In this episode of the Care Ministry Podcast, host Laura Howe sits down with Pastor Tina Drysdale of Center of Hope Victory Church in Kincardine, Ontario. They discuss the challenges and opportunities of developing a care ministry in a small-town church setting, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. Tina shares how her congregation has embraced a diverse demographic, responded to community needs through practical outreach, and fostered hope and healing. Laura provides insightful guidance on building sustainable care systems, training volunteers, and balancing the many roles of a pastor in a small church. Quotes "To have a Center of Hope, we need to be able to offer hope, which ultimately is Jesus, but alongside that is being His hands and feet in practical ways." – Tina Drysdale "Care ministry is less about having the gift of compassion and more about the gift of administration. It's about coordinating, delegating, and supervising care." – Laura Howe "Hope becomes hopelessness if you don't know the way and don't have a pathway out." – Laura Howe "We took $9,000 saved for a church building and invested it back into our community during COVID, and God blessed us with a building shortly after." – Tina Drysdale "By creating different entry points for volunteers with varying capacities, you allow care to flow both ways—blessing both the giver and the receiver." – Laura Howe Resources Care Ministry Podcast, Episode 93 https://www.centreofhopevictory.com/ Connect with Hope Made Strong Website: HopeMadeStrong.org Socials: Facebook – Instagram – Twitter – YouTube

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD, is in Scotland to visit Kincardine Floating Offshore Wind Farm and the Fraserburgh Operations and Maintenance Centre for Moray East Offshore Wind Farm. Ireland has an ambition to have 5GW of offshore wind in operation by 2030 with a further 2GW in development. By 2040, the ambition is to have 20GW of offshore wind deployed with the target rising to 37GW by 2050. Looking for Irish inspiration for offshore wind farms Speaking during the visit, Minister Coveney said; "Scotland has already developed several offshore wind farms and there is much we can learn from their experiences. This visit has been hugely informative in terms of seeing at first hand the technology in operation and hearing from industry experts ahead of publishing our own offshore wind industrial strategy. "We also discussed the potential for collaboration between Ireland and Scotland on a range of offshore wind-focussed matters such as building a successful supply chain and optimising Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) initiatives." Kincardine is 15 kilometres off the coast of Aberdeen and is the largest floating offshore windfarm in the world. Fraserburgh is the nerve centre for the 950MW Moray East Offshore Wind Farm, operated by Ocean Winds. The visit was facilitated by Bord na Móna and Ocean Winds, who have formed a partnership to leverage Ireland's offshore wind power resources. The Minister also met with representatives from Principle Power, who have designed floating platforms for offshore wind turbines and Farra Marine, an Irish company involved in providing crew transfers to the offshore wind farms. Minister Coveney added; "The operations centre here in Fraserburgh is a good example of how developments like this can impact positively on a small coastal community, providing jobs and other economic benefits. As we develop wind farms around our coast there will be opportunities for local communities in terms of operating and maintaining these facilities as well as transporting workers to and from installations." The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment is currently developing Ireland's first Offshore Wind Industrial Strategy and it is expected to be published next month. Its publication will be in tandem with the publication of the Offshore Renewable Energy Future Framework Policy Statement by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications. Further Information Kincardine Offshore Wind Farm was constructed at what was a symbolic time for the decarbonization of the energy sector in the UK. It's the largest floating offshore wind farm in the world with the most powerful turbines installed on a floating offshore wind platform. Projects like Kincardine inform the next generation of industrial-scale, cost-competitive floating wind projects in the UK and globally. Each of the five V164 9.5 MW turbines deployed at the wind farm incorporates three 80 m blades being fabricated at the MHI Vestas Offshore Wind's factory on the Isle of Wight, then painted and finished at its Fawley facility, a decommissioned and repurposed former oil-fired power plant. The turbines are installed on five WindFloat units fabricated in Spain. The platform-turbine integration took place at Rotterdam port. Fabrication of the five WindFloat units started in April 2019. At 50 MW installed capacity in the summer of 2021, and with a pandemic in between, the project showcases the logistical advantages of Principle Power's technology over other designs. The?WindFloat's modular design enables an industrialized supply chain to be mobilized. The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) plays a key role in implementing the Government's policies of stimulating the productive capacity of the economy and creating an environment which supports job creation and maintenance. The Department has lead responsibility for Irish policy on global trade and inward investment and a remit to promote fai...

