Schio si prepara ad accogliere la ventesima edizione della Mostra Mercato Giardino Jacquard, un evento che negli anni è diventato un punto fermo del calendario culturale cittadino e una delle manifestazioni più attese del Triveneto. Sabato 20 e domenica 21 settembre, la città si trasformerà infatti in un palcoscenico verde, tra orchidee rare, bonsai, artigianato, musica e archeologia industriale.

Eccoci qua!Bentornati finalmente a Life in The Garden!In questo episodio ho avuto l'onore di intervistare Giuseppe Lo Pilato (@peppe_lopilato),agronomo, ideatore del progetto di rinascita del Giardino della Kolymbethra e curatore del suo paesaggio per il FAI.Giuseppe ci racconta di come sia diventato agronomo e poi nel 1995 del suo incontro con Antonino Vella, l'ultimo giardiniere ad aver coltivato il Giardino della Kolymbethra (che in greco significa “piscina”), un vero e proprio “canyon” all'interno del Parco Archeologico e Paesaggistico della Valle dei Templi di Agrigento. Un luogo con una storia antichissima, anche agronomica. Nel Medioevo coltivato dai monaci cistercensi con ortaggi e alberi da frutto, agli inizi del 1700, cambiando destinazione produttiva, diventa un giardino mediterraneo, dove si coltivano innumerevoli agrumi. Il Giardino della Kolymbethra nel 1999 però, era ormai divenuto un posto abbandonato, una discarica, con una fogna a cielo aperto. Ed è qui che, con tenacia e passione, interviene Giuseppe Lo Pilato, che coinvolgendo, tra gli altri, il professore Giuseppe Barbera e la Soprintendente Graziella Fiorentini, riesce a salvare il Giardino della Kolymbethra, facendolo diventare un bene del FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano. L'intervista è stata realizzata proprio il 4 settembre 2025, esattamente 25 anni dopo l'inizio del lavori di rinascita di questo luogo.Nella chiacchierata scoprirete anche le varietà antiche di agrumi che vengono coltivate a la Kolymbethra e i metodi di coltivazione e irrigazione utilizzati in giardino. Questo è il mio corpo».23 Poi prese un bicchiere di vino, di cui ringraziò Dio, lo porse ai discepoli, e tutti ne bevvero. 24 Gesù disse: «Questo è il mio sangue, versato per molti, che conferma il nuovo patto fra Dio e lʼuomo. 25 In tutta verità vi dico che non assaggerò più vino fino al giorno in cui non ne berrò del nuovo nel Regno di Dio!»26 Poi cantarono un inno e, usciti, si diressero sul Monte degli Ulivi. Gesù disse ai discepoli:27 «Tutti voi mi abbandonerete, perché Dio ha detto per mezzo dei profeti: “Ucciderò il Pastore, e le pecore saranno disperse!” 28 Ma dopo che sarò risorto, andrò in Galilea, e là ci rivedremo!»29 Allora Pietro gli disse: «Io non ti abbandonerò mai! Gesù ordinò ai suoi discepoli: «Sedete qui, mentre vado a pregare».33 Prese con sé Pietro, Giacomo e Giovanni e cominciò a sentirsi oppresso dallʼorrore e da una profonda angoscia. 34 Allora Gesù disse loro: «La mia anima è oppressa dal dolore per la morte che si avvicina: restate qui e state svegli con me». 35 Andò un poʼ più avanti, poi cadde a terra, pregando Dio che, se era possibile, gli risparmiasse il momento terribile che lo aspettava.36 «Padre, Padre», diceva, «ogni cosa ti è possibile. Allontana da me questo calice di dolore! Tuttavia sia fatta la tua volontà, non la mia».37 Poi tornò dai tre discepoli e li trovò addormentati. «Simone!» chiamò, «Dormi? Non sei riuscito a star sveglio con me neppure unʼora? 38 State svegli e pregate per non cadere in tentazione.
