Ohio's labor market remains incredibly tight, but Central Ohio organizations that are building strong cultures of belonging are attracting top talent from diverse backgrounds. Leading employers know from experience that cultivating a strong and authentic sense of belonging among employees can revolutionize recruitment, engagement, retention, productivity, and ROI, even with remote workers. Recent criticism around DEI in the workplace has sparked concerns that diversity, equity, and inclusion progress could stall, but many employers are not only not abandoning DEI initiatives but deepening them with strategic efforts to build a sense of belonging among employees. They're also ensuring the definition of diversity remains broad and embraces neurodivergent and physically impaired employees, elevating every voice. With a panel of passionate leaders, we'll explore the meaning and value of creating a culture of belonging in the contemporary workplace, and how it's helping key Central Ohio employees and employers to stay at the top of their games. Featuring: Daniel Juday, Founder + Facilitator, Space Creator LLC Dr. Tina Pierce, Chief of Strategy and Belonging, The Ohio State University Alumni Association Jennifer Robinson, Chief Human Resources Officer and Deputy Director, Ohio Department of Veterans Services The moderator is Margaret Finley, Head of DEI and Corporate Affairs, ADS, and President, Board of Directors, Central Ohio Diversity Consortium. In this episode of the Day 0 Update: We talk about the questionable games being remastered by Aspyr, Nintendo's big hardware announcement, and the big Halo news. All this and more, up next! Full show notes can be found here.
In today's Daily Fix: If you've sensed a great disturbance in the Force, it's probably because the Prequel-era beat-em-up Star Wars: Episode I—Jedi Power Battles is making a return. The hi-res update also includes new unlocked characters and a couch co-op mode. The port is being handled by Aspyr, who has made a ton of old Star Wars games new again, with varying degrees of success (the team is still trying to patch the buggy Star Wars: Battlefront Classic collection from earlier this year). In other news, the upcoming MechWarrior 5: Clans will hit Game Pass on Day 1 next week. And finally, developer Secret Door has revealed their first game: Sunderfolk, which hits Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S next year.
Will an innovative new collaboration help Central Ohio attract and build the workforce it needs? The Central Ohio Workforce Development Network is a new large-scale collaborative between thirteen organizations that backers say will open a wide new pipeline funneling eager workers to employers. With a panel of employment advocates and regional leaders, we unpack this newest effort to keep Central Ohio's talent pool filled to the brim. Featuring: Toni Cunningham, President & CEO, Godman Guild Lisa Divine, Manager, Learning and Development, Worthington Steel Scott Johnson, Director, Central Ohio Workforce Development Network The moderator is Bo Chilton, CEO, IMPACT Community Action.

In today's Daily Fix: Fallout 4's "free" next-gen update dropped last week, but many PlayStation users were left out in the Wasteland when a supposed bug kept it from certain versions of the game. Gamers who downloaded the game via PS Plus were unable to download the update, with Bethesda saying it was a bug. Now the publisher is confirming that players who own the game via the PS Plus Collection will NOT be getting the update, but owners of the game through PS Plus Essentials will get it after they fix that bug. Confused? So were we, but we've got a full breakdown in today's episode. In other news, the Tomb Raider remastered trilogy caught some flack for removing Lara Croft pinup posters from the third game. Now developer Aspyr is putting them back in. And finally, a Mario Kart RC car is being recalled for practically the same issue as Tesla's Cybertruck.
Saber Interactive's CEO has confirmed that work is continuing on the Knights of the Old Republic remake, telling IGN that the game is in active development, and that they're aiming to "exceed consumer expectations." Concern for the project stems from a lack of any news of the game's progress and financial trouble with Saber's former parent company Embracer Group. KOTOR was previously in development at Aspyr, where it hung in development hell for years. In other news, hackers have reported an exploit to Sony that allowed the PlayStation Portal to run emulated PSP games. And finally, Dave the Diver is diving into PlayStation Plus on April 16.
You read that correctly, the state of the gaming world is unreal, as in Unreal Engine. As the GDC is fully underway, there was still a lot of news to get through. From Epic games having their state of Unreal, to Saber Interactive breaking free from Embracers embrace, to the failure of the PSVR 2, and Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection taking a nosedive. Also Popeye, The Cat in the Hat, and The Never Ending Story are all making some kind of comeback, The Acolyte gets its first trailer, and Dune Pt. 2 continues to sizzle as the box office. That and a whole lot more.
In this short(er) episode we chat about Embracer setting Saber free, Aspyr stumbling yet again with another Star Wars game, and Chad actually does REALLY WELL on 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon is Being John Malkovich in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

