In this engaging episode, Cecil and Peter dive into the world of expiration dates, specifically focusing on pharmaceuticals. They discuss the complexities and implications of expiration dates, exploring how they affect both potency and safety of medications. With anecdotes and humor, they question whether expired drugs can still be effective or even dangerous, presenting a perspective that challenges conventional thinking. As they take a nostalgic journey into the pre-internet days where conversations were the core source of knowledge, Cecil and Peter also touch upon societal perceptions and ethics surrounding expired drugs, especially in contexts like humanitarian aid. Somehow they bring it home with a Brazilian liquor that contains Jambu the toothache plant. #TDSRpodcast #expire #pharmaceuticals #jambu Join the conversation with us!
Can finding a tradesperson be as effortless as ordering a pizza? Today, we explore this question with Jambu Palaniappan, CEO of Checkatrade and former Uber executive, as he leads the digital transformation of the £59 billion UK home services industry. In this episode, Jambu shares his vision for bringing trust and efficiency to a sector that, while essential, has largely remained offline. Since its founding in 1998, Checkatrade has built a reputation as a trusted platform for connecting homeowners with vetted tradespeople, addressing a critical need that emerged after a natural disaster highlighted the risk of rogue traders. Now, Jambu is focused on evolving Checkatrade from a traditional lead-generation platform into a comprehensive, end-to-end marketplace that simplifies every step of the home services journey—from finding a qualified tradesperson to payment and review. Imagine a world where scheduling, cost estimation, and invoicing are all streamlined on one platform, giving users peace of mind and tradespeople a business management toolkit that's intuitive and effective. Checkatrade's digital roadmap includes innovations like a new consumer app, launched to enhance accessibility and engagement, and business tools that make quoting and invoicing seamless. But with rapid innovation comes the challenge of balancing trust and quality. Checkatrade's rigorous 12-step vetting process remains central to its mission, and the company continues to reject potential members who don't meet its standards—because, as Jambu puts it, “no one checks trades like Checkatrade.” Alongside technological advancements, Checkatrade is also addressing a shortage in skilled trades by partnering with over 500 schools to promote careers in the industry, making this digital transformation as inclusive as it is innovative. In our conversation, Jambu reflects on lessons from his career, including insights from Uber's rapid growth and his gratitude toward mentors who saw his potential. With new features on the horizon and plans to transform the home services market, what does the future hold for Checkatrade's digital journey? And will this blend of innovation and trust reshape how we navigate home improvement? Share your thoughts with us after tuning in!
Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Minggu, 29 September 2024 Bacaan: "Tetapi buah Roh ialah: kasih, sukacita, damai sejahtera, kesabaran, kemurahan, kebaikan, kesetiaan, kelemahlembutan, penguasaan diri. Amin. (Dod).

(Like I mentioned before, The Hunger Games is a very dark series involving death and other dark concepts, so if you get provoked by those easily, then I suggest you don't listen to this episode. Well, if you want some serious laughs when Juniperheart sings some very odd songs, then stick around! :D) Moon treating her wounds with grass and water? Luna and Swordtail fighting constantly over supplies? Clay suffering from... starvation?! This doesn't sound like any Wings of Fire book you've read before. That's because this isn't a book- this is the first annual Wings of Fire Hunger Games (please note that this isn't going to be an annual episode or anything like that)! I think we can all agree that this episode was both hilarious, sad, and utterly baffling overall. Wait, Pineapple! Jambu! Stop fighting! aGhHhHH!!!! Heh heh... Let's just listen to this episode, and be sure to stay tuned until the end to see who won the first annual Wings of Fire Hunger Games- the answer may shock you! Have a great day. ~Juniperheart~ Email me at: scalesandtailspodcast@gmail.com Link to Hunger Games simulator: https://simublast.com/hunger-games-simulator/

Here is a Temple where the Temple Priest , Daily, at the stroke of Noon , dresses up like the wife of Lord Siva, Akilandeswari, and performs the Middy Pooja(Ucchi Kala Pooja).Thiruvanaikaval (Tamil: திருவானைக்காவல்) (also Thiruvanaikal, Jambekeswaram) is a famous Shiva temple in Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple was built by Kocengannan (Kochenga Chola), one of the Early Cholas, around 1,800 years ago. It is located in the Srirangam island, which has the famous Ranganathaswamy temple. Thiruvanaikavall is one of the five major Shiva Temples of Tamil Nadu (Panchabhoota Sthalams) representing the Mahābhūta or five great elements; this temple represents the element of water, or neer in Tamil. The sanctum of Jambukeswara has an underground water stream and in spite of pumping water out, it is always filled with water It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where all of the four most revered Nayanars (Saivite Saints) have sung glories of the deity in this temple. The temple has inscriptions from the Chola period. There were two Siva Ganas (Siva's disciples who live in Kailash): ‘Malyavan' and ‘Pushpadanta'. Though they are Shiva Ganas they always quarrel with each other and fight for one thing or other. In one fight ‘Malyavan' cursed ‘Pushpadanta' to become an elephant on earth and the latter cursed the former to become a spider on earth. The elephant and the spider came to Jambukeswaram and continued their Shiva worship. The elephant collected water from river Cauvery and conducted ablution to the lingam under the Jambu tree (Eugenia jambolana) daily. The spider constructed his web over the lingam to prevent dry leaves from dropping on it and prevent sunlight directly falling on it. When the elephant saw the web and thought it was dust on lingam. The elephant tore them and cleaned the lingam by pouring water and the practice continued daily. The spider became angry one day and crawled into the trunk of the elephant and bit the elephant to death, killing itself. Siva, in the form of Jambukeswara, moved by the deep devotion of the two, relieved them from the curse. As an elephant worshipped Shiva here, this place came to be known as Thiru Aanai Kaa (thiru means holy, aanai is elephant, kaa (kaadu) means forest https://ramanisblog.in/2013/03/31/temple-where-the-priest-becomes-sivas-wife-thiruvanaikaval/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message
