Bodies drifting aloft through the endless night. Alone. Aimless. Remnants from the assembly of existence. Celestial slag cast into the void. A building block of creation in search of a new creator. To the United Colonies, these unbound boulders are nothing more than a nuisance. God's refuse en route to a cosmic waste bin. The KERKHOVEN, a United Colonies mapping vessel, is manned by a four-person crew. Their pervue is the documentation of meteors, comets, and other orphaned celestial debris that threatens the shipping routes between the Alpha Centauri and the independent systems. Most days are dull and produce no object in which to judge at all. But one day in particular will bring, not the judging of space rocks, but the value of human life...Transmission 1.4....commence.CAST:Carson Holbrook, Captain, Kerkhoven | ALEX JAMES KANEGinger Eix, First Mate, Kerkhoven | DoraTrix DORATRIXKellen “Salsa” Verde, Science Officer, Kerkhoven | BEC HUEGGSEston Bloom, Maintenance, Kerkhoven | DR. Hey hey BATT Family! Welcome back to another main episode of the pod. This week, since we're on a five, we've got a guest with us as we do our Top Ten Games that We Enjoy Teaching! It's a bit of an askew topic to go with, but it was selected by our guest (Erik!) and it was a fun list to go through. This did end up taking two passes to fully record as the first version of it was lost in the flood (boo!). At this point though, that should be the last time you see/hear that as an excuse because we're well beyond everything that was effected by it now. So we hope you enjoy the list and be sure to hit us up and tell us what your favourite games to teach are!  --- This episode's segments: 00:00:00 - Intro / How We Met 00:01:56 - List Selection Criteria 00:03:28 - Scott's 10 00:05:01 - Erik's 10 00:06:14 - Mark's 10 00:10:18 - Scott's 9 00:11:58 - Erik's 9 00:13:23 - Mark's 9 00:15:26 - Scott's 8 00:18:13 - Erik's 8 00:19:56 - Mark's 8 00:22:10 - Scott's 7 00:24:27 - Erik's 7 00:26:17 - Mark's 7 00:27:58 - Scott's 6 00:29:27 - Erik's 6 00:32:46 - Mark's 6 00:34:54 - Scott's 5 00:37:09 - Erik's 5 00:39:02 - Mark's 5 00:43:47 - Scott's 4 00:49:08 - Erik's 4 00:52:04 - Mark's 4 00:53:10 - Scott's 3 00:55:09 - Erik's 3 00:57:30 - Mark's 3 00:59:51 - Scott's 2 01:01:59 - Erik's 2 01:03:36 - Mark's 2 01:05:38 - Scott's 1 01:06:47 - Erik's 1 01:09:26 - Mark's 1 01:12:18 - Contact Info / Sponsors 01:13:40 - Outro --- Notes! 1) Sorry for the all of a sudden laughing at the intro of Erik's number 10. There was a great bit that just derailed the conversation we were all laughing at right before. You'll likely hear that in the next Odds and Ends episode. 2) Ironically, I had a conversation with my brother this past weekend where he told me he's never played Yahtzee. Whoops. 3) I have to now admit that Amun-Re is my favourite Reiner Knizia game. Whoops again! That said, I do enjoy the teach of High Society more, so I stand by it's inclusion in the list. And we did end up playing it after recording! 4) If it sounds like you may have missed part of the conversation during the Hogwarts Battle segment - that's because you did. The guys got distracted by comparing it to other games in it's series and it became a fairly convoluted conversation where even I had to ask which game we were talking about. So hopefully the segment comes across more naturally than I'm thinking it did because it's really late as I'm editing and I was very confused the second time around too. 5) I left the thing about gaming meta jokes in because we're in the process of recording our Board Gaming 101 episode to help you understand all of our terminology! If you have anything you're questioning or don't know the answer to, hit us up on any of our contact methods and let us know which ones we should define! (Also my exasperation is largely because we're all in this space, it seems wild they'd never heard of a point salad before.) 6) If it feels like there's not a ton of conversation about Werewolf in Erik's number 2, that's because MOST of what was there got cut for future Odds and Ends episodes. We tangented hard by just telling crazy stories. 7) This was recorded about 6 weeks before MacWagCon so it's entertaining to me that Captain Sonar showed up for two episodes in (what became) a row. Also, I meant to say First Mate instead of Navigator.  --- You can email us at boardallthetimegaming@gmail.com. Gurdip and Justin continue their discussion of 1967's "Double Trouble" as this infamous Elvis film finally introduces its more zany comedic elements with The Wiere Brothers, Helene Winston's grabby "Gerda" and a goofy Captain and First Mate intent on blowing up their own ship. The wacky side characters liven up the back half of the story - though the script remains equally as confusing and its attempts at absurdity flounder.  