A SEAT at THE TABLE: Leadership, Innovation & Vision for a New Era
Digitising product development and design is the way forward - both from a cost cutting and speed to market point of view. However certain aspects of digitising more complex products such as apparel and home textiles are still difficult to do - creating a sticking point for taking this from concept to wide spread implementation. One of those challenges is being able to digitise fabric swatches so that when brought into a 3D design environment they show all the nuances that the fabric would show if viewed in real life. That means capturing subtleties in texture, colour, drape, light reflection - and even hand feel.In a sense, the fabric part of the equation has been sort of the last frontier. However that is about to change. Today I'm sitting down with the man who is at the forefront of a new technology that is making it possible to capture textiles in full detail. Not only that, he and his team have found a way to make this technology accessible to any company - even SME's or solopreneurs.Meet Jorgen Sevild, founder of INQOVA and a partner at Bandicoot. Jorgen has been a pioneer in the development of technology that can solve the problem of creating highly realistic digital textile images. His academic training as an industrial systems engineer gave him the technical knowledge to work on building this system. However years of working hands on in the textile industry have given him that all-important understanding of the nuances of textiles - and how they apply to apparel. It's this perfect pairing of the theoretical and the practical that have helped make Bandicoot such a remarkable solution. In this episode, Jorgen will be discussing1. The key to digitising fabrics so that they look nearly the same in a 3D rendering as they do in real life.2. The simple, affordable technology that is set to revolutionise the digitisation of textiles. 3. What a digitised future looks like - from product development through to retail. One of the biggest challenges that companies face when they look to digitise their design departments - or any other department - is finding that right people with the right skills and experience for this relatively new field of expertise. However without solid leadership and a good team, companies will face more struggle than success as they try to adapt their business to new digital best practices. That's why leading companies turn to Asianet Consultants. They have a long history of helping businesses find the right talent with the right expertise.I've seen them fill even very difficult to fill positions, ones that enterprises have struggled for months to find the right hire for. You can learn more about Asianet Consultants at https://asianetconsultants.comMeanwhile, let's sit down with Jorgen and get an inside look at some incredible new technology.USEFUL LINKS:Asiannetconsultants: https://asianetconsultants.comConnect with Jorgen Sevild: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jorgensevild/Bandicoot Imaging Science website: https://www.bandicootimaging.com/INQOVA website: https://www.inqova.com/Visit A Seat at The Table's website at https://seat.fm
TCW Podcast Episode 184 - A Very Naughty Dog Pt 1 Before "The Last of Us" what eventually became Naughty Dog was founded by two teens Andy Gavin, and Jason Rubin. They were drawn into the uncharted waters of computers by making their first published game Ski Crazed. From there they put on the rings of power to become the youngest game developers for EA releasing a game to outdo Ultima on the Sega Genesis. But EA pulled a thieving move and denied them a reprint of the ambitious game. The dream of them being game developers would have died there had it not been for a new warrior in the console market to challenge them to make a game for the 3DO. With that glorious victory, they went to Hollywood and found that they could get universal recognition by getting Sony to use a Bandicoot to crash onto the world stage. Down in Australia and in New Guinea is a unique and popular marsupial, the Bandicoot. Made famous by the video game Crash Bandicoot, these small animals are nocturnal omnivores and true ecological engineers. There are currently 20 species of Bandicoots, with many endangered and few going extinct in the 20th century. The loss of their habitat and a plethora of invasive species have been devastating to Bandicoots in both Australia and New Guinea. However, many conservation efforts are underway. This week we highlight the survival of the Eastern Banded Bandicoot. Thanks to efforts by Zoos Victoria and other conservation organizations, the Eastern Banded Bandicoot has gone from extinct in the wild, to endangered after being reintroduced. There is so much we can learn from these special animals and a fun one to learn about. Thank you to all our Patreon supporters. We now are hosting monthly Zoom meetings with them, answering questions and getting ideas on which species they want covered. You too can join for one cup of "good" coffee a month. With your pledge you can support your favorite podcast on Patreon and give back to conservation. With the funds we receive each month, we are have been sending money to conservation organizations monthly. We now send a check to every organization we cover, as we feel they all are deserving of our support. Thank you so much for your support and for supporting animal conservation. Please considering supporting us at Patreon HERE.

Today on the podcast we're featuring the group Bandicoot. This Wales quartet has a rip-roaring rock n' roll. Want a full transcript of the show? Get it here! About Bandicoot: Reclaiming for a new generation the poetry of Dylan, the stark beauty and unhinged rock n roll of mid-70s John Cale, and Badfinger's melancholic timeless songcraft, this is Bandicoot. Their sound flows like post-industrial blues through Swansea's rain-soaked concrete streets. Bandicoot has earned a ferocious reputation, thanks to their raucous, overflowing live shows that spin euphorically from post-punk and krautrock to glam stomp and art-pop sensuality at the drop of a note. "Bandicoot are wired instinctively to the cathartic screams of John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, the lustful danger of the Velvet Underground, and CAN's cinematic propulsion. They are the art-house provocateurs of Warhol's Factory brought to life on Swansea's rainy streets" - Libertino Learn more about Bandicoot and listen to their debut single “Dark Too Long” We would love to know what you think about this track! Tell us in an audio comment (leave a message here). Read a full transcription of the show here! Fun fact: Crunch Bandicoot is a cyborg bandicoot created by Dr. Neo Cortex to kill Crash. Since then, he's joined the Bandicoot family as Crash and Coco's older brother. Anyway, we're talking about Naughty Dog's problem with crunch, and whether crunch could save Cyberpunk 2077. Wake the fuck up, samurai. We have a games industry to burn. Note: We recorded this episode a few weeks ago, so some of our information is a little outdated.
