Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

""The Piece is called "Welcome to Abundancia". Abundancia is the name of the imaginary city that has achieved a state of total balance, harmony, abundance and integration of nature. It serves as a playground and safe home for it citizens and provides all that is needed for its people and animals to thrive and (Abun)dance together. The track invites you to experience how it sounds and feels to spent a day in this magical sanctuary from sunrise to sunset. "I chose field recording number 21 for this project because intuitively I felt drawn to it and also because I was looking for a recording that contains birds and nature sounds because to me a city can only be healthy and offer well-being if it has found a way to embrace, honor and harmonize with nature. So I took this field recording and turned it into a drone sound by boosting  harmonic frequencies (111 Hz, 222 Hz, 444 Hz, 888 Hz) with an EQ and processing it with effects. This drone served as the main inspiration, I also re-sampled the sounds of the field recording and created a more rhythmical texture. Based on that I started to play around with different elements and step by step the journey took shape. "In Abundancia people have found a way to remove all stress and toxicity and to live in harmony and flow by getting rid of all distracting and unnecessary elements, by focusing on what brings joy and well-being and by living in community instead of isolation. The city has its name because the main goal is to offer and create abundance for all. It  has huge community gardens that provide high quality organic food and medicine plants for everyone and many sources of pure clean and fresh water can be found in and around the city. There are also beautiful parks where people do spiritual practices like Yoga, Meditation, Qi-Gong etc. together. To reflect that in my music I used a lot of organic sounds for percussions and textures and you can hear water in many different elements, the main drum in the first part is a water drum for example. And I included additional field recordings of the jungle because I really wanted to emphasize the importance and healing effect of a city being a biotope. Abundancia is known for its biodiversity and measures success by the amount of different species that can be found in its environment. "The citizens of Abundancia live in joy, happiness and a sense of fulfillment and purpose because all jobs and services are directly connected to support and serve the community. And everyone has the opportunity and is encouraged to follow their passion. They also understand that they create their reality individually and collectively based on their thoughts, beliefs and emotions and that there is no limitation to what they can create except for what they can't imagine. People realized that fear and lack have been created in the past by limiting and negative beliefs but everyone in Abundancia is constantly reminded of the power they have as creator beings and that's why fear no longer exists because people have realized that it does not serve them to focus on fearful and negative thoughts and instead they always ask themselves how they can create more beauty, love and abundance.  "The city is very colorful and a huge playground for all kinds of creative expressions and art forms. The people in Abundancia have understood and mastered the meta-physical principles of frequency, energy, vibration and resonance and  therefore the architecture and design reflects and is based on sacred geometry and cosmic harmonics that help to create an energy field of coherence and harmony in and around the city. I reflected this idea in this piece as well by tuning all the elements and instruments to 444 Hz, a tuning that is based on the powerful 111 Hz harmonic (which is also included in the track) and that allows for a musical and harmonious integration of solfeggio frequencies. "111Hz is found in ancient Neolithic chambers such as New Grange in Ireland and the Hypogeum in Malta. It has been used in Russia since the 1940s for insomnia (electrosleep treatment), and since the 1970s this 111 Hz has been used in Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulator (CES) treatment for anxiety, depression, insomnia, enhancing memory, brain function, anhedonia (inability to experience pleasure), and more…” In 2013, 111Hz was found by Dr. Vladimir shCherbak and astrobiologist Maxim Makukov in Kazakhstan to be the first number code in our DNA. Research by Dr. Ian Cook of UCLA in 2008 showed an unmistakeable effect on the brain by this frequency, such as causing a temporary shift to the right brain to bring more balance; stimulating the part of the brain that relates to empathy, cognitive behaviour, emotional processing and moderating correct social behaviour; and a de-activation of the speech centre to encourage a more internal focus. "That's why I included this frequency as a drone to support the listener to get into a meditative and peaceful state. I also included the solfeggio frequency of 396 