But - what if there's a twist to the story of Double Trouble that no one's ever pondered before that may make revisiting the film a bit more tolerable in the future? Justin's come up with a theory that may change the way you view the movie, though definitely not intended by the filmmakers! In this week's podcast, Wendy K Laidlaw is delighted to share ANOTHER 'heal endometriosis naturally' success story! Meet Harriet, from the UK, who is an experience and sought-after First Mate who leads yacht crews sailing all around the world.  However, from the young age of 15 years old she was in chronic debilitating pain every month. Her period became so bad at school that she would often have to run out of class due to the pain, cramps and nausea, and spent a lot of time in the medical room. In her early twenties she got an internal ultra sound scan that confirmed the existence of endometriosis and cysts. Whilst Harriet would learn how to handle the chronic fatigue and adjust her shifts round her pain, the apprehension of her monthly cycles haunted her.  That's when Harriet went on to Google and found Wendy's book (How I Ended My Endometriosis Naturally) on Amazon, read it through and then signed up for the 21 Day Unstoppable EndoBoss® Challenge.  Harriet then attended the in-person live Embracing Emotions Retreat in Portugal with Wendy K Laidlaw and was offered a place in the EndoBoss® Academy. It was through the 12 months EndoBoss® Academy with the expert support and guidance that she would learn how to address 'The Five P's' (Poisons: produce, products, property, people, and past) that contribute to endometriosis. After almost a decade in monthly pain, Harriet now experiences pain-FREE periods!  She has improved energy, and better overall health including stronger hair and nails, and softer skin. Harriet has also learned the importance of paying attention to her emotions (as messengers) and setting boundaries with demanding or toxic people, which has empowered her and transformed her life. Will you be our next EndoBoss® and start on your own EndoBoss® journey of healing and self-discovery? It follows Sanger Rainsford, a big-game hunter who ends up on an isolated Caribbean island. There, he meets General Zaroff, a hunter who has grown bored with traditional games and now hunts humans. Zaroff gives Rainsford a choice: be hunted or join in the hunt. Rainsford refuses and becomes Zaroff's next target. Family Life Noon Report - July 4, 2024 "Freedom & Faith" On this special edition of the Family Life Noon Report: Actor Gary Sinise tells his story of how portraying Lieutenant Dan changed his life, and how he and his movie character has changed the lives of those in military service, their families, veterans, and -- especially -- disabled veterans. [Spoiler alert: Forrest Gump's commanding officer became a paraplegic because of his military service in Vietnam.]  The award-winning, generational-touchstone movie Forrest Gump entered America's consciousness -- and our national conscience -- when it debuted 30 years ago this weekend. Christian professor Caleb Verbois gives us insight into how the Christian faith shaped America's founding generation and their documents. The Declaration of Independence and the U.S Constitution are rooted in Biblical tradition and Christian priorities. Political History professor Jeff Bloodworth talks about the extreme personal risks taken by Colonists who chose to rebel against the British king. He also told us that modern-day political turmoil and divisiveness is nothing new. Debate, derision and name-calling are a quintessial aspect of being a democracy -- and has been throughout two and a half centuries of U.S. history. The "free exercise" and "establishment" clauses are the parallel protections of religious freedom in the First Amendment. But, as we hear from Biblical scholar Paul Kemeny, the United States might have come close to having one official religion for at least some colonies in the new nation, but it was stopped by protests in the decade between the Declaration and the Constitution. Without that early advocacy for full religious liberty without government entanglements, freedom of religion would have been shaped very differently.   Our guests for this Faith & Freedom-themed holiday special:         Dr. Caleb Verbois is Professor of Political Science at Grove City College (Erie, Pennsylvania) Dr. Jeff Bloodworth is Professor of History and Director of the Public Service and Global Studies Program at Gannon Dean Paul Kemeny leads the School of Arts and Letters, as well as teaching Bible and Religious studies at Grove City College Academy-award-winning actor Gary Sinise portrayed Forrest Gump's commanding officer (and First Mate on Gump's shrimp boat) in the 1994 movie Forrest Gump. His Gary Sinise Foundation is active in supporting current and previous American service personnel. The American Veterans Center conducted the Gary Sinise interview. You can listen to or watch his longer conversation about Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, his full acting and directing career, and how disabled veterans have given him spiritual renewal and a meaningful life purpose.   Family Life's News Producer Greg Gillispie hosts this July 4 half-hour special.

