Topics:The Iron Fist and the Velvet Glove - Episode 471: Current Affairs and Heated DebatesIn this episode, hosts Trevor and Joe, alongside co-host Scott (absent in this episode), discuss a range of topical issues, from geopolitical tensions to local political dynamics. They begin by tackling the ongoing conflict in Gaza, expressing frustration over the pervasive propaganda and narrative control. They criticize the west's support for Israel despite blatant human rights violations. The discussion also covers the portrayal and handling of atrocities in the media, drawing parallels with past conflicts and their coverage. The hosts briefly touch upon the ineffectiveness of explaining facts over narrative control and media influence, urging listeners to seek out uncensored information about the ongoing crisis. The conversation shifts to Australian politics, scrutinizing the recent elections, the leadership turmoil within the Liberal Party, and the criticism faced by new opposition leader Susan Lee. They also discuss the successes and perceived failures of the Greens in pushing for greater funding in housing policies. The show concludes with a critique of Trump's latest eccentric proposals, including reopening Alcatraz, and a commentary on the broader political landscape influenced by extreme partisan viewpoints.00:00 Introduction and Episode Overview00:31 Hosts and Initial Banter01:17 Agenda for the Episode03:44 Discussion on Gaza Conflict09:35 Media and Narrative Control17:05 Twitter and Information Sources20:49 Grok and White Genocide22:39 Political Reactions and Boycotts31:27 US Sanctions on ICC Prosecutor34:21 Biden's Health and Personal Anecdotes35:47 Persuasion and Core Beliefs37:50 Questioning Assumptions and Misinformation38:35 China's Renewable Energy Transition41:36 CO2 Emissions and Global Comparisons43:33 China's Coal Plants and Energy Strategy48:47 Wind Farms and Renewable Energy Debates53:14 Political Negotiations and Housing Policies58:15 Religious Discrimination and Asylum59:28 Post-Election Analysis and Party Dynamics01:00:13 Criticism of Liberal Party Leadership01:13:18 Trump's Policies and Controversies01:16:28 Conclusion and Sign-OffTo financially support the Podcast you can make:a per-episode donation via Patreon or one-off donation via credit card; orone-off or regular donations via Paypal orif you are into Cryptocurrency you can send Satoshis. Learn, train, and be a part of the clean energy revolution. Visit BuildTurbines. com today. Now here's your hosts, Allen Hall, Joel Saxum, Phil Totaro, and Rosemary Barnes. Allen Hall: Manufacturing capacity in the wind energy sector continues to contract as GE Vernova's LM wind power continues to grow. Plant down in Brazil is being closed and that affects about a thousand workers, Joel. And it's coming because the demand in Latin America for GE, Vernova wind turbines and all them products is diminishing quite a bit. Now it's also part of a broader trend down in Brazil where installations have fallen by about 30 percent in 2024 compared to previous years. So there's a big slowdown in Brazil. And. GE, Vernova, slash LM are ceasing operations there. I don't see how this is going to last very long. There's a number of operators that are coming into Brazil, especially Chinese manufacturers. You think this factory will get gobbled up like some of the other ones that LM has closed recently? Joel Saxum: Yeah, I think this one, we heard about this whisperings of this. We before it happened, we've got some pretty good connections down in Brazil. With some people that are in the factories and it is, it's just following that trend. I think one of the interesting things about the Brazilian market as well is that, A lot of big turbines down there. People may not know that, but the majority of turbines, I think, are over like three megawatt machines. They're big down there. They don't have a whole lot of legacy old stuff like we do here. So there was this big ramp up to create all these bigger blades down there. Of course, making those big blades locally saves a lot of logistical costs. But you're going to see this changeover, right? Like in the States, we don't really, we don't allow the Chinese manufacturers to come in. And in Europe, they're not really allowing the Chinese manufacturers to come in, but in Brazil, they've been all over the place. And to be honest with you, some of the big asset owners down there have to, They're not just Chinese OEMs. It's Chinese owned asset owners like CGN and things like that. So there's a, there is a big tie to China and I believe, like you said, Alan, I think this a blade factory is a kind of a pain to build. And one that's just sitting there and all you really have to do is, Build some new molds and repurpose a couple of things and you're ready to roll. I think this will get scooped up pretty dang quick. Allen Hall: Yeah, which should be good news for the employees down there because there is still a need for people who know how to build blades that are hard to find right now. Now, Phil, is this a broader move by LM that they're going to be closing some of the factories because of GE's demand more recently? Phil Totaro: Yes, and let's keep in mind too that, GE stopped selling their turbines down there and that LM factory was largely just producing blades for Vestas V150s. It looks like it might be rough sledding for for some of the folks at LM. The good news is, so going,

