In this special, in between seasons, compilation, we mash together our previous four episodes about the last book of the New Testament. The finest final chapter. The most metal maelstrom of mayhem and madness. The epilogue to end all epilogues. The volume of vengeful violence that is, the Book of Revelation! Volume 1 contains the previously released episodes,Book of Revelation 00 Prologue of the EpilogueBook of Revelation 01 First Chapter of the Final ChapterBook of Revelation 02 Where Satan DwellsBook of Revelation 03 I Will Come In To Him Many apologists, theologians, academics, historians and scholars have pondered the inclusion of this Lovecraftian hallucination in the final draft of the Chri$tian Bible. We will look at the various theories as they come up. The prologue includes cameo appearances from, The Bible, the Rapture, John of Patmos, Roman Emperors Domitian, Vespasian, Titus, Nero and Caligula. We'll also meet Epaphroditus, Eusebius, Josephus and D.H. Lawrence. Did you know you are blessed just to read it or hear it read? Did you now this book is a cornerstone of conspiracy theories like Flat Earth Theory and the Holy Trinity? Does it allude to the Holy Ghost or the Archangels? What's the deal with John and the number seven? Will we see the saviour coming in the clouds? Will he or won't he have a two edged sword in his mouth? Will he sound like a fart or diarrhoea? Did you know it gives you a description including but not limited to Christ's breasts? And why does John mansplain away his poetic metaphors? I chapter two, John will explain to the church of Ephesus just how much the ultimate creator god of the entire universe is upset about a wife swapping cult of Nicolaitanes. John explains quantum physics to the church in Smyrna and proves once and for all Jesus is Schrodinger's Cat.John doxes Satan's home in Pergamon. And among the church in Thyatira, we finally meet, Jezebel! And she does not disappoint. She repented not!Is this book prophecy of a future still to come?Is this book a coded message of rebellion for the early Chri$tian freedom fighters in their struggle with the Roman Empire? Is this book xenophobic propaganda to stop Hellenising?Who cares? In this episode we once again, pick up the Book of Revelation at chapter three and continue calling out early Christian churches in Asia Minor for not being Christian enough. For not hating enough. For not paying enough. We have already done three episodes on this book which you can easily find in the feed. But for those of you who have not studied for this exam, here's a quick recap. John of Patmos is sitting all alone in a cave like a totally normal person, writing a letter to seven churches in modern day Turkey. Back in chapter two, he started to pretend he was Jesus. So far John pretending to be Jesus has called out the church of Ephesus for not loving Jesus hard enough. But praised them for hating a cult of wife swappers. He's warned the church of Smyrna the devil is coming to town to incarcerate them all. He's called out the church of Pergamon for eating barbeque and fornicating. Then he told Pergamon Jesus was coming with a sword in his mouth to fight them all. John has singled out a member of the church of Thyatira called Jezebel. For also eating barbeque and fornicating. What on earth has chapter three got in install for us?Special guest appearances by Frankenfurter, Sardis, playstation, Christmas, Philadelphia, David, Cheech, Chong, Cheech and Chong, Billy Graham, Richard Nixon, Ron DeSantis, Disney World, robux, Laodiceans, Donald Trump, Mordor and the Roman Empire #666 #SketchComedy #Sketch #Comedy #Sketch Comedy #Atheist #Science #History #Atheism #Antitheist #ConspiracyTheory #Conspiracy #Conspiracies #Sceptical #Scepticism #Mythology #Religion #Devil #Satan #Bible #Skeptic #Debunk #SatanIsMySuperhero #Podcast #funny #sketch #skit #comedy #comedyshow #comedyskits #HeavyMetal #weird #RomanEmpire #Rome #AncientRome #Romans #RomanEmperor

The Salt 'N Pepa song, Let's Talk About Sex, Baby, could well be the theme song for this week's episode because that's exactly what we're talking about with our special guest, Wala Truscott, who is a relationship, intimacy and attraction facilitator, professional touch therapist, and The Wheel of Consent teacher. If your relationship has lost is flames of desire and attraction, Wala has some hope-giving insights to share. Instead of an SA Drink Of The Week this week, we're going to chat about some SA condiments with the team from Beerenberg Farm, to celebrate the opening of their new Farm Cafe & Dairy. In particular, Steve gets to meet THE Uncle Steve of Beerenberg Chutney fame. And in the Musical Pilgrimage, we finish off with a smouldering song from 2015 by Adie Haines. Plus, BIG NEWS, we just won Silver for Best Interview Podcast at the Australian Podcast Awards. You can navigate episodes using chapter markers in your podcast app. Not a fan of wine? Oh, and here's our index of all episode in one concise page Running Sheet: Let's talk about sex, baby00:00:00 Intro Introduction to the show. 00:04:12 SA Drink Of The Week This week, it's actually a meet and greet with some fine people from Beerenberg Farm, to mark the opening of their new Farm Cafe & Dairy. We meet Sally Paech, marketing director, and talk with two people who are "famous" for being on the labels of sought after products, namely, Uncle Steve and Nikki. 