To get back into the swing after our week off, we're playing the hits this time by griping about games media and getting excited for indies. First up, Final Fantasy XVI inspires us to talk about the deeply frustrating state of video game reviews and why scores are the least important part of them. Then we move to sunnier territory by running down our favorite parts of the Annapurna Interactive Showcase, which was packed with beautiful, inscrutable games. Is Red Dead Redemption getting a remake? Annapurna Interactive Showcase! Daedalic Entertainment has decided to end all internal development! Assassin's Creed Black Flag is coming back! Microsoft's court case against the FTC served up a few more bangers.
Join us once again for a fun-filled episode of our weekly podcast, with all things gaming front and centre. In TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 134, the annual Annapurna Showcase gives us plenty to talk about alongside some of the new releases like Two Point Campus and Turbo Golf Racing. There's also a quiz that you won't want to miss, so please tune in and enjoy our musings. This week, Gareth, James, Darren and Paul have a fair few games to share their thoughts on. There's the turn-based World War 2 themed Strategic Mind: The Pacific, the silly but deep university sim Two Point Campus, the rather witty visual novel Gloom and Doom, the fast-paced excitement of Turbo Golf Racing, the tragic tale of Endling Extinction is Forever, and a whole load of Nazi slaying in Sniper Elite 5 Landing Force DLC. Outside of that, the latest Annapurna Interactive Showcase enables the team to discuss Thirsty Suitors, The Lost Wild, Bounty Star: The Morose Tale Of Graveyard Clem, Flock, and more. That's before commenting on the shock canning of the Batgirl movie and the attention-grabbing collaboration between PUBG and Blackpink. To finish off the episode, Paul hosts one of the most unique and most difficult quizzes we've ever done. If you wish to comment on anything discussed in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 134, or ask any questions for us to answer in future episodes, feel free to do so! As always, full show notes are available over at https://www.thexboxhub.com/podcast

The gaming week has once again been dominated by more fallout from the Activision Blizzard debacle, which includes a large walkout, more heinous stories coming out and now J Allen Brack leaving the company. The one positive about this, Ubisoft employees also stood in solidarity and made their own demands as well. Although we don't talk much about this on the show this week, I did want to note what's been happening and that we still stand with all of those employees going through so much right now. However, if you want to look at just the gaming side of things and ignore reality, Annapurna Interactive had a tremendous showcase highlighting what having a host of interesting games, funny personalities, and some surprises do to one's enjoyment. Seriously! Outerwilds is getting an expansion y'all! This was also a week for Business stuff and there will be some discussions about that. Sadly, there are also some delays and store removals too. Horizon: Forbidden West seemingly is the next big game pushed into 2022, while Kena: Bridge of Spirits also gets a one-month delay as well. Forza Motorsport 7 is being removed from the Microsoft Store entirely starting in September too. Finally, things look positive for the Playdate, Team ASOBI is making a new game, and there's also a discussion on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 and the systems as a whole. Plus, the whole overblown thing about the PS5 SSD versus the Xbox Memory Card. Don't forget, there are some games to discuss as Sean keeps pushing through Death's Door and Cris Tales, while Marc tries out The Forgotten City and has continued the journey through Ys IX: Monstrum Nox too. Timestamps: (0:00) Start (2:30) Marc goes to another used store (7:30) Games We Are Playing: (Ys IX, The Forgotten City, Cris Tales, Death's Door) (28:15) Horizon Forbidden West and Kena: Bridge of Spirits Delayed, Could Halo: Infinite Multiplayer release by itself? (47:35) Team ASOBI making a new game, could it possibly be a full Astrobot title? (52:00) PlayStation 5 and is the $70 price making some rethink buying at release?
Annapurna really stretched the limits of notE3 by putting on their inaugural showcase so late in the day, but I'm glad they did. They showed off a lot of cool things, like Neon White and Stray. We even got the briefest of looks at the upcoming Outer Wilds DLC. Headlines and Hot Takes is full of chat on what the publisher packed into a half an hour last week. And, yes, while the cat looked decent, and the first-person card shooter-thing looked intriguing, Echoes Of The Eye definitely takes up most of our time. We've also renamed Tech Corner, because you and I both know it'll be Steam Deck from now until December. It's been a bit quiet when it comes to new releases, but Matthew found some time to have a go on twin-stick shooter The Ascent. While the couple of hours he played didn't blow him away, it's definitely worth a look via Game Pass. Xbox's subscription service also gave me a chance to play some of the very pleasant Omno. This week's Mystery Steam Reviews is all about video games that were made by studios that have since closed down. And we round out the show by opening The Weekspot mailbag to answer your Burning Questions on indie games, Olympic sports, and Mog. 00:00 Intro 05:03 Information Snacks For Your News Gobs 15:11 Annapurna Interactive Showcase recap 18:01 The Artful Escape 21:16 Neon White 24:07 A Memoir Blue 25:02 Storyteller 26:33 Solar Ash 27:59 Skin Deep 30:26 Stray 35:07 Outer Wilds Echoes Of The Eye 41:24 Steam Deck might be future proof, apparently 48:05 The Ascent impressions 1:05:05 Omno review 1:12:27 Grime impressions 1:16:57 Mystery Steam Reviews 1:36:49 Burning Questions

Was wird denn hier gespielt? 05:53 - Hell let loose - Basti berichtet vom letzten Update.

What's Up, Playa? Welcome back to another episode of The Player's Club Podcast! This time, Emmett Watkins Jr decided to ride solo, just because, so hopefully this episode is still pretty good (of course, let him know if it ain't!). In this episode, I react to the announcements from both EA Play Live from a few days ago and Annapurna Interactive's first-ever showcase. There weren't many surprises, but there is plenty of good stuff to get excited about, so let's dig in! But first, we have to get through the Whatcha Playin segment, which this time is solely comprised of Emmett's thoughts on Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, Metro Exodus, and Splitgate Arena Warfare.
