The agbioscience economy is the only economy that touches every person on the Planet given that it centers on food. It's necessary for life; and for generations, Indiana farmers have served a critical role in the global food supply chain. Now the state has a farmer leading the charge to shape the next chapter of the state's ag economy and he joins us today. Don Lamb, Director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), talks with us about always wanting to be a farmer and the season of life being right for him to lead ISDA. Like many Indiana natives, he talks basketball as a metaphor for the role of production agriculture in the agbiosciences. He also gets into farmer adoption of new innovations, his advice to innovators that want to bring a product to market and the role of farmers when it comes to helping companies develop new innovations. He highlights soil conservation, mental health of the farmer and ISDA's Indiana Grown initiative as three things he sees as big opportunities for the organization in the future.

Indiana crossed 200,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases as it set yet another record-breaking daily case total Friday. While the number of tests the state has done has steadily increased, new cases outpace it. It’s hard to compare Indiana’s cases and testing from March to November – it’s not an apples to apples comparison because of the nationwide struggles to expand testing capacity. But it is a more fair comparison from now to Sept. 6 – when the state crossed 100,000 confirmed cases. From that point, the increase in the number of new cases cannot be explained solely by the increase in the number of tests – testing only increased by about 48 percent. And its seven-day moving average has quadrupled from when we hit 100,000 cases to now. In that same time, the state went from 771 Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19 to 2,001 – the most since the Indiana State Department of Health started releasing that data. The seven-day average for people hospitalized with the virus has now increased every

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey begrudgingly opens episode #086 talking about the Covid-19 virus... again (and hopefully for the last time, unless something worse or better happens). BUT THIS IS A CONVERSATION YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS... because he welcomes to the show, Christine Stinson - Executive Director of the Wayne County, Indiana Board of Health, to talk about Covid-19 in FACTUAL TERMS rather than rehashing information that "Crackhead Bob" is telling everyone at the gas station or that "Karen" has posted on Facebook (you knew Karen's sister, has a best friend that lives next door to the HEAD GUY OF THE WHO... wait! I'm being told it isn't the W.H.O., meaning the World Health Organization, but rather the lead singer for a "The Who" tribute band... OH, well, isn't that embarrassing Karen)... YOU ALL BETTER JUST LISTEN TO CHRISTINE - she is on the front lines of this thing! Then in the second half of the show... Bilbrey talks about the 2, completely different, on-going, Federal Investigations into Officials in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana! And the most recent arrests that have occurred in those investigations! YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS THIS CONVERSATION EITHER! Episode Time Line: 00:00:00 - 00:47:49 : Covid-19 Conversation & Christine Stinson... 00:47:50 - 01:30:00 : Fed Investigation 1: Corruption (Arrests of: Phil Nichols & Jess Neal).