Hz which is resonating the energy centre (chakra) that connects us with the earth and gives us a feeling of grounding, stability and safety. It has also be found to be supportive in calming down the nervous system and reducing stress and fear. "Solfeggio Frequencies are a numerical representation of how energy flows in a torus field and can be seen as the blueprint of creation. In addition to the solfeggio tuning and healing frequencies I have set all the parameters in this piece (for example, volume settings, EQ settings, FX parameters) to represent multiples or equals of 3,6 and 9 which according to Nikola Tesla and Marko Rodin are master numbers in regards of manifestation and balance of creation. My intention for this is to create a stronger attunement and harmonic resonance with the universe. Recent experiments by acustics-physics scientist John Stuart Reid have shown that intention has a powerful and noticeable effect and can positively change and alter matter. That's why this piece is created with the most loving intentions and it is my way of harnessing the power of frequency and sound to create a positive and uplifting effect that can result in raising the frequency within the listener and therefore benefit everyone because all is connected. "I am deeply grateful to be able to participate in this project and know deep in my heart that Abundancia is not just a fantasy but a memory from the not so distant future."   Lima city garden reimagined by Steffen Kirchhoff. Part of the Well-Being Cities project, a unique collaboration between Cities and Memory and C40, a global network of mayors of nearly 100 world-leading cities collaborating to deliver the urgent action needed right now to confront the climate crisis. In this week's episode of The People's Project: DAN HAS A PROBLEM #CookversusCrook Daniel Andrews, Brett Sutton and Dandenong council have created a monster! A slug that threatens the Premier's own seat: Mulgrave. Ian Cook founded iCook Foods where a slug was planted by a corrupt Melbourne council with backing from the Labor Party. With a team of retired detectives Ian has defeated all charges and now openly labels the players involved as 'corrupt' with not a single defamation action or threat levied in response. Ian is running in Mulgrave to stand against corruption in Victoria. CORRUPT COUNCILS Casey council was dismissed by Labor MP Adem Somyurek in 2020 for some of 'the most corrupt conduct ever seen in a Victorian council' with property developers paying bribes to councillors and Labor MPs. IBAC investigations have since revealed via covert telephone recordings that Premier Daniel Andrews has not only dined with such property developers, but has indeed discussed planning decisions at those dinners. The CEO of Dandenong Council also goes under the microscope as Ian lays out hundreds of thousands of dollars that have gone missing, bombshell board minutes, implications with Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton, and millions of dollars 'disappeared' by the Labor government in the winding up of Community Chef. CORRUPT POLICE? A senior Victoria Police officer made a submission to IBAC with detailed allegations about a cover-up inside the highest levels of Victoria Police. That submission alleges and implicates Shane Patton and lays out evidence of the 'Red Shirts Rort' investigations (into Victorian Labor stealing $400,000) being covered up. The submission was leaked to multiple media outlets, including Discernable. Pixabay: andalusianThe Sun is the 19th tarot card associated with happiness, vitality, and optimism. This card is often interpreted as a sign of good things, such as success, new opportunities, and positive change. It can also represent self-confidence, courage, and determination. The Sun symbolizes growth, life, and energy, so the sun tarot card can also indicate that you are about to embark on a new phase in your life. Now, let's talk about the history and appearance of the Sun card. The History And Appearance of The Sun Tarot CardThe Sun first appears in tarot decks during the Renaissance. At this time, the Sun was seen as a powerful symbol of the divine. Therefore, the sun card was often used to represent God, or the sun god, Apollo. The Sun card has undergone many changes over the years. Today, it is often seen as an optimistic card.In the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck, you will see that the card depicts a scene of a nude child riding a white horse while carrying a red flag. The child and white horse represent happiness, purity, and innocence. The Sun shines brightly in the sky behind them, representing the dawn of a new day or a new beginning. However, it also means life on earth, and you will see that four sunflowers are growing above the brick wall underneath the Sun. Those sunflowers represent the suits in the Minor Arcana and the elements that tie to them. The Minor Arcana consists of the Swords suit, which correlates with the air element, Cups, which links with water, Wands associated with fire, and Pentacles connected