This week on The Diamond Duo Podcast, Tom and Tony think they're free from the horror of having to re-record segments in the middle of the week, but alas, they underestimate the power of Steve Cohen's wallet and his desire to build a super team. The two begin innocently enough by listing off what they think are the biggest transactions of the past two weeks; this includes names like Xander Bogaerts signing with the Padres, Dansby Swanson taking his talent to the Cubs, Sean Murphy being shipped to the Braves in a three way deal, and Carlos Correa inking a 13 year deal with the Giants. Oh wait, I'm sorry did we say Giants? I meant the Mets, specifically in the middle of the night just far enough ahead of Sunday for Tom and Tony to have to scrap an entire conversation about Correa going to San Fran - thanks for that, Steve :). Outside of the free agency market, the duo construct their mock Hall Of Fame Ballots for the upcoming election and construct their Teams Of The Year via a draft. It's been a crazy fun 2022 that we've shared with you; thank you so much for choosing to spend part of your year with us, no matter how big or small that part was. We'll see you in the New Year, but until then, enjoy Episode 51 of The Diamond Duo Podcast! NOTE: the Teams Of The Year draft was recorded for Episode 50 but needed to be cut for time. With it being recycled here, keep an eye out for those social media graphics to vote for your favorite! In this episode we talk baseball! More specifically, the Hall of Fame vote. With the 2022 announcement just a few days away we reveal our personal ballots for this year's MLB Hall of Fame class. Listen in as we engage in spirited debate over controversial topics such as whether the suspicion or confirmation of performance enhancing drug use should overshadow otherwise outstanding career results; the watering down of the Hall in recent years; and the worthiness of the Designated Hitter position in this museum. In between thoughts we also partake in tasting a few collaboration beers from the likes of Bissell Brothers, Tilted Barn Brewing, Belleflower and Blaze Brewing. This was a fun episode for us to record... we hope you enjoy this entry as much as we!

Today's word of the day is ‘mutual' as in reciprocal as in connected as in bilateral as in Carlos Correa and the Chicago Cubs reportedly have mutual interest. How was it announced after December 1st in a lockout? Hmmmm. (14:20) Former MLB columnist Michael Hunt has not voted for a baseball player to the Hall of Fame for the 2nd consecutive year in a row. Two years ago he only voted for Derek Jeter. Is this fair? (25:15) The Gator Bowl will go on. Rutgers has accepted the bid to play against Wake Forest. (29:45) Review: Belfast. (33:45) NPPOD. In this episode of the Total Bases Podcast, Felipe (Twitter @pathological_h8) is joined by Dan as they talk about baseball and American history as part of their discussion about the 2022 Early Baseball and Golden Days Eras National Baseball Hall of Fame ballots. The show starts off with discussions about the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and its importance in both baseball and American history as the guys break down all 10 players on the Early Baseball ballot, which includes seven players from the old Negro Leagues and discuss the absurdity of the racial color barrier that existed in early 20th century America that spilled over into the game of baseball and prevented the game from seeing the absolute best baseball players compete against each other regardless of skin of color. From their, the show then talks about the Golden Days ballot and analyze all nine players (and one manager) achievements on the field and the statistical accomplishments they compiled while also bringing these players to life by sharing some anecdotes about each player. The show ends when both Dan and Felipe share who they would have voted for if they were in both of these committees as they now wait patiently to see who these committees will induct into the 2022 Baseball Hall of Fame class, which announcements will be made on December 5, 2021. Welcome in Slumpbusters! On this episode the Slumpbuster podcast, Ju-Ju & Kyle give you the latest sporting headlines in the world of Major League Baseball and the National Football League. Major League Baseball has released the names of individuals debuting for the first time on the Hall of Fame ballot. Some notable first time names include Tim Lincecum, Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder and Jimmy Rollins. While those players are eligible for the first time there are gigantic names eligible for the last time. Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling will be on the ballot once more and then no longer. Bonds and Clemens have been withheld from the hall due to their involvement in baseballs fabled Steroid Era. Schilling, a multiple time World Series Champion, has been under fire for his political beliefs. Will this be the year Bonds, Clemens and Shilling finally get inducted into immortality? Kyle & Ju-Ju give their 10 names they would give votes toward. Our next segment we preview NFL Week 12 and give our predictions for the following games: Minnesota Vikings (+3) @ San Francisco 49ers Cleveland Browns (+3.5) @ Baltimore Ravens Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3) @ Indianapolis Colts Tennessee Titans (+7) @ New England Patriots Los Angeles Rams (-1) @ Green Bay Packers We close out the show by speculating on the offseason quarterback market. Will Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Derek Carr and others find new homes in 2022? Who are some teams that should be in the hunt? Can the New York Giants figure things out and should they clear house of Joe Judge and David Gettleman? Enjoy!
