Studio Soundtracks takes listeners behind the scenes of how music is crafted for film and television by hearing directly from composers, songwriters and music professionals in the Entertainment Industry. Listen to inspiring conversations about composition and hear works from Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar-winning film scores on the show. BLAIR MOWAT Blair Mowat has composed well over two hundred scores for film, theatre, and television, with clients ranging from The English National Ballet and The Royal Shakespeare Company to the likes of BBC, SKY & ITV. He is a BAFTA nominated, award-winning composer with over 15 years of experience, and is consistently in high demand. His work includes Class, an acclaimed 8-part Doctor Who spin-off series on BBC One, ITV International / Britbox's hit show McDonald & Dodds, and SKY's The Amazing Mr. Blunden. He composed the music to Russell T Davies's latest drama Nolly, starring Helena Bonham Carter, earning him a TV BAFTA nomination for the score. This collaboration then led on to Men Up, a film Russell exec-produced, airing on BBC1 in late 2023. Doctor Jekyll, a new Hammer Horror film starring Eddie Izzard, will be released in the USA later this year. Blair currently splits his time between Los Angeles, London and Edinburgh. PAUL LEONARD-MORGAN Paul Leonard-Morgan is a BAFTA award-winning, Emmy and Ivor Novello-nominated composer and producer. His unique cinematic style of fusing orchestra with electronica has put him in high demand as a score composer & band producer, as well as a performer and artist in his own right. His film scores include DREDD, LIMITLESS, LAST BREATH, GIGI & NATE and 20th Century Studios BOSTON STRANGLER, starring Keira Knightley, directed by Matt Ruskin. He has worked on a string of projects with Academy-Award winning director Errol Morris including the features THE B-SIDE, MY PSYCHEDELIC LOVE STORY, the award-winning Netflix series WORMWOOD and the Steve Bannon documentary AMERICAN DHARMA. Recent projects include this years' INHERITANCE (teaming up again with Neil Burger), the Sundance feature THE TOMORROW MAN (starring Blythe Danner and John Lithgow), BEST SELLERS (starring Michael Caine and Aubrey Plaza), the Emmy-winning The Hunt For Planet B, directed by Academy-Award nominee Nathaniel Kahn, as well as the HBO feature documentary LUCY THE HUMAN CHIMP. His collaborations with legendary composer Philip Glass began on Amazon's series TALES FROM THE LOOP, winning them numerous awards, and continued with THE GREEN VEIL. After beginning his career working with bands such as No Doubt, Simple Minds, Isobel Campbell, Snow Patrol & Belle and Sebastian, Leonard-Morgan went on to work on films including three short films accompanying Universal Studio's DESPICABLE ME 2 and Fox/Evergreen's $80 million feature animation WALKING WITH DINOSAURS 3D. Leonard-Morgan's first video game soundtrack (EA Games' flagship BATTLEFIELD HARDLINE) was released in 2015, the success of which led him to score WARHAMMER: DAWN OF WAR 3 released in 2017, followed by the global hit CYBERPUNK 2077 and CALL OF DUTY MOBILE in 2021. Recent concert work includes his concerto commission for Orchestre Nationale de Bretagne, which premiered in France in 2021 and his latest album of études for piano and cello which is currently being choreographed by members of the San Francis ballet. Currently you can listen to Paul's score for Showtime's FELLOW TRAVELERS for Paramount+ which is streaming now, written by Academy Award-nominee Ron Nyswaner (PHILADELPHIA). His latest collaboration with Philip Glass, for the documentary feature film THE PIGEON TUNNEL, premiered at Telluride and TIFF, and has received a Critics' Choice Award nomination and Cinema Eye Honors nomination for Best Score. His most recent score can be heard in Netflix's new original drama series, BODKIN (the first series by the Obama's production company Higher Ground) as well as the new feature Last Breath (feat Woody Harrelson).