In today's Daily Fix: Ahead of any official announcement from Sony, the tech specs for the PlayStation 5 Pro have leaked online. To sum it up, the PS5 Pro is more powerful than the PS5, with a faster CPU and GPU, better ray-tracing and upscaling capabilities. Unfortunately, the internal hard drive hasn't been upgraded, and will likely sport a similar 1TB SSD similar to what is in the PS5 base model. No price has been revealed (but this probably won't be cheap). In other news, a Battlefront modder is claiming that developer Aspyr copies their work for the recent Battlefront Classic Collection. While the modder is not asking for any kind of payment, Aspyr did say they did NOT use any previously released mods, and yet evidence suggests otherwise. And finally, we have more on the latest update to The Finals.
PS5 Pro seems early...but also right on time? With the difficulty in grabbing a PS5 in the year following its launch, man gamers may feel as though it's too early for there to already be an upgrade to the PlayStation 5. However, it appears that this pro model is not only in production, but also coming as soon as the holiday season 2024. Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was a much anticipated launch by Aspyr, bringing the classic first two Battlefront games back into the modern gaming sphere with new maps and large online battles. However, its recent launch has resulted in disaster following several server errors, connectivity issues, and bugs. The Suicide Squad game has been anything but successful, with many gamers blaming its focus on games-as-a-service instead of deep storytelling as we've grown to expect from the game's developer, Rocksteady. Unfortunately the allure of potential profits are keeping WB in on games-as-a-service as the studio will be doubling down on its live service offerings.
In today's Daily Fix: Aspyr's remastered collection of the classic Star Wars: Battlefront games is having a very rough launch. Server issues kept most gamers from playing, and there are reports that only 3 servers, supporting just 200 people total, were live. And speaking of Aspyr, their Knights of the Old Republic remake is still stuck in development hell, but is being kept alive somewhat by fellow developer, Saber Interactive. Saber, meanwhile, was able to get out from under the Embracer Group's thumb, taking with them several projects. And finally, the newers premium warbond for Helldivers 2 is live, so unlock some extra weapon add-ons and get back in the fight.

Xbox sales in Europe have collapsed with a 52% drop from October last year, meanwhile PlayStation has seen an increase of 143% in the same time period. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake fell on hard times alongside the difficulties found at its original developer Aspyr. Embracer Group moved the development following these problems over to Saber Interactive - the developers of the recently delayed Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2. Complete silence on the project's progression sparked worry that the game was doomed to be cancelled but according to Boomberg reporter Jason Shreier on X, the project is still being worked on in some capacity. Ad placements are no stranger to video games, as seen years ago in games like Crackdown and Rainbox Six: Vegas on the Xbox 360. Typically these ads have been limited to in-game advertising like billboards and banners that would fit within the world the game is portraying. More recently blatant banner ads have been found in games' main menus and console home screens, but have steered away from appearing in-game. For some Assassin's Creed Odyssey players, in-game banner ads started showing up within the game's map...but Ubisoft has since removed them claiming that it was a technical error all along.

Take control of different civilization each with their own unique perks and units, and bring that civilization from the nomad age to the space age. Win the game in various ways like technology or culture. Make deals with other civilizations or betray them at the last minute. Civilization is game that can suck up a lot of your time. This is the game that defined the term "Just one more turn!".

Sik and Nick are (not) joined by Thomas Williams from the PlayStation Brahs! Nick made quite the waves with his The Last of Us Part 1 leaks a week or so back, and then Neil Druckmann shot down his Fortnite rumor. It seems like Aspyr's remake of K.O.T.O.R. isn't going too well, and so much more to talk about this week. Jump in!

The biggest news of the week is that the remake of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is indefinitely delayed after Aspyr abruptly fired two directors this month. A new Gotham Knights trailer centered on Batgirl is revealed and has some people talking about it. Lastly, TMNT The Cowabunga Collction finally gets a release date and reveal the extra features for the collection. #starwars #gothamknights #tmnt #videogames #podcast #allyoucangeek
Cowabunga it is. This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill react to the Nintendo Direct that absolutely everyone was waiting for (sarcasm intended) and review what might just be another GotY contender on Switch. The gang starts out by reacting to the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct with a perfectly balanced slate of impressions: whether or not you chose to watch this much-anticipated Direct or you're holding out for that elusive general Direct, the hosts serve up a slate of hot takes for what's sure to be one of the summer's biggest games. After that, it's time for the hosts to dish out the spiciest of takes regarding Aspyr's unpatched, apparently known game-breaking bug that makes it completely impossible to finish the new Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. How did this ever get past QA? As always, let's blame capitalism. Closing things on a much more radical note, the gang grab their pizza and ninja gear to review the long-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. This beat 'em up from Dotemu and Tribute Games is every bit as good as we'd hoped, and then some: whether you grew up with the Turtles in the 80s, 90s, or 2000s, this bodacious brawler has a little something for everyone (plus one of this year's best soundtracks). It's the perfect multiplayer bash for two thirds of podcast hosts! Cowabunga it is.