with earth. Now, let's talk about what it means when the Sun card comes up in a reading. What It Means When The Sun Tarot Card Comes Up In A ReadingIf you are experiencing a difficult time, the Sun tarot card can signify that better days are on the horizon. This is a card of hope and happiness, so trust that things will eventually get better. Have faith in yourself and your ability to overcome any obstacle. The Sun tarot card is a reminder that you have the power to create your happiness. When the Sun tarot card appears in a reading, it is often a sign that your hard work will pay off. You may have been through a challenging time recently, but things are finally starting to look up. This is a time to celebrate your accomplishments and enjoy the fruits of your labor. The Sun tarot card is a reminder to savor the good times, as they will eventually end.The Sun tarot card can signify that things will eventually get better if you go through a tough time. This is a card of hope and happiness, so trust that things will improve. Have faith in yourself and your ability to overcome any obstacle. The Sun tarot card is a reminder that you have the power to create your happiness. Things may be tough now, but better days are on the horizon. Here is the thing, for those who struggle with depression, whether it is Major Depressive Disorder, Situational Depression, or what have you, it is hard to see that the Sun will ever come up. And that is also accurate with Seasonal Affective Disorder which primarily affects those in the winter who live in colder climates because that is when the Sun is present. The Sun does help your mental health. Then again, I have heard of some people experiencing depression during the summer. According to WebMD, it is pretty common, and Dr. Ian Cook, the director of the Depression Research Program at UCLA, said a biological cause for depression in some people. And for others who struggle during the hottest and sunniest time of the year, the stresses that come with summer can add to that. So even though the sun shining can be good for your mental health, other aspects of the summer can cause depression in some people. However, aside from that, those who struggle with depression struggle to see that the Sun will ever come up for them. And you can say that is the case with Risa Green. Aside from the trauma, she struggles with. She struggles with depression. Perhaps that is why she does not even want to attempt to work on managing her trauma and improving her life. She does not see the point. The Sun is absent in her life. She had a chance to improve her life, stick with her therapy, and keep taking her medication, which may have given her a few rays of sunshine. However, she made it clear she was not interested. And that is the thing with so many people who struggle with depression. The motivation to look at silver linings and do something to help alleviate depressive symptoms, such as exercising, eating healthy food, limiting processed food such as sugar, and limiting the booze intake, is nonexistent. When it comes to depression, there has to be a reason for someone who suffers from it to find it within them to become motivated. Burnout and trauma will hinder that. That is the case for Risa, which was the case for me when I was at the height of my burnout. And those who struggle with depression, including Risa, fit with the Sun in reverse as they do not resonate with the upright position.Sun In ReverseWhen the Sun comes in reverse, it indicates low vitality, false impressions, lack of clarity, disappointment, and sadness. Something that appeared promising turned out to be disappointing. As you can see, that fits Risa Green well and anyone who struggles with depression.I also think of the Sun in reverse as being sleep-deprived as that will suck the life of you if you go so long without getting enough sleep. That can also be a symptom of depression, and not getting enough sleep can cause depression or worsen it. And everyone is going to have days when the Sun is in reverse. Even the most upbeat people will have days like that because it is very human to experience that. So now, let's talk about applying the Sun to your life. How To Apply The Sun Tarot Card To Your LifeI am not here to tell you to use the Sun card when grieving or in one of those moods because you need to process those emotions before doing so. But here is the thing. If there is something that you want to achieve, and you know in your heart that you will get it, then I would say look at the Sun card daily to remind yourself that as long as you keep working at whatever it is that you want, then you will get it.Also, if you are in a mood but want to raise your spirits, that is the card to look at, which is something that I do from time to time. Sometimes it helps. Other times, not so much. And when it doesn't help, you should not force it and keep allowing yourself to feel what you need to feel! Next, I will go over the second last card in the Major Arcana, another card that can be confusing to people, which is Judgment.