We head to Miami to tackle a different kind of war... the one on crime. Imagine our surprise to learn that the subject of this episode would be a Battlefield title that wasn't set during a world war. As their final contribution to the world of video games before receiving their marching orders from EA, Visceral Games developed and released this First Person Shooter all about being a cop and immersing yourself in one of those great TV crime dramas that your dad probably likes to watch. The question is whether or not that will translate into a good video game. The good news is that Tom and Chris have done their duty and completed their hour-long tour with this title and now it's time for them to share their experience with you. Will they continue to see how the story ends, or is one episode all they can stomach? What do you think? Let us know! Link to article: https://bit.ly/3FQrfozIt was a little over a month ago that Battlefield 2042 was released, and fans are already claiming the platform ‘has died'. Following an intense marketing campaign, Battlefield 2042 launched around the world, but almost overnight, it became regarded as a trainwreck title. Today, it is officially listed as the worst performing game in the franchise, and one of the lowest-rated videogames in history. But has Battlefield 2042 already died?Let's Look At The NumbersMere days after the launch of Battlefield 2042, the near-modern FPS epic was marked as one of the worst-reviewed games in the history of Steam. Within a single week, more than 30,000 reviews were posted on the PC marketplace platform, with less than a third offering any ‘positive' feedback. According to statistics, Battlefield 2042 rapidly became one of the top ten worst-rated games in the history of the platform.According to Metacritic, Battlefield 2042 is the lowest-rated title in franchise history, which stretches back some twenty years. Before 2042 was released, that title was held by Battlefield: Hardline, a cops-n-robbers style title that dropped in 2014 to an understandably confused audience. Even now, Battlefield 2042 boasts a Metacritic score of just 68%, with an aggregated user score of 2.2 – a remarkably low count for the once-loved franchise.Support the show (https://bit.ly/2XdAlJC)

Would you rather have a game that is buggy and is patched after release like Halo MCC, Assassin’s Creed or deal with delay after delay like with The Witcher and The Division? * MS just announced Xbox One, PC cross-platform play with Fable Legends and Sony will have it with Planteside 2 and Street Fighter 5. Thoughts and options on cross-platform play, is it something you want to see more of? And of course do you think the PC has the “unfair” advantage of keyboard and mouse? * And lastly a fun topic, game(s) you love but everyone you talk to hated (^o^) * Donovan Jokers485: What is your opinion on the new Battlefield Hardline? Is it innovative with the cops vs crims theme or should they have just stuck with the standard military theme? * Christopher Long: Have you ever turned down sex to play video games? * VintageGamer Pvt. Lee- Brown: actually i would like to know you twos favorite Video Game for every (most) genres [RPG, ACTION, FPS, STRATEGY, ETC] * Scott Parks: The king of random right here haha. Hey, I heard that Microsoft was trying to do cross platform online gaming to PC with windows 10. I’d kinda like to hear what others think of that myself. If it would work across other consoles that be great. With 3rd party games of course but it sounds like a great start to end the fan boy war haha. “PC master race” shit haha. * Jamie Butterworth: Glad to see you posting! Unfortunately I don’t have anything constructive to add right now, or any topics that are burning in my brain or else I’d offer to join. I think the only thing really bothering me is my sudden disdain for crowdfunding. Also, as an aside, I have been sharing your videos over on the G@L blog each week since you’re a member of this network