Hungover, he heard the sound of a ship's bell ring out eight times at 4:00 a.m., signaling “all's well.” Only one month later, Myers would be back on the radio, but this time, sharing his newfound faith in Jesus. What happened in between is the extraordinary story of how Myers would go on to found a Christian radio program that continues till this day. At that point, it was called “Haven of Rest,” and Paul Myers would endearingly become known as First Mate Bob. Now, 90 years later, that ministry is called Haven Today — the very same ministry publishing this podcast. Hear Paul Myers tell this story in his own words. Blackbeard's Treasure by Jenny Dolly词汇提示1.skull 头骨2.cheat 欺骗3.stocks 手足枷4.First Mate 大副5.crow's nest 桅杆瞭望塔6.rectangular 矩形原文Chapter IV: Blackbread's True LoveThe men on Captain Pike's ship were very different from the British sailors of the Queen Anne. They played cards all night, and if they lost, they fought with each other. They were only sailing to the Bermuda Triangle to find Blackbeard's treasure and steal anything else they could.Their ship looked like the Queen Anne, except for the flag flying above the sails. It was black, with a white skull and cross bones on it.This was the mark of the pirates. Some of the men were about to throw a man into the sea for cheating at cards when Captain Pike stopped them."What's going on here? Are you trying to kill each other before we find the gold?""This one was trying to cheat us at cards. We can't have that, can we?""That we can't my friend, but we're waiting for a treasure much bigger than the one you play cards for. Put him in the stocks for a day and let him think about things there."The stocks were two pieces of wood with three round holes in them. The men placed the prisoner's head and hands in the holes. Then, they lowered the top and they locked him inside. He had to stand up the whole time.Captain Pike was standing next to his First Mate, Santiago, at the wheel of the ship.Santiago asked him about the danger of finding Blackbeard's Treasure."They say no one can take Blackbeard's treasure. Why do you think you can?""I think that Blackbeard and I are the same kind of pirate. He wanted everything, and he knew how to get it. When I see that treasure, when I put my hands on it,there's nothing that can make me lose it."There was a pirate in a small seat above the sails, looking at the ocean through a telescope. This was called the crow's nest, and he was the first to see Blackbeard's ship sailing ahead of them.He whistled to the men below:"Ship, straight ahead!"Captain Pike put a telescope up to his eye.He saw Blackbeard's empty ship, then yelled to the man who was steering."Go straight for it! This is what we're looking for!"Captain Pike and some of his men went aboard the empty ship, but they couldn't find any treasure.Santiago thought they made a mistake."Maybe this isn't Blackbeard's ship. It could be a ship lost at sea.""There's only one way to find out."Captain Pike went below to Blackbeard's cabin and Santiago followed him.It was dark and the captain had to light a candle. He walked with the candle to one of the cabin walls where there was a round, old picture of a woman. She was a beautiful dark woman with large, dark round eyes. Her black hair was tied at the back of her head, and she had a gold necklace with around, green stone around her neck."Who is it Captain?""It's a woman who was once the Queen of one of these islands. They say Blackbeard was in love with her. They say she was the reason for his death. He came here to marry her and give her all of the jewels he had. No one ever saw him again, and no one's ever found the treasure. This must be his ship."They went upstairs and Captain Pike told his men to begin taking up the boards on deck to see if the treasure was hidden and where. While the men were doing this, Pike saw a clear rectangular spot left by the chest after Captain Scott took it.The whole deck was grey and dirty except for this one spot where the chest was for so many years."Stop!"The men stopped searching and looked at Captain Pike.He raised his hand in the air and looked at the clean spot on the deck."Someone has been here before Us!"

