She still uses the mindfulness techniques almost daily as a calmative prior to going to bed. In the last 2 years she has only occasionally had insomnia but she enjoys the mindfulness meditations of the body scan and the mountain . As Jo says this way of approaching insomnia isn’t easy, it is not a quick fix, it is a commitment and demands time and energy, going to the mind gym. As Jo says doctors want to help but only have pills in the arsenal, although talking therapies are becoming more available.