We find a lot about first time guest Desmond and his fascination with dead animals. The two Rob's have nothing new to report. They discuss The Last of Us Remastered, guess who is not behind this game? Handsome tried to explain two new games he is playing, Gods Will be Watching and Darkwood. They still can't it out. Desmond is playing Shovel Knight and says it's "rad" and Battlefront 2 and says it "blows." Angry Rob went down the Dota 2 wormhole and might not ever come out. In the news they talk about Cryteks new business model, if we need another Walking Dead Game, a minimum of 60% of the people who shop at Game Stop aren't smart. A website leak says Sony is going to announce new games for PS4 that have already been out for PS3. GOG.com messes up but their fans pay anyway. Battlefield Hardline gets delayed and they could not be happier. Angry Rob figures he should get approximately $400k for the PSN outage. And finally EA announced EA Access. We didn’t do any E3 coverage on the blog this year, but seeing as I’m now rooming with former Ani-Gamers Podcast co-host Mitch Dyer (a.k.a. MitchyD), I figured “why not get Mitch on to talk about E3?” Topics include Nintendo goggles, the “difficulty” of adding women to video games, space simulation games both real (No Man’s Sky) and vapor (Infinity), and Smash Bros: MUGEN Edition. Show notes and links after the break. DIRECT DOWNLOAD – RSS Feed – iTunes – Send us Feedback! – More episodes  (Runtime: 52 minutes) Opening Song: “Read Or Die Theme” by Taku Iwasaki (our old opening music from back when Mitch co-hosted!) Our guest is IGN Editor and former Ani-Gamers Podcast co-host Mitch Dyer. We talk about E3 2014, the huge annual video game trade show in Los Angeles. Nintendo showed off Super Smash Bros. (new characters: Palutena, Mii Fighter, and Pac-Man), a new open-world Legend of Zelda game, Toad’s Treasure Tracker, and Splatoon. Mitch’s favorite game at the show was Rainbow Six: Siege, the demo of which sparked an outrage about female representation in games. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Unity has four playable co-op characters, all of whom are dudes, prompting MORE gender representation controversy. Mitch liked Battlefield: Hardline, a.k.a. “Battlefield: Cops & Robbers.” No Man’s Sky is a cool procedurally generated space exploration game. Infinity is a still-in-development game (not shown at E3, just something Evan likes) with a similar concept, but a more realistic art style. We loop back and chat about Super Smash Bros. again. In the outro we name drop Star Wars: Battlefront and Mirror’s Edge 2, two games that EA teased but didn’t have full trailers for. Check out Mitch’s stuff at IGN (IGN Arena is his new MOBA podcast) and Rebel FM. Otaku USA Magazine: Evan and Ink wrote articles for the new issue (cover is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). Evan wrote about Yuyushiki and Red Data Girl (that one was supposed to be in the last issue) and Ink wrote about Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They? (it’s credited as “Evan Minto” but it’s really Ink) Twitter: Ani-Gamers, Evan, Mitch Email us at podcast@anigamers.com! Ending Song: “WORLD END (Instrumental)” by FLOW (our old ending music!)

This week the 'Cocks are laser focused and talking E3! Recording right after the Sony E3 press conference they talk about the XBOX, EA, Ubi Soft and Sony press conferences. They go over their highlights, some things that they didn't like. Did the XBOX focus on games, games, games take that concept a little too far? What games stuck out to them? They try to answer the question, why is XBOX the best place to play video games. And go over some of the games shown, including the new Crackdown game titles Crackdown, The Witcher 3 and others. They also pontificate over the number of times the word Kinect was mentioned and the number of times it was shown. Ea made it clear that there will be a new Mass Effect game as well as a brand new IP from Bioware, do the 'Cocks even care? Angry Rob has thoughts on FIFA 15. Madden impresses. The Battlefield Hardline beta breaks PSN then breaks Angry Rob's heart. Ubi Impresses with their showing of strong games. So much so that the boys have a hard picking the one game they liked most from Ubi. Handsome Rob and Nick sell Angry Rob on The Division. Angry Rob poops his pants over the new Rainbow Six game. Kevin predictably gushes over AC Unity. Sony closes out the show. Not to be outdone, they had a few tricks up their sleeve as well. But did they do enough to impress the 'Cocks? YouTube is coming, one of the 'Cocks thinks that will be the biggest thing out of this year's E3. Project Beast gets a real name. No Man's Sky, thoroughly impresses all of the 'Cocks. The Last Guardian still doesn't get shown. And yes, the new Uncharted ends the show and gets a name. Music: Intro "Only" by Kris Keyser Outro "Summer Holidays vs Punk Routine" by The Refused
