say about the company, their roster, and their current live show.

Michael rejoins the crew as they reshape an uninteresting week of wrestling into an immensely entertaining hour (or so) of audio. They discuss how WWE should open its vault to the public, wonder what's taking Gail Kim so long, plan out what should be next for Randy Orton's "Legacy", rename the Ezekiel Jackson's finisher, approve of Paul and Katie Lea Burchill on ECW, point out that Hurricane Helms's return is over and are underwhelmed by Kizarny. They then respond to some listener email about European wrestling and weigh in on the Powerslam Magazine Top 50 Wrestlers of 2008. Intro song: "Now is the Time" by Dope from the album "Group Therapy" Outro song: "Barefoot" by Ray Collins Hot Club from the album "Tohuwabohu" Both songs are available on iTunes Show them that podcasting sells records!