00:14:06 Wala Truscott Wala Truscott works with singles and couples who are struggling with resentment in their relationships, so they can move to a place of having open, honest and uncomfortable conversations with their partners and ultimately achieve a strengthening of their "relationship certainty" and a deepening of their sexual connection. So, in borrowing the words of Frankenfurter from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, why don't you come into this chat, and where it's all at. I'm glad you're shivering in an-tici-pation. Wala, welcome to The Adelaide Show. Before get in too deep, is the presence of absence of anticipation a good "canary in the coalmine" when it comes to measuring the sensual or intimate health of a relationship? I noted that you shared on LinkedIn that you were looking forward to this chat so that we could explore why relationships either deepen or dwindle. So let's start there because I just heard a respected social scientist say on a podcast recently (I think it was Sam Harris's Making Sense podcast, but it could have been Paul Bloom on the Very Bad Wizards podcast), that if you counted the number of times a married couple has sex in their first year of marriage, you can then start counting down from that with every subsequent year for the rest of their lives and you will never reach zero. Is that what you'd call a "dwindling" relationship? Why is sex and/or intimacy so important to a relationship? We know it has physical and psychological benefits, so is there reason to be suspicious when someone says they're relationship has "moved on" from sexual relationships? As I grew up, my dad was a priest and he'd often take a text from the Bible to guide his sermons, so I'm going to follow suite BUT I'll be choosing as my text, Kiss, by Prince. Wala, I'd like you to reflect on the healthiness or otherwise of some of the statements in this song. You don't have to be beautiful To turn me on I just need your body, baby From dusk 'til dawn You don't need experience To turn me out Comments? Then he sings: You just leave it all up to me I'm gonna show you what it's all about This seems a bit one-sided? Or can that be a good thing? Let's continue: I just want your extra time and your Kiss Does he stumble into some gold here. Is intimacy really about "time" and "focus"? Some last quotes: You got to not talk dirty, baby If you wanna impress me (ah) You can't be too flirty, mama I know how to undress me, yeah I want to be your fantasy Maybe you could be mine Do people often reach for dirty talk or sexting, thinking it's a turn on, when it might not be? How would you talk about this? And finally: Women, not girls, rule my world I said they rule my world Act your age, mama (not your shoe size) As someone who is older and whose body shows the sign of abuse and neglect from working too much instead of being physical, there are two points here. Firstly, it's okay to find out how to be "sexy" while being old (and maybe sexy isn't the term), and secondly, do you think people's own embarrassment about their bodies saps them of the confidence and energy of seeking to reignite the flames of passion for fear that their self-repulsion might be shared by their partner? Here endeth my sermon but a friend of mine - a former priest who these days is an awesome family systems therapist, Brett Williams from Adelaide Night And Day Family Therapy - asks you to comment on this: How come in our society, is sexuality (both its understanding and its practice), controlled by organisations like the porn industry and churches, and then by the media, rather than being influenced by the education and academic world? How do you work with individuals and couples? Take us through the various tools at your disposal. What's your advice for people who are seeking or starting a relationship? And for those of us married or in long term relationships, what are some simple things we could do tonight OR some questions that could start the ball rolling? And are there any good books, movies, TV shows, etc, where either characters demonstrate healthy sexuality OR the have great insights, eg, The Love Languages/ 01:15:34 Musical Pilgrimage In the musical pilgrimage, we have Shut Up And Kiss Me, a song by Adie Haines, first brought to our attention in 2015, and played on our episode in which we interviewed, Samela Harris. In light of the discussion with Wala, this song is a good one to ponder, given the insights that too much dithering in the bedroom and in relationships in general can be a BIG turn off. As we get ready for It: Chapter 2 coming out in September, please enjoy our raucous discussion on the 1990 made for TV movie. The film very competently shrinks 1,138 pages down to a comparatively breezy 192 minute event. Basically, the film is the Tim Curry show. His portrayal of Pennywise the Dancing Clown is so iconic, that it nearly dwarfs his other performances such as The Darkness and Dr. Frankenfurter. Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace (Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Fright Night Part 2), the first episode of the mini series focuses on "The Lucky Seven," rather than "The Losers Club" and their quest to defeat Pennywise. Then, in the second episode, the older (and also sterile) older version of the gang returns to Derry to finish the job. The boys are rolling along in Musical May, and they watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Surprisingly there isn’t as much vulgar and Alabama-like hate in this episode..but don’t you worry, there’s still plenty to be offended about such as: Susan Sarandon’s behavior, her hot daughter, Dan Aykroyd getting fat, Tim’s hatred for Cher yet admiration for Meatloaf, and what would this movie have been like if Lovitz starred as Frankenfurter? Also, Preble shares his experience performing in one play in college, and how the gang should put on their own performance. Halloween is upon us, and to get us in the mood, two infamous supernatural sex-comedies are currently haunting 6th Street Playhouse. Both plays are crammed with witty retorts and sexual innuendo, both feature ghostly visitations and eye-popping fashions—but only one has the Time Warp and a guy dressed in fishnet stockings. Let’s start there. Richard K. O’Brien’s infamous musical The Rocky Horror Show—playing at 6th Street for its third consecutive year—manages the impressive magic trick of transcending its own quirky script deficiencies. Under the direction of Craig Miller, the production employs a kind of theatrical misdirection, distracting audiences from the fact that the story of Rocky Horror is a bit of a mess, by turning the whole show into one joyously raucous, sex-positive “event,” complete with cross-dressing costume contests at the intermission, and a rowdy post-show dance break in which the audience is invited to Time Warp with the cast. Assisted by musical director Justin Pyne, whose magnificent rock band is spot-on perfect, this is a Rocky Horror that brings enough high-spirited fun to outweigh the loony flaws of the story, and additional credit for that should definitely go to the fearless commitment of its cheerfully extroverted cast. As Dr. Frankenfurter—the not-so-sweet transvestite from outer space—Rob Broadhurst unleashes a torrent of high-heeled, pelvis-thrusting glee, and Zach Howard rocks hard as the duplicitous butler Riff Raff. Mark Bradbury and Abbey Lee, as the virginal visitors Brad and Janet, do fearless, first-rate work in the show’s trickiest roles. And nice supporting performances are given by Rose Roberts as the conflicted groupie Columbia, a delightful Zac Schuman in the dual roles of delivery boy Eddie and his government agent uncle Dr. Scott, and Amanda Morando as Riff Raff’s dry-witted sister Magenta. Though haphazardly paced, and plagued with some opening night technical issues, this Rocky Horror succeeds, big time, by brazenly showing it’s true colors—From beginning to end, this is one big dark-humored dance party disguised as a play. After three years, all I can say is, Let’s do the time warp again. On to Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, a drawing comedy that was the Rocky Horror of its time, the story of a milquetoast writer haunted by the ghost of his manipulative first wife while struggling with the passive-aggressive machinations of his second. Directed by Meghan C. Hakes, the 6th Street version delivers visually—with a great set and some very entertaining ghost effects—but it totally misses the mark in terms of its tone and rhythm. Hurt by its tentative pace and some wildly uneven . . . often unintelligible . . . English accents, the show takes what might have been a bracingly tasty martini and turns it into a rather diluted cocktail of clashing, but still slightly fizzy, soft drinks. Despite fine, engaging performances by David Yen as optimistic author Charles, Gina Alvarado as the ghostly femme fatale Elvira, and Lennie Dean as the well-meaning medium Madam Arcati, the production woefully miscalculates the underlying point of the play—which can’t be described without spoiling key second-act surprises—resulting in an ending is a strangely disappointing clash of contrasting ending, on that’s visually magical and the other that is suddenly, unexpectedly un-fun. 'Blithe Spirit' and ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ run Thursday–Sunday through November 8 at 6th Street Playhouse. www.6thstreetplayhouse.com