Today opens with a return of Tara's Top 10 news stories the Legacy/mainstream media likely didn't tell you about this week. We then dive into two ex-Politico's who admit any Hunter Biden laptop stories were to be spiked and never discussed. Gov. Gavin Newsome is truly living in la-la-land when it comes to his views of water in California ahead of Donald Trump's visit. Ding Dong, DEI is dead! The word is out and contractors, agencies and entities in the Federal government are getting the wake-up call. Some are still going to try to hide their DEI programs, rebranding or relabeling them. Senator Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren goes on another insipid rant against Pete Hegseth. Border Czar Tom Homan appears on Chris Cuomo's Show and goes through the illegal arrests thus far. A NY Times correspondent can't figure out why Trump's ICE raids are hitting blue states and cities more than red. President Trump, in his first interview since being inaugurated, says he is putting an end to windfarms and solar farms. When he describes the cost and the carnage, it's a wonder we started down that path to begin with. We also know Trump wants to correct the view on “birthright citizenship.” While the Left is losing it's mind, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) are introducing legislation to codify it's meaning. We then give you more examples why you cannot despise the Legacy/mainstream media enough. From using words to evoke emotions, to hyper-exaggeration and fear porn, to feigning ignorance for the why 51 spies would have chosen to lie, they continue to show us why they need to be ignored. The controversy over the Elon Musk wave that has turned into a Hitler salute was discussed by Joe Rogan. He said CNN used to do the same thing to him during Covid. Father Frank Pavone praised the pardon of those arrested for simply praying outside abortion clinics. This begs the question, why do we need the FACE Act if Roe v Wade was returned to the states? John Ratcliffe has been approved as the new Director of the CIA and to honor that, we remind you of how we questioned disgraced FBI Agent Peter Stroczk. We also put a spotlight on Ron DeSantis who schools a reporter that illegal aliens is not the same thing as “undocumented” immigrant. At this time of year, when you're bringing in things from the house, and a bear shows up and says, Oh, there's groceries in the car, hops in, and then panics, which is what happened to this lady. The bear panics and just destroys the vehicle. And this has happened very close to us, actually. And not that long ago, it was this summer, where bears were walking in our driveway, walked right by my wife, she didn't even know it was there. So it's serious that don't leave your car doors open. That's the one thing I remember in the fall. Don't leave your car doors open for any length of time. Otherwise, when you go back, you may have befriended a bear. Philip Totaro: Allen, I've seen videos where they're opening car doors. So don't even think about, you can close the door and they're still gonna get in. So I don't know, man. They're getting sophisticated out there. Joel Saxum: I've got another tip for you from my childhood. You always put your trash out in the morning. Before your kids go to school, before you go to work, put your trash out in the morning on the street. Because if you put your trash out outside of your garage the night before, you're gonna end up with trash all over the ground and the garbage man won't pick it up and you, i. e. me, as a young child, would have to go pick up all of our trash multiple times. So that's the hot tip. Allen Hall: It's either the bears, the raccoons, or the wildcats. Those are the ones you really have to watch out for. Get a cat down in your neighborhood because it can do a lot of damage. Joel Saxum: You would think that Allen lived in like Northwest territories or something and not in Massachusetts. Allen Hall: I can walk out my back door and pet deer right now. That's how close they're sitting next to the house. Cause it's hunting season also where I am and all the deer join into town. They're hanging up. Yeah, there's, they're not stupid. Joel, he's in the Berkshires. This is the wilderness. This is about as wilderness as you can get in Massachusetts.

It's a ticking time bomb - how do we integrate millions of solar, wind and battery projects along with 250 million EVs by 2030 into our outdated 20th Century Grid? Old school utilities often think of building more power plants, distribution, and transmission, but that would cost too much and could never happen fast enough. At least part of the answer lies in software, AI and smart grid technologies. This week on Green Energy Futures we talk to Sabine Erlinghagen, the CEO of Siemens Grid Software about how to build the smart, affordable, resilient and reliable grid of the future. Poultry keepers say they can't access government websites to register their birds. From 1st October anyone who keeps birds has to register with the Animal and Plant Health Agency, to help with monitoring bird flu outbreaks, even those with just one or two chickens. Failure to comply could mean a fine of £2,500. However bird owners who've tried to register say the system is not working. Defra says it's had a high number of applications and is working at pace to process them. It says it will be improving its technology to make it more effective for people to register.Fishermen in the South West of England say they are "beyond frustrated" by proposals to expand offshore wind farm sites off the coast of Devon and Cornwall. The Crown Estate's latest plan includes thousands of square miles off Land's End and the Isles of Scilly, currently prime fishing grounds, and an expanded zone off north Devon. Fishermen claim they - and other EU boats - will be squeezed into ever more pressurised fishing grounds. Meanwhile, those in favour of an expansion of offshore wind are wondering why it's taking so long to get anything off the ground. All week we've been talking about deer, just like cattle, wild deer are susceptible to tuberculosis, and there's concern that they could transmit the disease to other wild deer, and cattle. In the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, a group of farmers, land owners, vets and deer-stalkers are one year into a project, looking into this. They're monitoring the prevalence of TB in wild deer through drone surveys and blood tests, and giving hands-on training on how to spot TB in deer carcasses.Presenter = Anna Hill Producer = Rebecca Rooney