Dracula by Bram Stoker chapter 7, narrated by Isaac BirchallTwo newspaper clippings that Mina stuck in her journal, indicate that the rogue ship that the coastguard pointed out to Mina, a cargo ship called the Demeter has washed up on the Whitby coast. The crew of the ship is nowhere to be found, and the only being to be found on the ship was the captain, dead, and strapped to the wheel, clutching a crucifix. When the ship crashed ashore, a great dog leaped from the hold, and fled away from the ship, running up the steps and away into the countryside. The only cargo, a large number of wooden boxes were delivered to a Whitby solicitor. The captain's log was found on his body, and in the following newspaper clipping, the Demeter's voyage from Russia to England was detailed. The trip started as normal as any other, but after ten days, a crewmember went missing. Shortly after, another crewmate claimed to see a tall thin man who was definitely not a crewmate in the hold. A search of the ship found no stowaways, but every day following the search, a crewmate went missing. The whole crew started to become numb with fear, and the First Mate began to go mad. By the time the ship came in sight of the English coast, only four men were still around to help sail the vessel. But just as they set sail a great fog set in, preventing them from getting near the coast. Another two sailors disappeared in the fog, and the first mate went below deck to see if he could find them. He however let out a great wail, and ran onto deck and threw himself into the English sea. That night, the captain tied himself to the wheel of the ship, determined to stay with his ship until the very end. After the newspaper clippings end, Mina recounts her own story of the night of the storm, and her fears for Johnathan and Lucy's continued sleepwalking. The following day, the Sea captain was found dead in the seat in the graveyard that overlooks the harbour. This seems only to agitate Lucy more…Get SurfShark and protect yourself online todayVPN: https://get.surfshark.net/aff_c?offer_id=926&aff_id=20389Antivirus: https://get.surfshark.net/aff_c?offer_id=934&aff_id=20389Get data brokers to stop selling your information with:Incogni: https://get.incogni.io/aff_c?offer_id=1219&aff_id=20389Thank you so much for listening, if you want to support the me go to any of these links :)*Social*SHOPIFY: https://the-essential-reads.myshopify.com/INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/theessentialreadsTWITTER: http://twitter.com/isaacbirchall98Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/theessentialreadsSupport the showThank you so much for listening, if you want to support the me go to any of these links :)*Social*SHOPIFY: https://the-essential-reads.myshopify.com/INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/theessentialreadsTWITTER: http://twitter.com/isaacbirchall98Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/theessentialreads

The flagship of his pirate fleet, The Whydah Gally, shipwrecked and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean where it stayed until 1984. Now, more than 300 years after the wreck, HBH is excited to be joined by the man who discovered the Whydah, Underwater Archaeologist, Explorer and Author: Barry Clifford. The only pirate shipwreck in the world whose whose identity is unquestionably authenticated, the Whydah contained a vast treasure including the booty from more than 50 ships which the 140-plus man crew had pirated, as well as 60 cannons. Surprisingly, the 110-foot Whydah contained much more than its buried treasure. Also excavated was extensive evidence and documentation that perhaps the most progressive, diverse and inclusive democracies in the world at the time were found on-board pirate ships, 59 years before the founding of the United States. Moreover, due to a promise to his close friend and First Mate, John F. Kennedy Jr., none of the artifacts from the Whyda shipwreck have ever been sold. They are on display at the incredible Whydah Pirate Museum in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Barry Clifford is the author of seven books including ‘Expedition Whydah: The Story of the World's First Excavation of a Pirate Treasure Ship and the Man Who Found Her'.

On another episode of the DIVI crypto podcast, Steve is joined by the only crypto rich, the first mate on the first-class ship, and a good ship pirate chain representative. He was a former child protection social worker, and he spent a lot of time trading in developing work. CryptoRich learned a course that figures everything about money, ironically, not on how to invest it. Realizing how he didn't know this stuff influenced his initiative in researching fractional reserve banking, gold, and silver, all the things that would be useful to know, but the school doesn't teach. CryptoRich discovered and purchased some Bitcoins in 2013, but later took a deep dive into it. In April 2017, he posted content about what he learned from Bitcoins five to eight times a week on his channel. Some insights were brought from a content creator perspective, which sparks interest from other people in different social platforms. -- Divi is creating the world's first closed-loop, vertically-integrated cryptocurrency ecosystem. Much like Apple's ecosystem is anchored by iCloud, the Divi Project blockchain serves as the core of the Divi network of technologies. Thanks to a keen understanding of the divide that separates the mainstream from the crypto world, the Divi team is able to create solutions to the industry's biggest problem: adoption by non-technical users. Divi's user-friendly, one-click solutions aim to bring blockchain-based payments into modernity with great UX. In this podcast, we will cover all aspects of cryptocurrency, hot topics, and technology as worldwide adoption grows.

Nightmare Magazine - Horror and Dark Fantasy Story Podcast (Audiobook | Short Stories)

3 Harvest: Arcon Glass came to dinner in my cabin tonight. A rarity; he has declined all previous invitations on pretext of work. Over dessert, First Mate Law asked him if the Guild of Natural Philosophers' purpose in sponsoring this voyage is to research a solution to the overfishing of the whale-routes. Law has been my First Mate for a decade now and I bear the man a great affection, but he has a dockhand's lack of tact for all that he wears an officer's badge. Glass did not seem offended by the directness of the question, and answered that it was exactly as we had surmised. | Copyright 2018 by Nibedita Sen. Narrated by Stefan Rudnicki.