The first interview is with Brad Burnett, the executive vice-president of ITC Construction Group and was on a panel titled “The Future of Construction is Pre-Construction.” He explained how he went from an estimator with the company to a one-man department and how over the ensuing years pre-construction has grown in importance and points the way forward for the industry. The second interview is with Amy Marks, the executive vice-president of technology firm Symetri USA and known on social media as the Queen of Prefab. Marks keynote was called “The Evolution of Industrialized Construction” and she pointed not only to the opportunities as construction becomes more modular, standardized and digitized but also the challenges on the way since large tech players such as Amazon and Google may involve themselves in both the data and supply side of the business. We also have headlines from the Daily Commercial News and the Journal of Commerce, including news about the Western Clean Energy Sorting and Recycling Facility, a new 42,000-square-foot facility in Kincardine, Ont. which was opened by Laurentis Energy Partners (LEP) in partnership with EnergySolutions Canada. As Kevin McGarry says on this episode, the odds seemed stacked against When Calls the Heart lasting into a 10th season.Yet last it has, with the 10th season now streaming on both Super Channel and Hallmark, and an 11th season already in production on the elaborate town set erected on farmland near Langley, B.C.The series has weathered the loss of one of its main leads. Aussie actor Dan Lissing, who played original Mountie suitor Jack Thornton, opted to leave the series at the end of Season Four. Then there was the global COVID pandemic, which WCTH weathered mainly due to the fact that much of it is shot outdoors. A college admissions scandal involving another one of its leads, Lori Loughlin, knocking her out of the series and caused much of one season to be re-shot. This season, the writers and actors strikes halted production on most US-based series -- but WCTH managed work arounds for American born lead Erin Krakow and others. This all has helped McGarry, a Kincardine, Ont., native who plays new Mountie in town, Nathan Grant. He is into his fifth season on the series. It is also where he met his finance, co-star Kayla Wallace, who plays Fiona Miller. McGarry thanks the fans of the series -- the loyal "Hearties" -- and puts it all in perspective in this fun and lively interview.

Megan and Wendy review Hallmark Channel's "The Wedding Veil" starring Lacey Chabert and Kevin McGarry. It premiered on January 8, 2022 and also guest stars Autumn Reeser and Alison Sweeney. Was this movie reminiscence of "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" or are we just longing for a great girlfriend movie? What did you think of "The Wedding Veil" and will you watch the next two movies in the triology? Email us at meganandwendy@gmail.com Megan and Wendy review The Wedding Veil which premiered on the Hallmark Channel on Jan. 8, 2022 as part of New Year New Movies. Other Related Hallmark Reviews We are Lacey Chabert fans! Listen to our reviews of some of her best (and not so best) movies. The Christmas Waltz Christmas at Castle Hart Sweet Carolina News and Notes Heavy reported that all three movies were filmed in Victoria, Canada and other parts of British Columbia. Filming of the first movie was done in April and finished in May. Autum Reeser wrote on her Instagram that she signed on for the films two days before the world was forced to shut down due to the pandemic. It was originally to be filmed in April 2020. Autumn Reeser plays Emma and her character's story will be told during The Wedding Veil Unveiled which premieres on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The movie is somehow, someway loosely based on the novel "There Goes the Bride" by Lori Wilde. Buy the book here. Wilde's book is part of a 4-part "Wedding Veil Wishes" series. The first book was originally called "There Goes the Bride" but the title was changed at some point to "Long Tall Texan" and its plot doesn't read anything like Hallmark Channel's "The Wedding Veil." The screenplay was written by Sandra Berg and Judith Berg. Both writers have a robust Hallmark resume. More News About The Wedding Veil Terry Ingram directed and has an even longer history with Hallmark Channel, including "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Winter in Vail" (which we will review exclusively on Patreon in January during our month of Tyler Hynes movies). Lacey Chabert served as one of the film's executive producers. Chabert told Good Housekeeping in April 2021 that working with Autumn Reeser and Alison Sweeney was a "dream come true." Hallmark leaned hard into this story about female friendships asking "what better way to celebrate female friendships than to bring together three beloved actors from our network." Actor Kevin McGarry who plays Peter was born in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada. Not Boston. McGarry is currently dating his When Calls the Heart co-star Kayla Wallace. Buy the book here.Wilde's book is part of a 4-part "Wedding Veil Wishes" series. The first book was originally called "There Goes the Bride" but the title was changed at some point to "Long Tall Texan" and its plot doesn't read anything like Hallmark Channel's "The Wedding Veil."The screenplay was written by Sandra Berg and Judith Berg. Both writers have a robust Hallmark resume.
